I'm not a programmer. I just found out this by reading the swisscex post today. I'm just giving the news to the forum. Have not Pengar gave the dev position to someone else? Who is in charge of the wallet now?
It is still Pengar as I know. Thanks! I sent a PM to Pengar about this.

Hmm, contact Pengar! Please explain what the exploit does and how harmful do you think it is? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I'm not a programmer. Crypto Rush appears to be back online and eKrona seems to be rising there, but with the recent issues I don't know if it is wise to trade with them... The worse part is that no one is buying in CryptoALTeX and in AllCoin 1 eKrona is less then 4000 satoshis! What to do? ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) crypto rush should be fine, the price/volume is so undervalued right now it doesn't matter if you have 5k or 50k ekronas just hold on to them. Agreed! I have only one 280X and it takes far too long to mine for me to sell coins cheap. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

New wallet update available from github. HARDFORK: Mandatory update before block 80066 (about 2 weeks)VERY IMPORTANT, please read:This wallet modifies the database structure. In the folder where your wallet resides: "blk0001.dat" and "blkindex.dat" files as well as the "database" directory are no longer usable from the old version. You have 2 choices: - you can download the 66coin-bootstrap.zip file, unpack it and overwrite the problematic files, this is the faster choice as it does not cause a re-download of the blockchain, just syncing from where you left off
- you can delete these files, and wait until the wallet redownloads the whole blockchain
Changes: - limited the maximum number of coins to 66 - starting with block 80066 the random block rewards will be given based on the hash of the current block, instead of the hash of the previous block, so they are no longer predictable (this causes a 1 block delay for bonuses) - added support for money supply reporting (in console type getinfo, or run 66 getinfo in terminal to see total 66 in circulation at any given time) - added more checkpoints In order to celebrate finally implementing the limitation to 66 coins the wallet version was set to 0.6.6.66! Also sorry for the delay, I wanted to release it earlier but discovered a bug and had to fix it before reposting! Fantastic! Now that the coin will be limited to 66 as it was intended to be, maybe we can see it raising in price! If I knew how to code I would compile the source right now... ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif)

That's Great ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Awesome! I've been away for a while, but I'm going to make a new blockchain explorer soon! Awesome progress guys! Great! Will you keep developing the coin? Your site has a certificate error. Look, I've said this before, don't use https! And yes, I will keep developing. I'm working on an android wallet now. That's great! I was so afraid my mining was for nothing! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) The diff is so low right now I doubled what I had last month by mining just in a few hours yesterday with my single R9 280X!! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I read the past posts and I must say I love the logo and hope this coin can grow more! Keep up the good work!

We should sponsor something with this coin...we should raise funds for some charity in Scandinavic Countries. Any ideas guys?
Maybe we could follow the 66 coin forum example. They have a new maintainer and an active community: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493987.0Just my 2 cents ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Whats up with the dump @ 1 BTC rate? Its crazy... Go out and throw some cash on the streets while ur at it...
Let them sell, I'm buying those ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) . Oh and I plan to rise the price after releasing another update to the wallet next week, we need a bit more security improvements before the huge hash rate guys step in and that will happen as soon as price goes over 10 BTC/66. Nice! This wallet update will fix the infinite coin issue or this was already fixed?

I have added a bounty section @ http://ekrona.org so please contribute! And it can take several hours for the balance to update on the block explorer! Also if you have any suggestions on different bounties or questions just contact me. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) The address for both bounties are the same: KNfux7QccQNjxqQxRin1qwNz7nMAWoDuTe, but the link for the second one redirects to KU2vuTydu5Wunvphd8mMf5njZaxbRTF7vp. You should correct this.

These designs are great! Maybe we can use the first one as the wallet icon (like the bitcoin icon, which is simple and flat with only the " BTC") and the one with "ekrona" as the large icon inside the wallet and for publicity. This one for the small wallet icon: 1.![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Foi62.tinypic.com%2Ffu0yfm.jpg&t=663&c=GrwgtMjeDY4U8A) and this one for publicity, exchanges, etc: 3.![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Foi61.tinypic.com%2F15otqih.jpg&t=663&c=pAkB2K9KQeFwgQ) What do you guys think?

Announcement: I'm going on vacation and will be missing for a few days (until Wednesday)... When I return I will continue to work on another wallet update.
Depending on how this coin evolves until that time there may be changes in the reward scheme for the coin.
Keep voting, mining and let's take this coin to the moon! See the first post for details on voting and exchanges, leave me messages if this gets on a new exchange or a new pool or you just happen to have a great idea about what the next wallet update should include.
Note: Next wallet update planned for 18-20 March. It will limit the number of coins, include some security patches and may add some changes to the amount of coins released per block. Also I haven't forgotten: It will fix the height issue.
I just saw that Grain coin implemented "true random superblocks". Maybe you can talk to their admin or just check Grain's source code to see what is the difference from your method of superblock calculation? Also, there is the ZeroCoin project that enhances a coin's privacy but they are still in Alpha. I don't know if implementing ZeroCoin security would benefit the coin, but these are my 2 cents to help the evolution of 66 coin since I can't code or anything besides mining. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Fantastic service! Made some trades with it and they all worked out fine. Plus, the customer service is great!

Don't forget to add the other addnodes as well.
Also thanks to all for listening and keeping their wallets up! Up to 20 connections from 3 this morning.
Difficulty is also going back down.
Important: If anyone still has wallet syncing issues please read previous posts and add the addnodes lines to your conf file.
Good luck to all. Have faith in this coin.
FAQ: Q: Have you heard anything from the developers? A1: Still no words from the original developers, if they do nothing by Monday I will step in as maintainer and release an updated wallet. A2: I am not in any relationship with the developers, nor do I have any information about how to contact them directly.... all I did was find some still running nodes. A3: I tweeted to them updates I posted here some time before posting them in this thread, they have yet to retweet them so more people find out about this.
I will keep you updated!
Good news: voting is going well over on mintpal, we already surpassed 41 coins, among them some very popular coins like Quark, Litecoin, Feathercoin, Earthcoin, Maxcoin and Smartcoin, keep voting every hour.
My question: Does anyone know about any pools that are not p2pools still running for this coin? Or is anyone planning on making one? If not I will consider starting one myself.
Thank you so much! I was scared this coin was left to die but now I have hope again! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) My wallet is always open to help the network and I'm back on mining solo! Too bad bondni and hashrapid went offline and since the syncing problem I never got any 66coin from coinminer even after some 4+ hours mining there last week. I hope menzo replies to you or at least leaves the coin to someone who really cares for it.

Let's revive 66Coin I got 66Coin to be added to the votable coins list on mintpal exchange (sorry can't post links) To those who can't sync the wallet: addnode=162.159.255.123 addnode=84.117.98.75 addnode=82.224.222.136 addnode=174.44.0.175 addnode=65.60.190.183 So start voting (note that you can vote 3 times every hour, or 6 times if you have a registered account) and mining! Apparently, sadly, whoever started this coin doesn't seem very interested in keeping it alive ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) . But I invested a few days worth of mining into this and want to see it see the light of day! If this helps and we manage to bring it back consider donating 19XgCgu7y1spdtHvuKx36QQnuD3a4Cqgyg Thank you so much! Now my wallet is synced! I have voted too.

It's alive?
Where is Menzo? A few posts back he said he would update the wallet! I don't mind waiting for an exchange, lots of newer coins are still waiting for one like eKrona, but the dev should at least speak with us and show that he still supports the coin. I can't even sell what I have because the wallet does not sync! ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif)
