A bit late, but still it is a subject worth mentioning. We were back then describing what happens during Bitcoin Cash fork into Bitcoin Cash ABC and Bitcoin Cash SV. Since then, market has calmed down and price of both coins went down. Because of this it is hardly easy to justify the whole sense of the split. Some of the investors say it is much lighter now to lead the project where everybody is in the same page, but maybe together would be easier?

Well, the main problem with masternode income would be: people lack skill and don't have proper equipment. One need to buy VPS (investment), configure it and take care of anything happens. This makes masternode income ACTIVE and REACTIVE. Far from passive income.

Here is analogous article, but targeting far east investors. Europeans, at least those in Euro currency union have it a bit easier to track value, so do Chinese investors. One could assume Yuan is the second currency of the world, but it is not true, it is farther in terms of a world's volume by a margin. It doesn't mean that it couldn't rapidly change. Moreover, crypto world is east-centric and bigger percentage of users would track Bitcoin price in yuan. Or Renminbi, as some people would say.Similar tricks that help investors save some time every day.

European investors would like to follow price of BTC in Euro. Euro is the second most popular currency in the world, but most of western crypto exchanges use US dollars and eastern exchanges use Yuan/Yen/Won. And no wonder. We present this short trick everybody use to convert crypto price to euro using internet browser. Just to make sure investors waste no more time calculating.

Looking at the significant Litecoin price movement up (so far + 20% on weekly chart), we would like to go back to our article if it were a good idea to buy Litecoin. Of course, there is a timing issue, but we were stating that knowing the fact of Litecoin being somehow a testing territory for Bitcoin and it's clones, how would it influence buying decision? Is it only worth when some new, promising functionalities or changes to the algorithm announced? Or there are many other aspects to look at?

Do you agree that when it comes to speculative gains, most of the "dividend" coins like Neo, KCS or Vechain don't benefit from huge movements of price? Or is it just the biased view. To be more specific, they aren't target of pump'n'dump that often, comparing to projects that are more based on the sole price of the token. What are your view?

Thank you for all who took the time to answer. Most of the investors in crypto space are as confused as ordinary people, and it is not without valid reason. We tried to check the most popular ways to earn more crypto just by owning tokens, but first results are as follow:
Website Freebitcoin offers CD-like deposit for crypto paying a bit over 4,08%. They are on the market for long time and didn't fail their customers. On the other hand, in 2018 Bitcoin suffered a big price fall in dollar terms. Looking back, it would be better to wait out bad times in dollars. In summary, person who has been keeping BTC at this place would end up having 4,08% more crypto after a year, and way, way less in dollar terms.
The other crypto exchange KuCoin, offers dividend for holding their tokens KCS. It pays reasonable 5-10% year interest, depending on how much trades people are performing on the exchange. And everything would be great, except of the fact, that owner of KCS lost... 60-80% value of their portfolio in dollar terms. Simply, holding tokens and getting dividend was a terrible idea: an investor increased his/her holdings in token terms, but lost most of the value in fiat terms. It doesn't look like a good investment, at all.
The similar story could be told about Neo, VeChain, which is the leader of the losses from ATH by the way and the other tokens.

No wonder there is a lot of confusion about passive earnings, as there are probably NO INVESTOR WHO HAVE ANY PROFITS from such investments. Does it mean that such investment would be unpopular in 2019? Being contrarian sometimes leads to profits.

To get a short break from specific cryptocurrencies, let's take a look at cryptocurrency exchanges. There are many markets holding digital assets and markets for them. We recently compared many cryptocurrency exchanges in a search for the best cryptocurrency exchange. Comparison includes risk level, fees, basic information.

Some investors accept bigger risk, being the result of transferring assets to different country of continent. As a benefit, they get lower fees, up to 0% as a maker in far east exchanges. Some are willing to accept higher fees just to get access to the leveraged market. Some trust companies only based in their country. Choosing cryptocurrency market to use is not an easy task.

How difficult is setting up a masternode? Is it only for IT specialists with experience in networks+crypto? It is hard to believe that maintaining masternode could be compared (by effort) to dividend.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Passive income from cryptocurrencies in 2019 on: December 20, 2018, 06:21:32 PM
This subject has been already discussed, with no conclusion obviously. Now, after a hard year there need to be more incentives for investors from coin dealers and project managers just to sell tokens. There are ETOs, but the concept seems to work for bigger entities. Dividend is more down to earth approach. Do you believe that it would be more and more normal for coins/tokens to offer additional stream of income just to get investors on board? No only as a part of the ecosystem, like Neo. Thoughts?

Here, while we have some relief on the market, we would like to shortly mention our work from some months ago. We were considering if it is possible to achieve passive income from cryptocurrency. This came with additional condition, that it needs to be fairly easy for beginners and do not require much effort. We tried to analyze possible solutions and came with one crypto exchange token that pays dividend. Unfortunately, it hasn't been a good investment, losing most of it's value during 2018. Now it is going a bit up, but there are only few investors who were lucky to buy exactly the bottom. Conclusion? Not an easy task and lots of risk involved.
52  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading without losses? on: December 12, 2018, 07:27:53 PM
Trading without loses is simply not possible, as you are dealing with uncertainty and getting paid for participating in risk. There is, of course, psychological aspect, but it is a part of the journey to design proper framework to deal with loses.

Siacoin has been in top hundred by coin capitalization for quite some time. To the additional surprise for a number of people, it has elevated even to first fifty. We try to take a look at situation and progression for Siacoin in 2019. Almost hundred millions of dollars at coinmarketcap in December.

The SC implementation team managed to implement a working system of data storage with advanced level of security. The data is stored not only in blockchain technology, but also data is divided into small pieces, basically preventing a direct attack on privacy. On the other hand side, mining landscape for Siacoin has changed dramatically, excluding anybody who have been hobby mining on a small scale. So, how is it going to look like in near future?

Here we would like to quickly introduce some hints when it comes to calculating bitcoin price in USD. There are some tricks that let investors calculate price without logging into cryptocurrency exchange or calculating step by step in memory or on piece of paper. Google always comes handy.

This is more down to earth approach for beginners. Let's suppose you would like to get into cryptocurrency. You don't know anything about wallets, anonymity, technical stuff, best practices, security, even don't know the best websites to built your knowledge about crypto. On the other hand side, you know how to handle online payments, you do good with the banks, transfers and you can calculate.

This beginner's friendly getting into Bitcoin guide is a shortcut to quickly getting some Bitcoin. They are the shortest ways and most of them are ordinary financial practices' friendly, not customized or tailored towards privacy or cost effectiveness. Still, this shortcut has gathered the most grateful responses and allowed many people to start their adventure with crypto. At least, most of the people didn't know, that Paypal isn't the optimal way to buy crypto, because of their security and customer friendly return policy, which makes transaction riskier and more expensive. Still many people ask how to buy crypto with this very popular online wallet...

Not at all. This is still the future of the world finance, isn't it? We just don't know the exact shape it is going to acquire.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NANO Yes or no? on: December 01, 2018, 11:19:09 PM
Yes Nano seems to be fine, and it has just showed double bottom on the chart. Consider taking a look at August 2018 bottom and current period, price has been holding around $1. Maybe it would be a good pick for short term bounce?
There is this Nano investment story, in which a guy buys lots of Nano coin for around $5 and refuses to sell, believing he is still going to make a profit in the long term. Having this type of community gives a bit of hope it the current market realms. Never the less, it is very risky.
58  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoRatingAgency.com - revealing cryptocurrency value on: December 01, 2018, 11:13:00 PM
Today's recommended post about Nano doesn't really correlate with market's mood. Cryptocurrency Nano has been keeping up with capitalization, at least according to coinmarketcap. There has been an optimistic take on Nano's chart, but maybe it is entirely false, because of deeper drop in August 2018.
So, there is this guy, who bought a lot of Nano tokens for around $5 and is still defending this investment choice. Would it make any sense, now that we know the huge impact of bear market? Arguably.

There are many concerns about stable coins recently. Not particularly from coin market capitalization perspective, but from stability and the general brand of cryptocurrencies. Concern is, how stable is the biggest stable coin, when it is swinging almost 5% daily... Not really a good point, isn't it?

Here is our take on Tether, the stable coin with the biggest cap. The future predictions for stable coins are optimistic. There are going to fuel future bull market a big time. Imagine, what printing of Tether made to the market at the end of 2017... And multiply it by several stable coins. But, are they stable as their name states?
