41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin on: March 14, 2014, 08:07:43 AM
Just an update on my side: I've been mostly just answering technical questions to our web developer hendr1x on how to interface with the coin client today through a linux daemon.  But from those questions i can tell that the webfront is making progress!

Very good info in that regards! Just a question, that I know will get answered in a while once the webshop get's working, but since we will pay coins for GPU, does the company have any plans on how they sell the recieved coins on the market? I mean once sells get's working, depending on the volume the company might have the majority of coins and could drive the price of the coin since none could pump or dump. If the company would play smart they would pump the coin just a bit and put levels in place where the price could get stable.

Overall, this coin could be the very first coin to be "pump&dump" safe and where the dev(s) can set a confortable price level!

CrunchPool has set up a new server to spread the load from the other one. Switch your miners to the new one!

What's the waiting time for payments on P2P? I've mined on 3 so far, 30m-1h on each and got zero transactions yet blocks were mined. What's the deal?!

BTW, has everyone seen this? Not available until late summer (long ways off in crypto-time), but sure would be nice to see something like this in the store. FANCY looking! lol

Oh what the hell now that looks dope (pun intended).  I would not mind using one of those just for gaming.  Seems a bit pricey for mining where we want to be as cheap as possible to maximize profits.

Tbh it's well priced for that it offers, 3 cases in one: mining, benching, gaming. And since there are almost DIY cases with just a few metal bars and screws for 100-150$ almost makes this case a bargain!

I've mined there from almost the start, it's a very good pool!
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin on: March 11, 2014, 06:39:20 AM
if their store release then with reasonable gpucoins heck the value will skyrocket!  Grin

The prices are going to be the market value of GPUc for BTC. In other words, the CEO could have opened his ship and just sold his video cards via BTC instead of stringing us along into mining his crapcoin to trade for the BTC equivalent of GPUs  Roll Eyes

Except this makes GPUCoin resiliant to a huge spike in BTC value since you will be able to pair the coin with the value of the cards and then with the difficullty of mining/aquiring it. As in if on a r9 280x if it takes you two months of mining to get enough coins to buy another card then I don't see how the value of the coin can go fluctuate that much.

If they can sell hardware cheaper than other online stores and still make a profit or even cover the expenses, why are they not doing it on USD already? If they can, why can't someone else and how come there isn't some store selling cheap gpu's and having them in stock all the time? If they can't, well, then there will be no business.

It doesn't matter if they sell cheaper or at store price or at a bit over the regular store price. It's still worth it because you will have to exchange one currency for a physical item and not GPU to BTC and then to USD and then purchase. You lose/win on each stage, but mostly you lose. And if the coin is backed by a physical item it gives it a value, so in turn in can drive the exchange rate for BTC and not the other way arround.

Overall if they will get the shop online and working then this coin will go a long way!

Check out the "expected time to block", that's about the time you will see some payments. You get credited/payed once the block get's solved and the pool finds another one. You can look for the last found blocks on the tab "Last Blocks". Tho the pool had some issues with trying to apply a patch, so it had a few mins of donwtime, now it seems they are back and working.

I'm mining on that pool as well and got ammount payed to my wallet, waiting for it get confirmed.

As far as I know they don't
have any web page for interaction,
right ?

They do.

Look for your address under the "Active Miners" tab.

where can i find instructions on how to easily start mining AUR?
Follow the instructions here: http://p2pool.crunchpool.com:12347/static/
mine just like any other Scrypt coin.
We have a big dedicated server that won't fall apart like many other pools

I mine here for almost a hour and get nothing,
please advice...

49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: February 28, 2014, 04:24:14 PM
The biggest misconception is that the coin is somehow tied with the Icelandic government where in reality it isn't. It makes such claims on the official page but this is false.

I don't see any such claims. Forgive me, can you point me to it?

It's due to the text/article on the mainpage that states this is the cryptocurrency of Iceland, like being the one only or an "approved" one. It's in fact one that might have created in Iceland and that's about it. Sematics but still...

A national ID database, created by the government will be used for this purpose.

It might be public record in Iceland and all, but in other european states it's not legal to have access to such a list, due to security reasons. Even the ID number, one printed on the ID card, one assign to each citizen, is in some countries protested by privacy laws to prevent theft of identity.

So now you understand how some people think this is the crypto of Iceland, maybe backed by the government...
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: February 28, 2014, 01:59:08 PM
At current valuations, each citizen of Iceland would receive $710.00 each.  Smiley

And if they dump it it goes to $0.7.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: February 28, 2014, 12:56:52 PM
So by buying Auroracoins you're giving free money to the people of Iceland? Tongue

for people? or for the creators?Huh  annn Huh?

Think for a second, you really think the creator could cash out 10 million coins? There wouldn't be enough volume for someone to buy it all and the second people noticed such a massive dump, the value would plummet making them worthless. In the end he would make very little profit.

I swear people think with emotion around here and not logic.

And yet the dump already started on CR, down to 0.03 and lower...

54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | Launched | scrypt | PoS | No premine on: February 28, 2014, 06:59:20 AM
So you basically took the PeerCoin code, copy paste name, changed some global variables in header files, sped up the PoW period, added racial overtones to win the white supremacists over, and volla ... you can now trade with blacks.

Sweet.

How, about black is a color? It's hard to know, facts like that...

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ★★ Rubycoin ★★ A precious gem for the digital age on: February 25, 2014, 10:24:34 AM
Right after your post some retard came saying the reward is not being payed as 500...... Fuck's sake, do the maths, ur only making a fool of yourselves.

What is so hard for you to understand that, no matter how good or profitable this coin is or will be, announcing 500 coins reward and actually giving a tenth of that is just fraud?

The makers don't even care enough to fix the announcement one day after the launch!

The direction was bad, from the start of the launch with certain pools getting the source before others, even if they were on the same level as pre-registered status way back before the initial scheduled launch. On top of that dev changes the block rewards for the initial blocks, selected fews in the right pools managed to mine the shit out of it, raising the diff at a point where even after the 500th block you gained just as much as before due to diff. So no, launch was in way fear, dumping on this coin will contiue anyhow, dev and selected fews are and will prob earn a lot out of this coin.

Here's a preview of the trade tab of our wallet (charts are generated with dogecoin information from cryptsy's API for testing purpose)

Don't like to piss on your work, but that wallet looks more like mockup then an actual working one. Unless it's the first concept, I doubt that screenshot is a real one. Would be cool if it were, tho...
