No problem... I just want shitcoin announcements. I mine them and I won 1-3 Monepoj a day. If I put my processor and my graphics card to the task of mining directly Monero, I would only have 0.5.
I'm curious what coins do you mine with CPU / GPU to get 1-3 moneroj/day.

You have to be careful about drive feezing, because if you go too cold, or run the drive for too long at cold then the spindle bearings will be destroyed. The bearings may damage the platter surfaces if they emit any particles or gelled lubricant while running cold, which would dramatically decrease the chances of data recovery by any paid service.
His failed drive is an SSD.

Monero because it offers real anonymity.

Devs, it's that time again! You know, the spreading of hashrate around announcement. Moneropool.com is at 55% of the total network hashrate at the time of writing this: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FyaU6ker.jpg&t=663&c=iEowusEecTVJyg)

Claymore, have you tested it on the new R9 285? Does it work? If it does, what kind of hashrates can we expect?

It was a (bad) joke. If you mine to his address he gets to keep your coins. Not recommended.
I thought so. I just wanted someone with more weight around here to point it out.

2kHash is aight.
Mine to this addy for 10% unbonus:

How does that work?

MoneroPool.com is fluctuating close to 50% of the total network hashrate (sometimes goes even above 50%). Could the devs post here and in the unmoderated thread to urge miners to spread the hashrate around a bit? (It wouldn't hurt to mention cryptonotepool.org.uk as a pool donating 100% of fees to development, and also updated with the latest patch) I know you have done this many times, but apparently it wasn't enough.

I started a blockchain sync from scratch on a linux machine and I noticed these two lines: 2014-Oct-02 19:17:27.194991 [P2P0]Failed to get remote endpoint: Transport endpoint is not connected:107 2014-Oct-02 19:17:27.195747 [P2P0]ERROR /home/ric/bitmonero/contrib/epee/include/net/abstract_tcp_server2.inl:638 [sock 49] Failed to start connection, connections_count = 45 Doesn't look like a serious problem, but just for the ease of mind I'd like a confirmation from someone who knows.

thinks. how long temporary security precaution?
The initial announcement was for 24 hours. We're waiting for the developers to post more details if there's anything going on that would require it to be prolonged.

It's time you fucked off, Robert.
It's exactly this that people like him want to achieve. Divert the developers from real work towards discussions with no real value. If he can piss off a core developer to start cursing in the coin's main thread, it's a bonus! That post accomplished nothing but paint a bad picture on yourself and Monero. Please consider posting an apology, not to him, but to the thread's readers, the majority of them being supporters of Monero. To everyone: please stop responding to those trolls. You know who they are, you know what they have to say. Simply ignore them. Let's rally and achieve something simple like this. Then, let's rally and find a way to properly fund the developers from now on. Together.

Maybe we should all get together and start a little fund that will finance all the work needed to build a nice GUI. How is that?
Maybe set up donation addresses exclusively for the development of the GUI wallet? Might help in assessing how important it is for the community.

Could someone from the development team update the first post of this thread with information about which pools are confirmed to be on the right fork and safe to point miners to?

Ignoring for the moment that mining efficiency is what will separate those who thrive, from those who survive, and those who fade away as mining cryptocoins profitably continues to get more difficult, and that I want to be in the group that thrives, it is simply not in my nature to provide services without compensation. You're in luck though because many people are considerably more altruistic than me, and almost everything I have learned about this subject probably started right here on [Suspicious link removed]o just start searching and there is nothing you won't find. Almost everything there is to know on this topic has already been written...
Can't really blame you for not wanting to share your knowledge. Are you really recommending bitcointalk as a good source for learning the finer details of mining?

Simply stated, intensity is used to allocate memory for the scrypt buffer as a power of 2. For intensity 13, 2 ^ 13 = 8192, intensity 20, 2 ^ 20 = 1048576. So for each step up in intensity, the greater the jump to the next memory allocation setting on the exponential scale. Xintensity in sgminer can be tuned on a much finer scale as it is not based upon powers of 2. There are so many other variables contributing to optimal configuration that I will not mention them here, but there is plenty of information available out there if you really want to learn how it all works. There are many nuances that vary by type of hardware, and simply increasing speed does not necessarily reap performance improvements. And then you really need to evaluate if any performance improvements achieved are actually cost efficient.
Could you share with us some of the finer details for optimizing hash rate / work usable / power consumption? I agree this thread is not the place for such discussions, that's why I'm only asking if you could direct us to some web resources.
