41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FutureBit Project Apollo: Bringing ASIC Mining Back to the Home Miner! on: March 18, 2019, 06:53:25 PM
At 4 cent power cost my numbers show this will take 65 months just to pay itself off.

I am beyond confused here....for the same price you can buy 3 used L3+ units and make 13x the monthly profit and pay the units off in ~4 months

Is there some secret way of making a profit or are people willing to throw away money just to have a shiny on their desk? Its not like Litecoin is some innovative blockchain thats going to explode in the future, its basically on life support as a coin already...
Yes but we will never tell non believers.

Tried this as a start script
./bfgminer --scrypt -o    stratum+tcp://us.litecoinpool.org:3333 -u Du****iles.Moonlander -p Miles*****,d=128 -S MLD:9ae9aac96dcfe611a233a7bc30f55f2b,10d1cfbe6848e711850d1b920d6e317d,baeaf550535fe711a6e75f0a3f3d1008,12f23ac82148e711811126920d6e317d -S MLD:noauto --set MLD:clock=796
I know on Windows you have to set (-S MLD:\\.\COM*) for each device, ie, (-S MLD:\\.\COM251 -S MLD:\\.\COM250), if you are trying to select certain UNITS or us -S MLD:ALL FOR all MLD it can find.

You have to search for your wallet - go to wallet in the menubar, you then get a neat customised page with yours stats and the party stats.

I have a question though, a couple of you guys are mining with c=LTC,m=party.Apollo,d=50000

I get d=50000 is the difficulty setting - but what is the benefit? Should we all do it?

Edit welcome pancakehero Smiley
I just do it so it doesn't spend time auto adjusting.  Not sure if its really worth it but I figured what the hey, i like playing with options.

Pretty sure that means there's something wrong with the info in your pool setup.
Are you trying to connect to an auto switching pool?

Anyone having issues connecting to bsod or ZergPool? Mine states inactive. I can connect to tbdice and ViaBTC just fine.

what are you mining on bsod? or trying to? Zergpool was not working for me
I finally got zerg working using stratum+tcp://scrypt.mine.zergpool.com:3433#skipcbcheck#xnsub and adding a (.1) worker number.  I don't have to make this specification with my L3+ but i imagine its because the Apollo has the extraonce whereas the Antminers dont.  But i may be talking out of the side of my head too.  Just got it working and its been stable for.......6 minutes. Ha! Tongue

I call my miners Apollo1 y Apollo2 (not too much original names hum...  Tongue).  I put a couple of quality labels on each (on top and front).

But, no way to know what miner I am monitoring when using webgui... only by IP.

I will like a lot a simple text field for assigning each miner a name. If visible at dashboard, you can identify your miners very easy.

Maybe too stupid request, but really easy to implement ha ha...

This falls to the category of "do only if you know you can copypaste and follow the instructions" but here's how you can change the page title of the dashboard of each unit. The title is what's visible in the browser window bar or tab bar, not on the page itself. You need to connect via ssh to the mcu (the login and password has been mentioned in earlier posts) and then run the following two commands. Edit only the first one to match the wanted title but don't touch the second line:

Code:
pagetitle="The new dashboard title comes here within these quotes"
sed -i -e "s#<title>.*</title>#<title>${pagetitle}</title>#g" /opt/apolloapi/build/index.html

Reload the dashboard in the browser and that should be it. The original title is "Apollo miner web dashboard" if you forgot to write it down. Wink
Thanks for putting this up there.  Love being able to customize things one step further.

Just got mine in today and it was a very easy setup.  Thanks for bringing this tech home.  Runs beautifully, as well as the 6 MoonLanders and 2 L3+ I've got in my mini setup.  Thanks again, really really nice work.
