41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: St. Petersburg, FL first bitcoin ATM on: November 13, 2014, 10:55:07 PM
It was temporary unfortunately

If you find a permanent location for any of your Bitstop ATMs (you have two, right?), let me know and I add it to Bitcoin ATM Map.

Nice, is this a permanent or temporary installation only until the games?

44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tech Giant Google Installs Bitcoin ATM in London Campus on: November 05, 2014, 10:23:45 AM
where does it say that google has installed it?
I can't see any relationship with google

You're totally right, this is poor journalism again, now everyone tells that Google installed the machine, however they didn't.
But it was actually installed by BitBuddy, who operates it.

It is located in the workspace, which was organized in 2012 by Google for new startups, but this is just a location and connection to Google as a company is really weak.

47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lamassu btc ATM's not working! on: October 11, 2014, 09:07:05 AM
In Melbourne there are 6 Bitcoin ATMs in total.
5 Lamassu and 1 Robocoin.
Find locations here http://coinatmradar.com, so you may try at least in two more lamassu machines if you like how they work. Finally, you can also try the Robocoin ATM in Emporium Shopping center. Maybe the first registration is not fast, but then should be much easier to use.

49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New BTM (ATM) in Square One - Mississauga on: October 08, 2014, 07:06:00 PM
There are 11 Bitcoin ATMs in total in Toronto, Mississauga and Scarborough.
Check on http://coinatmradar.com locations and descritpion.
You will find many other locations from other operators.
Cavirtex has launched 9 Bitcoin ATMs in Canada already.

Looks like the ATM in Bochum only supports Bitcoin at the moment.
Do you plan to switch on other coins support that was planned initially?
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ATMs printing paper wallets on: October 02, 2014, 02:57:25 PM
Is there any ATM that has the option of printing a paper wallet in advance?
no, and it is not clear what for this is needed?
If somebody just wants to generate a bitcoin address without installing any wallet software - then why it is related to Bitcoin ATM at all?
In your scenario - this person will not buy from the ATM, just generate address, take this printed receipt and walk away with this paper wallet.

Second, even if such a feature will be introduced in ATMs say for some fees. But the security as mentioned above will definitely be compromised at some moment. You should not trust any external service to generate private keys for you, either it is some site, ATM or anything else.

This is why whenever you purchase from Bitcoin ATM not to your address directly - it is recommended to do this asap and not storing funds on the printed address.

Even better would be if the private key would come hidden as part of a scratch card. This would make them look much better and make them much more secure.
ATMs definitely can not produce scratch cards. So they will be created somewhere else and then have to be filled in the ATMs. All this adds one more chain that can be compromised.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We neet bitcoin ATMs on: September 19, 2014, 06:42:13 PM
The problem is the word "few" . We need more. We need every people in the world to embrace bitcoin. But how?

Give it a time, this can not happen overnight. The first Bitcoin ATM was launched less than a year ago. As I'm carefully monitoring all the Bitcoin ATM news, I see there are many positive experiences with ATMs recently. Also people who don't even know a lot about Bitcoin, see those ATMs appearing and start asking questions. This is good. I'm pretty confident that Bitcoin ATMs are a good means of increasing people awareness and increase adoption.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Visited my first Bitcoin ATM in Chicago today on: September 18, 2014, 01:28:32 PM
The ATM operator would likely need to invest tens of thousands of dollars worth of bitcon and cash fiat to buy/sell bitcon at the ATM. This does not even cover the cost of the ATM itself. I would imagine the ATM operator needing to pay some kind of rent/royalty to the store the ATM is located in as well. They need to make some kind of return on these investments.

That makes sense. Current average rate is at 6%. http://coinatmradar.com/blog/bitcoin-atm-fees-analytics/
And this is what the market defines, I also doubt it will ever fall below 3% even due to increased competition and increase volumes in the ATM (e.g. mass adoption). The only AML/KYC probably eat not less than 1% and then there are cash logistics, rent, purchase of ATM, support, fees to the manufacturers, licensing etc. So, 1% in fees total for using Bitcoin ATM is just illusion here.
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: *Bitcoin ATM Thread* on: September 18, 2014, 06:20:37 AM
Based on risk management. Double spend attack is not something easy every kid can do + also there are always amount limitations on the transactions with 1 confirmation.
55  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM Fees analysis on: September 17, 2014, 03:08:40 PM
Fortunately we saved the Lamassu which is now back in commission.

Is this lamassu machine in operation now, if yes - where?
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We neet bitcoin ATMs on: September 17, 2014, 11:40:36 AM
Bitcoin ATMs are already available in few countries.

I would say in many countries, although the number within each country is low: Canada and US are on top
You may check the Bitcoin ATM map here http://coinatmradar.com
57  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM Fees analysis on: September 17, 2014, 10:42:08 AM
its a start. nice website and good work. thx.

Yeah, I definitely think it is a bit high due to lack of infrastructure at the moment, but the more operators and machines we get - the lower the fees will be.

Just posted an article comparing different countries and Bitcoin ATM operators fees.

60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM Collective will sell Dogecoin Litecoin Guldencoin soon... on: September 11, 2014, 08:58:13 PM
World First. ...

Well, not first in the world, as litecoins and dogecoins are bought and sold in Genesis1 machines for quite a while, but still a very nice achievement, congrats!
