WHAT IS SILICA NEXUS?

Silica neXus is an XR Virtual Universe experience and it is a portal to many other XR experiences developed by 3rd parties.

Based on the Silica: novel series byT.A. Roe the experience is set in the Silica Virtual Universe on the other side of the dimensional veil from our universe. We can only see it, interact with it and travel around in it through telepresence technology, (disguised as AR, VR and standard game equipment), given to us by the Mythilae (this is the plural form of Mythilaen), allied aliens who interact with us through the Aether Realms.

➡The conflict mankind has been thrust into is the war between the Mythilae and the Maitre. Within the aetherrealms there is a form of energy which is both particle and wave that is essentially quantum in nature. This material is what makes up not only all things within the aetherrealms, but all things within the world and universe around us. Just as a person could dissolve a rock and extract a valuable resource such as gold or diamond on this side of the veil, within the aether, you can do the same with objects or creatures, which converts them into a useful source of energy and material. This aether goo can be found and collected during and after a battle. This type of interaction is a key aspect of the neXus portal combat featured in our AR application. It can be traded and used to develop aethertech or power aethertech devices once it has been refined into derivative materials.

➡The Maitre seem bent on acquiring and consuming all known resources in the aetherrealms and destroying anyone or anything that tries to stop them. Mankind has unintentionally broken the veil between dimensions. Fortunately, the Mythilae discovered the tear first. They came to warn us and recruit our best warriors to help them battle the NE.

➡However, some of us humans are not satisfied with the freely available gifts given to us and instead seek other access points and contacts. These rogue elements within the Terran Defense forces have created concern among our ranks. They have taken the new technologies and used them as a way to garner favor with other groups. 

➡This has not gone entirely unnoticed by the Counsel; however, these nefarious activities are difficult to track and even more difficult to stop. These factions have established unsanctioned bases on worlds by hitching rides with illegal interstellar trade merchants, spies and even pirates. We are concerned that this might someday return to bite us in the ass but little can be done save keep a wary eye for any sign of trouble.


A LITTLE BACKSTORY
You hear about the neXus every day. Cultural icons, scientists, and philosophers all agree–which, when you think about it, is rather amazing–“we may be living in a simulation like the Matrix!” The Silica neXus Universe is all around us, like the Force of Star Wars fame, and your limited senses simply do not allow you to see past the veil that separates our “reality” from the worlds of Silica neXus. In spite of this limitation you are swimming in a three-dimensional volume of particle and wave, the Eather-Realms that connect everything and everyone in the universe—seen and unseen—to you. There may be creatures all around you, ready to drain your life-force; a doorway to another world—which would be light years away using Einsteinian physics, is just a short walk through a wormhole.

THE DEEPER STORY
There are forces in the universe that have learned how to connect their world to ours using these portals, and they are plotting their next invasion. You cannot at present enter these wormholes to pass through to the other side; however, utilizing our Aethervision technology and your smartphone you can see them. Using Aetherdroids, you can fight them, and using VR integrated telepresence and an Aetherdrone you can pursue them and bring the fight to their own turf!

➡It isn’t all about fighting though. Once you join a clan, guild or house, you can stake your claim of the lands we have conquered across the universe. You can operate through political and corporate means to build a new world for you and your companions to explore. But beware; enemies are always looking for a weakness. Once discovered, you will need all of the resources you can muster to hold them at bay. After all, this is a fight to hold onto the lands you have worked so hard obtain, and the treasure you have harvested through blood, sweat and perseverance.

➡This is the only way we can protect our Earth from the ravages of the Nephilim. These NE as we call them are breaking through the aether of our world. They are using illegal wormhole technologies to damage our magnetosphere, and if they succeed, we could lose our home and everything we care about. It’s the NE vs US. Enter the neXus and defend the Earth!

➡A little more about the NE. This is not so much a specific alien species as a class of aliens that have formed an alliance against the Counsel of Five (C5). The C5 are an ancient collective of races that founded the laws which bind all sentient and space-faring peoples throughout the known universe. The NE represent the opposition to our goals as we take our first tenuous steps into the greater galactic community. A specific race that has chosen the Earth as the target of their aggression is the Maitre. They are responsible for the current threat to our magnetosphere. Their hatred of our world isn’t entirely without cause; however, from our point of view, we never intended to offend them. This of course is irrelevant. When the Maitre have determined that you are an enemy, it is all but impossible to erase that offense. We won’t be burying the hatchet with them any time soon.

HOW WILL YOU PLAY? 
The Silica neXus Virtual Universe is set in the here and now, on the other side of the dimensional veil, allowing for the multi-participant crossover from the area around you, your neighborhood, town, and city, connected to the other side of the universe, millions of light years and thousands of galaxies away. The only way to see and hear what is happening on the other side of the veil is through the telepresence technology given to us by the Mythilaen race—a race of aliens that share our common enemy, the NE.

➡You control drones and avatars remotely through telepresence. This connection is made possible through the quantum instantaneous connections provided by stable wormhole technologies provided by our allies. To you this technology is disguised as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and standard game console and PC interfaces. This tech not only allows you to move about and interact with the world around you, but to travel from one planet to another, across vast distances in the blink of an eye.

➡On this side of the wormhole you operate virtual Aethertech in the form of droids, drones, and other ethereal devices. However, our Mythilaen allies have created real alloy and technological systems on our possessed and beachhead worlds and lands. Once you are connected to the other side of a stable wormhole, you take over physical alloy-based drones, vehicles, or even organic cloned bodies of the native peoples on those worlds. This is your Avatar, and if you intend to blend in with the locals; when in Rome, do as the Romans do.

➡Each new region of the universe–each new galaxy, star system, and planet–can be a completely different experience, with its own background, history, technology (or magic), genre, legend, and lore. But your experience, technologies, and credits will be held for you in your personal account so that it can be exchanged and utilized in whatever local economy you are in within the Virtual Universe. This of course presents an opportunity for those who invest their time and treasure in these worlds. The economy of Silica will be an exciting part of the enjoyment of playing the games of that universe.
