43  Other / Off-topic / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto - 1,5 million Bitcoins - We need answers on: April 30, 2013, 03:41:42 PM
As you can see on the fifth graph here http://bitcoin.sipa.be/ , for many months Bitcoin was very unknown to the public and because of that difficulty didn't change to the upside. If I have understood it correctly around 1,5 million Bitcoins were created from February 2009 until the end of same year. Also if I have understood it correctly very few people mined under this time period making the conclusion that Satoshi Nakamoto and a few more people have a considerable amount of Bitcoins (worth today around 16 million dollars). You could also suppose that a majority of this coins are in the hand of Satoshi Nakamoto. Today it has gone more than two years from the birth of Bitcoin, I am convinced that Nakamoto has big plans for Bitcoin and he/she/they have put considerable amount of time and effort in this interesting project.

I am talking for my self, but I think that my thoughts concern also others that are thinking alike. I want to invest a considerable amount of money and time into this project/currency/commodity/freedom. But I think that until the person(s) behind Bitcoin doesn't come forward I think that the best I can do is to reconsider if I should invest time and money into this project. Because not getting any answers makes Bitcoin to become something uncertain and vague. If Bitcoin should become worth 100-10000+ times more than it is today, and be a serious threat to the establishment and the status quo of the financial world of today, we should demand for some sincere answers to this questions.

My questions:

How many Bitcoins in total does "Nakamoto" have?

What is "Nakamotos" estimation of how many early adopters there is that have more than 200 000 bitcoins, 100 000 bitcoins and 50 000 bitcoins?

What was the purpose of creating Bitcoin?

What is your plan for the future of Bitcoin as "Nakamoto" sees it today?

What are "Nakamoto" going to do with the wealth that has been created?

Until this questions are not answered, and I am pretty sure the person/group behind this project can read this, we should really reconsider buying in until we get some answers. If this is going to get big, this questions will always hunt us until they are answered.

It's not your business how much bitcoin he have, and don't have to answer any of your questions, you don't have to use them if you don't like it...fuckin loser care about your wallet not other peoples wallets.

47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal president interested in bitcoin on: April 24, 2013, 01:28:04 PM
Paypal is pretty evil, they report ALL your account info to the IRS, even if they claim "only for sellers with $20k+ in sales and 200 transactions."

Paypal wont ever allow it. They dont even understand it if they are considering it. Bitcoin makes Paypal totally obsolete.

Why would I fund Paypal with BTC if I can just send BTC directly, it costs me nothing and I dont have to provide a TaxID#, or even a name/address?

You still need to pump all this trillion printed dollars in to bitcoin, plus they could make bitpal obsolete in one day if they provide the same service....
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FinCen preparing to prosectute some Bitcoin users on: April 24, 2013, 01:07:23 PM
If FinCen start prosecutions against individuals and/or companies the next progression will be confiscation of their assets and possibly the coins they used in their transactions (easily traceable via blockchain) so in theory you could have 100 Btc in your wallet which has been used in a drug transaction and are therefore an accessory after the fact.
Suppose you bought those coins from Mtgox, they have your bank details and are therefore easily traceable.

How many people would like their names appearing in the papers as being connected to a drug or paedo ring?

Possibly another way of scaring people away from getting involved in the bitcoin economy?

LoL good luck with confiscation of bitcoin if you are stupid enough to give them access to wallet you don't deserve them. They can't put in jail every one, starve them to death

50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Porn industry is beginning to adopt on: April 23, 2013, 01:22:25 PM
People have been saying for a while that buying porn with bitcoins would make sense, because of the anonymity. It looks like this is quickly beginning to happen.

Last week MetArt began accepting
[NSFW]  http://www.metartnetwork.com/bitcoin/

And in result of that, this week FreeOnes is now accepting.
[NSFW]  http://my.freeones.com/cgi-bin/mainpage.cgi

Both are fairly large porn sites, and it looks like many others plan to follow.

I found this reddit thread interesting, which was made by a staff member at FreeOnes
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1cv0vu/ok_we_gave_in_too_you_can_now_buy_myfreeones/

One question was asked:

Quote
I always figured that the monthly charges were a big part of how porn sites got revenue, from people who would forget about the charge until the next month. Is this not true/how are you dealing with auto-renewals?

Which the guy from FreeOnes responded:

Quote
I would say that's one of the biggest myths in adult. People actually do care about their cc statements specially the last few years with the economy being so bad and people being more aware of their sendings.
Of course you have people forgetting to cancel but that's not what most revenue is coming from.

I think we could be seeing a lot more of this in the near future, now that some big names have taken the step.

Tragically it will all lead to children being abused once them Catholic priests, corrupt politicians and figures of authority caught up.

Looking for excuse to do something bad and later say it's not me it's bitcoin fault... sick bastard...
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Porn industry is beginning to adopt on: April 23, 2013, 12:24:56 AM
On http://www.metartnetwork.com/bitcoin/ you put email address pay with bitcoin done.

On http://my.freeones.com/cgi-bin/mainpage.cgi They want CV, 2 photos, and 2h to fill all forms, overcomplicated... don't like it do it like metartnetwork...

The problem could be access + paying for porn from minors if you only need an email address and a couple of bitcoins. Not that I believe minors pay for porn anyway, but it could be an issue for the company.
yeh like there is problem to get on pornhub if you are not 18.  Just ask. Are you 18? YES NO job done.

55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin so slow? on: April 15, 2013, 12:53:26 PM
It's pretty much instant if you accept zero-confirmation payments. If you need the double-spend security, you wait.

Except that merchants and others are probably unlikely to trust zero-confirmation payments. So any ideas on if this will improve?
Why ? What is chance then somone who paid 0.00001 bitcoin for coffe try pull double-spendig on Costa ?
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin anarchy in need of some rules | NY Post on: April 15, 2013, 09:35:47 AM
Let them think they can regulate the bitcoin, and when they wake up it will be too late, people hates banks, big government and too big to fail and fork with less regulation will be always most sucessful
57  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Ripple: A Distributed Exchange for Bitcoin on: April 12, 2013, 09:06:53 PM
Seems I was under the wrong impression that ripple was not open source, dunno why.
The server is not open source yet. Once the server is open source, we'll have to obtain a consensus on every feature change that affects what transactions are valid or what effects they have, just like Bitcoin does. I used to say we sometimes make those kinds of changes three times a day. We're probably down to once a week at most now.

Quote
Do you need to have pre-established social connections with people that you trust for settling debts etc?
Only if you want to use Ripple as a platform for social/community credit.

Quote
What happens if your buddy defaults?
If you choose to trust someone and they default, then you lose whatever money you trusted them to borrow from you or hold for you. We're not promoting Ripple as a social/community credit platform right now but rather as a payment and exchange system. (Though I have high hopes for it in the future.)

Nice pretending to be open source,  don't trust them, they are not honest from beginning !!!!
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please test (if you dare): next-test 2013-04-12 on: April 12, 2013, 08:45:05 PM
For the record:

I think testing a gazillion pulls at once is madness, because if something doesn't work it can be incredibly difficult to figure out which of the gazillion changes made it break.  Assuming that just once change made it break and not some subtle interaction between two or three or six changes...

If you want to help test, I think it would be much more helpful if you find a feature you care about, grab the binaries that the pull-tester creates, test thoroughly, and then report results in the pull request on github.

Agree too many things ....
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the state will attack Bitcoin... and how to survive the attack on: April 12, 2013, 08:34:14 PM
hey tell this bitcoin24 users polish just freeze bank account
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Under Attack ?! on: April 12, 2013, 08:28:47 PM
This is typical way polish tax officials work, they can freeze anyone bank account because some bureaucrat think you brake the law (different jurisdiction interpret law different way ), they destroyed hundreds of businesses this way, you can appeal but its take time and usually  you business is gone, when, at the and you win in court , and ofcourse there is no any consequence for person(bureaucrat) who just destroyed someone live and business. I sure people  will able recovery bitcoins they cant do shit about  it, but fiat money its different story, now you see why bitcoins are superior fiat...
