We have responded to over 30 orders for alts to DeleteCoin requests and will to continue to process as the come in. Also great news on getting listed on the exchange and we will continue to work towards future goals. Also to those questioning our intentions, you are free to have your opinion but at least try to keep it somewhat professional. No one is forcing anyone to trade anything or making anyone to exchange anything. This is an open source product and our intention is to simply provide value for efforts of minors in the past where coins went under or people that were hosed by developers. If you don't like the concept, feel free to move on.

I do want to note after several requests we are unable to accept WTC (WorldTopCoin) at this time. Their only downloadable wallet is laced with several viruses and there is no source for us to compile our own. I apologize to the WTC community but at this time there is nothing we can do.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE][ANN]DeleteCoin - Let the deleting begin! on: March 17, 2014, 02:31:20 AM

Just had to force payouts at https://del.crunchharder.net because DeleteCoind has the same issue with no reporting unconfirmed balances properly as I described at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=511678.msg5705576#msg5705576

FFS are all these coins are rip off from the same shitty source. There is one cowboy developer going around selling his services and making coins. All coins inherit the same issue. There's no "development teams" behind any of these recent coins, so I will guarantee there will be no fix. Similar coins with this issue are Litebar, Procoin, Aphrodite and now Delcoin and thats only coins I know of. I know this cowboy developer has made a few more.

Thanks for letting me know, I spent the last hour setting up a pool for this, but I will bin it and move on. Good luck, I honestly doubt this coin or any coin with that flaw will go far.

I will be Deleting my DeleteCoin pool.  Smiley

The source was litecoin and I came across this issue with a pool owner earlier. If it is a problem with my code I will fix it. However I think the problem earlier was with the stratum piece on their side not sending params for the getblock. But again im going to dig into it on my side and see what I can find.

50% premined in the hand of one unknown person. Yes, the premined coins are PLANNED to pay those deleting their altcoins.
However, who can guarantee the dev won't dump ?
What can we expect?

It's like a bomb which can be triggered at any time.
Even 3% premine will kill a coin totally ( U can see Pandacoin. ).

So personally I will keep away.

That's the whole concept behind it.

You are justified in your skepticism. All I can say is that this is not the case but in the world of crypto, it is only my word. Only time will prove that this is not a scam and there is no dumping and that the coin will continue through the years. The mindset behind this is to continue over the years as coins die and devaluate to be able to continually buy them out and increase our overall value.

So dev,
Please start to say which will be the next step and what is your proposals..

Right now our next direct step which of course everyone wants/needs is to get on a reputable exchange and establish a true set value for the coin. Trading alts of no value for an alt of no value is essentially useless. We plan on being listed direct and on coin market cap within the next few days. From there we will continue to process exchange requests and establish a solid process for total exchange so we can automate it and eventually create our own in house exchange for DEL/AltCoin trading.

First Community Question :

Received several requests for WorldTopCoin (WTC). However, after digging through some things there is no source code and no verification of premine and distro. Max coin is 30 Mil. Except the exchange?

I've never even heard of it. Doesn't sound like it would make much of an impact.

Also, how are you going to calculate the cost of exchange for alts?

Exchange is calculated on max coin, so 1% (1Mil) of Delete coin/ 30 Mil WTC = .333 or 1 Del = 0.03333333333333 WTC

Giving away the DeleteCoin I mined in the first few minutes, because I refuse to support a scam. The developer is admittedly pocketing HALF OF THE PREMINE. First to PM me with their address gets them.

What are you talking about? I specifically said that the premine would not be used for bounties, donations, giveaways, or anything else period. I am not sure where you gut this idea that I am pocketing anything. Maybe it is the way I worded it, but the coin has a 50% premine, 500 Million, which will only be touched if costs for future development require so, which will be posed to the community. I hope this clarifies but I am not trying to take anything. I honestly plan on asking for donations so we can cover bounties as that allotted premine has a dedicated use already and that is not my pocket.
I sincerely apologize for jumping to conclusions, it is just the wording of this sentence that threw me for a loop.

Delete coin is a radical idea in which 50% of the premine will be utilized to acquire useless alts in return for a coin with value

Apparently you were right to do so, that was a grammatical error on my part and it does make it seem that way. I updated the site and am updated the OP now. Thanks for pointing that out and sorry for the confusion.

Lol, are you trolling or legit had the identical idea to DeleteCoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=511880.msg5705074;topicseen#msg5705074 ? I don't mind a second coin.......but the cycle is going to start over with 7,000 coins trying to remove alt coins.

I can live stream me deleting my LTC-qt.dat........... and then not live stream me retreiving it from the recycle bin, re-syncing it, transfering the balance to Cyptsy and exchanging it for 5 BTC.

This just sounds like a way to try to get people to send you Alts for you to cash out at a higher price because you have effecivly Pumped them.

+1 the idea of sending them to 111111111111111111111111 so we can all confirm on the blockchain that they have gone.

To be honest we considered this idea but were concerned about the number of actual connections for older coins and being able to get transactions across and verified, which is why we decided to try the process of actually compiling wallets for each coin that is needed and removing the dat file after the fact. However, this is a progressive concept and we are 100% open to community input. If it is a consensus to try to just use that generic address and verify it in the chain, we support it entirely. Trust me, I don't want to keep any of these coins.

In regards to the pump, we don't feel that will be the case in any way shape or form. Considering how long alts have been around and how many coins have typically been mined per each, we don't feel it will revive any coins. It simply would not be worth it. If value increased, hash would return, value would disappear, and they would be back exchanging their hours of mining for 1 DeleteCoin which wouldn't make sense in the long run.

However I want to reiterate that we want to form a community with this coin. We will rely heavily on what coins are exchanged and in the end, if there is any type of question at all, it will be posed to the community to make the final decision. There are several coins that could easily try to exploit Delete, especially devs that are sitting on huge premines that could easily try to dump them over. In the end, the community will be deciding their fate, so input from you guys is crucial.

We are currently looking for a few solid pools to bring on board for launch. We would like to have pre-registration available to ensure a smooth launch. Please PM me to arrange. Thanks all.

If this is legit, then I'm interested in this idea.

Crapcoins should quake in their boots.

But..

Won't this just cause altcoin deflation? If you delete 10% of the supply of some crapcoin, then surely you'll just be making it more valuable, won't you? May be a flaw in this concept.

This seems to be a reoccurring question and is a valid point/concern. In no way do we plan on being able to get 100% of any coin. At most we may be able to grab 10% as most people have probably deleted their wallets or, they could simply return to mining their crap alt with the mindset of no competition = 100% of every coin generated. That being said, this coin was designed more with the mindset of giving back to the community and helping those left holding the bag of crappy alts that, if with no action taken, would potentially be worthless forever. If this does some how revive some coins, all the better as the community is getting something back for the work they put in to start. However, if we could remove a few more .dat files one miner at a time for each junk alt, I feel it is progression. The coin cap vs our equal value is so minimal, we feel this would only be beneficial to those currently holding and it would not be worth reviving a coin for.

I like the idea.

In a round about way, doesn't this promote the mining of garbage coins especially in the beginning stages?  So we can trade them for /d coins?

We don't feel it does unless it is a coin aimed directly at trying to exploit DeleteCoin, in which we will address it and provide 0 exchange for the coin. For example if it is a coin created before yesterday, and have a huge front end of coin rewards, we would still accept it. However, if someone makes a 100% premine coin tomorrow, we simply can't take coins like that. We will also rely on the community in cases where there is a grey area and in the end, any contributes to DeleteCoin will be ultimately deciding the faith of what new alts are accepted and which ones are not.

Well ok, provided the coins are pretty worthless, it could work. As long as you don't target valuable alts, as then you'll indirectly increase their value. Pick something with massive sell walls at 1 satoshi. You'll only be burning up dead weight, even if the coin is good.

I have a pile of ValueCoins that are absolutely worthless. I'd happily burn the for some DELs.

The other issue is verifying the coins are actually destroyed, and not just kept.

The monthly purge of all wallets will be live streamed and recorded and posted to the site for reference. This should allow all to know that the coins are actually removed from circulation.

Also, launch has been moved to Sunday 12pm eastern standard time to allow miners to be able to partake that typically would be at work. This was per request.

Also I have been contacted about rewards/bounties for specific work. We will address these on a case by case but 0% of the premine will be used for this. If we feel something is needed that we can not create in house than we will contract it out via bitcoin from our personal wallets. However if it is community driven and for the betterment of the coin, we will try to use donations and crowdfunding as the primary means. That means that all faucets, block explorers, etc, will be generated from or by the community. This coin is not your typical alt coin with a premine as the premine is already allocated for its intended purpose.

How do you plan on proving deletion of the alts exchanged for Deletecoins? It seems like unless there is 100% certainty that these coins are being deleted that DEL has no difference from a normal coin?

That said, I like the idea, I think that publicly broadcasting the metrics of coins deleted could in the end help to improve all altcoin values, if you can prove destruction.

We thought about this long and hard. We plan on tracking all metrics and displaying them on the site for public consumption. For the actual deletion of coins we plan to do a monthly purge of all the .dat files in which we will stream and record and post it on the site to guarantee that the coins are actually removed from circulation.

why dont you help us all and delete deletecoin
I plan to rely heavily on the community for input and to help us drive this project, but if you have an issue with the coin at least provide some constructive criticism please. Everyone has their own opinions.

how will you delete other alts with your 50% premine?
1% or 1 Million DeleteCoins is worth 100% of the Max_Money of the alt in question. We will then create an address to confirm that the alt was transferred and in return send the equal amount of DELs in return. So if the alt coin had a 100 Million Max Coin, the alt would be worth .01 DELs, if the alt had a cap of 750 Million, it would be worth .001333333 DELs

Introducing the end of alt coins as we know it
DeleteCoin plans to systematically remove junk alt coins one transaction at a time

About

History
Bitcoin was created January 3rd, 2009 and has grown into a global phenomenon. As a global currency, cryptocurrency allows for global transactions and seemingly instantaneous transactions. However, with success comes imitation. Daily it seems like BitCoin or it’s little brother LiteCoin is cloned one way or another to create a new alt. This seems to be a never ending trend and the stock piles of useless “Alts” continues to grow. As alts fall off marketplaces, the miners are left holding mountains of useless coins that they spent time and money on generating.

DeleteCoin 2.0
We have implemented a new fork at block 6,000 to strengthen the overall value of DeleteCoin as well as to implement a new business process for how DeleteCoin will function as a whole. From block 6,000 forward, reward has been changed to 25 blocks instead of 250. Additionally, the max coin has been changed to 600 Million from 1 Billion, reducing the overall mined coin dramatically. The reason for this is to boost the value of DeleteCoin to give a stronger overall buying power to the coin itself.

Additionally, the process for acquiring alt coins as well as how DeleteCoins will be handled will change as well. This is a much more aggressive approach that some may not like at first, but we feel, with the feedback from the community, it is the best approach to achieve the overall goal of DeleteCoin, which is to resolve the dilution of coins do to the every day creation of new alt coins adding no value to the crypto realm. From this point forward, DeleteCoin will only accept coins currently on an exchange. This will allow us to dump the coins back onto exchanges and essentially flood the market and hopefully, ending the alt coin. When BTC is generated from these sales, they will be used to buy back DeleteCoins off the exchange which will be sent to a public address inaccessible to anyone, which in turn will remove those coins from circulation.  DeleteCoin will essentially act as a self deleting coin used to drive alt coins out of existence. This is a radical approach, but we feel it is the most effective manner to achieve our final goal.

Breakdown for clarification of the exchange rate. PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US
We have received several requests and after we confirm the amount to exchange, people seem put off by the amount of the Delete they are being offered. The exchange rate is very easy.
(1,000,000 DeleteCoins "1%")/ (Your Alt' Coins Max Coin Supply) * (The Number Of Coins You Want To Exchage) = Amount of DEL you will receive.
EXAMPLE= HeroCoin. 10,000,000 Total Coins, you have 5,362. 1,000,000/10,000,000*5,362= 536.2 DEL
EXAMPLE= PandaCoin 100 Billion Total Coins, you have 795,399. 1,000,000/100,000,000,000 * 10,399 = 7.95 DEL
The rate of exchange is identical across all coins, regardless of current value. If you tried to exchange BTC for some crazy reason, the same rule would apply and your 42 BitCoin would be worth 2 DeleteCoin. So please do not contact us and take offense when you get offered the amount based on this set exchange.
