46  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Traditional currencies vs Crypto currencies on: May 16, 2021, 10:48:35 AM
Lol.. you really have a point there. Because I could remember sometime last week when I needed to withdraw money to pay for some items I bought, but unfortunately been told by my bank that I have exceeded my daily limit, and I was very frustrated because at that point there was no difference between me who had money and been denied access by my bank and someone who never had a penny, and I just had to go home that way feeling sad, wishing only had it been the store accepted Bitcoin for payment, everything would have gone smoothly..

50  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Fake alert during p2p trade on: May 16, 2021, 09:58:45 AM
Thanks so much for sharing this vital information.. Because some exchange do display the seller's details to the buyer which includes name, bank, and even phone number, which might have been how the buyer got to know the phone number to create fake alert.

But once again.  Thanks for this advise, because from now hence forth, I will be very careful with alerts received and ensure that balance is BOLDLY WRITTEN.
51  Other / Meta / Re: what is the easiest way to see bitcointalk on a mobile? on: May 16, 2021, 08:42:13 AM
Which of the phone are you using? Because I think if it's the normal Android smartphone, go download Google Chrome browser, and when you want to sign in to bitcointalk.org click on the always sign in button to keep you sign in always. It's very simple..
52  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need some advise! If this works, it can/will be life chaning! on: May 16, 2021, 08:21:41 AM
I think that site must be a scam, but one way to check if a site is legit or not is there presence on Twitter..

That is,
1. Are they on Twitter?
2. When was the last time they drop a post on Twitter?
3. How many followers do they have on Twitter?
4. How many likes do they have on each tweet?
5. What are people saying about them on trustpilot(dot)com
E.t.c

Because, if you could check platforms like Binance, Coinbase and even Remitano, you could see that they are always very active on Twitter..

So, please is not all that glitters are gold. So wise up..

54  Other / Beginners & Help / How to spot common Bitcoin scams and avoid them on: May 16, 2021, 07:48:14 AM
It is such a piece of sad news now as scammers now use Bitcoin to scam people of their hard earn savings of a lifetime, which beginners/newbies are mostly their targets, simply because they have less knowledge about how to buy, sell, trade, stake, lend, borrow and invest in Bitcoin in this crypto era. And this has been the reason for tears in many families as they lost their fortunes to these scammers. Which is the main reason for me writing this to my lovely bitcointalk family so that we all can avoid been scammed.

Listed below are some common ways scammers lure away people's hard earn money.

No 1: Twitter Bitcoin Giveaway

In this method, what scammers do is to use an account that bears a close resemblance to that of a high-profile personality or celebrity, asking people to send BTC to a specific address and be sure to receive double of whatever they send within 30minutes. And this always led to stolen funds, because never will they send the BTC double just as promised.
So be careful...

No 2: Email And Website Phishing

In this method, what scammers do is to create fake websites and emails similar to that of the original, all to dupe investors into entering sensitive pieces of information such as usernames and passwords, to enable them to gain access and hijack your funds.
So be careful and check all URL send to you via mail carefully.

No 3: Cryptojacking

In this method, what scammers do is install malware into a user's computer, which enables them to steal valuable computer resources used to mine bitcoin.
So be careful and protect your computer and most especially this smartphone you are using to access the bitcointalk forum from malicious individuals at all costs because it's indeed your office and source of income.

No 4: SIM-Card Swap

In this method, what scammers do is to duplicate the SIM-Card of an individual's cell phone, in other to initiate two-factor authentication and code been sent to the number to enable them to gain unauthorised access to the user's account and hijack his fund.
So be careful and stop sharing your phone number on social media carelessly.

Conclusion:
So in conclusion, I hope with these few tips of mine on how to avoid been scammed, no member of this lovely bitcointalk community will get scammed of his or her hard earn money. Amen

So be careful and watchful.  Thanks

Thanks Sir once more..
59  Other / Beginners & Help / Why financial exclusion is the true power of Bitcoin on: May 05, 2021, 09:14:34 AM
It is true that the digital currency Bitcoin offers financial sovereignty and virtually makes it possible for anybody in the world to have access to money within minutes at zero charges.

It is also true to the fact that government and centre banks don't care about Bitcoin and if to be possible would have looked for a way to regulate it, but thanks to its exclusive nature.

The true power of Bitcoin is not to push everybody into its wallet, but to prevent us from those bad actors who alter our savings (funds) all in the name of Bank charges and government taxation without first seeking for our permission.

I remember back in 2019 when I never knew about Bitcoin. It always makes me feel very angry seeing my deposited #10,000 (Nigerian naira) reduce to #9950, all in the name of Bank charges, maintenance fees, etc, but ever since my introduction to Bitcoin by a friend, I have always been smiling to my wallet every month.

I have always needed total control over my money, and that's why when I was introduced to Bitcoin, I quickly jumped into it, because of the feeling it brings of having ownership over your money for the very first time.

I want the power to exclude the banks that delay my transactions and charges me exorbitantly. I want the power to exclude exchange that asks my sensitive personal information just to process transactions and  I want the power to be able to control how I spend my money without dealing with an intermediate authority like the bank and government. And that's the power Bitcoin gives.

However, I know for sure that banks and government are now than ever before fighting to destroy the freedom that Bitcoin brings, but it shall not happen now nor never.

Bitcoin must prevail...
Bitcoin must prevail...
Bitcoin must prevail...

So join me my dear fellow bitcointalk members as we collectively say.. Btc must prevail.

Thank you so much for reading my first article on the forum.

Bitcoin must surely prevail...

60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The good side of banning btc in Nigeria on: March 02, 2021, 08:40:05 PM
I strongly agree with the listed points given by you above, because CBN's ban against Bitcoin has really created an awareness between both the young and old in the community. But there is one point i think is missing in this your article, which is...
1. Youth empowerment: Because the ban of Bitcoin has led to the realization of many that Bitcoin (holding, trading and buying/selling) has only been the means of survival of most Nigerian youths, since the government has failed to recognize them by creating jobs.
