Doc (or someone who can confirm / correct my assumptions),

Now that I have a decent amount of miners hashing I think it might be worth activating some additional perks but I want to make sure I understand the math correctly.

I currently have automatic donations for BTC and NMC on (1.5%BTC + 1%)

and prepay BTC & NMC @ 1.5%.

Sticking with just BTC and using 0.1 as the expected amount paid per block on the account page is the following correct....?

For each block found I would receive .096 BTC's calculated as  0.1 minus 1.5% (.0015) for automatic donations minus another (.001) for the fee minus another 1.5% (.0015) for the prepay BTC.

Additionally, if I activiate the team effort perk at .50% BTC than is would cost another (.0005) BTC each block.  And the non-stop mining perk would cost .0001 BTC each block.

Is the math correct here or am I off some decimal places?

Finally, it is more cost effective to just actiive the Pro Minter perk if I am interested in most of the perks (except many the easy mode - which I confess I am not sure I understand completely).

Thanks for any help!

First time I've posted a question on the forum and not received any answers....

Guess the multipool issues has everyone fired up.

Can anyone confirm the calcs above?

No, I just checked also and showing 0's for everything....

I'm not at home, but I assume my miners are still running.

45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Noise difference in Antminer S2 vs. Spondoolies SP10 on: June 09, 2014, 05:51:45 PM
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has both an S2 and an SP10 and can comment on the noise difference between them.  I have a Terraminer and a couple of S2's and was look at whether to get another S2 or try the SP10.  All my equipment is in my house mostly in the basement and a guest room.  Since I can close the doors the noise is muffled, but I heard the SP10 may be really loud.

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks.

Huh......Koi leaves the pool yesterday and today it appears that Fefox is gone.  Wonder what's up?HuhHuh??

I just got another S2 to add to the pool, but that's a farcry from making up the difference in hashing power of these two miners.
47  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Terraminer IV - drops to 50% hashing after 24 - 30 hours... on: May 26, 2014, 02:53:58 PM
Well, I've had the problem twice now over the last 5 days.  Both times I brought up the Terraminer admin page and selected Restart System.  Within 4 -5 minutes the machine was back up to the normal 1.6Th/s rate.  This seems like a workable solution when I am out of town since I can use TeamViewer to log into a local machine and execute the restart.

Thanks for all the help!

If you really want to remote power on/off your miner, this company makes Web Power Switches that connect to your Ethernet network and has 10 outlets and you login to a web page and control your outlets remotely.

Which company? I think you forgot to name it....?

They are called Web Power Switches, the actual company.

Honestly, my way will work 99% of the time.. and it's free. Do not spend more $$ on the problem if you do not need to. If in the case the remote cycle doesn't work (again, it always 99% does) then go with an adapter to reboot. But first you need to verify these switches can handle all the wattage and amperage that comes out of the miners. Most of these power cycle switches are made for servers and desktop pcs.

Thanks.  I am going to try the power step / reboot option when I get home.

waldohoover - so are you saying that a remote reboot will get the TM back up and running at full hashing rate and that I don't need to physically unplu and replug in the PSU's?
51  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Terraminer IV - drops to 50% hashing after 24 - 30 hours... on: May 22, 2014, 03:52:38 PM
It could be one of two things, either one of your power supplies is tripping its breaker or your miner has been hacked since cointerras operating system is vulnerable to the HEARTBLEED malware.  To tell if your miner has been hacked, on the status page of the cointerras GUI if you see only CTA0 or only CTA1, almost as if its been erased from the GUI than you have been hacked.  I know this because it's happened to me and apparently alot of other cointerra customers according to the Cointerra support forum.  If that is the case than contact Cointerra customer support and they will walk you through on how to reset the embedded Linux controller, it's time consuming and you have to be comfortable with working on Linux.

I have my own data center, I'm not tripping breakers.

Nobody has 'hacked' my TerraMiners, I knew about this issue, I was unaffected.

I'm doubting it's only these "two things". These are possibilities, the real answer is shitty gear. I've RMAd them already and have received the same, crappy gear. Cointerra replies with an "oh well".

Are you saying this is a "known" issue?.....if so, that sucks.  Since I am out of town 4 - 5 days a week it makes reseting these things difficult.  I guess I need to come up with some type of solution....
52  Bitcoin / Hardware / Terraminer IV - drops to 50% hashing after 24 - 30 hours... on: May 22, 2014, 03:34:09 AM
Hi,

I have a Terraminer IV and have been running it for about 3 weeks.  I've noticed that after about 24 - 30 hours it drops to 50% hashing.  If I restart it (unplug both PSU's and then plug them back in) it resets and runs fine for about another 24- 30 hours.  It has been doing this consistently for about 10 days now.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?  Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks.

I received my S2 yesterday and after opening up the case and re-sitting the control board and a few of the other boards it has been up and running for about 20 hours.  Been getting about 1003 Gh/s on average.  Totaling about 3.1 - 3.3 Th/s.

Now I just need to solve the power issue in the house.....running out of outlets and circuits!

Does anyone have more than 4 Th/s running out of their home?  If so, did you get any special electric work done to support it?

Just hope our luck improves here a bit....!

The luck has been bad. I just started mining with 5 antminer s1 s . I'm very new to mining but how long do you wait for the luck to change?
I don't think at this rate I won't  cover the electric needed to run the power supplies and the antminers. I like this pool because it's so easy to use, but I would like to recoup my investment.
I have learned a lot from all of the posts here. I have been able to set up all the equipment just by reading lots of posts.
Thank you all for sharing your information it's been a great help!

My experience here (about 6 weeks) is that after a run of bad luck we usually find 2 - 3 blocks fairly quickly.  From what I've read, and this could be wrong, is that you will end up with (basically) the same net dollars from any pool.  If one has more hashing power than BitMinter, then your payouts are less, but they might find blocks quicker.

I'd stick it out here for at least another week or two since Murphy's Law says once you leave we find 3 quick blocks....  Wink

Need folks opinion on PSU's....

I recently bought a Terraminer and the power draw from that thing is incredible.  I have to run it on two separate circuits otherwise it trips the circuit all the time.

I'd like another one, but not sure if running all the extension cords through the house will be acceptable to the wife....and it is a bit messy.

So, I am looking at adding some more S1's.  The question is do I get an 850W PSU to run two of them or a 1000W PSU?  I am thinking if I have 2 850PSU's running on one circuit I have less of a chance to tripping it then having two 1000W PSU's.

Any suggestions/thoughts?

Thanks,

John

Well....I finally broke the top 50!  Got my Terraminer today to add to my 4 S1's.  Got to brag a little since the wife doesn't really get it  Grin

Buy boy does that Terraminer suck the power!  Tripped two circuits before I found a place to put it.  Actually had to move my Litecoin miner - which I thinking about selling.

Been hovering between 2.1 & 2.5 TH/s for the last 2 hours.  Can't wait till I run through 10 shifts to see what my share ends up being.  The pool has almost doubled in power since I joined about 6 weeks ago.

Hi,

I recently purchased a Corsair CX750 for my Antminer S1. Has anyone successfully run 2 S1's off of an CX750?  Any issues/cautions?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have a questions as to how the "Your Score" percentage is calculated. For example, in the 10 most recent shifts I have somewhere between a 0.0514% and 0.0540% with 243Ghps to 248Ghps.  Is the percentage based on my Gphs relative to the total hashing power in the pool during the time of the shifts?

The reason I ask is twofold.  First, if I add more hashing power and the total hash power of the pool is not significant increased when I do then I assume my percentage would go up. Secondly, if I were to move to another pool that has 10x the total hashing power of BitMinter, while maintaining my 248Ghps, then I assume I would see a significant drop in my percentage allocation of coins.

Is this correct or am I totally off base?

Thanks.

Hi,

I just installed an Antminer S1 on my home network.  Since then I have seen my network slow significantly impacting browser, email, etc...  Has anyone else seen an impact on network performance after installing an S1?

Thanks.

Is there an additional payout for the person who finds the block?

Just started here about 2 weeks ago and slowly adding hardware.  Up to 62/Ghps now.

Thanks.
