8btc wall on cryptsy at .0135, has control of the market currently, this to me is a sign of price depression for accumulation, classy move, hold fast and hold Long

Ian and I wanna learn 'TA.' So, if Guy is successfully using 'ichimoku,' we wanna get lessons: 'trading tips' is one of the real powers that our trust-network exists to use.

"The Ichimoku Cloud, also known as Ichimoku Kinko Hyo, is a versatile indicator that defines support and resistance, identifies trend direction, gauges momentum and provides trading signals. Ichimoku Kinko Hyo translates into “one look equilibrium chart”. With one look, chartists can identify the trend and look for potential signals within that trend. The indicator was developed by Goichi Hosoda, a journalist, and published in his 1969 book. Even though the Ichimoku Cloud may seem complicated when viewed on the price chart, it is really a straight forward indicator that is very usable. It was, after all, created by a journalist, not a rocket scientist! Moreover, the concepts are easy to understand and the signals are well-defined."

http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school:technical_indicators:ichimoku_cloud

The first 6 videos are a good starting point for learning the ichimoku indicator as well.

re: ideas for using sidechains here

1. Bryce seems to have indicated he's making UNO a sidechain friendly platform.
2. okay fine.  makes us ready for the future.
3. what good are they?  something about 'frozen equity' contained within the chain ... ohh I think in-house already has something like that Wink

(my guess) sidechains are like any Altcoin
tech is one thing --- value is another thing

pegs don't work with a product that is traded on the free market

If Uno was a sidechain of bitcoin with a peg 80btc to 1Uno it would have value: Zero (because no buyers and no more free market because pegged, so peg would likely fail and be useless, peg and free market can not exist side by side - i don't see how pegs should work. Creating a sidechain for BTC is nothing special and uno certainly shouldn't be one. Sidechains do not have a good value as moneytokens/store of value!)

If Uno would implement option for sidechains on itself is maybe a different story but then again: does it provide more value? Is it safe? Do we need it? Certainly we should not be in a rush about it!

I'm not even sure what the plan is!
Creating it is one thing but to foresee its impact on the market is an entirely different thing! Sidechains is not a one-man-show and blind trust is not advised!

Only because something is new doesn't mean it has value!

I'm just glad the issue is not imminent! I remain highly sceptical.

Seems to me that sidechains are the same concept of "proof of burn", but instead of burning into a non recoverable wallet, you are burning them into an algo that they can later be recovered from. I dont understand however, how UNO could be pegged to BTC with sidechains, both coins are already in existence and in order to go from one chain to the other, someone must fund the algo with pre existing coins in order for a transfer to work. Where will the BTC come from for one to cross chains? This scenario seems unlikely to succeed to me.

On the other hand, if UNO was made sidechain friendly and it was pegged to a NEW crypto that could only be created by Burning UNO into the algo, and equally redeemable back out, I could see that working.

An example of this working would be in creating a Distributed Autonomous Company(DAC). You sidechain UNO to company credits, and use the credits to pay for goods and services, the credits spent would then be distributed to the miners maintaining the network and the miners could then use the credits for goods and services with the network, or sidechain the credits back into UNO.

Why not just use UNO to pay the company in the first place?  By sidechaining into company credits that live on there own blockchain, the miners are not only mining to secure the company credit blockchain on the front end, but also securing the network the company lives on in the back end.

I forsee a future where only a handful of exchangeable cryptos are needed and the rest of the industry will just sidechain off a specific crypto of choice. sidechain into one companys blockchain, pay for your good or service, then sidechain out the remainder back to the base crypto. What ever credits you sent in the sidechain can then be cashed out by the receiver into UNO or continue to be used within the sidechain.

@all

seeing all that low hanging fruit is making me wanting more UN

but I don't want to dump B for A to get the bitcoins

is anyone willing to entertain options?
eg ... 10kg for $40 payable March 31 (so you'll make around $5 per contract if you carry the UN until March 31)

I'm not entirely clear on options, but interested!  could you elaborate please? so a 5 yr. old could understand; if that's possible.

I have figured out (with cragv's help) how to set up other addresses in my Uno wallet. So, I can put equity-DVC Uno in that wallet when the time comes.

m

I've left my wallet stationary, when may 1 comes around ill mess with sending some UNO and see about being able to leaving the frozen UNO untouched, I'm still trolling around here everyday, just keeping an eye on the prize and holding strong!

New rule:  if a 'system' doesn't fully operate within 20 minutes of download/install time, it's OUT!

What's the biggest problem in the world?  APATHY+INACTION.

Everybody knows, either consciously or unconscously that the governments are criminal, but nothing is done.

We CHOSE to use NXT.  Why did we do that?  This is totally unacceptable!  Wake up and say, "No!" just once.

Im all for improvement.  The DVC I hold have value because of the silver sitting in my drawer in the next room and the community that can call me out on that fact at anytime.  Not the blockchain that the ledger resides on.  The project is still small enough for a hard fork to a better system, and ill follow the ledger to where ever it ends up, whether a diffrent blockchain, or some other trust based system.

how many stars can a person get and what do they represent?

The first post of several at the start of this thread may be helpful here:

Your thoughts on a helpful rating-system, please:

So, five stars is 'no qualms about a trade of 500 UNO or a couple of 10-oz bars of silver'
Four stars is '250 UNO or equivalent'
Three stars is, say, '100 UNO or equivalent in silver'
Two stars is, say, '25 Uno or an ounce of silver'
One star is 'has made at least one trade'

Something like this?

I am not in charge.

m.

Read the first 2-3 pages of this thread to get a feel for stars and the general development of the Un-Ex. It continues to evolve, of course.

Nice and simple, makes perfect sense thanks!

Three trades to earn one-star TT status

have we discussed this? It's time, I think.

My opinion follows, with debate or constructive criticism invited: Three trades for TT status is preferable, yes. Also, because we're building a trust-based network (as opposed to an automated, 'trustless', black box system), it shouldn't be an automatic Trusted Trader status after three trades. Rather, I'd be looking for some measure of personal investment in the project/community, such as a bit of a presence here in the thread (ie. the odd post here and there that demonstrates you're onboard and interested) and importantly, that there's consensus between at least a few TTs that the new person is 'in'.

In the current format, getting a 'second' here in the thread for a new member is a good implementation of this idea. If we move to another format (website or whatever), I'd still be looking for a way to facilitate the person-to-person style of building trust and community rather than implementing automated steps, so to speak.

= we use the technology to achieve the trust network, but the network isn't the tech itself. If a 'trustless' exchange goes offline (ie. Cryptsy, Bittrex, etc.), that exchange is offline. If the Un-Ex interface in whatever form goes offline, the community continues - just with some inconvenience of falling back to a spreadsheet, forum thread, emails/PMs, or whatever else. Trust is the difference, so it should be central to how we build things.

--
Just a quick edit to note that there's an outline of the above process already on the About tab of the Trade Tracker. If there's anything on that page which is unclear or different from your idea of how things should be, please quote it here and share your ideas about!

Whoa! Warp speed! Note the updated 'Daily Post.' Cragv again.

I just noticed the Sell price in the Solid figures needs dividing down to make the price make sense (1 Uno isn't worth over 1 BTC... yet!)

-
Also, I noticed billpayforcoins.com this morning. It does what it sounds like - log in, enter your bill payment details and send them your BTC, LTC or XDG and they pay your utility, mobile rent, and other bills. That's another thing to latch onto, possibly.

Sounds like a cool concept, if only we could get some people to let go of there UNO lol

Awesome
Fabulous
Progressive
Resourceful
Impressive

Go, Guy!

[Do I quite understand the product? It's?]

Ill order a pizza from any pizza joint near the buyer and have it either delivered to them or available for pick-up, in exchange for UNO. Effectively I'm acting as a currency exchanger allowing the buyer to make a purchase using there UNO and allowing me to aquire more UNO directly with USD... or rather directly with a pizza!

Did a little searching around and found, cryptrader.com. Free to use the charts and first 20 trades, while I cant vouch for security if your using api's to trade on it(only been at it a couple days), they do import charts from tradingview with all the indicators.  my beloved ichimuku cloud included  Grin

If anyone knows of comparable sites with many crypto exchanges and indicators please let me know as im trying to expand my knowledge base on 3rd party charting sites.

cheers
