I might be in for one depending on the price.  Will have to be competitive with the S3, especially since these aren't being delivered until september.

I second that!
42  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 4, sales price changes daily, now $2121 per unit on: June 18, 2014, 02:21:51 PM
Batch 4 OOS...
Will there be a batch 5 or will attention be entirely on S3?
43  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 18, 2014, 12:16:16 PM
With regard to an S2 upgrade, I was under the impression it would be low cost (ie new firmware or new power supply)

Would it involve replacing the boards?  Doesn't sound low cost.

Can't imagine replacing S1 blades would be cheap either relative to buying an S3 outright.

Am I thinking about this correctly?

dlowings, reference link please. Does anyone have any official work on the S3?

Read the group buy thread for the next group buy of the S2
I can't find it either.
45  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [INTEREST] CoiningSolutions.com AntMiner S2 Group Buy on: June 17, 2014, 05:37:11 PM
Thanks for the work on this waldohoover.

I wish Bitmain felt differently about this GB, or at least gave some information as to the upgrade plan.

A question many are asking is, why is your 1 Th miner better than the others, to command such a higher price?
46  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: setting up antminer s1 on: June 16, 2014, 01:20:52 AM
What kind of router are you using?
47  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Product Failures / Underperformance. on: June 15, 2014, 09:57:17 PM
Ok so let us look at some UNDERPERFORMANCE of the Monarch...

Design

The promise.

Quote

The reality.

Abject failure on the design end.
Abject failure on your part... the first picture is OBVIOUSLY the air-cooled model while the second is the water cooled model.  I should know you'd go for misdirection, you've been proven to be wrong and you post BS instead of owning up to your failure.

But they haven't even been able to get the water-cooled model (picture #2) to hash for sustained periods at 600 Gh/s which was promised with the air-cooled model (picture #1)

In for 1 if Bitmain can pull off a good price.

Can you ask him for any more details about upgrading it in the future as he insinuated last month?
49  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Is anyone setting up a group buy of S2 miners on: June 13, 2014, 12:43:29 PM
great, thanks Waldohoover for taking the lead on this. I think price around 1300-1400 for June delivery of at least 100+ would be small victory Smiley

Sorry for a bit off topic:
What about doing group buy, but using shares (backed by physical miners = shares entitles you to part of miner/s) here ? We can get more fellow miners (actually selling smaller part of whole miners available), thus buying more miners and get better price at the end. What do you guys think ?

I mean Waldohoover is respected member here and have experience with group and "shares" buy offers and responsibly running&supporting them - what do you think about this Waldohoover ? Would you have time for this ?

Even better would be to take small portions of profit per month and reinvest on monthly (or 2month) basis in best $/gh/w miner/s ready to be shipped at that time, thus increasing the total hashrate and in case of no longer profitable miners sell them and divide the profit (aka liquidate the shares). I mean - happy hashing of community managed by trusted members of community Smiley I guess it will be possible to broker a good deal with some of respected hosters around here (at those numbers of miners we are talking about, there would be mutual benefit for both sides - us (shareholders, profit from low hosting/power prices) and hosters (long term profit)).
Thanks for reading and happy mining to all

Not a problem, I haven't made a formal announcement but looks like I penned a deal on new office/warehouse space to reduce fees of my future and current fees.

With that being said, I am definitely open to a GB to break down shares per miner if people want to just get their feet wet. Again, expected fees and charges will be cut by a substantial amount compared to my previous/current fees.

I've shot a couple emails to Bitmain regarding the situation and offer but haven't heard back. I've referenced the thread to show some initial interest so hopefully I can hear back soon.

Additionally, I'd love to also start offering local pickup at the new office, since the majority of miners will be in an undisclosed location. Smiley Sometimes seeing a face when doing deals like this is the reassurance people need to do future purchases, so I'm def open to everything and anything that makes sense. Smiley

Thanks Waldohoover. Can't wait.

Just so you know, there is a scammer who has set up an account looking like yours:  wald0hoover
and is sending out this PM:

Hi guys,

I have had a price back from Bitmain regarding the group buy you all expressed an interest in-

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=642586.0

Current price inc. express shipping - 2.62 BTC.

Why trust me?

profile -

here you can see all the previous group buys I have run -

After payment I will need the transaction I.D, your shipping address and how many units you have ordered.

I'd be in for one.

Any idea how Bitmain is going to approach the low-cost upgrade of the S2 in the future?
51  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S2 power cord question. on: June 12, 2014, 03:00:48 AM
Thanks.  Did it and I'm running now.
52  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Routers and Antminer S1s on: June 12, 2014, 02:38:09 AM
Try this...

set your router back it its original 192.168.10.1

Edit your the WAN of one of your Ants to

Protocol:  Static Address
IP4: 192.168.10.250
IPv4 netmask : 255.255.255.0
IPv4 Gateway 192.168.10.1
IPv4 Broadcast: blank
Custom DNS servers: 8.8.8.8

Save and apply.  Your computer will appear stuck while saving. After about 30 seconds, disconnect your  Antminer from your computer and connect the Ant to your router or ethernet switch.

Power cycle your Ant and wait about 2 minutes.  The Ant should start working at that point.

You can now access your Ant via a computer on your network by directing your browser to 192.168.10.250

Try .251  .252, .253 etc for other Ants.

54  Bitcoin / Mining support / Antminer S2 power cord question. on: June 12, 2014, 01:19:26 AM
I'm in the US, and got a plug/cord to hook up to the antminer S2 power supply that looks foreign.  The prongs look like this:

/   \
  |

Can I just find any old monitor or cpu power cord in my house and use that instead?

In other words, I didn't get a non-US voltage version of the miner, did I?

Thanks for your help.

I have the last S1 coupon for a college or high school (preferably) student.
Let me know.

So, there are no college or high school students who need my last S1 coupon?
Only enterpreneurs/unemployed/retired/consultants?  Wink

My wife is a teacher and rolls her eyes at my bitcoin obsession...If that counts, my bitmaim ID is dulac97  !

Absolutely...mine does too.

Thanks so much! (from me, not my wife)  Smiley
