41  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KRAKEN - COINBASE down!!! on: January 30, 2021, 08:12:05 AM
But why ? Why all the sudden issues with exchangers ?

Because you are using a rigged centralised exchange. This is what they do. All centralised exchanges are rigged this way - stop using them & start using decentralised exchanges which don't have an on/off switch & don't sell your ID to the highest bidder or pass it on to any government organisation.

Simple.

Can you suggest any decentralised exchanges?
42  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KRAKEN - COINBASE down!!! on: January 30, 2021, 07:41:41 AM
I think you should take this calmly, don't need to be emotional because it won't solve the problem. Make this a lesson for the future, so that you d
o the limit buy or sell feature. Because almost all exchanges down when the market price suddenly changes drastically. Whether prices suddenly
fall or rise, hence the usual server exchanges overload and go down. Because the traffic is so heavy to make transactions. So it not only happened
to Kraken and Coinbase, I used local exchanges to experience the same thing when I was going to sell Dogecoin. Suddenly the exchange server went
down, I had to wait more than 3 hours to be able to access the exchanges again.

Its a normal routine for coinbase to go down in case of high volatility. I can see its only the manipulation to stop the people to buy or sell and control the market. Every now and then i get message from coinbase that it is down and then up. I don't keep extra funds on coinbase to be on safe side.

It's not good enough, surly the whole point of a market place is to be able to buy and sell when you need... I used to run clothing stalls on real physical vintage markets, it would be like a big crowd of buyers coming to my table to buy this new amazing coat and then the market manager comes and puts a dust cover over my stall and says closed for cleaning for 12 hours...

If we can't buy and sell then what is the point at all???

12 hours later after original post and it's still giving me issues!!! Can't sign in and getting 502s and 505s!

This is not acceptable!!

But they don't give a damn one bit!

44  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KRAKEN - COINBASE down!!! on: January 29, 2021, 04:30:50 PM
Given the profits they make it is really irresponsible of all of them to be unable to provide their services whenever there is an increased demand for those same services. It just shows us how unprepared these companies are for what everyone wants, and that's a bigger adaptation - while at the same time the basic infrastructure is cracking at the seams every time a slightly bigger pump happens.

I personally do not use their services, but I think all users should put constant pressure on them to upgrade their infrastructure and provide uninterrupted service to their customers.

Yes, I cannot understand why this is continuing to happen and why Coinbase
[this is the exchange I use] have not come to terms with sudden swings in
demand either buying or selling. Lets face it, these events are normal for crypto.

The cynic in me thought that the last time this happened , Last week I think
as the price fell, Coinbase deliberately went offline. but it happens even when
the market moves up, they are not doing themselves any favours loosing out on revenue.

Just with the whole Robin Hood fiasco I am even more suspicious! But ah well... Business is business!

Just checked coinbase now and it is working fine. The outage and disruption was not because of Robin Hood but because of Elon Musk status changed to "Bitcoin BTC" which caused the big pump in the market and as usual coinbase unable to handle lot of traffic.

COINBASE:  "No assets could be found."

Give up!

This is really annoying, Many traders have lost their money due to these useless maintenance excuses. Not only do they turn off the service during pumping, they also turn off the service when the price goes down.

This is why it’s better to do LIMIT BUYS & SELLS. Your orders get filled automatically then which lessens the impact of down time on you. I’m speaking from experience.

Stop Limit is not a proper solution, it is another kind of trap. I've faced many unnecessary bounces when placed stop-limit conditional order. for this reason, I left Kraken and moved into Bitstamp and Binance.

They will give preference to new people signing up snd depositing surly??? Simple business acquisition strategy!
47  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KRAKEN - COINBASE down!!! on: January 29, 2021, 03:05:43 PM
it is somewhat understandable and no amount of server can predict this. they are basically being DDOS attacked while it is not really an attack it simply is demand. a demand called FOMO.

when the price rise started a couple of hours ago, hundreds of thousands of newbie weak hands who had panicked sold last week rushed to the exchanges with great fear trying to buy bitcoin while seeing the price keep going up and them losing opportunities.
this much sudden traffic crashes any servers and it will keep growing since more people find out about the rise and get filled with fear of missing out soon.

When will this end? In the short term? How long to these FOMO PUMPS last?
48  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KRAKEN - COINBASE down!!! on: January 29, 2021, 02:24:41 PM
Happens quite a lot when the market has significant moves, both up & down. This is why it’s better to do LIMIT BUYS & SELLS. Your orders get filled automatically then which lessens the impact of down time on you. I’m speaking from experience.

It's not right... They should have better servers... or whatever... Is this all open to fraud like Robin Hood??
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk adds #Bitcoin to his Twitter bio on: January 29, 2021, 02:21:30 PM
This is one of the flaws in crypto.... it's open to "market manipulation" like this......

Elon puts 1 million in a 0.005 coin.... Hypes it... Sells it...

Am I right?
50  Economy / Exchanges / KRAKEN - COINBASE down!!! on: January 29, 2021, 02:18:10 PM
What is going on??
Are they pulling a Robin Hood on us?!?!!

Tried 40 mins to get in - and when I am in it's impossible to trade, it just kicks you out!

Furious!
51  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are the markets Overvalued, Inflated and Pumped? on: January 27, 2021, 03:32:33 PM
Well, I think that both crypto and stock markets are overvalued. Let's look at the most hyped example - Tesla, which gained more than 900% in a year. No doubts that Tesla has potential, technology, etc., but the P/E ratio of 1,730.00 is crazy. It's the same with most of the coins.
Tesla won the beauty contest, people loved the company, their Earth friendly product and the CEO. I think the hype only lives on the outside, news spreading FUDs and hypes alike both in crypto market and stock market, they do not directly affect the prices but they can be a good trump card if you are on its good light. I don't believe that they are overvalued because if you sift through all the noises and see it at rational standpoint then you will understand what its value is. When it comes to being inflated, I think stock market is more on it because they have more people involved. Pumped might not be a bad thing, it comes and goes anyway, for stock market though it is a bad thing because an economy might collapse because of it.

Talking about economy, the stock market and economy could not be any further apart... unemployment all time low, small - medium sized business closing by the 1000s daily, yet SP500 up to 800% in some cases.

Is this all part of the "new normal" rubbish.. You will own nothing and you will be happy.. Something big is going to happen. Maybe BTC will be the only currency in a cashless society???

Yes for sure, regarding Tesla, it helps to look at its closest competitors and to see how far they have flew also.. NIO for example has followed the same pattern as Tesla, growing some 500%... XPENG maybe 300%...

Every stock I have looked at though have all had the same meteoric rise in no time, add to that the P/E ratio being way off as well as the Buffett Indicator score being an all time high... indicators of a crash... I am definitely no expert, far from it, but sometimes the simplest answer is usualy true (occam's razor).

I am holding back on investing for now.
53  Economy / Trading Discussion / Are the markets Overvalued, Inflated and Pumped? on: January 27, 2021, 01:22:55 PM
This is referring to the traditional stock markets as well as crypto (though I know the two are not connected, not directly anyway).

Looking on all the top US stocks, they have all added between 300% and 900% in the space of 2 months, it's drastic! Even Blackberry rose something like 200% overnight only 5 days ago?!

What is going on?

I am no expert, but try to study history and financial markets to help me along my way.

The crash in 2020 was a little shake up, we all dusted ourselves off and got on with it. Is a bigger crash imminent in 2021? I am holding back from buying or investing till I have a better idea. And as for the price of crypto and of course BTC, that will be effected if a crash does come.

Warren Buffet has sold the majority of his consumer goods stocks, airline stocks and anything that would not fare well in times of serious trouble. He has bought mainly into energy, commodities and large food holdings like supermarkets and food manufacturing. All things that would fare well in times of serious recession.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Vid I watched on Buffet selling all of his stock.

I am UK based yes, but don't want to use CB because of their high fees.... Maybe BINANCE is the next one for me.

3 days in and my money is still not in KRAKEN.... It's an absolute joke....

I was wrong. I just looked into Kraken's support page: https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000381846-Fiat-currency-deposit-options-fees-minimums-and-processing-times-

And apparently, the deposit you're trying to make (with a 21£ fee) is not supposed to take more than 24 hours. Are you sure that you didn't get the money? Maybe you're just subject to the first-time fiat deposit 72 hours hold?

The normal BACS (UK) bank transfer is free and they 0-3 days, their "CHAPS" system is £21 and gets it in within 1 day. If I set up a new payee now, and pay £100, UK to UK it's their within 10 to 30 minutes. I don't see what Kraken are doing for it to take 3 days. It is now 3 days and money still not in. Kraken telling me they are unsure and there is nothing they can do about it! They use Payward lrd who handle their transactions. I am guessing they are either sitting on my money accruing interest or trying to force me to use their chaps £21 a time system.

The customer service levels of kraken have let me down here.

Anyway guys it's a a trivial matter, I don't want to keep wasting everyones time.

Thank you for all your help.
55  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best exchange out there??? on: January 27, 2021, 09:33:47 AM
I need fast deposit times.. (not waiting 3 days or asked to pay £21 for same day like Kraken).
Low fees..
Easy to use interface as well as more indepth analysis when I get there.
I want to be able to deposit money and act fast, not wait 3 days.

The only other one that's coming up after Kraken is Binance?

i assume you're in the UK? coinbase and coinbase pro support faster payments (FPS). bank transfers are supposed to hit your account within 1 business day. https://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbase/trading-and-funding/buying-selling-or-converting-crypto/how-long-does-a-purchase-or-deposit-take-to-complete

56  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best exchange out there??? on: January 26, 2021, 05:42:33 PM
The waiting time usually depends on the used payment method (bank in this case). I doubt that changing the exchange would be of any help.

Not sure what you're trying to accomplish exactly, but if you're looking to make some profit from the price volatility, then I would suggest using Stablecoins (USDT, USDC, etc.) instead of fiat.

No I am not trying to trade as such, I just want money in my account ready to go when I want to go...
Binance did say 2-24 hours///

What do you mean about stablecoins tho? This is new to me?

58  Economy / Exchanges / Re: DEPOSITING times on exchnages... on: January 26, 2021, 01:17:45 PM
What did you deposit on the exchange matters as it also shows or will tell how long it will take for the deposit to be successful, when depositing some tokens, you will be told how long it will take, that is, how many confirmations that is need before it will be successful and reflect on your dashboard, now if it takes longer than usual, it means something is wrong. If the deposit is successful from your end, then any issues being faced is from the exchange, hence you contact the support center of that exchange to understand what happened and how to solve it. On the other hand, if the deposit failed from your own end or is taking time, then you will to check what's wrong and maybe contact the team of the project for solution. However, when it comes to deposit of fiat, the exchange might take many things into account and in some cases, it might take time, depending on how fast they are in verifying what needs be.
Therefore, I don't know what you deposited, but if it's a token and successful from.your end, contact Kraken customer care and if it's fiat deposit and also successful from your end, contact your bank to be sure it is successful, then contact Kraken as well.
Different exchanges have their own mode of operation thus their services would be different and unique.

As stated above it's just GBP from my bank to kraken... anyway I think this post is taking up valuable forum space now... i wil get my money and open with another exchange...

PAYWARD ltd who handle the money for kraken will just be sitting on my money making interest, and also they are tryin to get me to pay for their "chaps" service which is £21 which gets money in - in 1 day....
59  Economy / Exchanges / Re: DEPOSITING times on exchnages... on: January 26, 2021, 12:47:49 PM
Where are you from? I could recommend some if your country is supported.

It's fine thanks. I will just wait another day... Not happy wth this because this is not how you work, waiting 3 days for your money... This is exactly the reason bitcoin was created! To bypass these thieving dinosaurs!!!!

Kraken also have an option called CHAPS and you have to pay £21 for the same day... hmmm... That's why it's taking so long!!

Can anyone else recommend a better exchange???

This is a joke now...
60  Economy / Exchanges / Re: DEPOSITING times on exchnages... on: January 26, 2021, 12:22:54 PM
I have deposited form my bank into kraken
Check their processing time for bank deposits.
https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000381846-Fiat-currency-deposit-options-fees-minimums-and-processing-times-
As for reading the processing time, I think what you're experiencing is normal and you only need to wait.

I agree.

My question is if OP's account is verified already, because if not, that might be the issue that is why KRAKEN making it delayed, especially if OP is depositing a large amount of money worth of cryptocurrency. The mostly reasons why exchangers are delaying a certain transaction is because they want to confirm that you are a legit customer, for security purposes, or it is just too traffic in the network.
Yes it's verified, was a 3 min job showing id...

Thanks for help, sorry to bog the forum down with trivial shit... I was more wondering if there were better exchanges to use???
