I don't know how people expect to "see" others spending their bitcoins. In any case, its time for this argument to die.
There is nothing on my shopping list, plans to purchase anything, that I can spend on. I said what I say from the statements I see on these boards. Seems as if very few are spending much as all. What this argument to die? Mark this thread read, ignore and move on, OK?

People prefer to own and spend BTC.
I don't see the spending part. Most here seem to be holding, with very little to no spending. Expecting others to spend for the benefit of those holding.

Isn't the whole point of bitcoins that we don't need any bank?
But that does not rule out the possibility. A bank could offer the service and those who chose to can take advantage of that service.

When did I say we should give $100 worth of bitcoin to people on this board? You seem confused, in general.
I didn't say you did, DUMB ASS.

I would be interested to know if the bitcoin is sold/traded for something or if it is just held
I wrote a brief paragraph pointing out the history of BTC values and what they may or may not do in the future.

More like this thread is a joke
It should be moved to the troll-post forum. I think you yourself, Tenarlty, and others that don't like this thread should keep posting, keep it alive.

Doing this could end up teaching your nephew some bad lessions about security and keeping private keys safe.
I wrote him a note explaining the basics and how he does not want to lose his "wallet". I closed the note by telling him to talk to me about what software to use and how to do it. Which he did, and he is good to go. He swept the wallet into our wallet of choice successfully. But you are correct, next I do need to make sure he has it backed up. He does live a distance from me, I can not hold his hand the whole time, and he does have parents who do understand the need to backup computer data. Edit: And the value, while may be substantial to him at his age, is not a great deal if it is lost. Regards,

it would definetly be helpfull, unlike bank accounts that are "for owners eyes only"
dont know will it stop scammers indefinetly, sure as hell it would make things much harder for them.
cheers
What I would ask is this. Once the donation in BTC was received and then immediately converted, exchanged into FIAT would not we be at the same place as if the donation was made in FIAT and the scam is in the works? Regards,

You don't wait for actual confirmations when you are paying for a subway or a starbucks coffee you stupid idiot.
If I wanted to, I could open my banks app on my smartphone, buy a Starbucks coffee with that banks ATM card and watch the money come out of my account before they start making it. I don't think you should be calling anybody a stupid idiot, know what I mean? Edit: Not only that, I can always see on the POS terminal where a PIN is required the word APPROVED when making a purchase. If that isn't confirmation to the merchant I don't know what is.

using bitcoin would realy show every movement of funds, thus making charity scamers unable to cheat anyone.
Do you really believe that? You really believe that using BTC would eliminate scammers and cheaters? Really?

But, collectively, we do have the power to make it less so.
Don't count on me for anything. You and your ideas sound like a complete nut job and bullshit.

This is a great promotional as it will bring more young people to know and use Bitcoin.
I agree. Along those same lines I gave my young nephew a paper wallet loaded with a little bit of BTC for his birthday.

He said "a homeless shelter"
You completely changed the topic.
No, that doesn't change my message at all. Giving bitcoin to homeless shelters is not going to spur innovation either. MIT students are far more likely to start some sort of program for the homeless using bitcoin than some overworked shelter which barely has enough manpower to hand out soup and blankets. You are living in a fantasy world. Give it to the students who will create the innovations in the network that will allow it to serve the homeless population well. Homeless shelters are not really known for technological innovation, in case your dumb ass didn't notice. You think anymore than maybe 1% or 2%, if even that, on these boards are using it for innovation? No they are no even spening it. They are holding and bullshitting about how rich and eliet they will be someday. You dumb ass.

I know you mean well, but you do not understand what you say. In order for BTC to ever help anybody, it needs to first be adopted by people who will actively develop it as a useful tool. Sorry, but that excludes every homeless person I have ever known. He said "a homeless shelter" You completely changed the topic.

I agree with this. Sometimes I wish mods would step in and delete fud threads or posts like this. Look how long this has carried on for and the op is long gone.
Seems to me you are part of the problem. Don't like this thread? Easy, mark as read, ignore, move on, Period.

People seem to forget what Bitcoin truly stands for sometimes and its disheartening. Bitcoin is not a get rich scheme or even remotely close to that.
Then you had better hope the average BTC user is nothing like the average poster here at this forum. Just look at some of the ridiculous threads and the even more ridiculous posts in those threads. I have never seen so many predictions about BTC price and I have never seen so many predictions about anything so far off.

Ok can someone explain how the transaction fees work?
I see things for sale that cost less than the fee it charges me.
The last fee I noticed was about $0.06USD, maybe a bit more, yes 6 cents. What are you seeing?

The risk is illusory. I promise.
OMG. You promise? What a nut case.

Do you think future employees of Fortune 500 companies will be paid in Bitcoin?
Do you think their employees will be happy to accept Bitcoin instead of a traditional paycheck?
related article: Blockchain.info CEO: We Pay Employees in Bitcoin. And Someday You Might, Too. http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/234463 Very few if any F500 companies will pay very few if any employees in BTC. A few may offer it and a few may accept.
