It doesn't sound like users of TOR will have to pay to use the network so I am wondering where will the value of the coin come from?

If Bitcoin's cryptography got cracked, we would have a lot more to worry about than just the security of Bitcoin, that's for sure!

Very interesting read! Not sure if it will play out exactly, but I think it is very obvious that BTC will be going back into the 4 digits very soon!

LOL, the title of this thread made me laugh as I completely forgot about that old movie with Tom Green ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I'm of the opinion that Litecoin is useless, and would soon be worthless if people took a closer look.
The LTC community is very complacent, riding Bitcoin's coattails with the expectation that once btc becomes mainstream the world will view ltc as the "silver to btc's gold". There won't be widespread merchant adoption of Litecoin. Bitcoin doesn't require a sidekick.
Good idea not asking on the litecoin forums. They have a Nazi moderator deleting criticism.
I share your opinion. Why on earth would anyone invest in Litecoin over Bitcoin? Because the logo is silver instead of gold? It's faster? None of these POW Scrypt coins are going to take off. The future will be Bitcoin and the next generation cryptos like NXT, Etherium, etc.

i think after he saw that he couldn't compete with others exchange he scammed everyone
otherwise all those efforts for a few btc, seem a waste of work...with fee his profit would have been greater for sure..
hmm i used sharexcoin for many times before it was good exchange, we can see many feature, i'm sure this exchange will have great potential to become big exchange but ziplibrary can't restrain himself after see many BTC volumes from qora trade, and stole our coins imho ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I agree with your theory. I do not think it started as a scam, but a couple of whales put large deposits on there and then greed got the best of the proprietor. I lost a small amount as I never fully trusted the site. Never again will I even waste my time with any exchange other than Mintpal or Cryptsy.

I agree, the days of the Scrypt crapcoins are coming to an end. Only a complete fool would be investing in mining equipment of any kind at this point.
Even Litecoin isn't going anywhere, which is not surprising as it offers absolutely nothing over Bitcoin!

Inflation is coming. Actually, it is already here unless you don't eat or buy gas. Best thing to do is have a diversification of cryptos and precious metals to survive the upcoming storm.

I'm just waiting for the stockmarket to CRASH violently, until that happens all economic news are peanuts. Salty and good, at best, but always very small and insignificant.
I see the crash coming as well, but there is no telling what that will do to the BTC price. Could go either way really.

You guys should strive to be more like mintpal and offer all the latest and hotest coins!

If I were you I would look at some of the "next generation" coins that offer some extra features such as built-in exchanges, marketplaces, etc.
For example, both exocoin and NEM will be 100% new code written from scratch with advanced features and they both have a pretty large community. NEM is 100% POS and EXO will be fully POS in 6 months. I think this is important because it appears that people are moving away from POW coins to greener solutions.
I personally feel that the only POW coins that will survive will be Bitcoin, Litecoin and Doge (not because Doge is good, just because it has a large following). For speculation purposes, I'd stick with the next gen coins as they have the highest chances of large price increases.

So tired of the "intrinsic value" argument (as if fiat currency has intrinsic value). What does have intrinsic value? Gold, silver I guess because of the time, effort and costs of producing them. What happens if major, easy to retrieve reserves are found someday? What happens if governments decide to tax the hell out of gold and silver so much so that nobody wants them anymore?
Value is whatever someone is willing to pay for something, plain and simple. If you have a house that some bureaucrat appraises at 10 million dollars, yet nobody wants to buy it from you, your house is effectively worthless. If someone wants to buy a Bitcoin from you for $500, it's value is $500, regardless of whether it is "intrinsic" or not.

All the ban stories coming out of China are nothing more than attempts to manipulate the price.

For local wallets I think Multibit is the best (and they are working on a new version that looks awesome). For convenience, blockchain.info FTW!

I hope they will have a service picking people up from the airport or else many might "forget" to make it to the conference ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

This doesn't make a whole lot of sense - why would Putin keep his stash in a country where the US could get to it?

Bitcoin is the financial platform of the future. Look for new "parallel chains" to be developed that will take Bitcoin to the next level.

It's really hard to say. Remember 2008? Stocks were pummelled, but so were precious metals. Cash was king.
If we go into a deflationary spiral, Bitcoin might fall along with everything else. If we end up in a scenario with the dollar falling and gold and silver rising, I can see Bitcoin skyrocketing as well. There's just no telling, especially with all the manipulations going on.
