Never mind. 5.6a does not support new AMD 21.4.1 drivers.
5.6a came out one day before the AMD 21.4.1 drivers were released, go figure. 21.3.2 runs well at least. AMD must have done some serious work under the hood of the drivers between the 21.1.1 release and 21.4.1 since even 21.2.1 and 21.2.2 had some issues(but wouldn't stop Phoenix from working). |

Generally, it shouldn't be necessary to code for specific versions of drivers, unless there is a significant design change in the drivers. So, it seems that 21.3.1 was a significant change compared to the previous drivers, and now, 21.4.1 is another significant change. 21.4.1 came out today, so I was checking if I was the only one who ran into problems with the new drivers, or if I needed to do a proper clean install. At this point, nothing indicates that a clean install would fix the problem. I just updated to the new AMD drivers(21.4.1), and PhoenixMiner seems to be choking(similar to when 21.3.1 came out with 5.5c. Radeon 6800 non-XT. Moving back to 21.3.2 for now.

why does your miner come as a virus and why does using it unleash a coinmer virus , i wonder what else phoenix miner dows while using it , probably scans your drives hoping for wallets to hack , how many people lost crypto if they had a wallet on the same system as mining i wonder , lets do a poll. if it comes up as a virus in the new version nobody should use it.
There are a number of viruses/malware that use mining engines. The idea is to infect as many computers as possible and then use them to mine for the author of the virus/malware. As a result, most legit miners are picked up as a "virus", because they don't know what is intentional mining and what is an infection. Not only that but they also use quite a few code obfuscation techniques common to malicious software, so a lot of DNN based heuristic detection systems flag them since very little legitimate software is so heavily obfuscated. That said I think explaining this to this particular individual, looking at his later posts, may be a lost cause. One of the signs that mining has peaked I suppose; even complete idiots barely capable of tying their shoelaces are trying to get in on it. Good point. I tried to explain it, but some people are unable to understand a basic concept. |

21.3.x versions are not compatible with Phoenixminer without command line fixes. 21.2.3 is what I am using. The next version of PhoenixMiner(5.6 or whatever it gets called) will address that, as well as other problems. Beta was supposed to come out this past week for it. Try backing off on your overclocks by 100MHz and see if that helps the NVIDIA cards. Hi, Im still new to mining and trying to figure stuff out as I go. Anyway I have 3 issues atm 1. Recently one machine just closes randomly, its ran for over 100hrs no problems but now it seems to lose stratum randomly. Machine has 3070 and 1070 in it atm. I just changed to the SSL port on pool, no clue if this will help. Is there any way to solve this? Which leads to issue 2 below trying to make a restart for miner. 2. I am trying to OC a 3070 and 1070 by command line in a .bat so I can use -mcdag 1 for Phoenixminer, How do I go about writing it for each GPU? -mcdag 1 -GPU1 -powlim 50 -cclock -456 -mclock +1407 -GPU2 -powlim 60 -cclock +203 -mclock +263 Would this work? Not sure if I should just try it. Eidt: Oh I just realised Im not sure how to set the fans either  3. Finally last issue is 6800xt im using newer drivers 21.3.2 and have to use -clkernel 0 I get message "Unknown OpenCL driver version! OpenCL platform: OpenCL 2.1 AMD-APP" Phoenixminer tells me I get 20%ish stale shares but still get 60-70mh/s over time, when I check my pool website it says normally 3% max is 5%. Is this actually an issue also considering Im in Australia and pool is in Asia. Get 160ms share returns. If i did downgrade to say 21.1.1 would this even make any difference? Thank you to anyone who can help me with any of this. |

A beta version was supposed to come out this week, meaning the full release of the next version may not come out for another 3-4 weeks. Beta is NOT a full release and may not even be an open beta for EVERYONE to get access to(the nature of beta itself isn't always an open one). Someone told me it might be delayed for 3 or 4 weeks, Not sure if that is totally correct however. |

The Etherium DAG is at 4.15GB right now, so any video card with 4GB will not do well when it comes to mining Etherium. The card itself might be able to borrow from main system memory to work, but performance will be severely degraded. Other types of mining can be done on 4GB, but Etherium will be problematic. can someone help me too, I have a R9 290X and below is what is working and it is hashing with very low speed of 0.171 MH/s and I just wondered why because when I use different tools like for example kryptex it's around 29 MH/s.
any help would be appreciated.

I have problem using phoenix with RX 570 8G
i attached only 1 RX 570 but phoenix detect 2 VGA

Hey Im new to this mining thing, I mined some etherium last month semi successfully. Im using a single AMD rx 5700 xt , it works but the miner would crash ocassionally. Every second or third day. From reading a bit here on the forums I see that rolling back the AMD drivers would help. Could you please suggest which exactly driver I should reroll to? Im using the latest one right now 21.3.1. Would it be possible to use some commands also to prevent crashing? I would like to keep the drivers up to date so that I can game on this PC as well. Here is the screenshot of the crash  21.3.1 and 21.3.2 are NOT compatible and have problems with Phoenix at the moment. The next version is going to fix it, but no information has been given on the version number or when it will be released. To be honest, 21.1.x was the last really good version. 21.2.1 crashed a LOT when trying to mine and web browse at the same time with my Radeon 6800(non-XT), 21.2.2 and 21.2.3 helped, but still had the occasional driver not responding and recovery(I am using 21.2.3 but performance is down a touch compared to the 21.1 series). |

hey, mining rig has crashed twice over the last 2 days and somehow uninstalled the amd driver with it....never had this happen before...using windows 10 64 bit, amd 12.20.1 driver, with 5.5c, running 3 580s and a 6800xt
AMD has its driver installers saved by default at c:\amd. So, just browse there and find the driver version you want to re-install. |

are adrenaline drivers same as blockchian drive? or should i use blockchain driver?
IMPORTANT! All owners of AMD cards with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM must either keep drivers 20.4.x or lower (do not upgrade to 20.5.1 or later), or upgrade to PhoenixMiner 5.2e or later version to continue mining after DAG epoch 384 (ETH will pass it before the end of 2020).  Since PhoenixMiner is up to 5.5c at this point, for the vast majority of people, there is no need to stick with the old AMD drivers as long as you aren't locked into an old version of PhoenixMiner(for whatever reason). Note that AMD drivers 21.3.1 and 21.3.2 have significant problems for mining at the moment, and many of us are waiting for the next version of PhoenixMiner, 5.6, or 5.5d, or whatever the next version gets called. Radeon Settings 21.1.1 worked very well, 21.2 series has a few issues from my experience, though 21.2.3 works decently(21.2.1 was problematic and 21.2.2 was better, but still had problems). |

Hi I just started mining a few days ago. I’m curious about this line that appears in the command prompt that says ‘GPUs Power: 22 Mh/s’
Can I confirm that it only refers to the power consumed by the GPU only?
What are some methods to monitor the power consumption of my entire rig?
I put all of my primary machines on a UPS(battery backup), so I see the power draw of everything that is on the battery+surge side. A 1500VA UPS will also keep those momentary power blips and dips from causing any system from restarting. Ryzen 9 3900X combined with a single Radeon 6800(slightly overclocked), monitor, router, cable modem has it at around 370W of power draw when mining. Gaming pulls a bit more and puts it into the 450W range for power draw for my system for example. Plenty of room to expand. |

Try updating the drivers to Radeon Software 21.1.1 and see if that helps. I've seen Windows updates that revert the drivers and break some things. Running the Radeon Software software may even say you have the wrong driver version when that happens. I'd suggest getting a replacement power supply. Many people don't realize that power supplies can degrade over time, and if the load is high, they will degrade faster than if you give yourself a lot of extra room. If you add up the power draw across all of your cards, then add 200W for the rest of the system overhead, you then want an extra 200W on top of that to play it safe(so spikes don't pull more than the power supply can handle). I'd suggest getting a replacement power supply. Many people don't realize that power supplies can degrade over time, and if the load is high, they will degrade faster than if you give yourself a lot of extra room. If you add up the power draw across all of your cards, then add 200W for the rest of the system overhead, you then want an extra 200W on top of that to play it safe(so spikes don't pull more than the power supply can handle). anyone having issues with RX 6800??
My 6800 Fighter is constantly fluctuating between 40 and 62mhs, from 100w to 180w, regardless of what settings I input in radeon wattman. But I dont know if its a compatibility issue, since I have all kind of cards in my rig (2x3080, 3070, 5700xt, 1080ti, 6800) and the Fighter is my main card( the one giving signal to the monitor) Anyone else experiencing same issue? I have noticed that Radeon 21.2.1 that I get driver crashes with PhoenixMiner. 21.2.2 and 21.2.3 helped reduce the number of "Driver not responding" warnings where the driver recovers, but that would explain some of the issue. 21.3.1 has been confirmed to not work with PhoenixMiner and a fix is expected in the next version(but no ETA has been stated yet). Now, because you are using different video cards in the same system, there COULD be some issue with cards not cooperating with each other and confusing the miner. You may want to make sure that for RDNA 2 cards that you don't have any other Radeon cards in the same machine for testing purposes, because something strange may be happening at the driver level. Note that I am fairly new to mining, and am very small scale(single GPU system), but I also have a PowerColor Fighter 6800, and while it works well with 21.1.1, I've seen the problems with the newer drivers. If my single GPU rig has driver problems, at least that isolates the source of problems. As I mentioned, Radeon Software 21.1.1 will be your best bet for use with PhoenixMiner. |
