41  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let's all take a moment to thank Apple on: September 09, 2014, 09:55:52 PM
Apple sells most of it's products to people with plenty of disposable income, and they might not worry about paying extra fees. Android users are more likely to have to ask how much something costs before buying it. They are unlikely to be happy paying extra Apple fees on top of VISA/Mastercard/AE.
42  Economy / Speculation / Re: So much crazy news these last couple of days... on: September 09, 2014, 09:49:27 PM
The Satoshi email account hack was the one that really surprised me. I never thought I would see the bitcoin download pages on sourceforge defaced.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is this the end of Bitcoin & Altcoin dream ????, Apple introduced "Apple PAY" on: September 09, 2014, 08:08:39 PM
Will Apple let people use Apple PAY on Android? I doubt it.

Businessinsider says Android has a 78% share of all users globally. Apple's iOS had just 18%

http://www.businessinsider.com/iphone-v-android-market-share-2014-5

Cnet says Android has a 51.5 percent US market share, and Apple's iOS trails with 42.4 percent.

There will likely be as many Dark coin clones as Nxt clones.
45  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2014- 1st time in history bitcoin has dropped on: September 09, 2014, 05:30:16 PM

One technical trader stated back in November that bitcoin is on a multi year down swing to $40.  Could he be right?

Which technical trader?
46  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin starting to look more and more like TULIP BULBS of 1600s on: September 09, 2014, 04:36:00 PM
tulips were all about being rare color and texture and being raised at X farm and were worth Y because of Z and also due to A and B and C and D that this tulip was better than E.

A few years ago people would have paid $1 million for a black tulip because nobody had bred one, so perhaps tulip mania is not quite dead. Someone has now managed to breed one, but they must wait before they can start selling because each year's bulb produces only two new bulbs. The price will be high when they finally start selling black tulips.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Smartcoin, Pixelcoin, MyriadCoin, eKrona, Execoin, PMC, Mazacoin, Spaincoin on: September 09, 2014, 03:50:36 PM

Smartcoin SMC, is now so low priced, its a rock bottom deal, perhaps with no where to go but up

I thought Doge was dead, then it went up, so the same might happen to Smartcoin. I have some Exe coins, but I lost money on them like solid12345.
48  Economy / Speculation / Re: If fallling didn't exist, what would the price be right now? on: September 09, 2014, 03:42:26 PM
goxed,no one with a college degree will invest any serious sums into bitcoin after MTGOX fiasco, The market is currently only a playground for gamblers and fanatics
I have 3 degrees and 98% of my life savings is in Bitcoin.

Tsk tsk.

Why have you got three degrees, and how long ago did you put 98% of your life savings in Bitcoin?

51  Economy / Speculation / Re: $440 will be broken faster with PayPal's help on: September 09, 2014, 12:08:29 PM

Actually paypal will require a much higher market cap in order for BTC to function throughout their platform.

They are only considering using it for mobile phone use through braintree. Nothings happened yet, and they are not considering directly using it through paypal.

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC may soon test $200 levels very cheap stuff to buy on bidcoind.com on: September 09, 2014, 11:43:47 AM
Why do you think BTC may soon test $200 levels?
54  Economy / Speculation / Re: I PANICKED on: September 09, 2014, 12:55:56 AM
I am now selling my car for more bitcoin

I wish I had a car to sell.

you have kidneys. one can do.
Your neighbors have kidneys too! A dozen will make you much more money, and keep your business model sustainable beyond the short term!

Give em the old chroloform-icebath one-two! Always stay business-minded.

You would get into less trouble for stealing a dozen neighbor's cars than a dozen neighbor's kidneys.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DGC] The DigitalCoin Foundation to take on future DigitalCoin Development on: September 09, 2014, 12:18:25 AM

we are working on several technical upgrades to DigitalCoin to further stabilize the network and provide the reliability we've come to expect from our coin

These changes don't include a swap to PoS or anything do they?
56  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is stabilizing? on: September 08, 2014, 11:14:55 PM
After the last flash crash, the price fall 19% in a month. Now, for some reason the price is stabilizing at 475-480 USD.

Would you tell this is the price we're going to keep the rest of 2014 or there will be some changes?

It's weird how the price crashed down to 465 right after you posted this.
57  Economy / Speculation / Re: I PANICKED on: September 08, 2014, 11:02:57 PM
I am now selling my car for more bitcoin

Was it an expensive car, or a cheap one? How many bitcoins can you buy with the money from the sale?

59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spin-offs: bootstrap an altcoin with a btc-blockchain-based initial distribution on: September 08, 2014, 09:56:52 PM
Just posting to say that I think the concept of spin-off coins is a fantastic idea and is the fairest method of initial coin distribution I've heard of.

I guess it depends on what you mean by fair. Fair as to the top 1% of Bitcoin stake holders, yes. Fair as to the bottom 99% of Bitcoin stake holders, no.

This technique could be used to create a coin that only rewards the bottom 99% of Bitcoin stake holders, and excludes the top 1% of Bitcoin stake holders. Would you consider that fair?
60  Economy / Speculation / Re: BREAKING: PAY PAL INTEGRATES BITCOIN on: September 08, 2014, 06:35:59 PM
