41  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 19, 2011, 01:58:20 AM
optimal for efficiency, variance, or the best of both? Also what size pools are you using and how many of each?

this is my setup:

Iīm starting with: "--auth xxxx, xxxx --scheduler OldDefaultScheduler  --startLP --p2pLP" (v0.1.9.1-18)

I donīt get the difference between efficiency and variance, I want more bitcoins! hehe

------

BTW, if I put a pool under "mine_deepbit", it still scrapping their stats? I ask that cause btcpool, for ex., is set as "mine_deepbit" but every time that resets their stats bh thinks they start a new block, so... are they announcing false blocks in the LP too??

And bclc have no idea how it works, the stats show some thing, bh other and sometimes they change their stats in itīs web (delayed i guess) but bh keeps counting the previous round, and other times bh shows 150% (ex.) and the pool stats show round duration of 9hs! I think that something is wrong

Witch Switches/parameters do I need to start BH in a "optimal" state?

At the moment (0.1.8-8) I got: --auth user, pass --startLP --p2pLP
(& suppose nothing for --scheduler means "DefaultScheduler", or is better to set it with "OldDefaultScheduler")

@paraipanakos: that works, thanks! I run it without --auth, then Iīll try to set up my workers with the same user/pass as in the auth command just to see if work
44  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 17, 2011, 12:47:44 PM
I canīt make it work neither of the two latest versions of bh I download (0.1.7.2-65 / 81). Both starts ok but then my miner, guiminer, doesnīt connect... I donīt get any getwork

I go back with the 0.1.7.2-53 and works fine... any suggestions?
45  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 16, 2011, 07:40:53 PM
Thereīs something wrong with that pool anyway.. I have submited 1576 shares and have an estimated of 0.03683698, so making simple maths the total shares at the moment must be something near 2139154 shares.... and BH is showing 1524666 84,44%, is a lot of difference

Edit: Iīam getting a lots of "unknown work" in the bh console? is that bad?
46  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 16, 2011, 05:00:38 PM
Anyone with problems with Ozco? It doesnīt show me any "est.earnings" and i send about 800 shares!

Edit: wich one of these commands works better or are necessary with the "mine_deepbit" mode? or the three of those at the same time?

--startLP = Seeds the LP module with known pools.
--noLP = Turns off client side longpolling*
--p2pLP = Starts up an IRC bot to validate LP based hopping

*i donīt understand what this one does..
47  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 15, 2011, 03:11:28 AM
BTW, Slush with "mine_slush" with penalty at 0.5 FTW !! Smiley
48  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 15, 2011, 03:02:34 AM
Getting error in pool api for Polmine and rfc and also bitcoinpool but that is probably because I tried to figure out by myself the right pool.cfg settings for bcpool to mine_deepbit.  Anyone have these working?

Try polmine with "mine_deepbit", itīs working very good for me. RFC close down, disable it. And bitcoinpool by default at "mine_deepbit" work ok too..
49  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 15, 2011, 12:53:11 AM
@c00w (and all the colaborators): I think everything is working flawlessly !!! -v0.1.7.2-14-

(except deepbit, the first time it finds a block mines ok, but every second time the workers just die... i mean in every restart of the bh, then i disable it cause that problem)

Iīm a little confused with the lp_penalty... witch pool do i have to give more time, the one with the more false-positives or the others? if i have 4-5 pools with "mine_deepbit", do i have to give them the same delay or in certain order??

Thanks!!

Edit: Iīm looking at the bclc stats and match perfectly with the ones in the bh stats, and itīs set to mine_deepbit... this is ok?

50  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 14, 2011, 09:27:36 PM
Iīm getting good results with "mine_deepbit" in:
bitclockers / polmine / bitcoinpool (testing) / bclc (testing)

but no with the pool that give that mode itīs name hehe

BTW, Digbtc is fakin their stats now or is down?

About the previous Hop Thresholds conversation:

I donīt really get to understand the simulation youīre running, but making my quick numbers, the shorter the round the more valuable share, until 1*diff, then devaluates with every share (vs. PPS), BUT previous that <100% every share you submit helps mantain the value of all of the previous shares. Now Iīm testing with lower penaltys (0.9/0.8/0.7) to see some real world results. If I make it to something positive, Iīll post it

Edit: with 0.1.7.2-14 version
51  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 13, 2011, 11:56:25 PM
Iīm with latest version 0.1.7.1-30, donīt know why but: Polmine at the instant i run bh, shows the real percentage ad share count, and when it start a round resets to 0% and hop there and mine ok... but with bclc and db nothing of that happens

I think for moment i go back to mine bclc with the old pools.cfg, I know is not the real stats but i least i take some BTC in there that way... and with DB, donīt know.. I think i can live without it until it works, no problem!

btw, bitclockers is fakin the stats too?? just when i thought it starting to mine better there, with less "reconections" (?)
52  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 13, 2011, 02:28:17 PM
I tested version 0.1.7.1-6, stats page donīt work (blank page), went back to 0.1.6.2-16*

*Having some problems with bcpool, It keeps reseting to 0% after some time, but when I look into the webpage the round still counting
*Same problems with db and bclc as I mention in previous posts (shares keep counting and counting, never find a new round)

Edit:@Endeavour79: which user or pass?
set with
bithopper.py --auth user,pass
login to stats with those.

Is non-slicing scheduler still available ? it isnt listed in readme anymore

Sorry but i donīt get it... i donīt have any user or pass related to bh, only for the workers and i have 3 differents

About bcpool, I think theyīre starting to fake their stats when a block gets X size (>diff or diff*1.X-2), so "we" hop there and help it finish. I think this because i hop there in previous short rounds (~2-3hs) and got no problems and get payed very well Smiley

^ youīre quick man!! hehe..

what is the beneffit of that, or what value do you recommend?
55  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 12, 2011, 11:36:51 PM
@c00w: I donīt know if this is what youīre asking, but i think no, deepbit is in yellow and the share count of the round count normal, but my miner (GUIMiner x3vgas), just stop.

Iīll try to run BH with --debug so i can give you more details! (if it worth it, you tell me)
56  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 12, 2011, 11:07:44 PM
@deepceleron: I donīt understand your final request.. (iīam from Arg. so my english is not that good), if you can explain me better i can help, i got a btcmine account

---

Iīm with latest version 0.1.6.2-1, and deepbit doesnīt work.. when start a round my miner just die. I wait for about 2-5 min. and nothing, so i disable it and hop to another pool, then the share count of db never stops...

As i said, Polmine is working really good, and BCLC founds blocks that doesnīt belong to it (i mean in BH, resets to 0 but the stats in its web keeps counting for hours), so iīam mining it "the old way"

Maybe the problem is my location, Argentina?

57  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 12, 2011, 12:50:44 AM
Nope.. leave it at default "1" (0.43)

-perhaps in some screen I posted was 0.87 (50%) but those were some tests with "mine_deepbit" or when thereīs nothing to hop to-

Edit: when i take that screen i was with 0.1.6.1-20 or -18, but with the pools.cfg edited pretty sure
58  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 11, 2011, 11:27:51 PM
Donīt know why but "mine_deepbit" is working amazing with Polmine, but not with deepbit.. once it mines a block the shares keep counting and counting, and when i disable it for a while and re-enable it, when find the start of a round the workers doesnīt start..

With BCLC, i edit the new pools.cfg with the "old" one (with the json method) and just "mine" and give me good results:

(Iīam with the newest version 0.1.6.1-24 & 1Gh/s)

Edit: I think when I send more shares the rounds was very large, and when I send a few is because BH was hopping between pools

59  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 11, 2011, 06:21:14 PM
My deepbit shares keep counting:

maybe the largest block ever? Cheesy

And BCLC, rests to 0 many times but the round in the stats keep going for the past 2 hours, I think BH is showing it wrong...

Quick idea: is posible that bclc is showing the starts of deepbit rounds as its own?? looking the statistics in DB could match those starts

(both pools in "mine_deepbit")

And a lot of mining in arscoin here too, but i guess itīs because thereīs not much to hop to at this moment

Edit: another block in polmine.. "mine_deepbit" here is working very well !
60  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 11, 2011, 04:02:59 PM
I donīt know then... in the latest version (0.1.6.1-20) there is nothing to edit in the pools.cfg, it came like that with the re_rate_type.

In previous versions i have the same issue, but now itīs ok
