41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Crypto Projects Will Be 100X In 2022? on: January 03, 2022, 06:01:50 AM
100x is a lot and anyone saying they know which coin will move that much is probably lying. You've listed lots of great tokens and projects, but they're all pretty big already and have huge market caps. SHIB has a market cap of $18,568,053,663 right now and you think it can move 100x that? Do you realize how much money would need to come into that token for such an event to happen? MANA moved a heck of a lot towards the end of last year. I could see that continuing this year, but probably not 100x...

Personally, I think if a token is going to move 100x this year it's probably going to be something you don't see in the CMC Top 50 because it will have a smaller market cap than all of those which you listed. That's my opinion..
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of the NFTs on: January 03, 2022, 05:55:05 AM
Personally, I think we'll start seeing more NFT stuff in the Metaverse. People are already decorating their virtual houses with NFT art and it won't surprise me if some Metaverse projects begin making their own NFTs for their metaverses. People will still buy them to hold and sell on sites like OpenSea, but I do think we'll start to see that visual art have more of a role in this new virtual world everyone is talking about. I think crypto gaming is something else that's continuing to grow, which could soon start to feature more NFTs as well.
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people sending transitions to Satoshi's first bitcoin wallet on: January 02, 2022, 10:31:52 AM
Up to 68.52796861 BTC now.. My guess would be that people do this as a "thank you" or for good luck. There are lots of superstitious people out there and lots who have gotten rich because of bitcoins. Maybe they feel contributing some back (maybe even X amount of each transaction they do with bitcoins) will bring them continued success and prosperity. Who really knows...Maybe it's Satoshi burning is own coins, lol..
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins mining on: January 02, 2022, 10:22:51 AM
I think there's an app out there called MinerGate which might let you mine from your phone. But as previously mentioned, there isn't much point to doing it. Phones don't have enough power to mine much of anything. It'll probably drain your battery pretty quick and even running 24/7 for a day will probably yield less than a penny. Spend your time doing airdrops or something rather than trying to mine from a mobile phone.

46  Other / Off-topic / Re: BTC vs Testla which do you prefer? on: January 02, 2022, 10:14:55 AM
I'd happily take the 1 BTC....Bitcoin will go up in value over time, the Tesla won't.
47  Other / Off-topic / Re: Regrets of 2021 on: January 02, 2022, 10:12:17 AM
My biggest crypto regret was picking up $MANA when it was around $0.30 and selling it at 100% ROI.. Wish I had held it longer! I did make some good profits with $SHIB and $ELON though.
48  Other / Archival / Re: Don't use institutional BTC purchases as a signal of imminent growth on: January 02, 2022, 07:26:47 AM
I was just reading an article yesterday that talked about institutional investors and the projection that there would be even more institutions "getting into the game" next year (2022)... While I agree that we can't just look at institutional buys to determine if the market is going to be bullish/bearish, I still think it's a good sign that more and more institutions are adding money to the crypto markets. Personally, I've thought of these institutional buys and longer term holds. These companies aren't buying all that bitcoin and then just sitting back and day trading with it. They're buying and stashing because they're confident we'll see BTC get to $100k eventually. The institutional buys are a good thing for crypto overall because it's adding big money to market caps, but I certainly wouldn't use them as a buy or sell signal. Part of why I believe we saw a dip in December is because some of these institutions were unloading some of their BTC before having to close their books for the year.
49  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Mining on: January 02, 2022, 07:20:08 AM
You would probably need to use your phone to mine another coin (like XMR) and then convert that over to BTC. But keep in mind, you won't mine much of anything from a mobile phone. It doesn't have the power that's really needed to make mining worthwhile. And keep your battery charger close by, cause mining on a cell phone will probably drain the battery extremely fast.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin new year on: January 02, 2022, 07:09:50 AM
Regardless of December, Bitcoin had a fantastic 2021 and I believe 2022 will be even better. Each year we see growth and more adoption of crypto, so let's hope things continue in 2022. Happy new year to all the other Bitcoin fanatics out there!  Grin
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HAPPY NEW YEAR on: January 01, 2022, 11:31:52 AM
Happy new year to everyone on Bitcointalk! Not sure this is the right area for this post OP (probably should be in Off-topic), but I hope you all have a nice, healthy and prosperous 2022! Let's all hope the markets soar to new highs and our coins all moon  Cool
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The moment of truth on: January 01, 2022, 11:28:30 AM
I do think now that it's the new year things could start to pick back up, but I wouldn't say it's going to be today (January 1st) and things are just going to boom to where they were before. Sure, that would be nice and all, but it might still be a week or two before the bulls start running again. You're right that these next few days will be interesting to see, and I hope things start going upwards sooner rather than later. But, let's see it get back up and hold above $53-$54k before we start putting the 60's out there, lol... Just have some patience, I don't think this bull market is going to last forever.
53  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Not too late to meet up on: January 01, 2022, 11:24:46 AM
If someone doesn't get into a coin early enough they have no one to blame but themselves. Sure, we all wish we had bought Bitcoin back when it was a $1, but darn near everyone missed out on that. Every year we see coins take off and it's just a matter of being in on one of them when it happens. If someone were complaining to me about missing out on a token going to the moon, I'd probably tell them they need to work a little harder at trying to determine which will be next.

It happened a couple years ago, it happened in 2021 as well, I suspect it will happen again in 2022. Just a matter of trying to figure out which token(s) it will be! As some would say, that's the million dollar question...
54  Other / Serious discussion / Re: What's your opinion on Telegram? on: December 31, 2021, 10:01:29 AM
I very rarely use Telegram. I know lots of people like it, but here are my biggest complaints...

1) Chats move way too fast once the groups get active. I know things get hectic when you've got 50,000 people all in one chat room. But leaving my computer for 15 minutes and having to scroll back through 200+ messages when I get back is just ridiculous..
2) I don't like the phone number requirement. Assign me a number if you want, but I do much more from the desktop than I do from mobile, and I don't like having to signup to a website using a mobile number..
3) I hate that people can just add me to groups. I'll be offer Telegram for like a month and open it up and suddenly I was added to like 3 groups I don't want to be in.

Those are the main reasons I almost never use Telegram. Kinda sucks because there are lots of crypto-related groups on there!
55  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading platform on: December 31, 2021, 09:56:26 AM
If you're looking to day trade then you definitely want an exchange that's going to have reasonable fees and be well reputable. Personally, I think Kucoin or Binance would be best for what you're wanting to do. FTX might be another option. Just make sure it's an exchange that is well reputable. Day traders usually keep a lot of money in their accounts so if I were you security (and lots of pairs/tokens) would probably be the two most important things. Hope this helps!
56  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Millennial trading formula on: December 31, 2021, 09:51:40 AM
I don't think that things have really changed that much. I'm not a super technical guy, but I used many of the same indicators in crypto as I used to in forex.. things like Fibinacci levels, bollinger bands, moving averages..etc. I find that most of these indicators are still pretty darn good it's just the market is much more volatile..
57  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Trading Bots on: December 31, 2021, 09:49:15 AM
Never used one and don't plan on using one anytime soon. Think of it this way... If it were really that easy then everyone would be rich from it. No matter what you read or see, I doubt that's the case with trading bots. Bots have been around for stocks and forex long before crypto came around, and most were scams. If you were really skilled you might be able to make one somewhat profitable, but I prefer to look at charts and open/close trades manually rather than relying on a bot to do it for me..
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Metaverse a bubble? on: December 31, 2021, 09:14:21 AM
Personally, I don't think it's going to be a bubble. Not when you have companies like Facebook involved. I think the "metaverse" will be the future of social networking and gaming. With that will come other things like growth in NFTs..etc. For instance, one day getting on Facebook might not be just logging in from your computer to a home screen, but logging into something that looks like a virtual world where your character might work a virtual job and have virtual NFTs hanging in their virtual house. Depending on the technology, I think the Metaverse has the ability to be its own alternate world where we will each have characters (that we've designed to look like us, or who we want to be) and when people experience that I think it will become just as big as xbox, playstation and other forms of gaming.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A different December indeed on: December 31, 2021, 08:24:26 AM
Take this from it... Past results do not guarantee future returns.

The crypto markets haven't been very good to us this December, but I'm still confident it will turn around. You're right that the whole $100,000 BTC thing is pretty much impossible now, but the coin is still way up over the year, and so are many others like Ethereum. December hasn't been great, but 2021 overall has been pretty good. Let's hope things turn back around in January!
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question about Dev Wallet Checker/Rug Check on PooCoin on: December 30, 2021, 05:45:53 AM
Thanks for the replies! Those are some excellent tips and pointers @Pahom - very informative. If you don't mind me asking, I have a couple of follow up questions...

1) When checking top holders, what kinds of numbers give you a red flag? Only a few holders with huge percentages? Lots of holders with more than 10% each? What do you find to be a "bad" sign when looking at holders?
2) How do you check if the contract is open? Do you just mean whether you're able to view the source code? Also, by verified do you mean the contract having the green checkmark?

@Teraboy - I hadn't noticed this feature either until today. Not sure how new or old it is, or like you said, how accurate it is. Maybe it's possible to get more help with it in their Subreddit or something, because there is very little I've found on the site thus far. Anyways, thanks for the helpful tips about checking for team members/pictures, development..etc.
