41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Mining on: June 20, 2014, 03:22:06 PM
Hey guys, I have a question that I want to run by you.

I have an i7 4700k and a 270x.

If I point both to the same pool does it mess with the stratum connection? I seem to be having weird issues with connectivity and hashrate. I assumed that there is no problem with pointing many miners to the same address and port but I thought I would ask here to make sure that isn't my problem.

Thanks all.

For API I would love to simply have the updated buy and sell prices. But thinking of it I can probably grab those and parse them into a program from your site anyways. Maybe if you made a JSON page that would be just as good.

By Whitepaper I mean your ideas and thinking behind your algorithms and specifics on how they actually work. SO yes open source along with the conceptual or philosophical reasoning as well.

Thanks again for your work and contribution to the community!

I love your work with this neural networking predictions. Great work on constantly making it more accurate and presenting info in new ways. I congratulate you on your success so far.

NOW! I want a couple things. (heheheheh greedy forum member.)

IF it's possible I'd love to see:

1. API

2. Whitepaper

If i can help in any way too I'd be down.

Thanks again for this awesome tool to use as a trade signal for the BTC.

Hey all! I follow this thread regularly and mine Monero as well. I will have this dust problem soon when I transfer some to another wallet. NOW, I have a question for you guys.

The dust problem is because of so many smaller transactions adding up to send a larger problem correct?

SO, can I avoid this dust problem by buying a larger amount of Monero thereby creating a large incoming transaction and then sending the amounts through?

Any thoughts on this? I am going to be mining at a smaller pool as well to solve this issue.

Hi Guys, been following this thread and mining for about a week now. I am using the wolf-multi may 29th releae and I have and i7 4700k. I beleive that I do indeed have the AES-NI on my chip and have tried using 8 threads, 7 threads, 6 threads and now 4 threads using information in this thread however the best results are still with 8 or 7 threads. SO, I am probbaly doing somehting wrong or the code isnt optimized for my machine (hardware, software config) here is a full rundown for information for others in the same boat.

Wolf-Multi CPU may 29th 2014 release
Intel i7 4770k with NO overclock on BOIS

Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
16GB RAM 1600MHZ on profile 1 (Through BOIS)

Hashrate in H/s
Hashrate at 8 threads - 145 - 160
Hashrate at 6 threads - 171 to 202
Hashrate at 4 threads - 174 to 189

IF anyone needs or wants more info I can post. I just hope i have helped the developers and others that are reading.

Yes I would like to know how to change or modify the wallet password.

When I open my wallet the first thing I do is enter a password. This is what I would like to change.

AHA!  I used the refresh command and NOW I AM SEEING THE COINS COME IN!

Sorry for polluting the forum with my ignorance again. I DO have one more question

How do you change the password on a wallet?

Okee so now back to my noobness and questions.

I have now updated my block chain and the daemon says it is up to date.

My wallet says the address is the same as the one I see stats updating for on extreemhash.

I apparently have almost 1 full coin now according to stats page on extreemhash.

When i check balance on wallet program it returns with 0. (Block chain says it is up to date and gives me a block height of 54365.)

I believe I am mining fine. I am mining on extreemhash using stratum and the wallet address is updating the stats ect. My problem is I am confused as to how to check my wallet's actual balance and whether or not I OWN the coins.

In bitcoin I have a wallet program and I can see my balance and i have the private keys stored in wallet.dat I can backup that file and encrypt it ect.

What is the equivalent of wallet.dat for monero? I am under the assumption it is a file like 'wallet.keys'. If that's the case then how do I 'sweep' the keys into a wallet program or import those keys.

I have very little understanding of this with the current monero framework and again I apologize for my noobness. Perhaps I can write a small guide once this is settled.

Thank you btw for helping my through this and for your quick replies.

No worries.

Have you synced the block chain yet/ is your wallet open? If not follow this guide http://www.monero.cc/getting-started/index.html#monero-install-1

This shows you the batch file you need to run to open the wallet and sync the block chain.(Im guessing you've probably done this though as you have your address)

Then to check you balance, within the simple wallet window type refresh and the wallet will sync and show your coins.

OOOOOHHH KKKKAAAYYY

So, the simple miner i used generated just the wallet.keys file. I NEVER synced blockchain or even had the wallet program. I used the batch script and changed the file 'wallet.keys' to 'wallet.bin.keys' it shows my public address as correct. And now I guess I am waiting for the blockchain to sync.

ALSO, i have a daemon is busy error. BUT I assume this is because the blockchain is downloading? I have another window that says 38 days behind. AND I assume this is downloading the blockchain.

I have to admit this is pretty neat. Thanks for all your help!

Hi again! Sorry I am a total noob to how Monero works in comparison to other coins I have mined before. I started by booting up 'simpleminer' it gave me a 'wallet address text file' and a 'walle't file and a 'wallet.keys' file. I am now using a new miner because it increased my hash rate drastically. But I am using the same wallet address. Now, I have never used the wallet program nor do I know exactly which version to try out. Is my wallet the 'wallet.keys' file? Or am I currently mining to no-where-land. I just want to make sure I am mining for a reason and that my monero isn't going to be lost in the ether. I had a reply in how to import my wallet but i do not have a 'bin' file. Thanks  to eveyrone  who helps out in here while monero is growing. Noobs like me need dummy proof gui lol.

Which miner are you using ?

I am using cpuminer-multi. it's a minerd base.

Hi Guys! I was wondering how to import a *.keys file into my wallet client. Been trying but no luck. If someone knows it would be a great help.
