41  Other / Off-topic / Re: What was the price of btc when u had your first btc/satoshis? on: July 31, 2021, 07:37:16 PM
I never gave BTC any serious thought until I began to hear that the price is $4k. I was like  Shocked this can't be possible. And so did the interest start.

What I will advise you is that you should not be in a hurry to start making huge profits. Every investment is a process, so also is crypto. Don't look at the earnings of those that are already veterans in crypto trade. Your focus should be on learning as much as you can about trading. Identify your own trading strategy and build on it. There will be mistakes and losses along the way, but with persistence and continuous learning, you will get better and then the profits will start rolling in.

My most memorable scene in a movie was in the epic movie, The Good The Bad, and The Ugly, when Tuco was in the bath and an enemy came in to kill him. The guy started talking long stories of how long he had been looking for Tuco. Unknown to him, Tuco was with his gun in the water. While the guy was still talking, Tuco shot him from the bath and then said something that I can never forget, "If you wanna shoot, shoot don't talk".
44  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: That feeling having your first merit on Bitcointalk on: July 30, 2021, 08:38:38 PM

Merit does not decide your quality or your contributions. Indeed, your contributions and your post quality decide how many merits you will receive.

You're likely not a spammer so please keep up your good works and don't mind much about merit. Merit will find you.

Thanks for these last statements in your reply, they are quite encouraging to a newbie like me who is trying to understand more about the forum. I will just keep my head down and continue being as productive as I can be. Merit will surely find me
45  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Things to know before trading. on: July 30, 2021, 06:33:59 PM
Trading is a two-way thing: it can be very rewarding and it can wipe you out completely. There are basic things about trading that every aspiring trader must be aware of. Trading requires skill and a lot of practice. There is so much you can learn from your coach while being trained. However, the main knowledge is gained by constant practice! practice! practice!

Secondly, you must have control over your emotions and have financial discipline. Above all, do not commit more than 10% of your trading capital to any trade and trade with money you can afford to lose.

Don't you ever have something nice to say?

I wouldn't have thought this could be possible in this part of Germany. The towns along the river valleys seem to have been there for centuries and have a good handle on how to deal with all that water. But apparently not.

A lot of natural disasters that were not normal a few decades ago are now becoming more frequent. I guess it has to do with climate change. Nothing seems to be the same again

This is the first time I am reading about the electrum wallet. Thanks for sharing the information, it was quite enlightening. I have a mentor who also gave me this same advice of how it is not wise to leave all my bitcoin in exchange. But the wallets I have for now are Trustwallet and Imtoken.

This is the kind of brainwashing they give to people before they finally take away your rights and whatever makes us free thinking human beings.
49  Other / Off-topic / Re: Share your reason why you started to play Cryptocurrencies on: July 29, 2021, 08:56:08 AM
I heard about bitcoin a long time ago but didn't understand much about it. To make matters worse, I was in the midst of people that were pessimistic about it, (be careful of the company you keep  Wink they could build or destroy your dream). It took a discussion with a friend for me to understand it better and start the journey.
50  Other / Off-topic / How do you save your money? on: July 28, 2021, 10:21:30 PM
After you have taken out the cash you need for personal use and the one you use for your investments, how do you save the remaining ones for that rainy day?

Do you leave it in a savings account or fixed deposit? WRONG. Inflation will depreciate the value of your money.

Do you use it to buy stocks from the stock exchange? Not so good. Stock market crashes regularly and de-value the worth of your stock.

Do you put everything into your crypto wallet and use everything to buy cryptocurrencies? Not the best idea, cryptocurrencies are very volatile and can lose value as fast as they can gain it.

So what do you do?

The answer is…..GO GOLD.

Gold is as old as modernity, but despite how long it has been around us, it has never lost its importance or value. You may wonder what is it that gold has that should make it a better means of saving your reserve cash?

It has all the qualities that all the other forms of saving your money have and more. It is a form of investment, it appreciates, and it can be converted to cash easily.

However, what stands it apart is just one word: Stability. Gold does not fluctuate in value as all the other assets and investments do. Rather, it grows stronger when the market is in crisis and remains relatively stable when the market is bullish.

So go on, make a move. Secure your hard-earned money in gold. If you do not know how to go about it, use your search engine and find out more about gold investment and how to benefit from it.
51  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam Alert] Scammer Impersonating Binance on Telegram on: July 27, 2021, 04:34:56 PM
Scam in the Telegram app has become very rampant. In just a few months since I joined the crypto business, I have been added to 5 different scam groups that offered to sell bitcoin at a ridiculously cheap price. The very first one I was added to got me suspicious, when I was added to more groups with similar M.O, I understood the game they were playing and exited.
52  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Another new phase of Convid-19 due to unvaccinated people on: July 27, 2021, 09:43:14 AM
The problem with the spread of covid-19 is that the fight is not being treated in a holistic manner. The world has become a global village and there is free movement of people from one country to another. Therefore, the fight against covid-19 through vaccination should be holistic, not country by country. As you are concentrating on vaccinating your country's people, citizens of less vaccinated countries will render it less effective through free movement.
53  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Olympics is a disaster on: July 26, 2021, 09:36:45 PM
One problem that is reoccurring in this world is that our leaders in all spheres pretend that they have the interest of the people at hand. But when it is time for big decisions to be made, they chicken out. This is more pronounced when a financial loss is involved. Japanese economy needs to recoup some of the heavy investments made. IOC also needs to satisfy their corporate sponsors to be able to pocket the money they've been paid. It is really unfortunate.
54  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2,371 people abducted in Nigeria in first half of 2021 on: July 26, 2021, 09:14:48 PM
I guess that the Nigerian government's problem with cryptocurrency is not really about kidnappers and bandits demanding the payment of a ransom in crypto. They may be using that as an excuse to justify their reason for trying to shut it down.

However, the main reason is that many people used crypto to contribute to the funding of the demonstration against police brutality in October of 2020. The Nigerian government was able to trace and block the bank account of those that used fiat to make their contribution. On the other hand, they could not trace or block the wallets of those that used bitcoin to contribute.
