41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: P2P Dusting Attack And How Not to Become a Victim on: October 13, 2023, 01:19:38 PM
This article is very educative and I have become more aware of some vulnerabilities that symbiote with owning crypto currency and wallets.
Even the real world bank account holders still suffer the fate of hackers and scammers and fall prey to these phishing sites unknowingly, let alone on a decentralized network.

The key is to always be mindful before clicking on any pop up of freebies that would normally not be there or is too good to be true from a site we have never visited. Also, to use offline wallets from what I have learnt so far is also better than using online wallets that easily use same network to connect to our devices.
42  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need advice on getting merits on: October 13, 2023, 11:28:51 AM
An advice coming from someone with lesser merit than most is, just keeping showing your dedication and contribute in more boards than one to the discussion and analysis.
I also think there are some term usage that might show that one is merit worthy and to know these terms means we as newbies have understood what this forum is all about and the message of Bitcoin it is trying to teach is grasped in the smallest bit.
43  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture vs oil on: October 13, 2023, 11:21:26 AM
Oil is important but agriculture is a compulsory solution to world hunger and poverty rate. Agriculture provides the main needs of shelter, clothing, food, income and employment to those in the sector and to a whole nation, but oil may only be used in its diverse forms of pms, diesel, kerosene for occasional purposes even though it provides income and employment as well.

I know oil has helped many countries improve their nGDP after export or import and resales of the product. It has been the more invested in because of the huge profit that it provides in the instant as compared to agriculture that may require some processes longer or more tedious than the already established refining of oil.
44  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: We don't like discussing bitcoin on: October 13, 2023, 11:01:43 AM
You made a wonderful observation by the way OP, and it is evidently clear that our Bitcoin knowledge including mine is very small. It's not as if the interest to discuss or create topics isn't there, it's just that many of the topics about Bitcoin may have been discussed previously and it becomes hard to dwell on a subject that has long been discussed mostly coming from newbies.

Newbies like me learn more of Bitcoin from the beginners and help section and though I know this Naija section is still part of the Bitcointalk forum, it would be confusing to create new topics on Bitcoin with a semblance to what we have read or commented in the beginners and help section.
45  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [CHARTS] Monthly Overview Of Nigeria Local Board📈 Monthly Merit Reward on: October 13, 2023, 10:52:10 AM
It's like this is my first time of noticing this section being active, because I have yet seen such a statistics of activities being posted anywhere in this Bitcointalk forum except on this Naija board.

It goes to show the dedication to do better coming from every participant here and the fact that there's seriousness on the Naija side to actualize the use and adoption of BTC in the country.
I will do better to be ranked among the top pioneers from now onwards.
46  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: We should control our tongue at all time. on: October 13, 2023, 10:44:07 AM
The tongue has always been responsible for many problems and wars from before even till now.
That's why it is said to always use this tongue to claim and prophecy positive things or decrees into our lives.

In this kind of case mostly when it involves men putting on uniform or even putting on plain cloths and armed clearly, the tongue should be tied or arrested between the teeth if it feels it is too free, because them Naija police or SARS fit shoot person wey misyarn or avoid searching.

Even within friends or neighbors, unless na your right you dey drag for, with that even, it is better to just walk away. Walking away or letting them have their way will save anyone the pain of being flogged or being detained in a smelly room for long amidst humiliation.
47  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Let's be vigilant on: October 12, 2023, 02:41:26 PM
I used to receive messages like this sometimes, but know that the offer is often too good to be true.
The one I hate the most is when I get sent messages like this as a referral link from a close friend telling me I won an iphone 15pro max or something of a cash prize .

Mostly as we are nearing the end of the year with just 2months to go, the vigilance level should be higher both for online and for offline activities, because even the scammers and hackers want to have a detty December and wouldn't mind who gets to pay for it.
With passwords and codes, be extra vigilant and be mindful who pays attention to you while on your device.

50  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Here are some forum features that I discovered after spending some time here. on: October 12, 2023, 02:23:46 PM
Thanks for iterating me with these features that I would normally just overlook without knowing their functions. With this info, I can be more confident coming online and navigating the settings and other features without the fear of having my account block for clicking on features or doing what is inappropriate.
I am still to understand what the child boards mean however and have been keeping an eye out for any topics created to explain it well. Any help?
51  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How can I trade on P2P On Binance exchange? on: October 12, 2023, 02:20:13 PM
I think you found what you are looking for in the comments, and I want to add something important to your information, which is that by using Binance P2P, you will lose a large part of your privacy because any user you will deal with will be able to see your full name in addition to your bank account number or your private phone number, and this It will depend on the payment method that you will agree on. This means that Binance will not be the only one who will know this data about you, but also the users on Binance P2P. Also, your transaction history on Binance P2P will remain recorded in the transaction history, without you having the authority to delete or modify it. This can act as incriminating evidence against you if you are in a country that does not allow crypto activities.
It seems the P2p isn't as secret or decentralized as I was thinking. Am still learning and thanks for this post, I have gained clarity on why and when and how to effectively use the P2p in Binance.
I wonder if this applies to other exchanges with P2p, because then a user who has multiple accounts will have his details entered in the system more than once I suppose.
52  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin investment and real estate investment, na which one get advantage pass on: October 09, 2023, 09:01:08 PM
With the rumors of war or fighting and unrest going on in the world currently, do you think one should invest in real estate that might be swept away by bombs or war deformity?
BTC or cryptocurrency can be saved up and used in situations where the legal tender or means of doing business or trade has failed.
BTC advantage is just that it can be transacted from anywhere there is access to internet as compared to real estate that might be abandoned, left to rot and  may not yield seasonal or daily profit.
53  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DCA, the most convenient way to increase your bitcoin as an investor. on: October 09, 2023, 08:56:13 PM
From my observation so far, I think DCA strategy is same as savings and anyone person who can be disciplined to maintain a proper savings, would not find DCAing crypto or BTC in this case a problem.
BTC DCA strategy sure increases Bitcoin profit as an investor but the percentage increase would not be as huge as when altcoins is invested in and market volatilities or crash doesn't affect it. I have yet to see anyone who DCA with altcoins, but I know that the more convenient way to have a good investment portfolio is to DCA for a while without dipping hand in it or diverting the funds .
54  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangers of trading on: October 09, 2023, 08:51:34 PM
The fear of trading or the dangers involved in trading didn't stop the professional traders from making a profit or trading full time as a source of steady income.
I think only those who are afraid of losing will be faced with the challenges should they decide to try trading just to know if it is their thing.

Apart from the emotional dangers, monetary dangers and psychological dangers involved in trading, it should not be enough to stop anyone from trading because just like real world tasks, trading is also a task that requires concentration, financial input and technic or strategy of investment.
55  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Plz help trust wallet haked on: October 07, 2023, 02:34:58 PM
I have little knowledge of wallets and crypto currency as it is, but I have had a friend with similar instance of losing their coins while using trust wallet.
I can't say that your account was hacked, but the advice I can give as was given me is to make use of an Electrum wallet.
Am still studying and observing to know why, but I can assure that from what I have seen it would rather be hard to hack an Electrum wallet when the owner has entailed safety and security protocol are always adhered to.
56  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Don't be afraid of buying Bitcoin on: October 07, 2023, 02:30:47 PM
Am very well afraid to buy Bitcoin as it is, because the price has rocketed to what I can not easily afford with family pressure and other bills to pay.
Still I consider BTC as a most valuable investment because of its vision and position in the crypto market.

I have been advised to invest still in BTC and trade if possibly so as I can gain financial freedom, but the commitment is what seems hard and though I plan to do so currently, I am still in doubt as to which strategy of investment will suit me best.
57  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Obasanjo introduced cell phone, this government should introduce BTC as future on: October 07, 2023, 02:25:34 PM

I was just thinking that as Obasanjo our former president introduced the cell phone to Nigerians and today we are enjoying the benefits as much as other countries, will it be too much to ask the current president or his administration to consider and implement the use and adoption of cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin for the citizens?

Is it too much to ask for a solution to the crippling economy and a way out for the next generation, seeing that Bitcoin investment is sure and the future if money?

Let's discuss!

59  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Forex same thing as betting on: October 07, 2023, 02:04:35 PM
It is funny to even consider forex and betting as a thing or couple because, betting involves putting your money where your mouth is for live events, while forex is merely putting your money where you think it can double up.

Although from my analogy, money is involved in both instance, betting or gambling is a game of luck and predictions while forex exchange require one to understand the market or foreign exchange inorder to be successful therein.
60  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: It seems multitasking is the only way out of poverty on: October 07, 2023, 01:59:09 PM
For men, I would like to say that multi tasking is but a farce and anyone who does it, should keep a note or make a note as a man in order not to forget the most important task to fulfil.
Women are known multitask better than men and it is true, unless we men learn to shift our attention it would be difficult to multitask and still expect a perfect result .
Multitasking requires all the full functions of the brain and a man who can concentrate and complete said task, will always have more than those who take it one step at a time.
