41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don’t you think BRC20 tokens need more spotlight? on: February 12, 2024, 01:56:04 PM
its already being given spotlight some exchange even make some specialized market for BRC20 token its just that this token never taking off for some reason and one of them is definitely because it take advantage of exploit that causes the blockchain to be clogged with unnecessary transaction and as a result increase in fee as mentioned earlier, also the whole thing seems like a hack in my opinion, there are proper l2 for bitcoin where it truly implements smart contract system i wonder why people not gonna use that instead and choose the path of inscription.
added with the fact that these L2 aren't gonna be clogging the bitcoin blockchain with unnecessary transaction since these l2 are only submitting important data merged in one transaction to the bitcoin blockchain and thats it.
definitely more efficient technology but people are ignoring it, well, to be fair BRC20 is still kinda popular.

The movement surrounding BRC20 tokens can't really be argued against. Personally speaking, it's fascinating where the movement goes considering we're hearing about projects and coins being developed like RATS, SATS and ORDI. Afterall, how could there not be something interesting about using the Bitcoin blockchain in such an unconventional and of course in such a non-Bitcoin way?

It will be interesting to see if those projects find true utility or remain mostly as curiosities and speculative. Anyway, we have seen a few brc20 projects making their way out to be successful in this space like recently AINN is a community-driven AI concept project on BRC20, getting listed on major cexs like bitget, you could look for such projects where its interest from those exchanges that gives them popularity and recognitions.
I’m not even going to deny the fact I made good amounts of money on SATS and even RATS , aside the trend at the moment they both successfully maintained good price trend, don’t know where AINN is already trading at coz checking bitget it’s getting listed 14th
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are these P2P crypto platforms SCAM? on: February 12, 2024, 01:49:41 PM
Bybit, OKX and bitget are centralized exchanges wherein you can trade and do P2P transactions as well but KYC has to be verified which takes out your anonymity and

Paxful also has mandatory KYC apart from the three you mentioned. There are only a few centralized exchanges left that still allow trading without KYC.

I am kind of new to the crypto era, and I am wondering if any of these P2P platforms scammed or legit?

- Paxful
- Bybit
- OKX
- Phemex
- Bitget

I am not sure about Phemex since I have heard this name for the first time. P2P scams are not due to exchanges but happen if you trade with a relatively new merchant listed on these platforms. If you are doing a P2P trade on any centralized exchange ensure that you do with a merchant who has a reputation and has made a significant amount of trade.
Exactly my thought too , most times when you navigate through these exchange platforms you get to read reviews from customers about any p2p merchant. Binance do recommend most trusted ones and advise newbies not to send out their assets unless they’ve received their values, the thing is all through my experience on using p2p I have never lost any funds either on binance or bitget
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralised exchange getting better than Decentralised exchange? on: February 12, 2024, 01:26:18 PM
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

So I recently came across a post where people are engaged in a lengthy debate over whether CEX (Centralized Exchange) or DEX (Decentralized Exchange) is better. So I decided to wrote down this. Frankly, I believe it's a matter we shouldn't dwell on too much because both have their advantages and disadvantages.

For CEX:

Security is reliable if you choose the right exchange.

Transaction fees are reasonable.

It's user-friendly for trading.

You're less susceptible to phishing scams, especially when using a secure wallet.

Various earning opportunities are available.

Let's consider two exchanges I'm familiar with as examples:

For Binance: Despite suffering a massive $570 million hack, Binance remains one of the largest exchanges and not just that, they still keep their standards high.
You can find more details in this link: https://www.investopedia.com/binance-got-hacked-6748215

Now, Bitget: While Bitget hasn't experienced a direct exchange hack, although there was an incident that occurred with their wallet due to a link shared in a group that led to users' accounts being compromised, I won't really call this hack per se but a lesson to everyone. We all need to be careful of links sent suspiciously in any group you're in because you don't know what you will be clicking that will lead to total wipe pf your assets both in crypto and off crypto

You can also read about it here: https://www.[Suspicious link removed]

I use Bitget more often because I've delved into their security standards and believe they're doing well. However, I still use Binance, as it was the first CEX I encountered on my crypto journey.

Now, let's talk about DEX:

I won't say DEX is bad; it has its merits. Everything is decentralized, as the name suggests. I've used Uniswap and continue to do so. However, it's essential to note that DEX can also undergo KYC (Know Your Customer) processes, as evidenced by this tweet about Uniswap: https://twitter.com/WhaleChart/status/1713291249560535051?t=lyzx4IAlZNiG9Llt4g-Tqg&s=19

Furthermore, DEX can be vulnerable to hacking. Consider Mixin, for example.

What I'm trying to convey is that these debates about CEX vs. DEX should consider that both can coexist and work well if we find the right balance.

Even if I said ok, I want to go offline to be safer. The truth is, Im not sure I can be 100% safe offline either. I was researching offline wallets on Amazon and watching YouTube reviews for recommendations. At some point, I got discouraged because even some offline wallets can be hacked. But that won't stop me from using an offline wallet. Is just picking the best that I know that would be best for me. Just as picking the best exchanges among cex and Dex.

As I've said before, our security largely rests in our own hands. Before an exchange collapses, there are usually rumors. When those rumors start, it's essential to withdraw your funds promptly. Take FTX as an example; Sam Bankman Fried's actions had a significant impact on the exchange. If you've been following his legal case, you'll see that he meticulously planned it out with no remorse, unlike other exchanges that experienced hacks and returned stronger with enhanced security.

Truth is most of these exchanges has had their fair share to either hackers or lost of funds, never knew likes of Hotbit will ever take a bow in the crypto space, they were the first ever exchange I used before finding Bitget and Binance much more easier etc
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nowhere is safe part3 on: February 12, 2024, 01:21:51 PM
You literally just mentioned the first two exchanges that resonates perfectly well with me , their UI is quite easy that a newbie can navigate through even without a guide.. I enjoy binance p2p and bitget for consistent trade competitions and their copytrading feature
45  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC or Love on Valentine's day. What's your pick? on: February 12, 2024, 01:17:10 PM
I have seen a couple of friends received amazing gifts from loved ones during Valentine's period but I haven't given one neither have I received because I don't really celebrate Valentine perhaps because I haven't been in love before🙄.

My friends came up with an idea to take some time off this year and travel  to carrebean inland to catch fun and perhaps, I might find Mrs right in the course of the holiday but with BTC on a bullish move, I feel taking a whole week out of trading is a crazy idea even though the rest is needed.

Is there any trading event I can leverage on while on holiday so I can catch fun and earn at the same time.
There are a couple of valentine trade events on X I came across most especially on exchanges and some lingers till even after valentine celebrations but notwithstanding it’s just a few days alway from trading lol. I’d have focused more on spending more quality time with my loved ones even if it’s just for one day.

Maybe these sound familiar to you but this is my first month into this game and I want to pick the right ones.

Thanks
The thing is that when you get into crypto newly and pay attention to failed crypto traders or those that have zero knowledge without them knowing about it , they’ll mislead you tbh.. most times just make researches on your own, even if I tell you a particular exchange p2p is good still just explore yourself. Nevertheless I’ve only tried binance and bitget p2p and didn’t encounter any issues. Whereever I’ve usdt at that material time I just sell or buy ..
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm interested in launchpool projects, do share some if you know any one at the on: January 09, 2024, 07:39:08 PM
Launchpools are like another stress free Avenue for crypto enthusiasts to make money, I’ll say am an addict of staking during launchpads and Launchpools . I did participate in Tonup in the past , t2t2 and now zk fair and I got value for my bgb staked.. this is a good strategy to flip your portfolio
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Blockchain Games Revolutionize the Gaming Industry? on: January 09, 2024, 07:35:59 PM
XAI and blockchain gaming look pretty exciting! Owning in-game stuff for real, easy trading, and even having a say in game decisions is like a gamer's dream. XAI seems to cut through the blockchain complexity for gamers, fixing things like high fees and tricky wallets. Getting listed on big exchanges is a good sign, but the real deal is if gamers jump on board and XAI delivers what it promises.
Love to see how the gaming sector is up and doing , got a couple of them in my portfolio. Get to see new upgrades and features, Xai on the other hand is another worthwhile one. During the course of my research realized it’s a layer 3 blockchain on Arbitrum, simplifying in-game item trading and enhancing accessibility for gamers by addressing issues like high gas fees and complex interfaces.
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: Heading into 2024 crypto year: what are your hopes and fears? on: January 09, 2024, 07:26:26 PM
2023 provided lots of mixed feelings especially from Q1-Q3 but the Q4 saw lots of sparkles as investors and traders alike who were hoping BTC could close the year at $35k saw the mother of crypto touch down $44.5k before the close of 2023. For me $SOL and BRC-20 tokens like $ORDI and $SAT gave me the surprise of my life. Am sure am not the only one in this category.

While I was assessing my gains and losses and strategizing on how to navigate through 2024, I came across an article from Gracy Chen, the M.D of Bitget highlighting the challenges and victories of 2023 while expressing her Optimism for the year 2024 especially with the possible approval of the blackrock Bitcoin spot ETF and I share her sentiment that 2024 could be another year for the moon boys.

I feel like going all in with my funds in preparation but am still a bit skeptical of unforseen circumstances, what are your thoughts? Do you think BTC could hit a record high of $100k as predicted by many analysts or one should thread with caution. Share your insights (Edited)
No doubt gracy is a very intelligent woman, well I also watched a live on their official YouTube channel concerning bitcoin spot etf , hopefully we get to see $100k but then I’m looking forward to seeing $50k. Since March 2022 , we get to see a new wave in btc .
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AN OVERVIEW OF LAUNCHPAD PROJECTS; ANY WORTHY PROJECTS TO LOOK OUT FOR? on: November 14, 2023, 12:20:48 PM
If you did participate in t2t2 launchpad on bitget and staked your BGB bet you’ll be smiling by now as bgb pulled a ATH yesterday
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Convergence of Worlds: Shrapnel, Blockchain, and You on: November 13, 2023, 10:15:14 PM
During the course of my research on this gamefi project I noticed the team involved had previously worked on some of the biggest titles in the industry like Halo, Call of Duty, Star Wars, Bioshock, Ghost of Tsushima and many more. So obviously I’ll be expecting some more features, tho the game is quite captivating
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex was hacked (Security Breach Discussion) on: November 13, 2023, 09:43:09 PM
Topic Security Breach and Protection Layers. Do you think that Exchanges and DeFI need more development and investments here or is this just something we have to lay down our heads and deal with?
Yes and more professional ones. This happened due to a low security network of Poloniex. Probably they need to have more security protocols and not only them but a lot of exchange like Binance Kucoin, which is targeted by hackers. Obviously this is not new but considering the news it will have a great impact on market situation.
As you have said truly no exchange is beyond hack but in the past I think I have heard about poloniex hack , happening again means they’ve got a weak security. Handling our assets they should tighten security am sure hackers will be targeting other cex like binance or even Bitget but seems unsuccessful coz they have tight security
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Think Staking is the Perfect Passive Income Strategy in a Bull Market? on: November 13, 2023, 02:32:47 PM
So I believe staking stands out as a smart strategy for passive income in this bull market, especially since it allows you to leverage your staked tokens effectively. But, does this make it the perfect passive income for you?

For me, staking during a bull run has been akin to hitting two birds with one stone as enjoying the rewards from staking and potentially benefiting from the rising value of the staked assets. This dual advantage has made it a successful strategy in my experience. More than just a means to earn, staking has also been a way for me to engage with and contribute to the growth and innovation of blockchain technology.

So what do you think guys? Is staking the perfect passive income strategy for the bull market, or are there nuances we should consider?
Two things i enjoy doing in this crypto space is either staking and copy trading, these two have really come handy for me over the years of being a crypto trader. Then ofcourse taking part in airdrops has also yielded me so good passive incomes ..
54  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Reward for a Trading Mentor on: November 03, 2023, 08:56:08 AM

What is the best reward for mentorship? How do you think I should reward the mentor when I have one? And how often should this be?

You mixed things up. You are asking as if you are the mentor that what to have an idea on how to bill your subjects. But in this context, you are the supposed learner. It is the mentor that will choose how he will be remunerated and not the other way round. So, meet your mentor first and he will say how you will pay. If by chance he demands nothing from you, it is when you can ask us these questions.

If you are looking for a mentor, you may look for like three good traders that can mentor you.
Mate, are you are this is not a bad idea. Having more than 1 mentor will be demanding and distracting. 3 good traders have different strategies and one person learn from 3 different experts as mentors will be distracting. At a point you may not know whose strategy to apply and whose to ignore.

I will advise he have one mentor and use the forum advice to augment, things will be fine.

Well I don’t know about anyone else but my experiences with mentors are quite sour , they demand money & yet I don’t get value for it .. I will rather use bots to build my portfolio tbh .. or rather keep using the bitget copy trading till I’ve gained enough knowledge to trade independently
55  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Reward for a Trading Mentor on: October 31, 2023, 03:42:03 PM
I have a fair knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I can hold down a good conversation in it however when it comes to trading, I have come to the point where I need to up my game. After using a mock trading app for some time, I stopped and tried the live environment. I lost money. Since then I have done some trading again. I feel I need to get back in the game. Right now I am coming in with a different strategy which is a mentor. Yes, I need a mentor in this renewed trading journey who would teach me the practical aspect of it. Because any of us can easily quote the theoretical knowledge of trading.
What is the best reward for mentorship? How do you think I should reward the mentor when I have one? And how often should this be?

If you guys can give me some ideas, it will help me to take charge of the conversation when I meet with the potential mentor.

Thanks.

Meeting potential mentors is hard to come across these days because some claim what they're not. Honestly, I understand this feeling. At some point, I started using copy trading to fill up the space of my earning while I learn. You could find a mentor but I scaled through learning from those who are better than I'm, and joined a small group of good traders as well. I wish you luck in finding a mentor
Have paid lot of mentors in the past who never gave me value for what I paid , wasted money on fake mentors .. I will rather use a bot to help me trade while am enhancing my knowledge than have a mentor deceive me again
56  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: App for crypto indicators on: October 31, 2023, 09:12:15 AM
What is better for this is to have a bot where you can automatically buy when certain conditions of your strategy have sufficed. Maybe with those three indicators that you have, RSI, MACD, and BB, you can all together just buy it and then wait for the percentage to sell.
Trading bots automate things and eliminate emotion in trading but people must learn fundamentals, technical indicators to set up trading bots.

Some good trading bot services are available to buy and use.
[BIG LIST] Crypto Trading Bots.
One of them is Gunbot that has an announcement thread in Bitcointalk.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥[GUNBOT] Trading Bot with 136 exchanges available!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Yes you are right , one good thing about using trading bot is the fact it helps keep our emotions in check & saves time too. Quite alot on bitget exchange but just few resonates with my trading strategy
57  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull season started? on: October 31, 2023, 08:13:04 AM
The recent surge in BTC to the $35k region has led many to believe that the bull market is back. Some analysts believe this is just the effect of historical October patterns, and we may see a significant pullback for accumulation and liquidity purposes before the bull season kicks off. I'm confused, which is why I'm here. What's your opinion, fellow traders?"
Personally I think this is a bull trap , coz bull run hasn’t started . I know last week there was a sudden price hike on $btc which helped me take profits on my of my holdings in my Bitget wallet. But notwithstanding I’m still in full observation of the market
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin kwoledge is not complete without bitcoin investment on: October 25, 2023, 09:20:52 PM
I am not suppose to say this here but i want forum members to advice and tell me on how I can go with my bitcoin journey as a newbie and become successful in it without losing my bitcoin. My Dad is late and he left us a building which I and my siblings inherited. I rented my own apartment because I stay in a more civilized area. Whenever my tenant pays me my rent, I just keep the money in the bank and sometimes it stays there for more than six months in my account because I have a job that takes care of my responsibilities. This year when I joined this forum, after reading through topics and comments from forum users on bitcoin investment, I said to myself that it will be wise if i give bitcoin investment a trial and see how it will feel like holding a bitcoin.

Last week Monday, I recieved my rent, but guess what I was scared of investing it on bitcoin because I was having so many thoughts in my head telling me to invest and not to invest. I continued with my forum activities and kept on reading, at a point, I got to realize that what will I gain, if I have the knowledge of bitcoin and I don't invest in it to have the experience on using bitcoin and to also have the experience of holding in long term, so that i can talk about bitcoin from experience. This means that it is important for me to buy bitcoin to acquire more knowledge, and this will be an advantage for me  to buy bitcoin now that the price is dip, before it pumps back. Yesterday, I used 60% of the money my tenant paid me to buy bitcoin and I was relieved and happy. I have also created an electrum wallet which I have transfered my coins into, the reason why I chose electrum wallet because it is noncustodial with RBF and Ligthening Network features, which can allow you to double spend, incase the network is congested and your transaction fee is low, since sometimes bitcoin blockchain used to be congested with dust transactions.

I intend to hold by bitcoin for long, because I just started my bitcoin journey and, I know that it isn't going to be an easy one for a newbie like me. I will use 10% of my income to DCA every month, because I also noticed that fiat currency is depreciating due to inflation and that it is better that I save in bitcoin than to keep it in fiat. The moment my bitcoin reaches $1000, I will look on how to transfer my coins to a cold storage wallet for safety. I couldn't keep this to myself and I said let me bring this to the forum for advise from experienced members on precautions I need to take for me to achieve my bitcoin goal target.

If you haven't invested in bitcoin yet, you should try and do so, if you have the resources so that you can feel the vibes that am feeling right now.

Let's discuss.

It seems we both have similar reasons for investing in Bitcoin but slightly different. Mine all started in 2019 when I started looking up what Bitcoin is all about and how to get on the game. Because I really wanna live a happy life with no stress, things weren't that cool as of then because some people discouraged me that BTC could be another scam that pops out from nowhere and dupe people. Guess what? I invested anyway, and now look at me, glad that I did and even tend to use some other earning means mostly the products I find on Bitgeto support my ministry

All Im trying to say is, be calm and do it, follow your instincts. I promise you, you won't regret it
Yea same here , they’ve quite a lot of product that has made my trading quite easy
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the best crypto exchange for P2P transactions ? on: October 25, 2023, 03:16:28 PM
Without any distinction as to which type of exchange we're talking about, I'd say the safest option out there is Binance's P2P. It's safe, secure, and you're obliged to check your wallet first before you go around selling the cryptocurrencies to the other person unlike other P2P methods. Their P2P interface is the easiest to understand out there as well. and the plethora of buyer and seller options to choose from allows every investor out there to really weigh in his choices and invest in whatever he feels the best.

At first I was using binance p2p, someone sent funds to my wallet in bitget & I decided to try p2p , I was literally scared but to my greatest surprise the value dropped real early in my account.. so yes the both are good for p2p
60  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Next-GenTrading Platforms: The Ultimate of DEX and CEX on: October 12, 2023, 09:26:37 PM
Everyone knows that both DEX and CEX have important roles in the crypto space. The substantial liquidity and cross-chain functionalities of DEX, combined with the peer-to-peer and innovative products offered by CEX, can't be overstated.

I've come across the concept of fusing DEX and CEX functions into a single platform, allowing traders to enjoy the benefits of both, saving time and increasing efficiency. Does anyone have an idea what I'm talking about? If yes, do you have any suggestions for the best platform with these features?
Try checking the Bitget exchange, if I'm not mistaken, apart from being a DEX, they now have Swap and Convert options and in my opinion so far using this feature is quite effective and efficient. Even if you really don't know it, Bitget is already quite well known to traders. As for other exchanges that provide options such as DEX and CEX, I recommend checking the advice from Zee27, just do your research first before actually putting money into it. Remember to prioritize the security of your assets and choose a well-known exchange.
Thanks for the suggestion, mate. From first impressions, I think they've got exactly what I'm looking for – cross-chain swap feature with deep liquidity, etc. I'll explore it.
That’s my thought too , regardless of hacks on cex . Good ones with liquidity makes trading not only easy but assets quite accessible. Some of their features too like copy trading & p2p makes them stand out
