41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 18, 2014, 02:27:02 AM
Is there a full list of nodes by any chance?
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 18, 2014, 02:22:48 AM
Anyone having trouble getting the new wallet to sync. Did the nodes change or something? i was able to get first one to sync no trouble but can't get this guy.
I had to delete  the  data from  Roaming folder and  replace conf file from ZIP, now the new wallets works just fine
can somebody tell me what port to use for solo mining (in conf file)?

those are the same steps I did. I think it just needs a lil time. will see tho lol

so apparently i spoke too soon, it started connecting then stopped. what is the roaming folder?

where is windows wallet?

Like every other thread the first post.

https://mega.co.nz/#!3NxH1ZaC!WADGa6IxO297py57n5Qid9vyoHawDgkoXCDiBcSSSeI

my new wallet wont sync for some reason tho, even with a config file... gonna let it sit for a while and see what happens.
Thats what I had to do. All synced up now.

So i was having the same issue. i posted about a minute too early. all i did was delete the old blockchain info and it started connecting

Under clock or under volt?
46  Bitcoin / Mining / Increasing Efficiency on S1 on: August 14, 2014, 12:18:46 AM
I was curious if anyone knew anyway of increasing the power to GH ratio on the S1 miners. its getting to the point where I've stopped overlocking but i still need to do better. Id like to get them where the margin is profitable. I feel like I've herd of changing the voltage. I know they can be more efficient because they are the same chip thats in the s2 which has a much better power to GH ratio.

Any Ideas?

My wallet is not staking. Any advice. Ive had coins in it since the launch, and have not removed any at any point. i do have new coins depositing every few hours but this has never been an issue with any other coin. do i have to do something to get this to stake?

think i found the answer to my problem. the wallet was set to have a large amount of non staking coins. and as i write this my wallet has started staking.

49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2014-08-09] Why We Need All The Altcoins We Can Get on: August 09, 2014, 05:12:09 PM
Nonsense the article is bad.
99% of these coins are utter nonsense and made for scamming purposes. We need only a few altcoins.

I would ask - how many alt coins have you got or you had and you sold?

Or you were trading Bitcoin and Litecoin only? Smiley

I've delt with quite a few alt coins. and yes a lot of them are scams and that what we need to eliminate, not alt coins as a whole. many of the new coins bring a cool idea or concept. the problem is, is that the dev goes mia before it can be developed or worked on.

Interesting article about why we need altcoins Smiley for those who thinks there is a way too many of them it is worth reading.

I used to think that indeed there is too many of them, but I knew that for some reasons this is a bad thing and also can be a good thing too.

Do you agree with this article or what are your feelings about it ?

Thats a great article, i was really getting to the point where i wanted to kill the next alt coin dev but this puts a good perspective on it. we do need to cut down on scams tho.
51  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 09, 2014, 04:33:55 PM
I have G-750 SeaSonic 80 gold powering up 2x S3 miners. After couple of hours, one of the antminer started getting some HW errors. Is this because one of the blades i connected with daisy chain?

what are some hw errors
 5
10
100
1000
10000

1000 errors a day are not too bad.

both have been running for 13h+ now, first one has 57 HW and second 166.

You can use this formula to calculate percentage of hardware errors, I generally consider <=0.3% an acceptable level when hashing at stock.

(HW + DiffA + DiffR) / HW * 100 = %HW

Ooops: HW / (HW + DiffA + DiffR) * 100 = HW% Smiley

Even better is this http://www.coincadence.com/antminer-s1-hardware-error/ its a web based calculator for figuring out HW error, it uses the same formula but you don't have to do the math. Quick Tip. You can't leave a blank value, use 0 if the value is 0.

Is there a good three for overlocking these?
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: backing up wallet question on: August 09, 2014, 04:29:56 PM
I can also confirm that it will be displayed and work on both. I'm currently in the process of moving all my QT's from one computer to another, my main comp has an SSD and the blockchain is taking up a lot of info but for a little while they have been up and running on both.
54  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does anyone actually have AntMiner S2 1TH/s? on: August 07, 2014, 11:19:20 PM
Yes we were totally ripped off by Yoshi at BitMain so beware! After buying over a dozen S1's and setting up a S1 based mining infrastructure he sold us 3 S2's the week before the S3 came out - bought them from him directly and he never even mentioned the S3...

We paid 1800 per S2 or around 5400 for 3 THs

Had we known we could have got 15x S3's or around 7.5 THs for the same money we would have never purchased them

Anyway - our 3 x S2's are generating around 0.07 btc per day on BTC Guild so after hosting/energy costs will never ROI

Total Waste of Money, will never do business with those guys again...

I feel you on that one, i bought mine about 6 weeks before, so not as bad as you but still feeling the pain.

I have one it hashes at 1150 constantly however i did upgrade the PSU to a Corsair ax1200i. this thing has been a set up and forget it run reliably for over a month now.

Not sure if anyone has recommended but i like this one https://alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator. works great and gives a great idea of where next difficulty will be set

i also like http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ you just have to ignore the long term profitability factor, however short term (no more than month) i have found to be reasonable.

Any word on exchanges, I'm probably not going to get any free coins but id like to hold some so it looks like ill have to buy.
58  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: August 03, 2014, 01:37:10 AM
I purchased mine through eBay and must have gotten an earlier batch.

i am trying to OC i was able to oc up to 237.5 without getting any x's but power draw from the wall doesn't go up and my hash rate goes down. when i leave at 218.5 i get 450 @350w at the wall(i use platinum rated PSUs). i can't even clock this thing at 225 without the HR going down.

Have we found a fix for this yet or is it just how its gonna be?

Additionally Ive noticed that as soon as i start overlocking my reject rate goes way up, somewhere in the neighborood of 25% HW stays very low. might this play a role in why my 5s hash is 480ish but average is closer to 400?

if your average over 24 hr hash is 400Gh after overclocking, you should use default speeds or, if that does not work either, underclock to 212.5mhz instead and get a steady 428Gh at only 320-325W. Just wait 16-24 hr to make any conclusion.

Ive gone back to default speeds and they work as expected, a solid 445. I've had such great rich with all my other ant miners I'm surprised these ones are being so finicky. is there a fix for these not being able to oc or is a hardware issue? i feel like I've herd some people talking about a DV - DV component.
