41  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Investing into crypto really safe? on: June 03, 2024, 04:29:04 PM
The most important things to first know are the coins to invest on and the right time to buy. Some people will invest on a shitcoins while some people will invest at the wrong time. These are the two most costly mistakes someone that wants to invest on coins and tokens can make.

The recommended coin is bitcoin. Make further research to know some other ones. Last year has been the time we have been advising people to invest in bitcoin, but it is never too late for now.
Exactly, most people don't know the right time to invest most jump into investment without any proper research due to fomo. That why is always advisable to invest on BTC mostly when yah newbie because the risk attached to is not as much as the risks attached to most cryptocurrencies. Because any time bitcoin undergo any dip it's always bounce back to beat that same price well as @Charles-Tim said never too late to invest in BTC.

Yes, you are correct, that is why it's always advisable before someone will go into investing in crypto, they should first of all know the basic knowledge and understanding of crypto, do research effectively on how it really works and the risks involved, knowing when to invest, sell or buy, with all this, one can be able to avoid too much loss, especially the newbies, they should learn how to ask questions, anytime they find something confusing and they also learn how to apply patient because one of the things crypto required to move forward is patient, it is also helpful.

One thing is Paramount in investment whether you have a basic knowledge and understanding how crypto works there's must always be a profit and a loss these two things  are inevitable in investment, some people make profit based on their instincts why some people make loss based on their instincts too so one should know if his instincts is always good or not so that they will know whether to follow it or not.

Though some newbie may not know how to ask question cause they are still new to the forum and most of us don't understand that fact and sometimes they always criticize them because they ask the question wrongly so in this case if you are a newbie in the forum how will you feel, can you gather some courage to ask again off course it will be very hard for you to ask again because of fear not to be criticized but someone who is determined to learn will adjust and still ask next time. Patient is good no doubt but sometimes it is not always an option and can be disastrous at times.
42  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: the decline in price of bitcoin on: June 03, 2024, 04:07:13 PM
Thank you very much boss for making me know the meaning of ATH, most people feel that once they have learn there's no need for other people to learn. If someone wants to write abbreviation or acronym at least after or before the abbreviation they should always write the full meaning too so that others can learn.

Guy, you no supposed to reason am like that, irrespective of the fact say this forum Na for learning, you no go expect make dem spoon feed you like that. Many of the things wey most of us learn Na out f curiosity, and as we hear for forum, we dey go Google to go get more information, so you no go fit expect person to dey write the meaning of every abbreviation wey e wan all the time, just because of say some learners still plenty for ground. Use you google and search to know more rather than waiting for someone to spoon feed you like a baby.

You are absolutely right most of the things i have learnt here is out of curiosity I mean the eager to know that particular thing cause I know it will help me a lot and some day I will start using it even in my thread perhaps I have been thinking it is just a cryptocurrency language that it may not mean same thing if Googled it, so It was later I started searching it in terms of Cryptocurrency cause those abbreviations could mean different thing in different field or discipline. Moreover, I am just pleading for people that may see it as stress to be replying thread and same time going to Google to search for meaning of something, I know that is best way to train someone but most people are using Android it will be very difficult and sometimes when you minimize before you will go back the whole thing will be reloading and that can be very annoying and I believe you know what am taking about.
43  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If you can invest in btc then trust it and just hodl for future betterment on: June 03, 2024, 03:47:06 PM
There're certain bitcoin investors that has always gazed at the coin market cap watchfully to see increase of price so that they could cashout the profits. So are due to lack of other source of income and some are on the act to say they're trying to achieve their capital rate gradually in case the industry crashes.

I don't know who anyone who need to hear this that bitcoin is has come to stay as long as more investors are coming in because that's how more the blockchain is stretching reliably stronger and not a Ponzi schemes that you'd be deemed to act smartly to make sure you secures your capital while expecting a system crashes unawares.
You that also Invests on bitcoin without previsions for other source of incomes, be let known that your bitcoin investment can only be fertile to profer you highly profits if you have other source of income so that your asset can accumulate more values from those generated profits and soar to yield you bigger incomes.
Hodling is just the key to a better success in the industry of bitcoin investment.

You are absolutely correct the best way to go about Bitcoin investment is by holding it though different people have different targets and plan, and it is not possible for everybody to hold there coin for long term however it is good to hold it for long term (years) but sometimes it is not necessary. There are people who invest just get half or twice of there capital and collect there capital and invest in another project, they don't do this because they don't have trust in Bitcoin but because they want to take advantage when there capital has brought forth something ok to use for other things which of course will be great.
44  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If we had higher magnitude of Crypto adoptors and Literates in our society. on: June 03, 2024, 11:32:50 AM
Bitcoin has really been a conducive source by which we can process our financial transactions via P2P without the exchange to fiats just to process with the local transaction. And boycotting the barriers by which the government stood as blockage against the citizens and the Crypto exchange by ingnoring using the centralized exchange but making our payments directly on the p2p on non custodial network would had been a good alternative for us but the problem lyes on the quantity of citizens being literates with the digital financial system because as much as I know, there are much more number crypto illiterates in the society which would be a majority aspect for us.

I think this is the weak point where the government caught us captive, they understood that there are over emphasized illiterates in our society and the government are been adamant to structure an educative and civilized society atleast that it could impact to enhance human human resources and infrastructures.
This has in time made me felt like the governments are benefiting from the illiterate being of the people knowing that they do not know the DOs and the DON'Ts and how they can be audible to be defendant.
So if major of the masses in our society has adopted bitcoin or even having a reliable knowledge about it, I don't think if the government would had gone so far opposing the peoples wills over cryptocurrencies.

It's definitely uneasy but how can we as citizens educates ourselves virally because while hoping on the government for our wellbeings, things would keep going astray.
Is there a measure to conquer this government with our decisions over cryptocurrencies? Let's share some thoughts though it could be tough or even impossible. But no offence in trial and bringing of ideals.

You are absolutely correct to an extent but I don't think the reason why Government is behaving this way is because of the rate of unlearned crypto persons in the country cause even if we have more number of crypto literate I don't think it will stop the Government from doing what they want to do or even if everyone is a crypto literate it can not still stop the Government and off course everyone can never be a crypto literate. This bad economy we are experiencing now in the country, will you say there are not learned people who can speak for the masses of course there's but the Government chooses to keep it that way  cause they know what they are benefiting from the economy.
45  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How long have you been into cryptocurrency and what have you learnt? on: June 03, 2024, 11:08:27 AM
Happy weekend everyone. So this question da important because most people da enter crypto now with the wrong mindset like say na get rich which scheme. So maybe this one go help one or two new people. For me I don da crypto for 2 years now..and first thing I learn be say you go read book tire. E be like school. No be for lazy people ahaha. Secondly no need to rush and remove fear for your mind..  make we hear una stories..

Op, I don't know where you learnt that one will read book tire in cryptocurrency perhaps it's not about reading books rather it's about understanding what you are reading so that you will know how to apply it at a given point in time and also how to follow crypto. However, hesitating to invest and make profit can land one to where they won't like that is a regrettable place though sometimes we can still make something out of hesitation but it's not good. Fear is good and at same time very bad cause it can make us not to dive into wrong project and sometimes it can also make us not to invest in a nice project perhaps we should follow our instinct most times cause it has really favored me though I don't know about others instinct.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still buying altcoins?? on: June 03, 2024, 12:17:43 AM
It seems bulls are busy with Bitcoin only. That's why Bitcoin keep breaking new All time high but most of top altcoins (except a few) Still straggling to cross even Half of their Ath price. So maybe altcoins season might come after btc halving. That's why many people still don't hesitate to collect altcoins. What is your opinion about this matter. Are you still buying anything or will think about it later after halving

Most alt are struggling to cross new ATH  cause of the team the positive movement of those coin depends on  the team and the demand of it. Bitcoin is absolutely different from any other coin though there are small small risk attached but it still remain one of the best, since alt investment is not certain I will rather invest in Bitcoin cause I believe no matter the behavior it will still  appreciate cause they have a strong team and I believe they also have a great target.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme coins: Shiba Inu vs Pepe - Which one do you prefer? on: June 03, 2024, 12:07:00 AM
Both are meme coins wherein they don't have any fundamentals. They both are community driven and earlier this year Pepe generated good returns than Shiba Inu. I don't have any personal preferences but as a investor I would buy both and wait for the next bull run. Both have the ability to generate good returns on investment.

Just like what you said, both are memecoin and investing in both is a good idea  and also very risky because they are  memecoin and  we don't know what will happen next in the market though there current behavior maybe encouraging but that doesn't mean it is certain that it will do well however, while investing make sure to use what you can afford to let go cause the investment is not sure I mean certain.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which of these coins has highest chance to 10x? on: June 02, 2024, 11:53:32 PM
I have not invest on any of these coins but I beleive ONDO has the potential to go to 10x easily. Iin just a month time it has the price has already  exceeded 40% and it is still going up. The current price is still below $2 and if you can hold on to it for about a few months to six months you will get good returns on your investment.

Are  you indirectly advising him to invest in ONDO, if that's what you are doing I don't think is a good idea. It maybe a good coin based on your analysis and perspective but you don't have to advise someone to hold unto a particular coin that can be very dangerous rather you can give a general opinion and remember these are alt the chance of making profit is a 50/50. However, I believe Shiba Inu will do great  but not sure of 10x
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn money (cryptocurrency) in 2024? on: June 02, 2024, 11:39:14 PM
I have been thinking about making money in cryptocurrency, but I'm hesitant to try because I don't want to get scammed i.e. didn't get any rewards for the effort I spent. I'm really curious with the current hype in 2024 and how much you've make from it? I know that scam is inevitable in altcoins, so I might be looking to earn with less risk.

What I know the current hypes in 2024 are:
1. Testnet airdrop
2. Meme coins

What about NFT or ordinals? but I think it's really risky because it's non fungible and you can't make sure people will buy your token.
What about P2E games? I haven't hear it anymore.

Probably I missed other hypes or if you know the another way of making money, feel free to comment. Wink
One way to earn money in crypto with less risk is through airdrops where you only need to complete tasks to receive tokens. An example of this is the Heroes of Mavia and Arkham airdrop. The challenge here is that we cannot determine the next project similar to them, and with the multitude of airdrops emerging, even dedicating all your time to them may not be sufficient. What's needed is diligence and patience to grind through, as it can consume all your time.

One can actually make money in airdrop but it is very difficult cause you don't know which of the airdrop is legit and which of them is scam. One of the advantage of airdrop is that you won't invest your money in it though some of them will require you to invest money before you can be eligible for some things and some of the disadvantage is that you will spend your time, energy and date, when the reward is not even certain. However, I believe the best way to make money in crypto is to invest in Bitcoin.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with your altcoin holding with low value on: June 02, 2024, 11:26:41 PM
For those of us that are into altcoin signature campaign and have accumulate some in your wallet, what do you do with it since some of them has low value at the moment if you check their current price?

Do you keep holding it hoping that the price will finally come up since it seems you can't actually trade it with it current value.

Will the altcoin become valueless after the campaign is over or could still gain value after some years.

Let me believe this is a rhetorical question cause you can't expect everyone who's on signature campaign to be discussing on what to do with their coin that doesn't have value here but since some persons have replied you already I will like to add small thing. However, if a  coin has a low value for some  period of time that doesn't mean it is a waste or it doesn't mean that it value will not appreciate and off course the best thing to do with those coin is to hold it and hopefully the value will appreciate and for your information ending of a particular campaign doesn't mean the coin will be valueless but it depends.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT ARE THE AIRDROP CRITERIA WILL PAY US? on: June 02, 2024, 10:42:41 PM
Nowadays, airdrops are often used in crypto exchanges. In addition to the standard trading strategy of investing one's finances, airdrops, which involve giving away free coins or tokens to users of public crypto wallets to advertise a new digital currency, can generate huge profits. Blockchain-based companies utilize the use of these crypto wallets as a marketing strategy to encourage users to use their platforms. So what are the signs that an airdrop will pay off?

I don't too participate in airdrop but I believe that  no sign is certain that a particular airdrop will do well rather those sign are more like there strategy to convince people to join and participate in the project and most of these airdrop always look so real to be scam that's why it is very hard to detect fake airdrop but some big investor don't participate in airdrop cause they see it as a waste of time.

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops are getting easier to get this year on: June 02, 2024, 05:00:53 PM
I was not aware airdrops had turned into something more than the lowest-level social spam giveaways. Thanks for letting me know. Needing to invest real money to qualify for an airdrop seems like a big upgrade, too bad it didn't choose a fresh, new name instead of "Airdrop."

The fact that most airdrop happens to be scam  doesn't mean you will generalize it as a social media spam giveaway and if I may ask what do you mean by social media spam giveaway cause I know some people who got information concerning a particular airdrop on social Media and they benefited hugely from it so it's wrong to generalize it  and for the fact that some people are benefiting from it and turning millionaire over night is enough reason why you shouldn't generalized It as a spam cause some are genuine and legit.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Take Profit in this Bullrun on: June 02, 2024, 04:32:58 PM
Crypto trading and investing has many challenges. However some that stand out are;

1. Risk in trading or investing
2. Greed and Fear
3. Profit taking.

I will address the third point in this trade. Making profit is one thing, taking profit is far important. What make some people not to make profit is fear and greed.
Here is a strategy i used in taking profit;
1. Determine the market cap you want the coin to rise to.
2. DCA out at every milestone of the project.

For example, say you bought SOL at $5. You take 50% off after 5x, and take 10% as it goes up.

How do you take profit? Are there other strategies for profit taking?

Sorry, are you asking the forum this question or you are teaching us how to take profit cause your title sounds like you want to teach us and then your write up looks like a question and you even state some idea on how to take profit however, even if i answered your question you may not still see my strategy as something that is good or maybe you can't still hold unto it. Moreover I think you are right to an extent, most people lost or don't make profit because of greed and I think sometimes it is caused by circumstance while sometimes it is natural and fear can't only make one not to make profit but sometimes it help one not to make loss too.
I have seen a situation where someone wanted to invest in a particular project but because of fear of losing his money he stayed off from the project and later he heard that the project he wanted to invest in was a scam project so, sometimes it is good to have fear.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in meme coins is worthy or not? on: June 02, 2024, 04:01:18 PM
In addition to what they replied so far, memecoin are not something to be trust with all our heart when we invest in them cause it is a 50/50 something, is either you make profit or you loss money though some of them can make one get rich overnight that is the reason why even with risk attached people still invest in it. What you said about the team sounds somehow to me and i think that is there strategy to convince people to invest however, as we have the mindset that memecoin are not something we should invest much on that is how the team is also thinking on how to convince people to invest so that they can make their own profit.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can any meme coin challenge bitcoin in future ? on: June 02, 2024, 01:15:10 PM
Is it possible that some meme coin might challenge bitcoin in future ? Why or why not ? I personally feel that though we may see some mem coin making it really big but it will never be at the level to challenge bitcoin.

Op, this your question is just like asking  if bird can withstand eagle merely looking at it the answer is very simple and easy off course bird can't withstand eagle and most of them still exist because they are hiding from eagle and eagle give them freedom by not going to hunt them likewise memecoin and Bitcoin, most memecoin depend on Bitcoin. However, the fact that these coins are created by human using technologies I think anything can be possible cause different individual has different knowledge and understanding, so if the tech and traget of any memecoin team is more than that of the Bitcoin then anything can be possible perhaps just an imagination.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investment a necessity or a want? on: June 02, 2024, 12:56:45 PM
It is am obvious fact there are a lot of coins coming in to the market and Bitcoin halving is so close and alot of people are also diving in to the  market, but some thing actually triggered me creating this thread which is where I got the attention from, some one very close to me has been prioritizing coins involvement other than his health care. What are your option on this?

What do you mean by prioritizing coins other than his health?. Is the illness so bad and he refuses to take care of himself cause of investment?. However, in as much as investment is very good that doesn't mean one shouldn't take care of his health, someone's health should be his number one priority and most time those investment we are chasing or doing are not always certain, some of those investment are 50/50 something. Morever, it is someone that is strong and healthy can/will have the strength and energy to invest and brainstorm on what project to invest on.

Our health shouldn't be underrated cause we can't buy it with money.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth to join airdrop? on: June 02, 2024, 12:37:00 PM
Nowadays airdrops hype is back again and due to some projects gave a decent amount of money among its contributors, people are joining randomly even without analysis anything. And many shit projects announcing airdrops and try to attract investors for their projects. Many shit projects already gained millionaires of subscribers in their channel but they are keep doing fake promises. I would say, you can join airdrop but analysis them. Don't join blindly.
yeah, maybe now there are quite a lot of airdrops that pay pretty well. However, we know that this is still very little compared to the number of airdrops currently. If you want to take part in the airdrop, you should choose a project that has great potential. I think, if you focus on doing all the tasts from various airdrops, it will really waste time.

I believe this thread was made years back and as of that time 2018  I don't know how well airdrop has been doing or how popular it is then but I believe that this days there are a lot of airdrop that is worth joining or worth participating on but there are also some that is not worth joining. One is suppose to know the team's target and plan before joining any airdrop cause, that will help one stay away from scam project I mean scam airdrop but sometimes it is difficult to detect a project that will do well and the ones that won't do well, we should be careful on the airdrop we join in older not to get scammed, waste our time and energy.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are the good days for meme coins gone forever ? on: June 02, 2024, 12:17:25 PM
Some of the altcoins moved quite high in prices in this current bull run. But meme coins had been disappointing for long time. Even influencers do not promote meme coins at all.
Are the good days for meme coins gone forever ?
How would I know if the days of memecoins are gone forever? you already know how the market works, nobody knows much about the next thing to happen we only know it when it's done already. Perhaps in all my social medias I have been receiving some kind of notifications including influencers who are talking about memecoins which will do best and the ones to hold for a long term so I don't know where you get your informations but this mine.

Most coins only did a bit well because bitcoin also did move upward to reach an ath so since altcoins depend on it to also reach an ath they also made such positive move so when you see a coin move on the opposite direction when the movement is upward it shows such memecoin or altcoins is not a good one to hold in my opinion.

In addition to what Churchill said, I will say the days for memecoin are not gone and can never be gone as long as cryptocurrency is concerned because there are people who are ready to be bring fake project that won't last for long and there are also some that will last for some time and then get dumped. However, there's no social media you will enter without seeing an influencer or people talking about memecoin though sometimes, they will be criticizing a particular memecoin while sometimes they will be advertising and encouraging people to invest in it just to get more participant cause the team may have paid them already or negotiated.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are your holdings ready for this altcoinseason? on: June 02, 2024, 12:01:17 PM
I'm feeling the pressure not to miss out on this bull run. I'm confident in my portfolio of solid coins, but I don't think they're quite cutting it. I want my investments to bring in serious wealth. I've heard about meme coins making people rich overnight, but I'm a bit wary of jumping into that arena. By the way, do you think older coins will see the biggest price surges compared to newer ones? What are your thoughts on this?

I think the old coin will have the best place and I am sure it will find an ATH in the future. because there are still many old altcoins that have not shown growth on the exchange market. and in my opinion meme coins have a very high risk even though many of us have made big profits from them. so choose altcoins that have strong fundamentals and that have been able to survive for a long time in the crypto market.

To an extent, your thinking is right but it is not guarantee or certain that old coin will do well in this present days or in the future and the new ATH will only be seen or made possible if an old coin appreciate beyond it initial value that is, if there is a positive movement or change of that particular coin perhaps, I think both old and new coin can do better depending on the team and there plans/target.

The only coin that has proven itself after some years now is Bitcoin cause the team is very strong and they have greater plans and target and i hope they continue till many investors lives turn around for good. However, life itself is a risk but there  are some risk that is worth to be taking but some are not so we should try as much as possible to try those that are worth taking and sometimes those that are worth to be taking may not bring good outcome that is life.
