41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers👉Group Stage on: June 06, 2024, 06:41:51 AM
  • England => 4.00
  • France => 5.00
  • Germany => 6.50
-

It looks like Germany are benefiting from being the hosts.  Tongue  They have skilled players but for the trophy? I'm not trusting them as much as England - France duo.

Germany can be seeded in addition to the player's material, they also act as the host. The German squad is inhabited by new players shining and supported by senior players who already have good flying hours. France is still a consistent team in the international event so that it includes it in the list of favorite teams.
Britain in my opinion will not go far as before the finalist team.

Not British or France including Germany, the Euro 2024 tournament I considered good opportunities to be in the Spanish national team.
this current England call up is a combination of young talents and beast that will eat up most rivals. When you have a possible attacking side of Bellingham, foden, saka and Kane, how do you defend against that? France is a strong team with an attack of mbape and dembele that have mastered there art of linking up even at the club level who would want to replicate it for thier country and with a solid midfield if Tchouaméni and camavingar, it's surely going to be a rough competition and fight to be battled but England seams to have a more hungry team that's ready to bring in the fight and energy into this tournament. I guess this odds speaks for itself but this is football, no one expected Dortmund to get to the finals but it did happened and we won't be supprised to see more underated teams smashing and outperforming this bigger teams.

Kevin De Bruyne the player of Manchester City is getting near to end of his career in Manchester City and he is about to leave the team for another destination in the next season. Kevin De Bruyne was the key player of Manchester City in the game he played for his team and he was very effective for Gauidola in the game they had.
But just like any other player, he will get old, and as a 32-year-old player he should think about getting retired that's why he recently said there is a chance for him to play for the Saudi teams.
It seems his destination will be Al Nassr and he will play in the same team with Ronaldo in the Saudi League.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/jun/04/kevin-de-bruyne-may-consider-leaving-manchester-city-for-saudi-arabian-club

I think if in the end, Kevin De Bruyne decides to move to Saudi Arabia, it is a realistic decision. Kevin De Bruyne will probably still be able to play in the Premier League for at least the next 2 seasons but he seems to be well aware that he is no longer young, and maybe he thinks about the long injury he got last season, which could possibly hit him again at any time and it would definitely make him less competitive because of it.

The big payout that he could get if he played in the Saudi Pro League, is certainly a tempting opportunity at his current age, and it will be an opportunity for him to fulfill his wish of playing with Ronaldo.
KDB will still be active in the Manchester City team throughout next season after which his contract with Manchester City will expire and then he can finally decide if Saudi league is the next option or if it's necessary to continue at City or to join another club. From a fanbase perspective, KDB has payed his dues in the history of modern football and can choose retire anytime he so pleased and it won't make any difference. At the end of the day, it's either you're chasing fame in the football space or you're chasing money. With young and energetic talent springing up from all corners, it's only best he retired from active football at this point when he is still doing well and go to the Saudi side that's less aggressive compared to the EPL.

Even if he decides to go to Saudi Arabia, there is nothing special about playing along Christian Ronaldo and I wouldn't even want him to play for the Al Nasir team, maybe Al hilal could be the best option.
43  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How can I identify a scammer using Bitcoin or crypto to scammer people on: June 06, 2024, 06:04:54 AM
Because of the increase in the financial leverage of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency a lot of fraudster are budding under the umbrella of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to scammer people especially those who are not much grounded and knowledgeable of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency like me. Instance, some fraudster will send you a link through WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media telling you to click the link to register for cryptocurrency and Bitcoin with hope of making much money from the link but immediately you click the link they will access to all your information and then use hack your account and be using it for their fraudulence activities or better still scammer the you.
So if I may ask, how can we identify this kind of fraudsters?
you should know that it's not advisable to click any link someone sent to you iether in your social media accounts or in your email address. They know that novice are everywhere looking for easy way to earn money and they just frame up some stories to lure you into clicking there link and they can hack your account in the process or get access to most of your passwords. Understand that no one really spams your DM to bring a legit information to you. If they had a genuine information that pays well, they will most likely keep it to themselves or share it with thier immediate friends and family members.

Even when the person that sends you such link is someone that's close to you, don't be in a haste to click it, chat up the person to be sure that he's actually the one that sends it and that his account hasn't gotten into the wrong hands. Sometimes the mistake we do is to fall for anything we receive from our acquaintance not considering that there account could get hacked and used for a dubious purpose.

Another way to protect yourself is to copy the link to your clipboard and paste it in some URL checker that identifies if the link is fraudulent or not, there are some good site that will indicate that the said link you dropped is malicious and can give you additional details that will guide you as to if it's safe to work with the link or not. But the general role is that there is no free thing on the Internet. The number of those trying to steal from you always suppases the number of does that are willing to give you the right update and information so it's just best to trade safe.
44  Other / Off-topic / Re: Genuine Beginner Question: Other ways to earn quick money? on: June 06, 2024, 05:37:28 AM
I would just like to get some insight from the pros here, what are some other ways that I can earn money other than bitcoin mining, eg. Online gambling such as betting and casino?
you should know that regardless of what's going on in the platform, if you're really interested in making real and genuine money you've got to think towards getting a skill that will make you relevance not just on this forum but in the world in general. The importance of getting the right skill set can't be overemphasized as it's certainly going to save you from looking for short and quick way of making money which doesn't always end up well. Don't underestimate the conventional way of making money in your locality even if you are able to find a source of passive income on this forum or else where.

Learn and earn features of crypto websites like coinmarketcap[1] and coingecko[2].

[1] https://coinmarketcap.com/events/learn-and-earn-not-available/
[2] https://landing.coingecko.com/earn/

Apart from them, there are also exchanges[3] that does the same thing in educating new users and at the same time rewarding them with cryptos. It may not that be much but you're asking for quick money, right? You'd be credited after you finish tasks that they offer or for most of them, it's called mission. You definitely learn and earn some crypto.

[3] https://www.coinbase.com/learning-rewards

Some of these websites might not work for you because it still depends on your location.
I find it strange that we're talking about the need for Bitcoin to be adopted in virtually all part of the world but yet we limit some part to some previlage that would encourage them to get involved in the Bitcoin system. What's the purpose of allowing a particular set of people to enjoy certain previledges that comes from learning about crypto while others aren't given such previledge? This is just very bad cause I tried accessing most of the links and and as you've said, it's not allowed in my region.
45  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: What is this new penalty for drugs trafficking in Nigeria? on: June 05, 2024, 11:42:16 AM
Nigeria's Senate has approved a bill that proposes death penalty for persons found guilty of trading or consuming hard drugs and narcotics. In Nigeria, death penalty is now the maximum sentence for the offence, replacing life imprisonment.

is this even necessary? Most of these guys that are actively into hard drugs are frustrated people that are facing serious psychological problems and just resorted to taking this substance and you're being this harsh on them? I know that the effect of taking such substance is very bad and can lead to the person killing innocent people in the process which is one of the reason why it should be discouraged but putting a dead sentence penalty on this kind of thing is too mean. Most of this politicians are always on substance but no one ever talks about it but the local ones on the street is going to be the one that's going to face this harsh ordeal.

There are other pressing issues that's a major concern to Nigerians that the Senate should have been battling rather than creating a new anthem and putting dead sentence for anyone that's caught using substance. Is it the same police and army officers that can't go a day without using this substance that will still effect this laws? We don't really know what our problem is in this country.
46  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambling is a fatal mistake on: June 05, 2024, 11:30:15 AM
Actually I have an elder brother in gambling, he basically works in a private company. Received May salary on June 04/06/2024, he did not come home after receiving salary. Three sons one daughter and his wife live in his house, and he gambled all night and entered the house on the next day 05/06/2024 today morning after losing all the salary money. After entering the house, his wife asked him to go to market, he replied, I don't have money, wife said, you got salary, what did you do with the salary money?
In this way, quarrels between the two gradually arise and when it becomes known in the society, it is gradually known that he has played gambling. And he went somewhere far away from home after the fight till now there is no trace of him and he didn't try to contact him till now. So I shared this with you because of how dangerous gambling is in the eyes of families and society. What could be the biggest reason behind this person giving complete money loss?

so what would have been the case if he used the money to go into alcohol? Or used it to lavish on women or choose to spend it whichever way he pleases? Is it now an issue that he wrecked it all up on something that has the potential of yielding him some returns?

We have to be sincere to ourselves that some of these guys whose stories we share on this forum are just careless and irresponsible people that end up wasting there lives and resource at any slightest opportunity they have and end up painting accusing fingers on being addicted to an act just to corver up for there mess and get public simpathy. I'm never supporting what he did or advising anyone to make the careless move of spending all his salary out through gambling but anyone that can't control himself when he sees money and forgets that he has the responsibility ot taking care of his home with the little earning he is receiving deserves zero pity and should go and hustle for his family.
47  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting - How to determine if the line is a trap? on: June 05, 2024, 11:19:11 AM
By looking at the line, you can already tell if there's something wrong with it, and you'll choose to be on the right side even if your heart says otherwise. So, guys, this is just my personal observation. Tell me if I'm overthinking, if I'm wrong about this, or if this really is the key to winning.
I was trying to figure out were the concept of drawing of line comes into play in your analysis but can't seems to find one. Before placing any bet in sports gambling I guess you should already have been familiar with the individual strength of the teams involved and apart from leagues that aren't popular, you don't have to bother yourself about statistics before knowing the team that has the highest chance of winning. Checking out for stats and or even going through sports prediction platform to check thier prediction on some games is just an additional way of checking what people think about some certain match but the bigger responsibility is left for you to do the analysis on your own and make the decision as to which team you're betting in Thier favour.
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you pay for car repairs with Bitcoin? Why not :) on: June 05, 2024, 10:59:06 AM
After realizing the high bank fees at my PDR repair shop, I decided to add Bitcoin payment as an option. I noticed that my customers were interested in paying with Bitcoin after I put up posters in my shop. Although no transactions have been made yet, many customers ask me about the posters and how to pay with Bitcoin. I'm happy to introduce them to the world of digital currencies.
this is a very innovative idea that will make your business stand out from most of the people around you. Most youth that already have the knowledge of Bitcoin in your locality will want to patronize you and with time if Bitcoin eventually becomes very popular in your locality, you've played a huge role in making that happen and have successfully written your name in the sands of time. The only issue with this kind of idea is that the items you're selling isn't all that expensive and might cost nothing much that's even up to $100 in most cases which if we put the fees into consideration might not help those buying in smaller quantity to factor the fees into play.

The number of customers you will get will depend more on how many people in your neighborhood  already know about Bitcoin and as well have chunk of Bitcoin in Thier wallet which they will be willing to use in making purchase. Most persons that are buying there Bitcoin for the long term wouldn't want to give it out for the purpose of making purchase since there interest would be to keep holding unto thier Bitcoin for the long term. But in terms of contributing your quarter to increase the advancements in Bitcoin adoption, this is definitely the right step in the right direction.
49  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin investment helps in better funds management. on: June 05, 2024, 09:41:28 AM
Continuing my bitcoin accumulation journey has really helped me in proper management of my finances.
How? Because the opposite should be the case and not this way. If you are investing in bitcoin then you have the chanced to increase the investment from you business and not the otherwise or probably you are a short term investors who sell off your bitcoin whenever u gain small to manage your local businesses. Well that is another reason of investment to develop your local small scale businesses. The financial management can be properly managed by the two terms which I have mentioned but the long term hodling it for a long term.
I guess you've not read the entire piece the OP has written down to understand what he's saying. From the context I see him making his analysis from, continuous accumilation of Bitcoin really helps you to manage your finance and spending habit.

Let's assume a situation where  you have an equivalent of $10k worth of Bitcoin in your wallet and then you have something that caught your attention and you're damn tempted to buy that stuff, it's more deficult to buy that thing with an amount you've kept out for your investment than having your money in fiat form which you can easily make your buys whenever you want to. The knowledge of Bitcoin also comes with setting other things like your emergency funds in order while you're making your investment and this all contribute to making you financially wise and helps you to make better and informed financial decision such that your investment isn't exposed to being tampered with. If you're a long term investor and you haven't figured out how best to manage your funds, you're obviously not a good investor and can't in the real sense undergo a long term bitcoin accumilation journey.
50  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Twitter (X) now to become XXX on: June 04, 2024, 12:41:58 PM
I don't see this as a big deal at all, goggle and all browser contains adult content that's free and accessible to all regardless of the age of the individual and even a young underage teen can always access this sight anytime and anyway at there own will and no one has really made a big deal out of it. Anyone that watches these kind of content in x has been watching it elsewhere and didn't just get into it because it's now officially allowed in the sire.

If you're not interested in such content, I don't think that you are going to see more of it as you scroll down you x page. If my knowledge isn't wrong, the pages you're recommended to are the once that you've liked or visited or had an engagement with and if you don't want to see such content, you could easily unfollow anyone that's posting such  content. I still know that on my Facebook. Page the only thing that pops up while browsing through the videos there are majorly music videos, sport and comedy. Those are my interest and because that's why I always like and engaged in, those are the kind of recommendations I get. If the algorithm brings in content that I don't like, it's just left for me to unfollow the page or mute myself from it. This is a free society and what's even happening on the street is far worse off than what you see on the media but the decision to get involved in the act is just yours to take.
51  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Becomes of Gambling if Sport book is taken away. on: June 04, 2024, 11:26:24 AM
I don't know is this have been discussed before here on the gambling discussion board or not, but let see how our independent opinion on this question will be and what to anticipate should Incase we find ourselves at that stage in time.

Just as the title stated, what do you think will becomes of gambling enirly if we wake up one morning to the news of global banning of football,  or a country ban it citizens from participating in football both as a game and also a sport.

Do you think gambling/casinos will lose it popularity since chunk number of their clients are from sport bookies section?
there Can't be an outright ban of football globally.

Even if football is not streamed in certain countries, it's not going to affect gamblers at all. There are people that don't even do sports gambling at all and even before sports gambling gained relivance, we've hard alternative gambling means like the whote and the ludo.

Even the current US election still involve gambling and people are still making lots of predictions regarding which person will win in the election, even when the season has had a major break, people still find ways to gamble through playing of virtual and casinos so it's totally impossible for gambling to come to an alt.
52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Season on: June 04, 2024, 10:13:49 AM
Here are the winning chance of each team to become a champion in the next season:

60% for Real Madrid
39% for Manchester City
1% for Arsenal, Inter, Milan, Barcelona, PSG, Bayern Munich, Leverkusen etc. Tongue

Real Madrid without Mbappe can still become a champion in this season, so it's no doubt majority of people will believe in Real Madrid.
it has almost gotten to the stage in the champions league where other teams would have to compete to get to the finals only to be kicked out by real Madrid. Without mbape in the squared we already had one of the strongest attack ever comprising of vini jnr, Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo and now that we have mbape coming in to strengthen the position Bellingham was playing, it's going to be more deficult for another team to get the spot from real Madrid.

As for the percentage you allotted for the winning chance of each of these teams, I think you're underrating the threat man City would bring into there play in the next season. In terms of individual brilliance they are almost of similar class with real Madrid and have a higher chance of doing well come next season considering the fact that Kross is off the team and the midfield wouldn't be as strong as it was in the just concluded season. It's certainly going to be a remarkable journey and I'm hoping Leverkusen would bring a good fight and play there way into the top spot even though they are the underdog in this championship race.
53  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake Google Chrome Update deliver crypto stealing malware on: June 04, 2024, 08:12:44 AM
Chrome and  every other website I have used updates themselves automatically every time. I always get a message that my device has been recently updated with the new features, never a "your device needs update message".

Everyone should stay vigilant and never keep their funds on an exchange or on a device they use often. Invest in a hardware wallet.

- Jay -
That's true. Most of the browsers would auto update themselves and wouldn't give you access to most features if you refuse to update them and when you eventually do the update, you get to see somany features that almost seems as though they've all set up to deprive your privacy and get some sensitive data from you. The Chrome and other browsers case is different and even better but when it comes to what happens when you've updated most of these social media like Facebook and WhatsApp that now have built in AI, the guarantee of your security is as slime as nothing.
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons from 50 Cent's Adoption of Bitcoin for Album Sales 10 Years Ago on: June 04, 2024, 07:51:43 AM
I think that 50 cent, took a risk 10 years ago when he accepted Bitcoin, that hasn't gained much reputation then as payment for his album, we're saying that he did the right thing today because the price has increased over many 1000x since then. If Bitcoin, didn't live up to expectations and probably died before now like most of the shitcoins that never made it, we wouldn't be talking about it now.

Now that Bitcoin, has proven that it's a store of value, I wonder why some people are still skeptical about it today, instead of adopting it, buy, hodl and become very rich in the next 10 years. If 50 cent, is still holding his Bitcoin, till today, even if it's a part of it, he'll surely be worth a lot more in his assets today.
the mix of thought in the minds of somany folks out there as to if it's necessary to buy Bitcoin even at this time isn't different from what was in the minds of the peope in the past that decided not to buy at the time. And what 50 cent did in the past ten years isn't different from what Micheal sailor and micro strategy is currently doing now. We've seen Bitcoin do very well for this number of year it has existed but we don't really know how well it will do in the next couple of years to come and so whoever is buying at this time is almost buying at the same risk level that earlier adopters like 50 cent bought.

We're not sure that he has HODL his Bitcoin till this moment as most earlier Bitcoin holders sold off thier Bitcoin not long after they were in profit. Wether he is still holding on to it or he has sold it isn't really an issue here but the lesson we can easily derive from it is that long term holding of asset would always be better than selling your holding at any slight profit you've realized from investing into an asset.
55  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: what are the other things to learn in this platform outside bitcoin? on: June 03, 2024, 02:59:31 PM
I am a newbies here, am sorry I will be asking series of question to broaden my knowledge on how to go about my posting in this forum. in this platform are there other skills to learn to improve ones knowledge? Is it possible to bring health related topics for discussion in this forum?
the most important thing joining this forum will help you achieve is to become financially wise and the ability to make better financial decision.

If after joining this forum and going through series of conversation on the different boards and your financial life still remains the same, it's going to be deficult to get better financial exposure outside of this forum.

Also, if you're intentional about how you pass your message in a readable and easy to comprehend manner, you will find out that overtime your writing skills will improve and your ability to contributing to discussions will also improve. this forum is arguably one of the best place to bring out discussion regarding matters of personal growth and you're certain to get insight and feedback that will help you make better and informed decisions. Bitcoin investment knowledge is just one of the function this forum serves but outside of that, the advocacy for financial knowledge and literacy is one of the most important function of this forum.
56  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there a legal jurisdiction backing up gamblers against the casino oppression? on: June 03, 2024, 01:48:30 PM
I was thinking if there's a jurisdiction conveyed to backup gamblers during when the casino tends to take advantage over a gambler such as when a the casino penalizes a gambler uncalledfully without a prove of violation.
I only learn that some individuals can only take such case personal upon themselves for a resolution of justice for such a helpless gambler but my question is if is there any jurisdiction to backup interests of gamblers as much terms and conditions of casino sites lies to tender legal backups to the Casino companies?
casinos and gambling firms don't just operate in a region without proper registration. They are registered firm that carry out her activities in line with the laws governing the region and by so are expected to operate under certain jurisdiction and when cases happens that they fault the law iether through the process of not being able to meet up with the demands of her customers or refusing to pay her customers in times when they won, you have all the right to take up legal action against those kind of casino company.

Depending on the region and how popular cases of infringement on gamblers is is, it's possible that there might be lawyers that have gambling cases as her jurisdiction and might easily want to take up such matters but even there aren't such lawyers, the court readily available to handle such matters and I'm sure that if the casino company is big enough, they are supposed to have a legal representative that's supposed to guide them to avoid getting involved in cases that will stand as a huge danger to the gambling firms  reputation.
57  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you ignore/resist cheating to secure a winning bet? on: June 03, 2024, 01:13:46 PM
So if you are one of the specified fun gamblers, can you resist cheating opportunity and just rely your winning on your own ability?

Mind you: Cheating is cheating on whichever way as long you sources your winning outside your ability
Note that people have morals and not everyone would want to cheat any process just because they want to make gains from it. And I don't really think that gambling is done for the purpose of fun. If it's fun, then it's most likely not gambling cause gambling generally means that you've stacked with money hoping to win some cash at the end of the play.

Even if you're not too interested in making money from your gamble and then happens to have an opportunity to gain from it, it's not out of place if you cease such opportunity to your own advantage. Most of the things you see as cheating the process isn't actually cheating in the real sense but rather outsmarting the process. If you device a means to outsmart certain games like the virtual games that allows you to select random numbers or colors based on what's been set out in the system, it's not totally bad and i calculated some of this virtual games to know that they follow certain trends and it's just to try out means that will work out and if it works out then it's okay but if it doesn't work out you don't have a course for alarm.  The fact that you're gambling means that you can actually try somethings out to see if it will eventually work out as planned or not.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't you think you should invest in Bitcoin instead of burning your money in fire on: June 03, 2024, 12:15:29 PM
The reality is that the last thing that someone that's in a state of addiction will ever think of is to get himself out of the mess and convert the money he he's using for such stuff into investing into his future. If they even invest into Bitcoin before taking care of thier mental health, they will always at some point in time sell off thier Bitcoin and use the money to buy cigarette or any substances they've been addicted into. If you don't take care of some other important aspect of your life, you will end up blowing your investment out when it gets tough.

Investing into any meaningful stuff mostly comes to play when you're able to figure out how to live reasonably and worth out your basic need and then you can now make provision for an amount that's going into your investment and then another than can sort out your basic needs as well as serve as your emergency funds.bif you're yet to fix these aspect of your life, the possibility of being able to effectively invest into Bitcoin or another asset will be too slim.
59  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin and crypto assets are safe sources of income compared to stock trading. on: June 03, 2024, 11:48:38 AM
Obviously investing on crypto currency is one of the safest holding one can generate profit without such exposure to threats, although it's quite agreed that the need to make quick profits is necessary as we also have emergency financial needs which crypto investments might not be guaranteed to that need as its volatility potentials maybe concerned in both short and long term goals unlike the stock trading but considering on security aspect, bitcoin is a safest source of investing your funds to generate income otherwise also consider some other reputable crypto assets based on research.
Bitcoin is an asset while most cryptos aren't asset. You have to know that what makes something to be called an asset is not just because it's volatile but the extent to which it is volatile over a long period of time is one major factor to always put into consideration before coining something as an asset. What you call crypto which is mostly altcoins and meme coins don't have the quality of an asset and that's the main reason why people don't buy it for the purpose of HODling it. It's mostly traded because with time, it phases out of the market and looses most of it worth.

Even though Bitcoin has proven overtime to be one of the greatest and most profitable asset to invest into, we have to be realistic enough to know that Bitcoin also has some limitations and isn't a perfect asset. The decision to invest into Bitcoin, stock or real estate is totally individual based and that one is investing into Bitcoin doesn't mean that investing into stock is bad. The same way people have issue with there stock or real estate investment is the same way we've seen cases when people loose there private keys and loose access to all thier investment regardless of how much of a holding they have.
