42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin used by Criminals to sophisticate their footprints on: December 11, 2020, 01:28:34 PM
I am an advocate for Bitcoin and It pleases me to tell people about Bitcoin. But there are issues we need to attend to. Bitcoin was created as a means of payment, and some people are using it for that purpose. Unfortunately, this includes criminals. The rate at which criminals use Bitcoins to enhance their operation and make their footsteps sophisticated is just increasing! Haven't you heard that "Bitcoin is a scam"? This phrase only comes up because people have been seeing Bitcoin used for such purposes. Bitcoin is available to everyone, so how can we stop/reduce the misuse of cryptocurrency? Considering that KYC is not involved because I and some people prefer being discreet about our identity. So, how can we stop this, and I'd still have my secrecy? This is already rubbing dirt on us and needs to be attended to.

Some peoples use bitcoin for criminal operations, it's same term with people use fiat for criminal operations isn't it? We will see people will use anything to enhance their business, in this topic is crime purpose.

"Bitcoin is a scam"? This phrase only comes up because people have been seeing Bitcoin used for such purposes.

Fiat also a scam right, we've seen many people lose their money in scam company. Imo "Bitcoin is scam", this term is irational.
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Made my first payment with bitpay :D on: December 09, 2020, 03:51:24 PM
Bitcoin has come a long way.
Yesterday I made my first payment using bitpay and electrum. It was surprisingly easy.
Easy enough for any normal non-technical person to be able to do the same.

The only drawback was that the fee was automatically set to be quite high: 72 sat/byte, when 10 say/byte would have confirmed in approximately one hour. And still it took more than 30min to confirm.

And the remaining BTC in my address are still worth more than what I paid for them. Even though I have used parts of them several times already.
 Grin

Actually we can setup custom fee, but afaik more bigger your fee so transaction confirmation will become faster and vice versa
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: has bitcoin achieved its goal? on: December 09, 2020, 03:48:13 PM
Bitcoin has accomplished a lot over the last few years and deserves a lot of credit for it but has not achieved its goal yet.  Bitcoin is set to achieve global protection whereby everyone will accept its use in terms of payment methods and apply it to their business and transactions.

I think we should start with question "What is standard of bitcoin achievement? is it technology, price, adoption or what?" After that let we divide achievement to some stage.

In my opinion bitcoin still not achieve his goals in any term. I believe that bitcoin can grow bigger than today
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who has held bitcoin for more than 5 years? on: December 08, 2020, 04:31:46 PM
Hey Guys,
Just curious to see who has held bitcoin on this forum for more than 5 years?
And also, if you've sold it, when did you got in and when did you sold out?

Cheers!

I held bitcoin for 10 years in this years. When i sold my bitcoin? I will sell my coin when i need money, so far i never sell btc except altcoin. But now i keep my coin in blockchain.com , but sure i have to check their rules everytime.

Keeping bitcoin for ten years is not easy for me guys, I move my coin from core wallet to another wallet because my i dont enough disk space and good connection to keep sync. I always move my wallet from wallet provider, from exchange wallet, paper wallet, hardware and etc. But now i keep my coin in blockchain.com , but sure i have to check their rules 4 month. I almost got stuck and can not login to my account when they upgrade their platform several years ago, so that's why i have to check them every 4 month

I think i got mental sickness, fear of loss my bitcoin. Although i kept my coin in blockchain.com i make several backup key, google 2fa, email, passwor, etc in hundred papers in my house. this is really annoying mental
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think Bankers and wall street dont like Bitcoin on: December 08, 2020, 04:13:50 PM
Thats why they buy the most of Bitcoin once they get a lot I think they just crash it.

They cant just ban the btc its in the computer they can only ban cash fiat transactions.
But then the people will revolt and they look like bad on people's eyes so they have to make it look like some kind of accident
But they have money to buy up whole BTC supply and destroy the price of btc completely...
And when it will happends they just say well it was just the market..... Lol
Becouse they hate liberty any kind of freedom.
Guess what will be happening after?
After the bankers together with wall street will crash the BTC the SEC will come in and will take as a "protecter " More power over all the cryptocurrency to start regulating whole cryptocurrency to prevent market manipulation.
But by the time the SEC will take protection position it will be too late for common men like me and you the average guy the damage will be all ready done.

So im not exited about the Wall street and bankers buy up so much bitcoins.
That means they can do with btc price what ever they want and as they hate freedom and liberty most likely they are going to crash the btc.

The stable coin USDC will be there to stay as protected by Biden regime and circle boss jeremy allaire... The former poloniex exchager boss.

The btc might be just the Perfect way to get whole capital in to stable coins bankers and wall street just love them becouse its under their control
Ethereum will survive also as its centralized cryptocurrency.

If they want to crash bitcoin so they need billion USD, it's really crazy if they willing to spend billion USD to kill bitcoin
What they can? they just can provoke not to use btc, ban everything related bitcoin. But it can not stop bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. All fans and developer will find many way to grow crypto

47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its History on: December 08, 2020, 03:39:23 PM
History will become only history and lesson for others. However bitcoin become a trend and pioneer for decentralized digital asset. Before bitcoin became famous like today there are also some digital asset but can not survive until now
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 2FA Google authentication on: December 07, 2020, 04:46:41 PM
Hi tech guys,
Please help me with my question concerning 2FA. Do you think it's essential security measure, does it work very well? Then Google will have my security code, right?
I'm just afraid to do smth wrong like lose password or QR-code or smth and lose my crypto.

Google 2FA work very well to secure access to your private area. Actually we can not know google will have your security code or not, because ethically Google shouldn't have it.

I've forgotten / lost google 2FA on an exchange, and resetting old data is quite difficult. Those exchange can not send me backup my last security code but they can delete my last 2FA configuration. I really sure that every platform have diffrent rules about this.

It's better to have and organize your backup key
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help with my website on: December 07, 2020, 04:27:43 PM
Hi, I am the owner of cryptobust.io,  I bought the website a couple months back and I have made many updates to it.

but my only problem now is when I deposit funds, It was working fine before but now it just wont work. I tried everything.

maybe if someone who knows this script and knows how to fix it can help me.

Thank you very much.

I tried to open your website and got 503 Service Unavailable. Can not see your problem exactly

1. If you are using direct wallet make sure your wallet is synched and working fine, try to restart your wallet daemon.
2. If using API, try to check from API provider. Is there new update in API provider side?
50  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to advertise cryptocurrency exchange platform? on: December 07, 2020, 04:17:19 PM
Hello friends! My team and I recently organized a full-fledged cryptocurrency exchange platform. Unique design, user-friendly website, Estonian Cryptocurrency license and so on. Now we are asking ourselves the main question, how to find customers and establish ourselves in the market?

You can try in and spend some btc in bounty thread to announce your exchange. You can also try other advertising platform such as google adsense, or brave. So far using brave more efficient and cheaper than adsense

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BANANO (BAN) Airdrops, Faucet Games, MonKeys, Feeless, Privacy, Mining on: December 06, 2020, 03:50:32 PM
Even though you are accurately working on the project and why the value of BAN is not increasing its price, what are the major problems you are facing and it will surely help you to get community demand coin, so always try talking with the community about your future and it will be sure to increase the demand for the coin.

Developer still active and working on the project. I guess major problem with banano is in utility of coin it self, with less of utility will make banano bit dificult to grow.

Btw i have source of web platform(can not to say here), but still using fiat as payment gateway. I need to use API if want to work with crypto. if banano team interested can contact me by PM

Hard to give a brief answer to the points you're making, but here's my try:

The aim of BANANO is not to pump its price, the aim is growth of the ecosystem and community, and ultimately use. Still, since BANANO is having ongoing free distribution without the price going down that's already a good sign in my personal opinion, resembling the community growth.

I don't really see any of the problems you're mentioning, BANANO is used in thousands of on-chain transactions (mostly tipping at social media) between its users daily, everything is growing, times are exciting. We are still under the radar and that's maybe good to some extent.

Compared to coins having smart contracts, BANANO as a pure currency surely has less fancy utility, but as said that's fine, it's used for what it's made and the community is growing pretty nice.

Your web platform related to a fiat gateway sounds interesting, will PM. Thanks!

EDIT: Somehow hit enter too fast, finished now

I fully agree, actually i'm not interested with pump and dump coin because it's to easy to do. But grow good ecosystem is more difficult and i challenged with this one. I hope user of banano can use banano in daily life in the future, at least to pay something which help user to achieve their goals
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be considered the “gold” of crypto investment? on: December 06, 2020, 03:44:12 PM
In this case, let's try to comparing crypto to crypto, not crypto to real gold or other assets. Imo, yes bitcoin is gold of crypto investment rather than other altcoin. Let's make analogy that Eth is paladium, Litecoin is silver, etc

Crypto is diffrent with gold, so i avoid to compare gold and crypto directly. But what if i have 10K USD? what should i choose? So i will choose
1. Land investment 40%
2. Gold investment 25%
3. Stock investment 15%
4. BTC investment 10%
5. Brain investment 10%
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Having trouble earning bitcoin? Listen up on: December 06, 2020, 03:32:23 PM
I think this step not suitable for new comer, especially for person without programming knowledge.

From programmer side : So far, i can get income from bitcoin because i sell my service / my code to help altcoin to have ecosystem and grow with them. Sometimes i need to learn more technique / new programming language to get better knowledge, as we know technology moving very fast

From inexperienced user: this is not easy. We believe everyone can get online tutorial or cracked tutorial easily on the net, but it's not easy to learn for non technical user. So it's different story now. They have running out of time and food

Inexperienced user still can get bitcoin in any other way, they can not rely on this way to full fill their life.

But this is other way to get bitcoin
Example :
1. Make and write a useful blogs/website and join third party advertising. CPC/CPM
This is also my my income, i can get more than $20 per day from btc, but it require time to build
2. Claiming faucet
   This is not worth way
3. Joining PPC
   This is not worth way
4. Campaign in bitcointalk
Most of them use bitcointalk to have btc
5. Content creator(text/video)
Worth to do, but most of them paid by fiat

When we talk with programmer it's more easy to understand, but it different story with new comer
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think is the biggest disadvantage of bitcoin? on: December 05, 2020, 02:19:54 AM
Here are some disadvantage of bitcoin

1. high fees (For some people),
This is just a remembrance of the past, 8 years ago exacly. I'm just a little funny about this, bitcoin has zero fee or near zero transaction fee. But now it will become a problem when 1 BTC have thousands dollar.

2. confirmations time
I think this is major problem for me and everyone. When you send money $10 it will consume few hours to get confirm, you can speed up confirm but it will require more transaction fee.

3. power consumption
I think this problem is only for miner, where they need huge electricity to generate crypto. What ever algo will eat electricity (including pos algo)

4. No way back
This is also major problem for new user. There's no way back for
- Wrong address
- Loss Key
- Loss Hardware Wallet
- Got scammed

However i just back to crypto again after several years leave it, and need warm up my brain with new case

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you trust the Code or Human? on: December 03, 2020, 12:15:55 PM
The drawback of Centralized projects in crypto space (CEFI) is fear of hacks, wallet address on top exchanges like binance aren't ours, we don't control the keys, so it's safer to always move funds back to your own private wallet but the DeFi ideas are different, you don't have to trust any entities but the DeFi Code itself but still any flaws in the system may bring huge damage, honestly what can you trust here?

Today DeFi projects are now hackers bedsheet, they sleep on DeFi projects like it's nothing, hack here and there, will you still trust DeFi code or rely on CeFi ?

both of them have advantage and disadvantage. I will trust a code with some condition such as i can view source code/business logic it self. Using of DeFI demands its users to understand DeFi concept and not suitable for newbie, imo defi very useful for experience user

other options to mining with minimum hardware requirement is running POS or masternode. But there are many POS/Masternode coin so we must calculate carefully. Small coin that suitable to mine IMO, bitb, xp, redd
