41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which project/token brings you the most profit? on: March 08, 2024, 06:50:42 PM
The cryptocurrency market, while young and volatile, holds undeniable potential. Stories of Bitcoin and altcoin millionaires have captured headlines and fueled the imaginations of investors seeking financial freedom[1-3].

My most memorable success story began with XRP of Ripple project. In late 2017, at the market's peak, I invested in XRP at 0.2 USD. Within a month, it skyrocketed to 2 USD, a 10x return I'd never seen with traditional investments like real estate or gold.

Unable to stomach the potential downside, I sold, netting a cool 5k USD - a small sum for some, but life-changing for me. It allowed me to pay off student loans and buy my first phone, albeit an old iPhone  Grin

While luck might have played a part, that early win solidified my belief in crypto's potential. It spurred me to stay involved for the past six years, both as a translator and as an investor, always seeking out promising tokens.

Now, I want to hear from you!
  • Which project/token brought you the most significant profit?
  • How did you use profit?
  • What impact did your success have on your life?

Coincidentally, my greatest win in crypto also came from ripple XRP back in 2021 after the corona virus pandemic. I had some ETH during the pandemic but had to sell all of them for survival as my organisation didnt pay for seven month (school). It was terrible to see me blow off my PF but after school resumed, I collected a soft loan worth $160 and invested in XRP on February 8 2021, By May of the same year, my $160 was worth $1,300. But since then, XRP hasnt made any significant move again despite many coins moving 3 to 10 times of their value since November of last year. I had bought some XRP because of the good experience i had with it back then but it looks like nothing serious is going to happen with the coin until the end of the lawsuit with SEC. I have sold it off and invested in AI tokens and Memecoin which have brought good returns over the last 2 months. I think AI and memecoin will lead this bullrun also so its better to position quickly as PEPE already did almost 9 times in the last 18 days. Also if you check most top exchanges like Bitget, Binance and the rest, you will see the trending tokens on those exchanges over the last 10 days are either AI or memcoin signifying where the cash flow is atm
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether Market Cap 100 billion today vs less than 5 billion 2020 on: March 08, 2024, 05:50:51 PM
Hey guys,

I know the tether discussion is not a new one, however I took a look at their recent spike in market cap and saw that
as of today it crossed 100 billion USD market cap vs just under 5 billion just 4 years ago (20x).

I have a substantial amount of BTC myself and I am holding for a few years now, and as I see the USD amount getting bigger and bigger of my stack, I of course, reassess
the potential downside risk, and everytime I can't debunk the tether risk.

Bitcoin itself was around 8k USD beginning of 2020 and until now it did a 8x vs the tether 20x in marketcap.
So how do you guys see these increases of tether and the rise of BTC prises the same time tether increases their market cap.

I would like to have a serious discussion, and not just "ignore the fud",

EDIT: especially the question: how backed up is tether really and how verified are the information they are putting out?

THANKS! Smiley

It's incredible seeing this massive figure and surge in price of USDT. Of course you should know that in a mini bull market like this, the demand for USDT is high as more people continue to buy different crypto and they need USDT mostly for their purchases except some who prefer USDC. So i can say there is more to come when the bullrun begins proper after the halving. It's still a good time to take advantage to hodl as demand will increase more and more. For me I dont just stack up USDT, i stake it on some top exchanges like Bitget that offers 16% APR.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why not try out a less popular but promising token? on: March 08, 2024, 05:12:02 PM
Op if you're willing to hold a token, then you should be the one to make your choice of holding, don't let others list coins for you all in the name of a promising coin. Reason I said so, right here in this forum we have lots of developers here, so definitely a developers would want to advertise his coin by bringing it as a suggestion for you to buy, and they'll seem as though they have done research. So be careful with information you are being provided with. I recommend you do your own research to get the coin you which to invest in, so that you'll be responsible for the risk and outcome of the project. If the result from you holding turns out good, then you'll receive all the credits for making a good choice ball by yourself and that will give you insight on how to make the right choice continually.

In as much as i would agree with you 70%, i think its very easy for someone not well grounded in this space to buy rugpull projects all in the name of looking for potential gems. If it is established project like BTC, ETH and other top projects with good liquidity and mcap. There is no problem but investing in new projects can be dangerous if one dont have all the requite knowledge about it, its use cases and the project team and that is why sometimes, insight gotten from this forum can help someone make an informed decision. I am not disputing the fact that their are several developers that may want to advertise their projects but out of 10 comments maybe one of them can be in that category.  As regards the OP quest to invest in new coin, i actually buy the idea coz if one is able to get the right project to invest in especially as bullrun seems to have started, one may easily get decent returns compare to established coin. For me, Scallop $SCA is a project that am watching closely as the launching is imminent. The backing from industry giant like CMS Holdings, 6MV, SUI, AC Capital, UOB Ventures, Signum, Cypher, etc is a testament of how interested investors are keen on the project plus the TVL has  also surpassed $117. Will also go live on exchanges soon.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Anticipation mount ahead of scallop launch and airdrop. on: March 08, 2024, 12:38:21 PM
In the midst of the current market sentiment, the unveiling of a project like scallop with such high quality and potential is indeed a refreshing sight.

Observing the significant growth the project has experienced from its incubation phase to the imminent launch, investors are eagerly anticipating a successful debut.

With a Total Value Locked (TVL) surpassing $117 million, SCA holds its position as the premier lending protocol within the SUI ecosystem.

With only 14.2% of the initial circulating supply out of the total 250 million tokens, investors are expecting an auspicious launch price. Supported by prestigious investors such as CMS Holdings, 6MV, SUI, AC Capital, UOB Ventures, and backed by prominent exchanges like Bitget, there is a sense of optimism that SCA will generously reward its early adopters and investors.

What are your impressions on this exciting development?
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Viacoin (VIA) - Safe | Segwit | Lightning Network | Auxpow | Fast on: March 07, 2024, 12:00:12 PM
Is there any where to buy Viacoin right now? I know project looks dead but on the off chance you do decide to give it another go i may as well add to my bag.

Yes, here https://atomicdex.io/en/downloads/
Wallet and DEX in one app (Desktop, Mobile, Web) that has VIA listed.

I don't think Viacoin is listed

It IS listed, though there are problems with the only known electrum server. Luckily somebody (not involved with VIA) decided to set up another one. Problem is that VIA is using lots of resources, mainly RAM... because the chain is long and has a short block time, so it also grows fast.
If there would be a community, eg on discord it would be much easier to coordinate such things and find people who are willing to run a server, eg the ones that hold a ton of VIA.

I think they have a discord community. I was there yesterday trying to find out about the quality of the project after seeing hype around the listing of the project on Bitget. Maybe this might help.

46  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Nigeria House of Representative summons Binance CEO on: March 04, 2024, 02:23:57 PM
The clash between the Nigerian government and Binance has ignited uncertainty among users, leaving many wondering about their future in the crypto space.

Recent reports suggesting that Binance and other platforms are contributing to the devaluation of the Naira against the dollar have further fueled the government's determination to shut down the exchange. Despite longstanding accusations of illegal activities, it appears that recent events have pushed the government to escalate its actions.

With the exchange's P2P platform disabled and a staggering $10 billion fine imposed for alleged illegal operations, the situation has reached a critical juncture. This hefty penalty follows last year's $4.3 billion fine imposed by the SEC, underscoring the severity of the government's stance.

However, the astronomical sum demanded by the Nigerian government raises eyebrows. While Binance has faced regulatory challenges in other regions, its resilience and market dominance have remained intact. Yet, the potential ramifications of losing access to a strategic crypto hub like Nigeria cannot be overlooked.

With the recent report of Nigeria legislative arm of government (House of representative) inviting Binance CEO Richard Teng and giving 7 days ultimatum to appear the house on allegation of terrorist financing and money laundering amongst other charges, it remains to be determined whether Binance will still have a smooth running in the country
https://punchng.com/reps-summon-binance-boss-over-alleged-terrorism-financing/

As users contemplate the uncertain future of Binance in Nigeria, the search for viable alternatives intensifies. While other centralized exchanges (CEX) continue to operate in the country, the looming question remains: which platform will emerge as the most reliable alternative should the worst-case scenario unfold? 47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin daily withdrawals challenge records as $2B leaves exchanges on: March 03, 2024, 05:57:55 PM
Glassnode should be more than capable of doing the proper analytics and figuring out whether the funds were sent back to the same/another exchange or not (at least the big ones). So that number should be accurate I would say.

I expect them to do that too however they can't figure it out if a new wallet is created by Binance or other exchange until and unless there are more than 1 transactions to that specific wallet.
That's the drawback of the on-chain analysis. However, 90% of these are going to be true so still, it's a huge amount of outflow from the exchanges. I surely think we will see some huge volume before Halving. Maybe a new ATH? Let's see.

There have been inflow of more funds to exchanges like Bitget, Bybit and OKX recently. Though Binance share is unmatched but the recent restrictions across several region particularly the latest one from Nigeria has forced a lot of investors to transfer out large amount of volumes from the exchange.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Identifying Potential Coins for the Bull Run? on: March 03, 2024, 05:39:28 PM
After enduring a bear market for two years, witnessing the recent surge in cryptocurrency prices feels like spotting bubbles in the sky. It's a refreshing change, and I must admit, it's quite unexpected.

Earlier this year, while discussing strategies with friends for the year ahead, we anticipated joining the market trend post-halving, typically when the bull run gains momentum. However, the rapid surge in prices, particularly of cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH, caught us off guard. Consequently, we're exploring alternative avenues.

Despite the market's volatility, numerous promising projects have surfaced recently. After thorough analysis, many of these projects exhibit significant potential and are already listed on top exchanges. Tokens such as $MANTA, $ALT, GPT, and $PIXEL have particularly captured my attention.

It's crucial to acknowledge the presence of numerous rug-pull projects amid this influx of new ventures. Despite this risk, I remain optimistic about identifying solid investment opportunities.

Given the impending bull run, I'm interested in learning about the strategies others are employing to select tokens for investment.

There are lots of strategies I use, and I'll try to share them, but please note this isn't financial advice.

1. I go to Twitter, search for top trending coins, and then head to CoinGecko or CMC to research the ones I find appealing before checking their socials for activities.

2. I look at announcements on exchanges that have an eye for quality listings, like Bitget. Their recent listings have had decent runs and provided good returns.

Doing these have enabled me have an edge in the market and maximized my profits..etc.

Oh, so Bitget is also good at listing gem early, I know about MEXC and Gateio but sometimes they also list some rugpulls. What are the tokens they have recently listed that did pretty well?
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Identifying Potential Coins for the Bull Run? on: March 03, 2024, 05:20:35 PM

if it's listed on a big exchange like binance then it's time to ride the waves. we all have different strategies from what we have learned in the past. you may not be comfortable with the strategy that works for someone.

some of us are just sticking to the top altcoins. i mostly added them all in the tradingview and watch which ones have been down for several days without price movement. buy a bag if i think it's about to go. sometimes i just keep them for good until bull run is over.

Speaking of big exchanges, aren't there many communities on this forum platform that say shitcoins can't be listed on well-known exchanges like Binance? Like Pepe Coin last year, there are many people who say that this Pepe Coin is a shitcoin, yet it is listed on the top exchanges, whether it is Dex or CEX.

This means that those who said shit about Pepe coins are liars because Pepe coins have been listed or included in the well-known exchange platforms in the crypto space. Am I correct?

Absolutely correct, I don't know if Binance has listed pepe yet but they list so many memecoin not even up to pepe mcap. For me I think memecoin are going to be the biggest gainer of this bullrun. We have seen already that pepe has done 5× in the last 10 days. FLOKI, DOGE, SHIB and many shitcoins have also experienced exponential increase while many top altcoins are still where they are. For me my bag is 60% memecoin and 40% altcoins coz that's where the money is flowing into. Lots of top CEX are also organizing several events for trading memecoin. Saw Bitget is giving 50k BGB in the top trending promotion event in the meme zone of the exchange.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the Season of Airdrops? on: March 02, 2024, 10:50:03 AM
Do you guys know any ongoing Airdrops?

There are lots of ongoing airdrop right now. more than a thousand if you ask me but it's not all airdrop that will give you money so bear in mind, if interested, you can join OGC airdrop or Uprock and a whole lot out their. There are also some exchange airdrop ongoing. Bitget is giving a decent amount of PORTAL airdrop. If interested, I could send you all the links to join.

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which crypto project do you think could spring up surprises in this bullrun? on: March 01, 2024, 09:07:50 AM
I recently did a study and found out that AI projects could be the highest gainer in this coming bullrun, if you are watchful enough, you will realise that tokens like TAO, FET, ARKM among other AI projects are on another level gaining spontaneously.

Another area users are investing heavily is the gamefi project and we have also seen from the beginning of 2024, how gameFi project has been fairing.

One area that I paid less attention to was memecoin projects and it's surprising to see they are actually among the top trending tokens recently with more capital inflow on a daily basis. Tokens like PEPE, BONK, GROK, WOJAK, LADYS, AIDOGE among several other meme tokens have also skyrocketed raising eyebrow as to what to expect in this bullrun. As a matter of fact, I saw an article saying memecoin will constitute about 5-10% of the total crypto market cap in this bullrun and that is a very huge number if that proofs to be true.

With memecoin maintaining top gainers across various exchanges, a lot has changed and it's rather funny seeing people no longer seeing memecoin has project that could rekt them. On the other side, I have also seen a lot of promotions by exchanges giving out cool rewards by trading this coins. Am a bit tempted to join the ride after seeing pepe did like 3× in just few days but am also skeptical about this shitcoins dumping hard on late investors. Do you think there is still a long way to go for memecoins ahead of the bullrun?
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The impact of Bitcoin ETFs on market and Top Exchanges. on: February 29, 2024, 04:53:20 PM
What is your best way to capitalize on this, and do you think spot Bitcoin ETFs will also have impact other traditional financial systems?
BTC ETFs approval will definitely have an impact on the traditional financial system because there are traditional people who still do not believe in BTC and consider it as something fake, but approval of ETFs by the US government has also raised interest in the hearts of traditional people and now they also began to use it. Plus they don't have to rely on exchanges, and have to take full responsibility of their funds, means now they have some insurance of there funds as they are keeping there funds on platform approved by governments.

This will change the mindset of traditional people thus the traditional fiat system will also be impacted by it, people will tend to invest there money in BTC ETFs now, while before approval they don't consider it as a good investment even if they are aware of the good benefits of it.

I think the impact of the spot ETF is already been felt but could only get better in the future. BTC was trading around $40k or so when the approval was made and in less than 3 months of approval, we can all see what is happening with BTC now above $60k and halving is still around the corner. Lots of institutional adoption is also taking place not forgetting individual adoption. As regards the trust about CEX, I think they still plays a great role in the industry an we have seen a couple of them adhering to government regulations to ensure users have absolute trust in them.
54  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Conspiracy theory...Binance in the spotlight...Should we be worried? on: February 29, 2024, 04:06:03 PM
With the regulatory heat wey Binance dey go through right now with so many countries, dem no want add Nigeria to the list, and I believe say na the reason why them quickly comply with Nigerian government to cap the maximum amount for USDT.

Nigerians dey among the countries wey dey actively use Binance exchange to trade and with this development now, na bad business for Binance as them go lose many of their customers because people go begin go back to P2P trade for telegrams and WhatsApp to take run their package. This move e no make sense and e no go help revive the dollar in anyway.
Normally this one sharp, binance exchange done already dey on hot seats from different countries but me dey think am say maybe na only binance na this governments them know already, moreover them get more than 10+ exchanges wey dey run many things like the wey binance dey package their things but the government no dey lite fire to those exchanges. I been done see those news since and I never get more time to put eyes on them na make I no really know wetin dey xup since, but these few days I done see some topics about the small changes we most of this exchanges won do from this our local board. Although I no go believe am untill I witness am. However if binance to really agree to Nigerian government na be say make them already get ready to lose their costumers because everyone wants the best and for government to tell exchange to reduce the rate between dollars to naira will not make any change, so they should focus on what will make a change in our country and not the other way.
But it's not binance that's making naira to skyrocket.. I think Nigeria govt are chasing shadows.  they should tackle the source, export more than you import and make the economy favourable aha. Anyways any good cex someone can use their p2p for now with good rates..

All of us know say naija govt na clout chaser, Lai Muhd and Buhari government naim start to ban crypto, come ban Twitter join but all still no work for them. If to say Dem no ban crypto, we for no dey talk of P2P and banks and government for dey generate cool revenue but as Dem no get sense, make Dem continue. Binance is just unfortunate because they are the largest Cex although the exchange get hin own for body sha. Why the thing no too touch me na because I no dey really use binance and the exchange wey I dey use dey serve me well. Maybe you should check out Bitget coz their P2P is just like that of Binance. Mexc ná another good exchange but Dem no get usdt/naira pair on their platform.

56  Economy / Speculation / BTC above $53k on: February 26, 2024, 05:00:02 PM
I have read often times that price of BTC usually dump before the halving and pick up after halving but it's looking as if there is going to be an exception to this rule this year now that Bitcoin ETF has already been approved and lots of instructional buying going on.

With BTC constantly going up and as we approach March I'm just few days? Do you think we are going to see any major corrections before the halving?
57  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria's government suspensio of Binance exchange. What's your take? on: February 26, 2024, 04:47:12 PM
Binance fit dey face more wahala or scrutiny pass other exchanges sake of the plenty volume wey dem get from Nigerian users. E dey important make we sabi say government actions or investigations against exchanges fit come from different reasons including say dem no comply with laws, security concerns and e fit no be only based on the people wey dey use the platform.
Government bodies all over the world don dey focus more on cryptocurrency exchanges to make sure say dem dey follow the existing laws and regulations wey concern anti-money laundering AML and KYC requirements. Exchanges like Binance, Kraken, and Coinbase dey subject to government scrutiny and fit face punishment based on how dem dey operate and how dem dey comply with regulations, no matter the type of people wey dey use their platform.

You are right, regulations of crypto exchanges is the way to go and not the ban. Advanced countries are putting measures in place to see how well it can be regulated but unfortunately for our Nigerian government they are clueless and don't know what to do hence banning is what may comes to their minds similarly to the unsuccessful attempt they did with Twitter in the last administration. I think it's high time Binance as the biggest CEX starts complying with countries regulations. This lack of compliance has affected them in other several European counties like Canada, Australia, UK and many more. If exchanges like Bitget can comply with this extants laws and are operating without any issues, I think Binance can do same however I don't know for now if Bitget has license to operate in Nigeria but from what I read, they usually obtain license in most countries where they operate.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Exploring Costless Play To Earn NFT Games With Active Communities on: February 25, 2024, 04:02:43 PM
Hey fellas!. I'm looking to get into some unpaid play to earn  crypto games that use NFTs. GameFi is popping off lately with new ways to play and earn.

Anyone know of games where you can jump in and start playing without payment, but they still have NFT stuff integrated in a cool way? Maybe animal/crypto cards.... We know NFTs make the game better or more fun instead of just seeming money-grabby.. yeah?

Specifically, I'm trying to find games that:

- Are legit fun even if you don't spend money

- Have an active community of players

- Allow you to collect rare NFTs by playing that are worth holding

- Have developers who are involved and keeping the game fresh or partnerships that'll enable sustainability

Let me know if you've tried any that fits my description above.. I'm Down to explore projects in my spare time

There are lots of revolution ongoing in the gaming industry with evolving projects transitioning from the traditional P2E to Free to play F2P. One of such project is Animalia which allows players to have complete ownership of in-game collectibles. Their native token $ANIM is also getting good adoption since listed on CEX.

I basically stick to idea buy low priced coins like 0.00001$ that have good potencial
so when coins get to 0.01$ its a very good profit of %

For my self i have 60% of assets on BTC
But i wonder on which coin you have more % invested ?

Aside BTC, memecoins have given me my biggest profits in the last 3 years but seems they are no longer going to replicate the form of Shiba, Doge and Floki so I switched to investing in exchange native tokens like BNB, BGB and MX and it has been a good deal if you ask me.
60  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Nigeria's government suspensio of Binance exchange. What's your take? on: February 22, 2024, 08:21:55 PM

Since the ban on crypto in February 5, 2021, every move made by the Nigerian government seems to have missed the mark. Initially citing concerns about money laundering and terrorist financing, the restriction on commercial banks from processing crypto transactions has not yielded the intended results. Instead, it has resulted in significant financial losses for both the banks and the country funds that could have been retained to peer-to-peer (P2P) operations.

The government appears to have overlooked Nigeria's status as Africa's leading crypto hub and one of the top 10 globally. Attempts to halt crypto transactions seem futile given its widespread adoption. This latest action by the government appears to be another misstep.

Considering the positive impact of crypto on the lives of many unemployed graduates, the government's decision comes across as callous and indifferent. A more constructive approach would have been to allow commercial banks to operate within a regulated framework. However, it seems they are turning a blind eye to potential solutions.

While Binance, Coinbase, and Kraken are among the suspended exchanges, it begs the question: Why these specific exchanges? Why not others like Bitget and Kucoin? These discrepancies raise concerns about the government's motives and decision-making process.
