41  Economy / Scam Accusations / FREEBITCO.IN SERIOUS SCAMMING on: May 02, 2024, 08:51:07 PM
Please forgive format. This is my first time posting something like this.
What happened: over the month of April, I had made large deposits of $2,000 at least three times and made my way into the monthly wagering contest. As one of the top 10, I ended up winning the contest at number 7 for a total of $500. Upon winning I received an email confirming my victory
https://i.imgur.com/rW1fvb7.png
However, less than a couple minutes later I noticed that my balance was drained and set to zero and I had gotten an email stating that I had made a withdrawal request which I did not make. I didn't even have time to.
https://i.imgur.com/mvHbjQf.png
I did not confirm the withdrawal as in I did not click the link. Therefore, it should be sent back to my balance within an hour.
I immediately started to change my 2fa and my passwords to keep my account secure.

https://i.imgur.com/fjLAS4W.png

While in the meantime My unauthorized request was canceled because the hour had lapsed. And the money was put back into my account.
https://i.imgur.com/olzcwZM.png

I also had changed my deposit address into my crypto.com  wallet and made that into my default address.
Scammed by freebitco.in https://imgur.com/gallery/3HUWdyy

I tried to cash it out however it got sent to a totally different address supposably my Bitcoin wallet on freebitco.in and it happened to be my old address so I changed my default address yet it sent it to my old address which I don't know how it did that
The same thing. Thank you. Here are two screenshots of how I don't even know this is possible
https://i.imgur.com/UNGWjUh.png
https://i.imgur.com/1kUxsDW.png

Now since I enabled my 2fa. It made it so I no longer needed a to do a email confirmation before the deposit was sent so I never got a verification email.

However, I got a verification that the Bitcoin had been sent to this supposed old address which I never sent to. Furthermore, the balance never showed up.
https://i.imgur.com/pFhAN9p.png

Here is a screenshot of it being confirmed on the freebitco.in website saying that I got a deposit from myself, however it never showed up in my balance.

At that moment I was screwed. Here's a summary of what I think is going on.

Keep in mind that the owner of the website the Quinn fails to ever respond to problems his users face on his website. Here's the summary.

The 2fa thing is part of the scam.

They make a withdraw request which triggers the email.

As a result of an UN requested withdrawal the customer gets spooked and immediately changes there security settings in belief that this will help secure there account.

However, this is a trojan horse that that allows the  withdrawal confirmation request to be disabled.

Thus, the original attacker is able to capitalize on the ignorance of the individual who is thinking there securing there account by enabling there 2fa security measures.

Using fear to trap the individual into unknowingly let there defense down and be luted by either hackers or some one on the inside or backend of the freebitco.in site.

It's genius really but completely f***** up

Either way, security or no security measures anyone can be targeted rendering this website
Extremely dangerous for anyone who has a balance.

This happened to me the other day right after I had won the wagering contest 7th place $500.

We can speculate all we want as to whether or not the websites secure .

But the fact that the matter is there's a few of us that would like to get the hard-earned money that we won.

So we can keep talking about what's wrong with the website or we can discuss how we're going to make reparations to these individuals.

However, if it's an inside job, there's little chance for recovering the funds other than reporting to the FTC and financial crimes units.

Mr. Quinn in my opinion is either part of The problem by allowing this to happen or he's directly involved. Either way, he's guilty by association because he knows his website's faulty and he fails to do anything about it.

On some exchanges you can cumulate up to 3 confirmation options : 2FA code, link through email and code through SMS or Telegram. Unfortunately, if you've enabled the 3 options together and you've lost access to one of them, you won't be able to withdraw your funds anymore.
I did not know exchanges that allow to set up 3 confirmations together for account security and withdrawals, what I know is you can choose confirmation code through: emails and 2FA.

2FA itself can be a code from an authentication application or SMS code/ Telegram.

Did I miss something like three layers of protections, not 2 layers?

Email, 2FA, and withdrawal pin (which is different from trading pin)... KuCoin has it, and some other exchanges definitely. I can't make a withdrawal without all three.

I can confirm if you don't use 2FA you won't get a confirmation email...

I always receive a payment request confirmation email when 2FA is NOT enabled.

I did NOT receive a payment request confirmation email when 2FA was enabled.

If we don't use 2FA we need to confirm a withdrawal through an email confirmation, without that confirmation email, we can't withdraw anything. A few times I didn't get a confirmation email so I needed to wait for the withdrawal to get canceled (as I remember it's 24 hours) and only then I could request a new withdrawal.

Newbies are making a shitshow again. If someone thinks that he has been cheated and has proof of it, he should open a topic in the scam accusation section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0. Without proof and a nice report, no one will believe what you write.

Are you calling all of us with the same situation happening on the same day liars sir?

You should remember where you came from. You used to be a newbie also buddy.

We could report it to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at www.reportfraud.ftc.gov. They specialize in investigating allegations related to consumer fraud, including fraud involving cryptocurrency exchanges or financial servicces we may also file a complaint with  local or state Consumer Protection Agency to bring the issue to their attention. Local or state law enforcement may also be interested in this type of matter, so we could report our concerns to their fraud or cybercrime units.

Actually I'm gonna do just that if I don't get my wager prize, hardware wallet, or reward points back in no more than 2 days this is absolutely ridiculous and if Quinn has to sit in prison for awhile so be it im tired of trying to track this man down  I'm serious Quinn you know what's going on and your hiding in the shadows but the light of justice will expose this darkness you chose to allow. 2 days Quinn.

I'm sure there can be some sort of a lawsuit about this. I hate to bring it to that but I lost a lot of hard-earned money I was riveting the whole month looking at my place on the top 10 and then have it ripped away from me. Moments later it was ridiculous and like I said I never got my hardware wallet either. I spent thousands upon thousands to get as many reward points as I had in order to buy the wallet which they never sent me and I want my reward points back and I want paid my $500 from which I won on the wagering contest just yesterday by the way, I've emailed support hundreds and hundreds of times and I'm not exaggerating and I hear nothing. Nothing. I scoured the internet looking for whoever it is that's in charge of this dark operation and it led me here. Still the man hides in his cave unwilling to face the people for fear of being burned at the stake

It is concerning that several people have experienced this issue with FreeBitco.in today and been unable to receive support. It is important that websites provide a functioning customer support system in order to address any issues and concerns that users may have. This is especially true for financial websites, as users have a lot at stake and need to feel confident and secure in their transactions. If FreeBitco.in does not address this issue soon, users may start looking for alternative cryptocurrency faucets to use instead. If you cannot get the support you need from FreeBitco.in, I recommend checking out alternative cryptocurrency faucets that offer similar services and have better customer support. Some popular options include CoinPot and Bitfun. These websites are known for being reliable and trustworthy, and they provide a wide range of features and services. You may want to consider them as a backup option if FreeBitco.in continues to have problems with its support system.Dear @thequinn,
As a loyal and dedicated member of FreeBitco.in, I am reaching out to express my concerns about the withdrawal feature on the site. Recently, I have experienced issues with a withdrawal request, and I have yet to receive the withdrawn funds. It is evident that the withdrawal feature is faulty, and it is crucial that this be resolved as soon as possible. I request that you examine the issue and make sure that all withdrawals are processed correctly and on time. Your prompt response is greatly appreciated.

Hey Quinn, I have a serious issue with your website. I spent a lot of time and money to win bitcoin on your site, but someone was able to steal it without even a confirmation email. This is a violation of your security policy and I expect a response. I want to see some results and for this issue to get resolved. I'm not playing around here. Your website is making a pretty bad impression of itself, and I'm sure other users are having the same experience. Do something or you're going to lose a lot more customers.

We won an affiliate wagering contest.  Then within a hour.  The balance showed in my account when I logged in and then flashed to zero and is stacking back up.

My withdraw canceled.

I submitted a fast withdraw and it required 2fa.

Should be on the blockchain in 15 minutes or so.

So so so weird......

Mine canceled also. , I did everything you just did changed my password, changed everything did the 2fa and still I sent it to a different address and it still got sent to my old free Bitcoin address. That's not where I sent it to and I never got a confirmation email so I hope that doesn't happen to you

Quinn, your website has had some serious security issues, which unfortunately has affected me as well. It's really upsetting and frustrating to discover that the bitcoin I worked hard to win has been stolen.
While I understand that these matters can be complicated, I expect a response and a solution. I've been a loyal and paying member of the site, and it's discouraging to feel dismissed and helpless. Please do what you can to make this right and ensure the security of our accounts.
Sincerely,
Your Upset Customer"

. Hi my name is Joe. I'm not sure how to use this forum, but I deposited a few thousand dollars on the freebitco.in website and accumulated a large amount of reward points. I proceeded to order the hardware wallet and haven't received it and I've been trying to get a hold of support for days and weeks. Actually I would like my reward points back. I don't want the wallet anymore. I just want the reward credits that I earned from the money I deposited. I want them put back on my account please. I tried to message support hundreds of times and I've looked all over the internet for some help and it led me to this place finally and I'm hoping that this is the right place. Please refund my reward points. Thank you. joedeeze1742@gmail.com
