41  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buy and Sell Mt Gox USD on: August 03, 2011, 08:41:08 PM
Wondering if in light of the massive price drop if there is anyone willing to sell BTC for 1:1 exchange rate via paypal...  If so, PM me...

One can only wonder if the mybitcoin guy just finished the sell-off.....

43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UABB is a... on: August 03, 2011, 04:30:43 PM
Let me start this post by saying I am by no means passing judgement on him or his intent...

I would find it deeply and darkly amusing if the UABB guy and the MyBitCoin guy were one in the same.

Surely Mr. MBC would be keeping a low profile, but if he really had balls of steel, 'spearheading an investigation' into the crime and collecting all of the available data about it could be all kinds of useful.
I had this same thought when I saw the 20 or so posts to every mybitcoin thread on the forum...  Keep your friends close and your enemies closer right? As the person responsible, obtaining as much information about what happened as possible would be a great risk mitigation strategy...  Sort of like playing a game of poker where everyone else's cards are printed on both sides and yours are not.

Again, not passing judgement, just making a statement in regards to the quote above...
44  Other / Meta / Re: Tapatalk on this Forum on: August 03, 2011, 04:02:06 PM
I may be in the minority here, but I find it painfully annoying when I visit a forum from my mobile device and get the intrusive "This forum is iPhone native! Click OK to find out about Tapatalk!"

If you were to disable the pop-up, then +1...

I think the idea is nice, but their implementation is flawed...
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Value Emailed to you Each Day.. on: August 03, 2011, 02:46:45 PM
Possum,
I will work on putting this together today and offering it as a free service.  What features would you like to see in a system like this?

Would you want notification at a set time with the current price?
Or
Would you want immediate notification based on high/low/average thresholds?

If at a set time, what would be of more value to you? The price at that instant? Or the daily average?

Would a comparison to the previous day/week/month be a valuable metric? If so, would a real curreny value or percentage change be better?

I had planned on adding similar functionality to BitCoins Mobile, our iPad application for bitcoin investors.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Announcing BidBitcoins.com. NEW Auction Site like E-Bay - All Sales in Bitcoins on: August 01, 2011, 06:55:25 PM
...
Thanks Intervex, i'm seriously considering it. It has everything i'm looking for and it looks very nice. I'll probably decide by the end of today. I need to get the site branded asap.

No problem, happy to help another start-up.

Also looking at it again the shadows are a bit much...  It's all layer styles though (gradients, shadows, strokes, etc) so it's easy enough to do away with them...

Now that's very nice. And nothing lifted. I like it a lot. Will probably go with this. Would love to hear what some others think about it, too. This is definitely #1 right now. Thanks!

Thanks,  if you choose it I'll send over the PSD file as well... Some type is rasterized, but it can be easily re-done to be fully type/path based (with the exception of the coin image which was taken from skull88 here on the forum: http://bitcointalk.org/?topic=687.0.)

In all fairness, if you select this image, I will split the proceeds with skull88.  His BTC address is in the quote below if you'd like to send his share directly to him.
You can use them freely for whatever you want, ofcourse if you use them or like them, a donation is always welcome (1MifMqtqqwMMAbb6zr8u6qEzWqq3CQeGUr)
I would double check with him via PM to ensure that wallet address wasn't with one of the recent casualties of greed though...

Hmm... Maybe something like this?

49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Conference 2011 NYC on: August 01, 2011, 01:52:44 PM
Well, we were thinking seriously of going, but I guess we waited too long.  The price for a vendor table jumped from 5 to 10 and is now at 75.  I guess that means there's a lot of demand.

We're in the same boat, 75 BTC is going to price a lot of small, but possibly important startups out of the game.  I was about to sign up and went to the site only to see the 75 BTC price...  As a small business owner, I just can't justify nearly $1,000.00 in addition to the travel cost for an unproven event.

I suppose this all depends on the exchange rate at the time you sign up, but given the price change since the conference was announced I would expect the price in BTC to be going down...

The date is fast approaching, but if there were to be a steep reduction in the cost in the next few days, we would still entertain the idea of attending.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Intervex Digital Releases BitCoins Mobile on: August 01, 2011, 05:42:27 AM
Calling it mobile doesn't make sense, its an ipad app, doesn't work with my mobile device.

FreeJAC, which mobile device do you currently use?  We are currently working on iPhone/iPod Touch and Android versions of the app.  If you are using one of these devices we should have an app for you shortly.  If you are using a different mobile device, we may plan support for it if there is enough interest.
