Hi everyone,
Quick update V1.2 is now live and available on github/windows wallet. This is a mandatory update BEFORE block 5000. This means you need this new wallet or it won't work correctly after block 5000.
You can update now and everything will be fine, so go ahead grab the new wallet and continue mining. We have notified all pools and they are in process of updating also.

Hi Everyone!
We have been working hard for the last 24 hours and have come to the following conclusion. Seeing as there was so much confusion over the pre-mine and there were some unhappy people we have consulted with some of the more well known figures in the Crypto world and they have agreed that we should do the following.
Block 5000 onwards block rewards will be increased to 500 Xuro
Total Xuro from PoW will now be ~10 Million
Reduce PoS interest from 25% down to 12%
Last PoW block will be a "super block" and contain 5000 Xuro
We will be pushing these changes shortly and updated all wallets, so please make sure you update your wallet before block 5000! This will also compensate for the larger than expected pre-mine that was the lead cause of confusion.
We understand some people may be unhappy with these changes, and some may be extatic. We decided that if we continued down the current road we are on Xuro would not be able to become what we want it to be and what you want it to be.
These decisions were not made lightly, and were discussed over the last day and this was the best reasonable outcome we could come to. If you have any suggestions/querys please don't hesitate to contact us or post here! We will also try be on IRC as much as possible.

I'm sure most of you know me from the crypto community. I have heard and understand your concerns, and I am currently working with the dev on a solution. Things are going very well and I will try and keep you posted as we are working thru this.

We have updated the main post with a rough plan for our short term goals and will have more information for our long term in the near future! We appologize for any misunderstanding that was caused and was not intentional. Sorry to hear that you don't like Xuro, if you would like to message us your problems or issues then go for it! The pre mine saga was a big misunderstanding by US as we all assumed that's 0.08% Total which was stated from the start was understandable. Not everyone understood but no one said anything till now. We are trying to rectify the issue so Xuro can grow and are looking for input from everyone. |

We didn't get caught with anything, as we have always said the information was there from the start. Most people understood it apart from a select few. No one asked or complained at the start so we assumed that everything was fine. We won't make that mistake again, and Xuro isn't dead its just starting to come alive from the PM's and interest we are getting  |

Everyone RELAX, this kind of miss-understanding has happened before.
I have been involved with many coin teams and will offer my advice to
the XURO dev here free of charge. If you want any more advice on how
to handle this situation, pm me for my fees and help. Free advice:
Situation:
Newbie account, miss-understanding of pre-mine, FUD all over btc forum and IRC.
Solution:
Contact Bittrex exchange. Explain the situation and offer to send them
any pre-mined coins other than .8% of the PoW coins as people expected.
Then you have two options. If you want your coin to have a greater chance
of being listed on Bittrex and have a higher price, tell Bittrex to publicly destroy
the extra pre-mine. That is your best option to have your coin succeed. The
second option is to have Bittrex hold your pre-mine for a period of 3 months,
so that you can deliver on your promises of continuing to develop and support
the coin without dumping a larger than stated pre-mine, then you can receive
your coins back and hopefully you delivered on your promises and profit.
No one here believes that you do not deserve to profit from your hard work, but
.8% pre-mine is more than enough, and 7% will just flat out kill your coin. You
would be lucky to get on the crappiest of exchanges, the price would be next to
zero, no one would be mining, and your investment would become worthless.
So Dev, you can take the correct actions to save your coin right away, or it will be
too late. If you are truly a new dev and do not have connections, or are not capable
of doing these suggestions without help, pm me for my services.
I hope you do the right thing, but I also took my rigs off XURO till I see the right
things happening. Sincerely.
Hi jimlite, We have talked and this is sounding like the best idea to get rid of the excess pre-mine. We did not realise there had been such a large miss-understanding at the beginning as no one had said anything about this. If this is the cause of action that will help Xuro strive and survive then we are all for it, unfortunatley as we are new like you said so we do not have any connections etc. We would love to take your offer of help if you want to pm us or jump on IRC? ##Xuro We are still here, and not going anywhere and are open to all suggestions/resolutions. |

I for one can say that i understood the OP. The issue is that a coin dev should only base premine off of the PoW blocks. Thats the only way it can be fair. Like the dev said the PoS will be for a very long time but he has his premine in advanced, thus making this not fair as he will have more coins than any other miner at the end of PoW.
We are truly sorry about this misunderstanding, it was never questioned so we assumed that everyone had understood. We wont make that mistake again, the reason the pre-mine is what it is, is so we have the available funds to carry out full scale development and get the community involved through give aways, bounty's etc. We have learnt from this, and wont assume anything anymore and make sure everything is 100% understood by all. |
