41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Problem with withdrawing pandacoins from browser miner on: March 19, 2015, 07:43:44 PM
3 times I have withdrawn pandacoin from the browser miner and nothing shows up in my wallet. I checked the wallet address carefully each time. I only found the first withdrawal that did show up in my wallet with the block explorer. Anybody know of a problem with this?

This looks like it's a very cool project. I'm confused about what coin to buy to support it. Where download a wallet? Where & how to get coins? I have an old HPUX System I could put online and make available. Anybody know where there is a simple guide on how to start farming with different platforms?

Today I wanted to buy some scrypt hashrate at genesis-mining but the web site says they are out of scrypt. I sent an email and they responded with they dont know how long this will last. Anybody have any idea whats going on?

Where can I download a binary that for linux that will use X11? I can't seem to compile it. A binary of 2.4 works great with scrypt but I want to try X11.

Can somebody point me to download of cgminer for raspberry pi running pidora with gridseed 5 chip. Also never compiled anything before so instructions for that or cgminer already compiled would be helpful.

Copper cant maintain the current rate of increase forever. Something has to change. One day asics will be very old news. Here's another possibility:

In a paper published today in Nature Nanotechnology, an international group of scientists announced the most significant breakthrough in a decade toward developing DNA-based electrical circuits.

Does anybody know how to tell which hashlet is which in the zen pool activity report? I get 1 number for each hashlet. Is there a way to consolidate 10 1 MH hashlets into 1 10 MH hashlet?

I was assuming that the whole hashlet thing was an illusion of individual miners.

I hope copper is around for awhile. All of our manufacturing technologies and my job are built around it.

Some PCBs are being built today by squirting conductive epoxy impregnated with silver particles using glorified inkjet machines. I've only heard of this used for prototypes. They use conductive epoxy of a different type for the interconnects between layers of circuitry. Laminate the sheets together. I probably cant imagine what else is being cooked up in labs right now for manufacturing circuits.

Hey guys im a little confused

Zenpools rate as per their site is : 0.00034102 BTC atm

How are your numbers showing the 1MH to be in the 0.0001 area, they cant be that off can they (zenpool) ?

My payouts always show what you get after the fees have been taken out.

The payout before the service fee on Zencloud was 0.00038110 for the Hashlet Zen.
The fee was 0.00020616

This is very important as the payouts from GM are after the fees are taken out and the comparison is then fair.

Thanks Smiley How was it back when Zenpool was in the 0.0006 range (it should be there again)
Was GM still close?

When I first started buying from Genesis and Gaw, Zenpool payouts were double Genesis payouts for scrypt. Still buying from Genesis because I didn't see how double could last and it didn't as recent numbers show but still buying hashlets too. Rootin for both companies!

Most of my experience is with red hat or fedora want to use whatever works best.
A link to a setup guide for raspberry pi that includes setting up mining software would be very helpful.

Genesis mining 12 MH/s scrypt
10/19  0.00231699
10/20  0.00280542
10/21  0.00218875  Averages .00020309 per 1 MH/s

Gaw Zenpool 9 Zen hashlets + 1 Prime hashlet = 10 MH/s scrypt
I add a 2nd pool (CleverMining) to the prime every day. Kind of a pain to have to do this daily.
10/19  0.00171543
10/20  0.00196323
10/21  0.00177965  Averages .00018194 per 1 MH/s

Genesis Mining Averages .00020309 per 1 MH/s
Gaw Zenpool   Averages .00018194 per 1 MH/s

Looks like genesis-mining is taking the lead.

I read this in an IPC technology briefing:

Just as metals may soon be replaced in many products by the new compounds, it also appears that the days of copper circuits in electronic devices are numbered.

As new generations of computer chips continue to shrink in size, so do the copper pathways that transport electricity and information around the labyrinth of transistors and components. When these pathways grow smaller, they become less efficient, consume more power, and are more prone to permanent failure.

It is generally accepted that a replacement for traditional copper must be discovered and perfected in the next five to 10 years in order to perpetuate Moore's Law, the defining industry paradigm which states that "the number of transistors on a computer chip, and thus the chip's speed, should double every 18 to 24 months."

To overcome this hurdle, industry and academia are vigorously researching new candidates to succeed traditional copper as the material of choice for interconnects on computer chips. One promising candidate is graphene, an atom-thick sheet of carbon atoms arranged like a nanoscale chicken wire fence.

Prized by researchers for its unique properties, graphene is essentially a single layer of the graphite found commonly in our pencils or the charcoal we burn in our barbeque grills.

A new study at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in conjunction with Intel was recently published in the journal ACSNano. The Rensselaer researchers discovered they could enhance the ability of graphene to transmit electricity by stacking several thin graphene ribbons on top of one another. This brings the industry closer to designating graphene as the "heir apparent" to copper.

Single layers of graphene nanoribbons are not suitable for interconnects because they exhibit a "band gap," which is an energy gap between the valence and conduction bands, making them ineffective in this role.

The new study shows that stacking the graphene nanoribbons on top of each other significantly shrinks this band gap. Specifically, the optimal thickness is a stack of four to six layers of graphene; stacking more layers doesn't reduce the band gap any further.

The goal is to one day manufacture microprocessors with both the interconnects and the transistors made entirely out of graphene. This game-changing vision, called "monolithic integration," is likely still any years into the future.

If realized, it will certainly revolutionize the way computers and electronics are designed and manufactured.

I'm still going to diversify by splitting my purchase of hash power between gaw and genesis. Gaw's zen hashlets are definitely outperforming Genesis but I've seen to many company stocks crash for a variety of reasons. Can't put all my eggs in 1 basket. I'm starting to put more into gaw because they're earning it. Haven't decided what percentage with who yet.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?
Also, does anybody know any others selling hashpower that have been around awhile and have a good reputation?
58  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is the solution ? on: October 15, 2014, 10:37:24 PM
Some of the questions I see above are out of context. But I'll try my best to clear up the confusion...

1. Solar powered mining does not mean our mining firm is 100% solar powered. But sun light has a % of contribution in running not only our mining machines, but also some of our office appliances. This helps us in saving a % of power cost. This is a nice read regarding this http://blog.cex.io/solar-bitcoin-mining/. If anyone is interested, please go through it.

2. As we have stated before in other posts as well, we have not purchased mining power at any other so-called cloud mining company. We run our own mining facility and thereby able to allocate mining power to our investors as cloud. When investment gets added to an investor's portfolio, his mining power increases. There is an internal mapping for that.

3. We used to mine at multiple pools and have modified our software for a certain tweak to increase the chance of winning hashes. When we find a hash at some big pool, we dont submit it there. Rather we take it to a smaller pool where our hashing ratio is high. This improvised method has given us better return than usual and with increasing hash power its effectiveness is growing as well. That is why, we dont want to back out from the mining business. Rather finding a way to stay afloat even below 500.
You realize that you're willfully admitting to performing block withholding attacks?  That's not a software tweak.  That's theft.

Seriously, What your doing sounds un-ethical at best. With difficulty rising so rapidly causing shrinking returns due to the huge increase in hashrate recommending bitcoin mining as an investment doesn't sound like the best advise. With your investment in mining the advice is extremely biased as well. You should close up shop and go elsewhere.

No time to try lately. Helping with Kids homework, taking them to skateboard park, work all day, etc.  Tongue

I currently have 3 versions of mining software running at the same time on a windows xp pc. Is it normal to run different instances of mining software like this or is their 1 that can run them all?
