41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3641694 ETC has moved from the DAO on: August 02, 2016, 09:25:45 PM
I think the probability of a harmful dump would be much higher from the original DTHs than the attacker. The attacker can't sell all that at once nor at a rapid pace without drawing attention from the exchange he is doing it on. It is also hard for him to sell OTC. This leaves selling small amounts over time to ensure he gets the most value out of it as well as avoid attention. Do you agree with my theory?

If I had a ton of coins I wanted to sell, that's what I'd do.  But the question is, how much time do we have?  Worst case scenario, the ETC price will crash and then he'll want to panic sell to get what he can.  Best case scenario, the ETC price rises, in which case the market will absorb the small amounts he sells over time.  I imagine the "hacker" is savvy enough to know how this all works, and will not risk destroying the ETC market.  If he's smart, he'll devote his efforts to strengthening and bolstering ETC, as this safeguards his wealth.

I don't think he will sell his ETC at once . Is better for him to sell it with considerable amounts.

It would make a lot more sense for him to hold until they reached price parity, then dump it on both chains, which would negate the effect on either chain to some extent. But, there are rumors that the hacker is an insider, so I'm not sure the person will ever sell. Sometimes I suspect this was the desired outcome, and a way to undermine BTC.

Insider or not , he will eventually sell . WE are talking about millions of $ here.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] OPAIR | Unmoderated thread on: July 31, 2016, 08:08:45 PM
Come on guys you give money to an anonymous person on the internet. Why he doesn't use escrow ? How you know the developers are real ? I see some Linkedin pages with little information , why don't they identify themselfes ? This coin smells from miles that is SCAM .
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opair - A scam?! on: July 31, 2016, 04:18:32 PM
Surely it is a scam. Developers not giving an interview because they are afraid ? Not using escrow ? The guy promoting it is staying anonymous ?
And some people already invested ...

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STEEM webwallet sets record with $50k payout for 1 blog post-guess who wrote it? on: July 24, 2016, 10:00:09 AM
Athough this may be good publicity for Steemit in terms of usership, it is probably bad publicity for long-term investment, as people will see this as a dysfunctional and unfair design.

Perhaps it will eventually be associated the ills of the capitalist and central banking system that rewards the few rich at the detriment to the masses.

The best comment i have ever seen about steemit.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How are some people making $11k on steem? on: July 24, 2016, 09:53:09 AM
How are people making $11,000 on STEEMIT?

By posting cool shit there instead of here.

Next question.

make up videos are cool shit ?

I thought the #boypower make up response video was pretty funny.

https://steemit.com/beauty/@roelandp/the-first-steemit-male-makeup-tutorial-bringing-youtubers-to-steemit-roelandp-is-back

There are a ton more girls on Steemit than I have ever seen in any cryptocurrency community.

Steemit is just a blogging platform, that's why . I doubt they know anything about cryptocurrencies or are interested to learn at all. They just made a post , upload some hot pics and are waiting for the money .

49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The STEEM SCAM SCHEME PUMP HOAX - Warning Dangerous on: July 23, 2016, 11:48:29 AM
Real miners which get rewards in Steem, it's a authors/bloggers, if you can write good things join Steem now! With almost zero investment (only your time for write new articles or re-post your old work) you can get nice reward.

Even if many peoples think that Steem is a scam, hype, etc why you should miss your reward? You don't think what you can write something better than this? https://steemit.com/trending

No ,writing good things would not give you the astronomical amount of $ you see on the trending page. You get nice rewards only if the whales vote for you . I don't think the quality of content matter .

Even non astronomical amount will be better than nothing which most of the bloggers have today, right?

steemit posts are buried too fast and are not searchable so it's not a good idea for a blog platform(things change if you are a pretty girl) . Another thing i want to add is the power of the upvotes.
i wrote a post that got 0.00 $ with 20 upvotes and another post got 0.30$ with just 6 upvotes.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin Dead??? on: July 23, 2016, 10:40:58 AM
No it's not dead yet but will go down and down on the market cap over time.

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steemit how can this thing be workable long term? on: July 23, 2016, 10:33:01 AM
(crosspost on steemit ANN thread)

i have a question...

i know someone who already have a blog..she wanted to make a copy of her blog from wordpress to steemit, but she said there is a plagiarism checker there, she might be labeled as a plagiarist..is there a workaround/solution to this?

because she doesn't want to delete her wordpress, she just want to try steemit.

i don't think there is a plagiarism checker i see lot of copied content from other sites there.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cashout $53 with one post on Steemit on: July 19, 2016, 10:25:29 AM
I started posting again made one post but only manage to earn 3 cents from the three votes my article generated,i'm also seeing a lot of good post that are also getting 1 to 5 cents and those are great content,if this is the scenario now,it's discouraging better have a site or blog with adsense ads on it ..

Well i had 13 upvotes in one good post and i got 6 cents while in another i had 5 upvotes and i got 30 cents.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cashout $53 with one post on Steemit on: July 18, 2016, 08:32:15 PM
I agree with the most of the comments here . The whole system is not fair. Some pretty girls showing their boobs making thousands of $$ while others posting quality content don't make even some cents.

so far all the post I'm seeing with a high earnings are indeed good content to read..

Well if you enjoy make up tutorial and consider it good content, i have nothing more to add .
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are crypto miners/investors gamblers? on: July 18, 2016, 04:25:48 PM
Yes trading/mining cryptocoins is gambling .  A general advice is to invest(gamble) as much as you can afford . I don't see any point to lose all your money and be in debt.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: #TogetherWeAreETH on: July 18, 2016, 04:14:18 PM

I think we should wait some time before making speculations about the price !
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How are some people making $11k on steem? on: July 16, 2016, 08:26:22 PM

How is that even possible?

If an average user is paying 0.01 cents for something he likes, how can someone hit 11k with 500 upvotes?

It's still money, who pays $22 for one article because it's "helpful?"  Huh

They don't pay anything. Just upvote the post and wait for passive income from it. They have lots of steem power and just an upvote can give to the posters a big amount of money.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any news on Stellar? on: August 23, 2015, 12:38:50 PM
Stellar looks promising but after the initial launch, no more news on it, anyone know how are they doing?

Just check their site or subreddit. Btw it's common for altcoins to have lot of discussion in their launch and after some months no one mentions them.
