Yup, shits going down in the 28. If only Greeks would get on BTC.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what bitcoin is meant to be on: February 17, 2015, 01:38:59 AM
An exchange should be as transparent as posible, and with all regulations on point.
Winklevii brothers are doing it right.

45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now has a proven track record for creating jobs. on: February 17, 2015, 01:22:56 AM
Where all these jobs at?
46  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: February 17, 2015, 01:19:13 AM
Bitcoin isn't truly anonymous but rather pseudonymous although it can be close to truly anonymous if you used mixers. In addition to Litecoin and Dogecoin, I would have thought that adding an anonymous coin such as Darkcoin or Monero as a payment option would be a good idea. Also, it is possible to trace IP addresses if the site in question utilizes Flash or Javascript which means that your identity could be discovered via a hack, subpoena, or search warrant even if you mixed your coins. This is true even if you used Tor or a VPN service to hide your IP.
Yup but we would go a long way if you can avoid bank details and so on.
TOR has never been compromised as long as u dont use javascript and flash. Unfortunately all webs need it for payments.

Thats pretty fucking creepy.
48  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to squeeze those shorts: Buy buy buy! on: January 20, 2015, 01:45:47 AM
Do not daytrade unless you are an experienced shark. I try to not look at the graphs more than once a day, same for this forum, only on the work breaks or it's too mentally stressing.
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cry me a river on: January 20, 2015, 01:39:57 AM
Cry bears cry  Cheesy

Dead cat bounce. I want to buy still lower.
I want to buy lower too but I have to say I already bought at 170 so I hope that was a floor.
50  Economy / Economics / Re: 80 richest people on the planet have the same wealth as the poorest 50% on: January 20, 2015, 01:38:12 AM
The difference with Bitcoin is that inflation will decrease and the wealth will eventually be irrevocably distributed.

With fiat, the ruling wealthy can continuously inflate the currency and still maintain their wealth without redistribution.

Speaking as a Bitcoiner,
1. Bitcoin is a deflationary currency.
2. There is no guarantee it "will eventually be irrevocably distributed."
Indeed, there is no guarantee but since the supply is limited and not rigged, the Bitcoins will tend to get spread around. Look at the price, all those people selling are scared as hell early investors that are giving their cheap people to new people that missed the -200 boat.
51  Economy / Economics / Re: Paper Money is so Dead on: January 20, 2015, 01:36:42 AM

what could possibly go wrong

Probably as much as Karpeles managing the biggest bitcoin exchange, amirite?
Yes, but that is not Bitcoin's fault, Karpeles has nothing to do with Bitcoin itself.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amagi Metals Now Pays All Staff in Bitcoin on: January 20, 2015, 12:57:59 AM
On a serious note, this is what everyone needs in order to believe in crypto-world as its seeming totally a P&D scheme nowadays and not something meant to work for...
Getting  paid in BTC in the fundamental for BTC to be a success. Right now getting BTC is very difficult outside buying it directly in a exchange which defeats the purpose of a legit economy. I wish I could get a big salary in BTC for work.
53  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you spending your Bitcoin? on: January 20, 2015, 12:53:58 AM
I've only spent some in Steam games since it was cheaper to buy them through Bitcoin than using Paypal with their abusive fees.
Other than that im trying to hold as much as possible.
54  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best faucet sites? on: January 20, 2015, 12:43:30 AM
beautiful list
thank you very much mate
its help newbie like me

While this list is really helpful and informative I sincerely advise you to not spend much time on faucets. Get a grip of it and then move to find some better options.

i repeat,
faucet is a waste of time.. but the attraction to get free money is strong

 Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink

i do a simple computation:

i see the first on my faucet list have an average payout = 972sat every 15min.

this mean you need to play something like 102880 times... to get 1BTC

multiply it for 15min and you get 1543200min

this mean 1071days or if you prefer 2,93years...

oh.. and this playng 24H 7/7days

 Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Faucets are great to get your first satoshis and test the wallets out. Other than that yes its a bit of a waste. You are better off in McDonalds and using that fiat to invest in BTC.
55  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Core - Stuck syncing with network on: January 20, 2015, 12:41:45 AM
What he said plus you need plenty of RAM power to run Bitcoin QT without becoming increasingly frustrating, plus a decent network connection.

If you have these covered and you still have problems the blockchain files must have been corrupted or something. How many nodes are you connecting at? maybe firewall is blocking incoming traffic..

If you are like me then you'll learn better with visual and audio, this is a good video:

57  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Any BTC PTC (PaidToClick) out there? on: January 20, 2015, 12:36:19 AM
In my experience payouts have been woefully low.
This. I think they take advantage of btc being as divisible to pay really low.
is there any site that pays legit amounts and not scraps? most fiat based CPA sites pay better.
58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recommend A Company For VPS Hosting Please on: January 20, 2015, 12:34:52 AM
I think a mate was using CentOS with decent results, look it up.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm back in! on: January 20, 2015, 12:32:21 AM
The price is right, so today I transfered money to Bitstamp and tomorrow I will buy Bitcoin again!

As Zhou Tonged said before their video was taken down, Price Down, Pick up!

With everything happening in the bitcoin space plus price being ridiculously low, I ones again for the first time in over a year is buying. Just wanted to let you know about my optimism  Grin

Do you still trust Bitstamp at this point? I would withdrawn all BTC as soon as possible after operating. Unless you are a daytrader imo don't leave a single satoshi in any exchange. Even Andreas has been saying this for ages.

Amen to that. Lost quite some BTC in mtgox because I trusted that their cold wallet is a cold wallet (and does not "leak").

Never underestimate counterparty risk!

Yes, leaving coins in a market = they arent your coins anymore because you dont own the private keys.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If 1 million BTC users keep 10BTC would it save us from dead? on: January 20, 2015, 12:31:31 AM
As far as I know you cant live off a holding market.. we need a constant decent flow of new buyers otherwise we would be holding a toxic asset. We need new people.
