41  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: hash is so low when i run bfgminer on: December 24, 2014, 12:31:19 AM
Because BFGMiner doesn't correctly process RockMiner equipment, and there's really viable alternative. Basically you're shit out of luck getting the advertised speed out of them.

How do I get my miners detected? They show up fine in MultiMiner but got nothing in AwsomeMiner. Got the drivers installed (silabser v6.7.0).

You need to go through the "New miner" menus, and put in the details of each one, AwesomeMiner doesnt auto detect miners for you.

Don't get what you mean... the only thing that I see when I go through the New Miner menu is stuff about GPUs and setting up pools.

When I CGMiner run directly it says that I need to install drivers for the devices but they're already installed. It says I should be using WinUSB drivers. But if I do that then still nothing shows up in CGMiner (says incorrect drivers), and everything is no longer detected in MultiMiner, meaning at the very least BFGMiner doesn't like those drivers, so I would assume that CGMiner wouldn't either.

Interestingly he has made another post 3 hours after creating this thread, so he probably has re-discovered the usefulness of his account. Smiley

I'm only sticking around if I can my damn "New RBox"es to work or I'm gone. That's why I posted in the Awesome Miner thread, hoping I could get them to work through that and CGMiner; but I can't even get any devices to show up. MultiMiner finds my devices (except my gridseed) but the RBoxes apparently hate BFGMiner because they only mine at 20GH/s when they should be doing 100+ GH/s.

I'm still working on recovering the database.  Unfortunately very important files were corrupted (earnings essentially), and our backups aren't up to date enough (read: a few hours too early) to recover enough data from them for another payout to be processed.

Ideally we'll be able to recover almost everything, but its a very ugly process to dig through...

Consider the extra coins for those couple of hours a tip as far as I am concerned. Much rather be mining on waffle then my alternate pool.

There certainly will be trolls screaming/crying they lost their hard-earned 0.001 or 0.002 BTC for the day, without realizing how much you've helped them to earn in the last X months before.  Please don't listen too much to these trolls.  Wink

Well there are a few of us who have no gotten a payout. I was using a low-end GPU on X11, so I only made about .0001 BTC for about 1.5 weeks of work. Just got a Zeus Scrypt miner hoping to get some higher speed so I could make payouts at least weekly, but haven't really been able to use it yet.

Does your display have 12/12 or 11/12? That would be the chip count and if it is not 12/12 then there's your issue. Otherwise you may have to give in and run the Official Rockminer Fork of CGMiner available from the Download Tab on the Rockminer website. Yes it is an old CGMiner 4.3.3 but Rockminer has tinkered with it and MOST likely will be the only other solution to getting the full hashrate from your device.

Say I do go to CGMiner. How would I make it so that CGMiner only uses the Rockminers and nothing else?

Now these piece of shits are running at 20GH/s. Crap like this just makes me want to give up this bitcoin crap and walk away. And never come back. Not even use it, let alone mine it. All of this crap has got to be the most hacked piece of shit I have ever seen in my entire life.

Seriously, if you're considering a New RBox or anything from Rockminer, don't bother.

How do I detect a Gridseed 5-chip? I can't find drivers for it anywhere. I tried the WinUSB driver through Zadig, but still not detecting. I've got two RBoxes, 8 Antminer u2s, a Zeus miner all detected, the only thing causing problems for me detection-wise is the gridseed.

I've never been able to get CGMiner to work... When ever I launch it, it opens a split second and then closes. Can't do anything with it, nor see why it's even closing; doesn't matter which version I use.

Thought I would share a few pics of the rig now that it's mostly functioning.

I'm using a New RBox on MultiMiner and am experiencing the reduced hash rate issue (~78 GH/s), any chances of getting it fixed?

I tried the --set RKM:clock=unsafe:340 method and got it up to ~90GH/s but the temp readings were all over the place, and a couple of times it landed at 140 degrees. Of course, more than likely inaccurate, but I'm not willing to run it without knowing the temp of it.

Just got a RockMiner New RBox and for some reason it's running below spec. Someone else suggested that it was that MultiMiner is not running the right version of CGMiner. Any ideas here? It's running at ~77gh/s, should be doing atleast 100gh/s.

Please post this in the BFGMiner thread as it is a function of BFGMiner and not MultiMiner.

My own post about it is here.

Understood.
An idea came to mind though; would it be possible to get some functionality in MultiMiner to select which backend miner to use per device? So we could use CGMiner for Rockminers. If I'm not mistaken this an option per algo for GPUs. I know, probably a ton of work for you but a thought.

I would contribute on development (I do code), but I'm not all that versed in languages outside of web development (PHP, JS, etc.). I may be of some use in a few months once I take a few programming classes this coming semester.
54  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S5 Speculation on: December 22, 2014, 08:15:56 PM
Let's see if the price of S3 and S4 come down after the S5 is released

Probably not... the S5 is twice the price, and a marginal power efficiency and speed improvement over the S3. It's essentially two S3s in one body, without the water cooling of the C1, plus a marginal improvement in performance.

And really they just gave people a reason not to buy the C1. They just made their own product obsolete.

The routers IP's are 10.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.105, my computer only shows as 10.0.0.3.

I see. Your second router IP is 10.0.0.1. Then your pc ip must be 10.0.0.xx.
You need to change your pc ip address to static & make it like 192.168.1.50. Then connect the miner directly to your pc & change the miner ip address to 10.0.0.99.

or

change your first router ip to 192.168.0.1 & change your second router ip to 192.168.1.1. With this you don't need to change your miner ip address.

Alright, I don't really have control over the first router; so to change the IP on the miner should I be changing everything in that WAN tab to 10.0.0.* ? Meaning, IPv4 address becomes 10.0.0.99, IPv4 netmask stays the same (255.255.255.0), IPv4 gateway would be 10.0.0.1, IPv4 broadcast would be 10.0.0.255, and DNS would be 10.0.0.1?

BTW, I got into the CP.

I can't connect to this thing, tried both the regular way and the alternate way. Nothing. 192.168.1.99 gives me an unable to connect page in Firefox.

What is your pc ip address? It must be same prefix with the miner. Example 192.168.1.50

My LAN IP is 10.0.0.1. (Can't change it to anything else). My Internet IP is 192.168.1.105.

Info coming off of my Netgear router control page.

I am on a sub-network. We have two routers. One that our main modem is plugged into, my router is plugged into that router.

So your pc ip is 192.168.1.105 ?
The miner connected to same router with your pc right?

The routers IP's are 10.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.105, my computer only shows as 10.0.0.3.

60  Bitcoin / Hardware / Just Got New Hardware on: December 22, 2014, 05:34:41 AM
A couple of questions on some new hardware I just got.

I got a Rockminer "New" RBox. It's running fine. Red power led is on, and the blue status led is blinking. Is it not supposed to run at 110 GH/s? I'm only getting about 77GH/s, ideas on why? I'm running it through a USB 2.0 hub. I didn't install drivers on it. I just hooked it up and opened MultiMiner, and it found it without a problem. Maybe it's using drivers for something else?

Second, I got an S3+, regarding powering it, should I be using two cables on my PSU for it, or would one cable (with two connectors) work?
