Hi Guys

I seem to have found the issue,

The VPS used didn't have enough ram to run properly, up'd the ram and it seems to be all good now Smiley .........just got to wait for the blockchain to download and then I can carry on with the installation.

Thanks

Hey guys

Still struggling to get the node to work on my Linux box, when I leave the installation to download the blockchain I come back a few hours later run the command "bitcoin-cli getblockcount" and find out the server has turned itself off then when looking in "top" its not even in there. I then have to restart the bitcoin server for it to work again?

Any ideas why its doing this?

Thanks

I am having issues, I have gone through the installation as per the p2pool guide, leave the machine to download the block chain..... come back... Type the bitcoincli- getblockcount ..... Bitcoin has shut itself down so I have to run bitcoind ... It keeps doing this? Any ideas?

Anyone know why im getting this fault?

user@ubuntu:~$ bitcoin-cli getblockcount
error: {"code":-28,"message":"Verifying blocks..."}

Thanks

That's what it does when bitcoind or bitcoin-qt first starts up.

Nothing to be concerned about then?

Thanks

just setting up a P2Pool and getting this error when trying to find what block the installation is at

user@ubuntu:~$ bitcoin-cli getblockcount
error: {"code":-28,"message":"Loading block index..."}

Also does anyone know how long it should take to download all the blocks on a fresh install?

Any ideas?>

Thanks
When you first start bitcoind it can take a long time (days?) to download the blockchain.
You can bootstrap it, but you need to be careful that you get the correct data.

Would this effect the installation of p2pool if it wasn't fully downloaded?

I may sound a little dumb for writing this.... with the p2p pool are you your own "private" pool e.g you keep the entire 25BTC apart from a little fee or is it a very big mining pool and you are supporting the pool by having your own node close to you? Im guess then the 25BTC would be then shared?

Thanks

Link to the P2Pool Node list?

Thanks for the reply!

Any blogs on the installation process?

Thanks

Hi All,

Just having a little play around on a space Linux box and setting my own mining pool up... Does anyone know where i can find the source code for Bitcoin so i can mine for bitcoin on my own server?

Thanks!!

hey guys.

does anyone of the top of their heads have the best settings for a SP20 for the best hash/watt/fan rate?

Thanks

the best way to go about it is to read the unofficial Sp20 thread.
it also depends on your power cost.
here are the couple of my settings:
~725W (~800 at the wall):
0.65
0.655
0.66
0.658

was fan 50, but could be auto
max volts: 0.67
max watts 188, 188, 188, 188
produces ~1358GH

or
~646W (~710 at the wall):
0.64
0.64
0.639
0.639

fan 10
max volts: 0.649
max watts: 160, 160, 160, 160
Produces ~1231 GH

Thanks for that... power costs are not too much of a issue as its running it off a solar farm so during the day its free Smiley just pay when the sun goes down... the only set back we have is cooling... we have quite a few machines and currently running the machines on the following

----------------

0.60
0.60
0.60
0.60

fan 10
max v 0.65
max watts 200,200,200,200

produces 1206 GH

------------------

If people have any views that would be great.

Thanks

Hey all, can seem to find a topic where i can set up my own mining pool. e.g I take the entire block unlike P2P pool. I have a nice little collection of miners now and would like to take the risk?

Does anyone know a link?

Thanks
55  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: February 27, 2015, 06:09:56 PM
hey everyone.

As you all know electric prices are not the best for miners alike, does anyone have the best settings for a nice hash/watt ratio? , the best ive been able to get is 1300Ghz @ 720W at the wall?

Does anyone have better settings?>

Thanks

Without playing around with any settings etc the system will go between 1550 and 1650
57  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: February 16, 2015, 10:43:21 PM
If that is pretty normal for something that states its 1.7 thats pretty crappy, i have even upgraded to the new firmware so a little disappointing

Mines are running at 1.55 TH with like 950 watt (guess around 1050watt at wall) with fan at 30% and 40%.

so no hope for hitting that 1.7 TH.. what temp is your unit running at?
