Ignore feature works well... as long as ding-dongs stop reposting his crap.
It's okay guys, I accept all criticism and input from the community. If someone has a legitimate criticism we will address it. Sometimes skeptical people just need time and eventually they will understand we are hard working and ethical on top of the fact GEO has huge potential.

I'll repeat..
Are you the dev or are you paying someone for "updates" ?
Please explain the blocked IP and the IPs listed in the debug.log file.
Don't forget ! I had 'listen' and 'irc' both set to '0'.
Yes I am the creator and lead developer of GeoCoin, however we also have several other developers who are working on the project as well as a strong community of supporters (big thank you to all our supporters!) I don't know anything about the IP's listed in your debug.log file. I suspect they might have come from a vulnerability in the original QT wallet. Although no one has had any problems with it, we have developed a new wallet that will be released soon. I sent you this wallet to test if you are uncomfortable with the current one. cheers

To GEO community... I've been in "read-only mode" in this thread for quite awhile, because when I was posting and making proposals for ASN previously, it all ended up with this... But since I have shown myself here, I wanted to say that I'd be willing to help this coin grow and find more adoption and I can pay some of my own BTC to help make it happen. Things I could possibly help with: * Re-make the GEO wallet from scratch by forking from some better source code. Perhaps Bitcoin 0.10 or some more fancy looking clone. I presume that current build was made from Catsubian Derk, or whatever the name was and is rather outdated now. Plus make Win, Mac and Linux wallets. * Add a proper block explorer, probably chainz. * Pay for promotion, perhaps with Vindyne8. Please PM me directly if you want a reply from me, I don't want my photos to be posted here as well :-). Otherwise I'm back to "read-only" mode... Thanks! Thanks for your ideas. The GEO QT wallet is being designed so it wont be too long before it's ready. Why do you feel we need a different block explorer? Iquidous is quite nice and they just released some new updates. Promotions will be huge for GEO and we have a detailed plan but it wont be put into place until the developments are ready. Come join our slack! https://geo-coin.herokuapp.com/

My thoughts exactly.. Or are you here just to bash on this coin and its community? I agree with you that all these " warnings" that pop up are not really good or something for the image of this coin. But instead of helping to try and solve these issues, you only point them out without some sort of solution for them. If you really like this coin, you can always offer some help on the things you noticed.. It seems to me you know your stuff very well Why should I feel obligated ? I've done my part. lol As a result, people have become aware that : - Malwarebytes blocked the qt from connecting to an unknown and very suspicious IP and.. - the debug.log file is riddled with unexpected IP traffic Everyone can see this is a phishing scheme. Why don't you ? @all Check your debug.log file before and after adding the line "irc=0" to ANY of your client's .conf file. http://www.coindesk.com/unconfirmed-report-5-million-bitstamp-bitcoin-exchange/Can you imagine the LOLz, OMFGs and the WTFs, if it was found that a malware/RAT infested shitcoin, used by one of the staff, was what caused the security breach ? I just received a PM with a link to the updated client from tobler saying that the issue fixed and that I should try it out. lol.. Why hasn't he posted it here ? You don 't have to test it out but since you are the one with the problem I thought you would want to make sure the issue is resolved. I sent it to you because I thought you had an issue with the current GEO wallet? We are doing some graphic design on the brand and to the QT wallet. Once ready, it will be released to the public.

I work with GIS and I don't see how this has any way to help anyone? Esri has all the information out there and is pretty much a monopoly and having people visit locations won't do much and won't provide much data. It's not like we have people out there scanning the terrain with special equipment to receive their coin rewards and uploading that data.
Hi, I am a GIS professional and have been working with ESRI and open source GIS products for over 10 years. It may seem with government agencies, ESRI has a monopoly on the GIS market. However this is not true; The open source GIS community is continuously growing as their products get more and more advanced. In several ways more advanced than ESRI products. If anything its a bad thing for software development to use ESRI because you are locked into that vendor. You have to continuously pay them the license fees and they try to make their products not function with other products. You require their support. We call it "vendor lock". ESRI does not have "all the information out there" either and GIS is so much more than just data collection alone. The GeoCashing wallet itself has huge potential for the crowd to source GIS data by verifying things in real life (still so much we can develop, try to open your mind to the possibilities of what we can accomplish with these technologies & the newest devices inside smartphones) but the main advantage to the GIS industry will be with the developments of the Geominer. At the moment we don't have heavy GIS development but you have a developer who understands geographic databases, spatial analysis, online mapping applications and the integration of blockchain technology. GIS markets will be a future focus of ours. Our current focus is the geocashing game targeting users of foursquare, ingress, geocaching, etc. Feel free to come chat with us in the Slack group and I can explain more of our GIS + crypto concepts if you're interested. Cheers

Awesome idea, but...how are the Greeks going to know this is going on? Or more specifically, how are they going to know about it in any considerable number?
We're not ready for this type of campaign yet, it just kind of started organically and its great to see such interest in the software. This type of organic action shows how geocoin can really take off virally. People want to be involved. It's a unique marketing tool that we have for GEO. That being said, social media integration is in development. There will be a new release of the Geocashing wallet with several updates in the coming weeks. The UI will be super easy for anyone to get involved and spread the word. Yep, forgot log in on my old account so created a new one and the error comes up when i try to generate deposit wallet address, i hope it get resolves soon I have same issue, waiting for 2 weeks now, hopefully this gets corrected so I can start using it. I'm working on this today and will update you guys soon.

We have someone working on the QT wallet. In fact it is fully functional already but we are implementing some branding decisions before releasing it.
The dev is not missing, you can come to the slack anytime to talk to us.

hmmm... Interesting man... I just wonder why nobody found/mentioned this before... Some high quality exchanges are hosting this coin also.. Although they compile from source obviously en dont work with a qt... But still... They normally won't host a coin if the qt wallet is a virus etc. Or am I totally off here? I am confused about this... There's a false positive in the windows qt. I plan to recompile it so this issue will be solved with the next release of the QT wallet. The Virustotal results show ALOT more than just a false positive and you have completely ignored the suspicious network traffic. Verrry phishy ! I have asked with him This my PM There is no need to worry, it's a known false positive with the IRC code. It will be fixed for the next wallet release. There is no malicious code in GEO. cheers, Tobler Iam investor buy more, hold and look future about this coin, that why iam not want to share to public, so iam waiting for new wallet Why are you ignoring the debug.log results ? Don't ask... find out for yourself. Open the client's debug.log file with note pad then try some of those IPs here --> http://www.urlquery.net/2015-06-12 12:41:10 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:41:11 trying connection 77.249.89.46:9748 lastseen=1802.3hrs 2015-06-12 12:41:16 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:41:17 trying connection 104.219.250.234:9748 lastseen=7.2hrs 2015-06-12 12:41:22 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:41:22 trying connection 82.238.124.41:9748 lastseen=33.6hrs 2015-06-12 12:41:27 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:41:28 trying connection 77.85.35.151:9748 lastseen=170.7hrs 2015-06-12 12:41:33 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:41:33 trying connection 137.135.57.119:9748 lastseen=27.6hrs 2015-06-12 12:41:38 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:41:39 trying connection 96.54.4.190:9748 lastseen=21.7hrs 2015-06-12 12:41:44 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:41:44 trying connection 87.154.210.76:9748 lastseen=378.8hrs 2015-06-12 12:41:49 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:41:50 trying connection 103.230.107.12:9748 lastseen=2166.3hrs 2015-06-12 12:41:55 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:41:55 trying connection 104.219.250.234:9748 lastseen=7.2hrs 2015-06-12 12:42:00 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:42:01 trying connection 62.157.39.12:9748 lastseen=2675.3hrs 2015-06-12 12:42:06 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:42:06 trying connection 71.100.135.84:9748 lastseen=16.9hrs 2015-06-12 12:42:11 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:42:12 trying connection 162.255.117.105:9748 lastseen=52.5hrs 2015-06-12 12:42:17 trying connection 104.219.250.234:9748 lastseen=7.2hrs 2015-06-12 12:42:22 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:42:23 trying connection 71.100.135.84:9748 lastseen=16.9hrs 2015-06-12 12:42:28 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:42:28 trying connection 5.139.143.81:9748 lastseen=3461.6hrs 2015-06-12 12:42:33 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:42:34 trying connection 104.219.250.234:9748 lastseen=7.2hrs 2015-06-12 12:42:39 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:42:39 trying connection 104.219.250.234:9748 lastseen=7.2hrs 2015-06-12 12:42:44 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:42:45 trying connection 87.154.214.25:9748 lastseen=2063.7hrs 2015-06-12 12:42:50 connection timeout ************************************************************ 2015-06-12 12:42:50 trying connection 104.219.250.234:9748 lastseen=7.2hrs** ************************************************************ 2015-06-12 12:42:55 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:42:56 trying connection 80.57.229.215:9748 lastseen=115.2hrs 2015-06-12 12:43:01 connection timeout 2015-06-12 12:43:01 trying connection 77.232.5.253:9748 lastseen=1191.0hrs
The issue has been identified and we're in the process of fixing it. There must be some vulnerabilities in the QT software so recompiling without any IRC should do it. If anybody good with compiling wallets on windows wants to give it a shot it would be very much appreciated. I'm sure there are people that have compiled hundreds of different crypto wallets. That way I can focus on the HTML5 geocashing wallet. There is nothing malicious in the source code of GEO (as reviewed by Poloniex and Bittrex).

Thx for mentioning it. I also posted it at the Slack group. I'm just reindexing the blockchain for the explorer. It will be back up later today after it finishes. Ups. looks like reindexing was unsuccessful Im still not see my GEO address from Bittrex The re-indexing finished, the block explorer should be all up to date. Please search for your address again.

Ups. looks like reindexing was unsuccessful No joke, the BE is still reindexing every GEO tx. There are no errors yet so once it's done the BE should be all up to date. In the meantime, check out the beta facebook integration we've been working on. You can share the map or any 1 particular coin: Try out the new URLS for sharing your maps: http://wallet.geocoin.cash/index.php?page=landing_beta&x=23.3922958374&y=42.6916861703&z=16&t=coinThis will make it very easy for new users to get into the game. There's no need to go through any unnecessary steps, just follow the link and start hunting GEO immediately! No sign up required until you get to your first GEO.
