I switched back to 1.4.0.1 for now. reasons: - The last few days a lot of my staking coins ended up in change addresses.
- Trying to consolidate coins back from change addresses to the original stake address using coin control would fail with "The amount exceeds your balance"
(even though my transfer amount was smaller than the selected inputs - fees) - S4C would sometimes send the transaction twice (double the amount)
- S4C would sometimes stop working even though enabled (no S4C transactions)
I was a bit worried that switching back to 1.4.0.1 would cause wallet compatibility issues but it worked fine and I was able to consolidate my coins into a single staking address again.

Does nobody else use the 'hide signatures' feature? I turned them off long ago, it cleaned up the reading experience immensely.
Thank you! TIL. Profile > Look and Layout Preferences > Don't show users' signatures It's like adblock for bitcointalk

Probably best to keep things simple. Bells and whistles introduce overhead and can cause unexpected issues. otoh, I don't mind if HoboNickels-Qt is feature rich as long as hobonickelsd remains lean. Having a trollbox integrated in a wallet would certainly set HoboNickels apart from the rest and might be a great way to build an active community. (I imagine most people that download the wallet won't discover this thread). Of course, it might also open the doors to IRC phishing bots preying on users right inside of the wallet. That might be somewhat undesirable

My vote goes to Design Thirteen by LitcoinCollector
I like the elegant simplicity compared to most other designs. Good job.

Installed 1.5 beta 2 today. Looks good so far! (no issues).
The network tab with the block explorer is really cool. Also like the new info screens (block/node/stake). The block explorer currently supports block and txid lookup. Are there plans to enable address lookup in the future?
Stake for charity UI is another great addition. I noticed the icons for 'send' and 'charity' are the same which can be slightly confusing but no biggie. I've set it to donate 10% to F1TranzWqFGZyFeTMu6iLbtTQgdXuJPsiL this month as a way to show my appreciation and support the dev :)

Second Beta release of 1.5 is ready. Most of this dealt with the Block Browser. It needed a major work over. The code has been cleaned up and is now working with both PoW and PoS. The transaction page will now allow right click into the browser. https://github.com/Tranz5/HoboNickels/releases/tag/1.4.8.0Please let me know if there are any issues. Thanks! Awesome! I'll test it this weekend

Actually the YT link was pretty good. I enjoyed watching that mini-documentary.
The beanie baby dad had a bit of a Heisenberg look to him... Breaking Beanies.
I'd say there are some parallels to Bitcoin in that the market ultimately decides value and the market is unpredictable. That said, Bitcoin was engineered to have highly desirable and useful properties to enable secure and efficient transfer of value over digital networks. Something that can't be said of Beanie Babies which merely have a novelty or collector value. Still, as we've seen with Dogecoin and others, human psychology plays a huge part in how things ultimately unfold.

ASICMiner is rolling out a new farm with the purpose of pushing the competing farms into the red. It is a war of attrition now. Amateur miners are just collateral.

Yes both the explores are down If it helps, I've got an idle VPS (6 Xeon, 6GB RAM, 70GB SDD, 1Gb/s) that I'd be happy to run a copy of Unick's HBN explorer on so we have a backup option. Just send me a PM. Unrelated: I just read that Dogecoin will be merge mined with Litecoin ( source). I wonder if the same could be achieved for HBN & CAP since they are both maintained by Tranz. This might make these coins more attractive to PoW miners. Has this been considered already?

Nice job! The UI is a bit too grey-ish for my taste, but overall it works well! Are you still working on it? Also, how did you create those spiffy QR codes on the http://thepiwo.com/about.php page?

Lets not make the same mistakes ghash.io and others made. I hope AM can be a good steward for Bitcoin and use P2Pool.

Interesting.
Does the download link work for anyone?

Neither PoW or PoS is perfect. But as a miner I do know this:
* Most of the investment in PoW coins ends up in the pockets of chip manufacturers and electricity companies.
* Nearly all of the investment in PoS coins stays in the coin ecosystem and benefits all holders.
