I have two coins, MGO and QORA that were deposited in my wallets... A gift, I suppose. That means that my cost basis is zero on both. However, for reasons I don't understand, CT show MGO as having a current value on the Dashboard and Unrealized Profit Potential provided I have checked the box for "Add Deposits and Withdrawals to the remaining amount".

QORA also shows a balance, but it is not considered to have a current value on the Dashboard, nor does it show Unrealized Gain /Loss on on that page.

To me, both coins should be presented the same way in both places, but they are not. Why is that?

Feature Suggestion;
In the "Balance by Exchange" report, I suggest you add a checkbox to allow the user to "hide" any wallet with a zero balance of all currencies or to hide any currency within a multi-wallet that has a zero balance.

This would make it easier to spot wallets that have a currency with a negative or positive balance.

Another Feature Suggestion:
Right now, you show a chart of the past 30 days of BTC in USD. It would be helpful if there were a way to select a 30 day range in the portfolio chart, so the time-frames line up. That way a user could see at a glance if their trading was outperforming BTC or not.

I initially started using CoinTracking for @6 months but had too many trades with the PRO account that I upgraded my subscription to CoinTracking UNLIMITED for 2 Yrs.  Thank you for this software!

When I started using CoinTracking I was manually importing many wallet and exchange transactions. But my balances were so far off that I decided to wait for the Automated Import API to GDAX, then deleted my GDAX manual entries and let the new trades automatically update. 

I want the same benefits of the Automated Import API for Gemini Exchange please?  I want the Automated Import API because I am now trading there more often and can't spend more time manually updating individual txs there - even for manual imports - it just takes too much effort.  It would be very nice if you would add the the Automated Import API for Gemini Exchange.  They are one of the only exchanges in the world that legitimately obtained a Bank Charter to do crypto and they are in NY State under the toughest rules in Cryptoland.  They really deserve the props.

Please add Automated Import API for Gemini Exchange as soon as possible.

wenn eine Altcoin Wallet eine Exportfunktion besitzt nehme ich an man kann die CSV Datei in CT einlesen und die Staking rewards werden korrekt erkannt.
Was ist denn die beste Herangehensweise wenn kein CSV Export existiert? Man kann ja schlecht die ganzen gestakten Coins von Hand eintragen.

Am Ende des Jahres Differenz zwischen tatsächlichen Coins und gekauften Coins als Staking reward annehmen? Wenn sowieso 25% Abgeltungssteuer anfällt ist ja auch egal wann der Zufluss war, oder?

leider fehlt in der Rubrik "Trade Preise" die Gruppe als Anzeige und Suchkriterium. Als Börse nutze ich für alle Einträge die Börsennamen (wie Bittrex, Kraken, usw.) bzw. die Geldbörse/Wallet (pub key).
In der Gruppe steht dann die genaue Unterteilung nach mined Blocks, mined uncles, transactions, internal transactions, token transfers.
Ich kann nun leider in "Trade Preise" nicht die geminten Coins auswählen und anzeigen lassen. Dafür müßte ich meine gesamte Beschreibungsstruktur verändern. Besteht die Möglichkeit die "Gruppe" bei "Trade Preise" einzufügen?

vielen Dank für die Details zur Steuer. Du hast recht, ich hatte vergessen, dass der Gewinn der geminten Coins kein privates Veräußerungsgeschäft darstellt, sondern anders betrachtet wird.

Der Vorteil, das Börsenfeld für den pub key nutzen zu können, ist, dass man dadurch die Funktion Bilanz nach Börse und den Steuerreport besser nutzen kann.

Steve, thanks for the tip. That will be a helpful workaround. It only affected 2 entries so I just manually changed them. Any insights on working with the different timestamps. I noticed Coinbase time had a 0700 field I'm guessing means +7 hours for UTC. Poloniex time is also different. When I import entries from these exchanges they are out of order and I am having to manually correct them.

Another paranoia I have is I've been annotating wallet addresses in case I ever need to "prove" something. Is this overkill?

erst mal ein dickes Lob für Cointracking. Hatte erst überlegt mit einem Freund selbst etwas zu entwickeln, vor allem um die Arbeit bei der Steuererklärung zu erleichtern, aber seit ich Cointracking gefunden habe ist die Idee hinfällig, weil es das schon sehr gut umgesetzt gibt!

Ich habe jetzt mal bisschen damit rumgespielt und alle meine Trades eingefügt und auch mal testweise einen Steuerreport erstellt.
Wie füge ich den am besten meine initiales Investment ein? Ich hatte es erst als Trade von EUR -> BTC drin, dann habe ich allerdings EUR als Minusbeträge in meiner Bilanz und bekomme die Warnung 'Es liegt kein passender Kauf zu diesem Verkauf vor. Nehme Kauf am gleichen Tag für 0 USD an.' und es erscheint am Ende als Gewinn.

Mir ist noch etwas anderes aufgefallen: Ich habe beispielsweise X GAME im Februar gekauft und habe seit dem diese X GAME nicht mehr getraded. Allerdings habe ich die Coins vor kurzem vom Exchange in eine Wallet verschoben. Im Tax-Report beim Abschlussbericht zu nicht verkauften Positionen wird das ganze auch mit richtigem Datum erkannt. In der Tax-free Coins Übersicht ist es nicht so, dort werden mir keine X GAME im Februar 2018 als steuerfrei angezeigt. Müssten die X GAME nicht trotzdem im Februar 2018 steuerfrei sein?

Dashboard reported amount does not match amount shown  on ethplorer.io.


I've imported my purchases and trades from Bittrex without any issue.  I transferred all of my ETH to my Trezor, which has a MEW address.  The amount shown in Trezor/MEW matches ethplorer.io, however, the Cointracking database underreports my ETH by about 25%.  I have deleted and reimported my trades and MEW address multiple times, but cannot get Cointracking database to match the amount in MEW.

Additionally, when I manually input a trade to reflect the difference, the Cointracking database then overrepresents the ETH amount. 

 
Any suggestions?

When I export my trade history from exchange platforms (such as GDAX and Bittrex) and import them into Cointracking, I noticed the trade timestamps change by -2 hours. As a result, my portfolio value is quite inaccurate.
My timezone is correctly configurated in those exchange platforms (UTC+1), but when it comes to Cointracking it changes all the times to UTC -1. My Cointracking account timezone is UTG+1 aswell.

Eine Kommentar Spalte wäre in der P&L Übersicht ebenfalls sehr praktisch. Dort könnte man sich zum Beispiel Marketcap oder Price Targets setzen.

vorweg vielen Dank für diese großartige Seite. Ich bin gerade erst eingestiegen in das ganze und finde es super sich alles so detailiert ablegen zu können und sich bei der Steuererklärung somit einige Zeit sparen zu können.

Wenn ich das jetzt richtig verstehe bezüglich des Blockchain Imports geht es hier aber auch wirklich nur um das Wallet und die Einzahlung die ich ab und zu auf dieses komme und nicht um die Auszahlungen auf mein Mining Pool Konto, richtig?
Das wäre noch super gewesen, aber würde wahrscheinlich auch den kompletten Account zuspammen mit den ganzen Mini Zahlungen, oder?

Zudem fände ich es super wenn in der Zusammenfassung bei der Übersicht auch die Möglichkeit bestände, Coins aus dem Mining von gekauften Coins zu differenzieren. Eventuell auch einfach das man in der Tabelle die Auswahl hat, ob dieser Betrag mit in die Zusammenfassung einfließen soll.
