Just in case anyone is tempted by the recent Orbitcoin thread which is self-moderated, hence the reason for this separate thread, as otherwise this would probably be deleted.... 1 million coins out of a total ever-to-be-mined of 3.7 million, in other words 27% of all coins ever to be produced, were instamined in the first 6 minutes of mining. Proof: http://atlas.phoenixcoin.org:1080/chain/Orbitcoin?count=100&hi=20These originally ended up at the Orbitcoin "foundation" address" of odYLBLUg6xtR8jvKus3NyzhFERwKTtTCLi http://atlas.phoenixcoin.org:1080/address/odYLBLUg6xtR8jvKus3NyzhFERwKTtTCLiSupposedly, according to https://www.facebook.com/orbitcoin/posts/201834529981371 "1 million sit's in the foundation wallet from the start and can be seen here (odYLBLUg6xtR8jvKus3NyzhFERwKTtTCLi)" "the foundation has a goal, to spread out the coins among new crypto users on scientific forums, and open source science projects, well also supporting the Orbitcoin exchange price for miners." Between July 2013 and December 2013 the foundation address balance reduce from 1 million orbitcoin to just 51,275.45 orbitcoin. It seems to have been dispersed to other addresses, thus making the "foundation address" redundant. Where did it go I wonder, and why wasn't it kept in the foundation address for transparency? See below for what has happens with funds. I don't see anything wrong with this. Pre-mine ORB was used to help sustain and promote. https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/40243-orbitcoin-advancement-fund/ghostlander, on 03 Aug 2015 - 3:43 PM, said: I'm going to use this thread for accounting needs related to our Advancement Fund. It contains the remaining part of the original pre-mine after having the rest spent in 2013 on various bounties, promotion, infrastructure maintenance, etc. Miners have received probably the largest chunk of it in lucky transaction fees. There were 150K ORB left by the summer of 2014. They have been used for the following means: 7.6K ORB paid out to the miners of the forked v1.3.2 chain early in 2014 until v1.4 had been released with the PoW mining fixed (Orbitcoin v1.3.2 Coin Exchange); 600 ORB distributed among the people who mined the first 50 PoW blocks after the switch to NeoScrypt in December of 2014 (100 ORB to the 1st block finder and 10x payouts for the next 50 blocks); 5K ORB sent to David who had designed an excellent web site for Orbitcoin (3-Aug-2015). 136793.557749 ORB available for the future challenges oRBBYYiaQ6Kw5fhf2b9YiT86HmynCBsoej

Hello,
Trying to understand more about the monero source code... How many hashes does it take to make 1 monero and what determines the hash rate in monero source code?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
The difficulty is determined by next_difficulty located here in the source code: https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero/blob/master/src/cryptonote_core/difficulty.cppThe units of difficulty are hashes, which means at a difficulty of 600 million, you would need to search 600 million hashes on average to solve a block. (This is different from Bitcoin.) Each block has a variable reward but currently it is about 9.25 XMR, so 600 million hashes gets you about 9.25 XMR, or roughly 65 million hashes per XMR. The actual network hash rate is unmeasurable but it can be approximated by taking the current difficulty and dividing by the target, with is 60 seconds. So at 600 million difficulty the total hash rate of the network would be about 10 million. For reference GPUs generally hash at about 200-600 hash/sec and CPUs are about 50-60 hash/core/sec given sufficient cache. Thank you very much for you reply and detailed answer. Would like to understand more about the differences in the cryptonote code and monero code. When creating the monero genesis block was this achieved the same way as starting bit monero daemon on seed server with the same flags as cryptonote..for example bitmonerod --print-genesis-tx Then pasting printed hex in configuration file? src/cryptonote_config.h Example: const char GENESIS_COINBASE_TX_HEX[] "he string here";

Hello Everyone, I am looking to get an interesting discussion going on what could be done better with new forks of the CryptoNote algorithm. Below is a pic of all the forks that have come about from BCN. There are many, but I really don't want to focus the disucssion on just one coin. I would like to get your thoughts on what makes each of these coins good and what does not. What improvements could be made in these coins or if you could take all of the good out of each of these coins and make them into one, what would that be? Anyway hope we can get a good discussion out of this as I am really interested in the CryptoNote community and future developments. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi61.tinypic.com%2Fny5q1w.jpg&t=663&c=Ju5JkeQB3d-tYA)

So there is only 1 possible reward (500satoshi) at the moment and reduce the referral commission to 50%? I was enjoying the last rewards (1000/2000satoshi and 100% ref commission) I earn more than enough from referrals. Hope you boost it again in the near future ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Hi, Thanks for all the referrals! The referral commission has always been 50% and will remain. I will have to keep with the 500 satoshi for now as I can't always keep the balance high like it was during the boost periods. The boost periods had come from my own funds and not the adverts. I do plan to do the boosts again though. Thank you again for visiting and referring.

Wanted to post the most current payout stats. Hope all who claimed enjoyed the free satoshi. Reward will be at 500 satoshi for a little while now. Notice the 2 peaks in chart below. Those were the balance boosts and how long the boost period lasted. I hope to see a 3rd peak soon. Cheers ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi59.tinypic.com%2F1213ibd.jpg&t=663&c=S_qj3Y2wUYWwfw)

I never visited this faucet, but it makes me wait 21 minutes ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Hi, Can you advise if the wait is before claim of reward and what country your ip is from? In order to fight bots there are some restrictions in place for site visitors in specific countries that are know to heavily use bots.

Rewards are good how long are you planning to keep it? Coz traffic will be good with such rewards.
Hi, Thanks for the post and your question regarding the reward. Currently adverts are not generating that much satoshi, so all that is received goes back into balance. The large satoshi balance that you see today is a thank you to all site visitors. Once the current satoshi balance reduces significantly I will then have to reduce the reward. Hopefully this news will not discurage you or any other visitors from visiting digitaldice.io in the future. In light of what I have mentioned above I do plan on continuing to adding balance boosts from time to time as a continuous effort to say thanks! Cheers! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

You're one of the first faucets in my rotator, and will be getting a further boost shortly (I believe you'll be #1, but i have an algorithm that will automatically determine that once I update the values), ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . Thanks for adding to your faucet and visiting site. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
