Cross-posting from the main thread: As promised earlier, here are the data file dumps of all the CK-related data I have gathered (they are in the R's efficient data saving format .RData and then zipped together): Item ownership (separate .RData files for each fetch):https://www.dropbox.com/s/0m0t6a14wvxioca/CKitemownership_2017-05-13.zip?dl=0Item bids (one big .RData with a time stamp column):https://www.dropbox.com/s/tu7n316hoz5ezns/CKbids_2017-05-13.zip?dl=0Lot bids (separate .RData files for each fetch):https://www.dropbox.com/s/gs2a5wu1dqm35qy/CKlots_2017-05-14.zip?dl=0If somebody gets serious with the data files the .RData files can be easily transformed into e.g. .csv-files, but for example in the item ownership matrix current implementation is much more effocient as it conserves the data in a so-called sparse matrix form; e.g. since most of the entries on a rows = items, columns = char ids are 0, instead of having loads of 0s it only saves non-zero entries with their {x,y} coordinates; a .csv file would have lots of empty space if the # items owned matrix would be saved as-is. I will keep them on my Dropfox for an undefined amount of time, for a month at least; after that it has to be separately requested from me if somebody comes back to it.

Howling eerie greetings from beyond the grave of oblivion, an insomniac night that might as well be used for something useful: I have fully disclosed here the code for two Crypto Kingdom tools written in the R language (R Shiny is an R extension for app building that uses JavaScript as an interim layer, R is available for free at www.R-project.org): - CKJester, a market analysis tool that comes in two parts; a) An R Shiny web GUI for using the market analysis tool, b) An API-pipeline that fetches and parses all the data into suitable .RData database for the GUI to use - CKGamble, aka. Jovial Jester, the gaming platform for which a Black Jack implementation exists CKJester R Shiny interface:https://bitbucket.org/tlaajala/ckjester-shinyCKJester API pipeline:https://bitbucket.org/tlaajala/ckjester-pipelineCKGamble:https://bitbucket.org/tlaajala/ckgambleAll above are BitBucket Git repos. Feel free to migrate to Github or such, I just always found Atlassian's Sourcetree a rather neat piece of software and since they merge together seamlessly, I happened to use BitBucket instead of Github. Partially working examples of the R Shiny apps: CKJester in shinyapps.io; will not plot images as the database grew too large and the free license runs out of memory; the interface can still be run locally without problems - see example local deployment in the depo: https://jester.shinyapps.io/Shiny/CKGamble in shinyapps.io; will not function except in "test" Guest-mode, due to the fact that it would need to be connected to an Admin-level character and a Casino that handles the M-transactions; Syksy account is no longer admin and Jester account has no M to handle transactions, thus I have indicated multiple fields with '<INSERT HERE>' which would require attention if actual bets ought to be transacted: https://jester.shinyapps.io/jovial/Please note that both above implementations are currently running on my own free test license of www.shinyapps.io, which is a service offered for efficient deployment & upkeep of web apps built with R Shiny. However, the free license has severe limitations, and one mght want to consider putting up their own R Shiny dedicated server (we e.g. have one at my university where I've made analysis tools), to make efficient use of the code (memory limitations and multiple concurrent processes have shown to be an issue in shinyapps.io free service). Please also note that some older commits may contain expired tokens or obsolete account passwords and such. It's not worth your time trying to exploit those, as all of them were for this purpose only and are not in use anymore here or anywhere elsewhere. All my above code is shared with the MIT license (i.e. you're free to do whatever you wish with it, but I am not liable for any misuse or upkeep of it etc; given "as-is"): https://opensource.org/licenses/MITMy code is fully available to any Crypto Kingdom fork that wishes to use it, all are equally welcome on my behalf to make use of the above code that I've made for free over the years/months. I hope these might one day be useful to the old main or any of the forks without reservations. I can also send loads of CK API-data for the interested: 2 years worth of parsed (.RData) bids of buy/sell, 1 year full of item ownership matrix (rows=items, columns=characters) and 1 year full of lot bids fetched from the www.cryptokingdom.me CK branch API. Should anybody be interested in these, please contact me through email or a private BCT message. Best wishes, Syksy aka. Daniel

Dear all, I will be leaving Crypto Kingdom. Some practical announcements: - I am happy to announce that the Loafiest Loaf around, Marquess_Loaf, will be taking control of all of my CK accounts (including the companies, County, and the whole Syyskuu family). I could not have wished for a better legacy, given the circumstances. Marquess Loaf will ultimately decide how assets belonging to Syksy or the companies will now be dealt with as he owns them, but I am ready to be there to arrange things on a practical level during the transition.
- My irssi screen will remain open in freenode, so if you have unfinished business or concerns do a "/query Syksy". I will keep it on for as long as I deem necessary to ensure there would be no loose ends. I'm estimating that roughly a week could be a feasible timeframe for this.
- Please remove the "433739 13,400 Syksy (138) 4/21/2017 8:33:00 3E6zpE5aT4s6J8NPvdBhHVwAV4PsksWMoV 16,616.00 30.016 136:26:01 29.916 13.4" entry from the B1 google doc listing. I no longer wish for the BTC transaction, nor the interest. Let this particular row be resolved and discarded in-game as well.
- Loaf will ultimately decide the fate of my R source code(s) as well as all data I've gathered, but I am myself ready to release to public domain the Jovial Jester, the Jester Corp app for data analysis, as well as ~2 years of item buy/sell offer data, ~1 year of item ownership data, as well as ~1 year of lot bid info. The fetch frequencies have varied between 2 hours to 24 hours, with a median of around 12 hours for items if I recall right (fetching frequency was adjusted if something interesting was happening in the markets). If there are any additional requests I'll likely provide the requested content, if I just am capable.
- The Syksy nickname in IRC will still belong to me for the time being, as well as this BCT account, but I am assuming that this will quickly become obsolete as I've never contributed to any other threads than CK ones. I also do not think I will remain in freenode, so if you are approached by somebody using my nickname with a suspicious proposition you may wish to carefully examine it.
To all Crypto Kingdomians, live long and prosper! May the kingdom rise from the ashes like a resurrected phoenix purified and purged through blazing flames. To Risto, thank you for all the work you've put into CK and other projects over the years. I wish you all the best, and a successful yet exciting and fulfilling future. It's been a priviledge to meet you all, and I would like to express my humblest gratitude for all the shared moments in-game and relevant messaging platforms. All journeys have a beginning and an end, but there are many forks along the way. Perhaps our paths will cross once again. Goodbye, Syksy aka. Daniel

- - I think I deserve a fair exit after everything I did for CK. - -
I believe sammy007 and his expertise is the main or sole reason why the database was recovered with integrity so well and so quick after the recent inconvenient corruption, so I personally vouch for this statement. Others with technical expertise that followed slack during this occurrence, I believe, have concordant opinions. I agree that sammy007 deserves enormous respect. In fact I personally gave him a tip after he helped recover the database. However, I believe that all of those who made withdrawals should be paid according to the terms of the offer that was voluntarily made and voluntarily accepted, and this should be done without any further unreasonable delays. This will not only avoid this shitshow continuing to get worse but will minimize the continuing increase in the interest cost. Playing games and stalling and delaying and offering discounts, and using refusal to promptly pay debts owed on depository shares to coerce people into accepting lesser amounts, is only making matters worse. Just pay and get it over with. I do agree whole-heartedly, people in the dark are now kind enough (=worried enough) to give up on promises they were given. An another issue I observed in the google doc kindly compiled by Jacket - before the interests became an obvious issue - was that some bigger guns (binaryFate and Fluffypony if I recall right) had a VIP-line and were paid for their B1 gives while there were earlier withdrawals pending. This no longer shows in Jacket's google doc since it's been re-sorted, but the withdrawals weren't progressing in the normal descending time-from-deposit order even before people started giving up interests to get to the (now obvious) VIP-line. If above aims are fundamental principles to be honored (=trust), I don't think it's ok to favor people who have a name in crypto, while the peasants eat dirt for not being big in crypto.

In the name of Universe, MINDFUCK=5 for exactly the amount of time required until Voice receives me and other dignitaries pay Attention, grading their progress by reading the following straight-face as long as they CAN, and checking the result from the correspondence table posted:v----------Start reading from here----------v- - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IS0vNCOeu94Timestamped:Intro (time = 1s): https://youtu.be/IS0vNCOeu94?t=1Poem (30x times): https://youtu.be/IS0vNCOeu94?t=56Proof of fairness and intro to Listen to Music: https://youtu.be/IS0vNCOeu94?t=1695Better Off Dead by Anathema (cover of Bad Religion): https://youtu.be/IS0vNCOeu94?t=1731My personal message to Risto: https://youtu.be/IS0vNCOeu94?t=1998I consumed 100x CAN for this video as you required CAN to be involved. In real life, I am not under influence of cannabis or mushrooms or any such, but believe me I have had my share of experiences of such substances in life. I do not intend to do any of them currently or in the future for I care about those around me. This does not mean that cannabis couldn't help somebody else in their life in an excellent way, I am mostly pro-legalization myself. But still, line can be thin. I've seen and experienced enough. I've seen bleeding hands slit to provide substance to paint a canvas as a celebration to Ayahuasca. I've seen people drift to darkness, and who never came back. I've seen my eyes filled with ants in the middle of the night, trying to escape them but I was burning inside so bad I couldn't sleep for 3 days. I've seen the worry in eyes of my loved ones when I could just stare blankly at them, unable to break the glass dome. I took the liberty to attach a proof intro/outro, as well as personal message to rpietila. To be honest, I don't really give a fuck if this warrants 10bil M or not. Just wake up, give up substances and/or activities you're currently doing and begin a healing process.EDIT: FYI, I have received a copyright infringement claim of my video, so it might be taken down soon.

(10 existing, 4 CKG each) Congratulations all! The DIP shop is now open. (Suggestions open for specialized items; e.g. related to Combined Arms developed by Gustav Adolph)
There were questions whether DIP would be locked to characters (similar to CUL). This was the original idea, but I am open for suggestions should a good mechanic be proposed. Naturally the converted items can traded in the Agora market. For DIP conversions, please /query me in IRC or send a list of items you wish to purchase through BCT private message. It is still possible to open new possibilities to the shop. Otherwise this shop will remain open roughly for a week and then DIP will remain permanently in their respective characters, and may usable during the next Diplomacy-related event. Kind regards, Prince Syksy Syyskuu of Petrichor

I have read the punishment log through-outly, and I strived to understand content of it. However, I fail to find the hidden wisdom there-in to improve myself. I do not wish for a roman numeric ticket utilizable in Tallinn or to experiment more with CAN/MUS or similar substances than I already have. I shall remain approximately in my current, rather static vegetable state.

For those that might've missed it, Grizzly Bear also gave out 20k Markka per S-GB dividend yesterday to our loyal shareholders (total 1000 shares, thus 20mil M handed out) The first batch of BEER of the new age was sold and we're now in the process of waiting for the next one.

I may miss by a mile, but I'll give it my shot. At the rest of this message I have also collected all hints/quotes that I considered worthy enough to list (there were additional sources too, but some were hard to present). The parts that are within quotes are original text posted by rpietila, while the follow-up without quotes is my own comment or flow of thought. (Edited out)So here goes, Syksy's answer:
a b c d e f C: a+ b+ c+ d+ e- f- D: a- b- c- d- e- f+ E: a- b- c- d- e+ f- Z: a+ b+ c+ d+ e+ f+
And my attempt at rationalizing the solution (long text, beware); still, if I miss by a mile, I hope some part of my solution helps somebody else to find the correct solution I'd be interested hearing others' rationale, if it's not just random guessing or slightly permutating other people's answers. We all get only a single shot anyway, so it'd be interesting if any of the previous answerers had some good info that I missed. EDIT: On a second thought it's probably better I don't post the flow Fun fact of the permutation-statistics (floWS was saying maybe we ought to wait to see which answers could be blocked out; I'd advice not to do so becaaaause...): Fun fact: The number of different possible solutions; a single column can be permutated in 6 ways, since it was announced that each trait has 2 people (and we assume that this doesn't affect the possibility of existence for solutions of other columns): 1 2 3 4 5 6 + + + - - - + - - + + - - + - + - + - - + - + +
Since each of the columns has 6 possible solutions and we have 6 traits, the total number of combinations is 6^6 = 46656 Given the fact there is a very limited amount of people responding to the question in a very informative way, and some may be just random with a chance of 1/(6^6) = 0.00002143347 ~ 0.0021% chance to hit the correct answer, waiting for more "guesses" and then blocking out false answers based on others' input is not a very viable strategy :) It's clear that the correct solution ought to be manually curated, deduced and then solved. Correlation between columns is probably a key, or getting a person straight in the beginning correct. E.g. if I'm correct about Z, that would leave the solution space to compose of (+/- are interchangeable, just replace - with what was Z's trait): + + - + - + - + + Leading to 3^6 = 729 possible solutions.
I made my flow of thought here public, so maybe if you find error(s) in my ways you have a higher chance of hitting the bull's eye. I was supposed to be in bed 3+ hours ago but I got hooked

Dear all,Some of you might remember that I held the first-ever player-driven (not by GM) auction for gold coins (and other collectibles) around 1 and half year(s) ago: Dear fellow scholars, eager merchants, aspiring collectors, honorable nobles, and Your Majesty,
I hereby wish to declare the first
Syksy's Antiquities and Fascinating Coins Auction
or in short, SAFCA I.
- -
Now is time to declare the second SAFCA, that is:~~~ Syksy's Antiquities and Fascinating Coins Auction II ~~~ This set contains each single unique gold coin (GOC) from time range 1400 to 1614, and some multiples and also additional coins after this time interval. A significant amount of time, CK history and effort has gone into collecting this beauty. It's an excellent collector's starter packet (makes you already one of the most prominent collectors of today) or can really help supplement an established collector e.g. in cornering. ~~~ Diplomacy in Sweden -wrapup ~~~
I am currently going through the closed envelopes that were sent to me. However, I'd like to still request any modifications to the opening DIP-shop, that will be available post-competition as soon as I compute each competitor's DIP gain. The event was Swedish themed, and I am open-minded to even individualized requests (such as weapons, typical decorative things of that Swedish era - sorry no Ikea meatballs for anybody). This will be the last chance to suggest such changes to the DIP-shop, otherwise it will be as follows: Preliminary DIP-shop (Notice that same purchase is available multiple times): --- 1 DIP -> 1x BRE 10 DIP -> 1x KMT 100 DIP -> 20x KMT 100 DIP -> 1x H3 1000 DIP -> JWL-SS: Ring Bearing the Sign of the Lion from the North (yearly dividend of 1 CUL?) 1000 DIP -> 1x H5 10000 DIP -> JWL-GA: Recognition by Gustaf Adolph himself (can be a necklace, ring, document, etc; yearly dividend of 20 CUL?) 10000 DIP -> 1x H7 ---
EDIT1: 1 DIP -> 1x BRE added; an ode to Knäckebröd! Notice that this post will be post hoc edited to i) reveal the envelopes' contents; ii) reveal the final DIP gains; iii) post the DIP-shop, which will be then available for DIP-owners. I will still retain the right to adjust DIP-shop, according to my fairest judgment. I retain this right just in case so I don't crash the value of any particular important item if I've miscalculated or misestimated the effect of some shop item. I feel this is important backup measure to make sure there is no out-of-proportion market fluctuations, just in case.

1666: The Medicine of Life and the Ascension of Zenon the Magus
Just a note, my belly took in one for the sake of Science And in other news, the Diplomacy of Sweden envelopes have all been received and thus the envelope phase is closed!Unfortunately I'm right now swamped in chores, so I'll try to compute all the DIS as soon as possible. Sorry but it might take a few days before announcing the results :/

Some general pointers about the Diplomacy in Sweden subgame:- The game will end between Tuesday-Wednesday midnight, Finnish time (GMT+2). That would be approx. 1d 9h 40min from this post. - Please note that the reward DIP will be untradeable! (similar to CUL) - The envelopes, once opened, will be public. In hindsight, I should've made it so that only the outcome is public, but since I gave this impression we will stick to it. So we will see all the names of the senders and receivers, as well as the amount sent. - You are able to re-send an envelope all the way until the deadline. So if you have already sent me one, you can replace it with a newer, better thought-out one. - My apologies if I tried to intervene in the game discussion too much, I will try to not direct people into any direction. All game-related comments made by me have been not substantiated by any facts or analyses so far. - I will also post my own analyses of the challenge, some of which I did couple days ago, and I will try to finish them by the end-timer. It ought to be interesting to see how the game played out, how it could've deviated, etc I retain the right to give out additional prizes to people who have performed exceptionally in some form in the game. - I have now received over half of the envelopes. If all the players deliver the envelopes, we can end the game at that point before the deadline. If you do not want this to happen, please message me here or in IRC - otherwise I assume I have everybody's consensus to wrap up the game earlier of possible. (I might edit this post if further questions arise.)

Dear all, as Crypto Kingdom is obviously growing very fast and has introduced multiple new ways to interact with the crypto markets (in-game Markka, XMR, BTC, and even real-life €), I would like to return to couple potential security/usability issues that I mentioned when we did a poll of " what has to be done before CK is ready to be published" around half a year ago (can't find the Google spreadsheet anymore though): - Extensive stress testing of the server and the current implementation - Possibly paid hacking attempts and/or security extension services Sadly, I am not an expert in this IT-field. But I can see various scenarios where these will be highly relevant; for example now that we have multiple very volatile currencies introduced (both XMR and BTC), a DDos attack or such can hinder parts of people from reacting to markets (such as Poloniex) and reduces trust in CK as an alternative platform for conducting trades. Furthermore, we cannot rely on mere SQL-backups or such for recovery in case of hacking, as I presume such attacks would not be direct and may occur over a long period of time e.g. through SQL-injections. And naturally, we ought to guarantee that there is zero (or arbitrarily low) risk of ever leaking out a) personal information, e.g. emails (which are optional to provide for account recovery) or b) account information such as account name / passwords, from the data running through the current client. Here is a short brief of the discussion in IRC, which I hoped to post before it gets lost in the backlog of the channel: 20:45 < Syksy> I concur with sammy007 in regards to possible security/burden issues, that should be addressed ASAP if the game is now going to "wider-audience"; I proposed wide stress-testing and a "paid hacking expert" testing in the poll long time ago on what should be done before CK was "ready" 20:46 < Syksy> I feel they are extremely important - especially given that we need to maintain extreme confidence on the platform itself since it deals with crypto currencies and not just in-game tokens, even if the cryptos are in depositories 20:47 * Marquess_Loaf seconds Syksy 's motion :D 20:49 < tombot> sounds good, better to be safe than sorry 20:49 < Syksy> stress testing is also closely connected to how confident we can be on the platform - as XMR and BTC can be extremely fast in their trading, CK has to be as fast to reflect those markets 20:50 < Syksy> sadly I am not a security or an expert in the field, perhaps sammy007 has some practical things that could be proposed? 20:50 * Syksy disappears into the mist again 20:51 < Syksy> security expert or otherwise in the field*
to which sammy007 (and others) contributed: 22:26 < sammy007> Syksy I proposed already: move from DO to online.net with paid hw antiddos, add recaptcha shit to prevent autoregs also email confirmation, can use mailgun. Easy steps to prevent a lot of bad things. DO will nullroute game servers if there is a simble synflood from kiddies. 22:27 < sammy007> DO is a piece of crap, expensive and not efficient only suitable for hipsters to test their nodejs crap there from starbucks 22:27 < luigi1111> recaptcha is really easy too 22:27 < sammy007> you can pick a dedicated enterprise grade HW for this price in another DC with built in antiddos 22:30 < sammy007> I am running 4 core 8t xeon with 96 RAM for 55 EUR/m with antiddos protection. No estimate the same on digitalocean lol 22:31 < saddam> is that why the site is slow? 22:31 < sammy007> and there is also floating IPs so you can deploy database on 1 server and run 2 frontends in case one goes down another will work 22:31 < saddam> i always just assumed it was some really bad db queries 22:31 < sammy007> yeah I wonder if there are some indices exist 22:32 < sammy007> DO is not suitable for production setup, only for playing
Captcha and such are easy to setup, and I believe we today encountered the issue of multiple registrations for CAN registration prizes for the first time. While he was kind enough to cease this activity (and CAN incentive was reduced), I believe we cannot presume such cases in the future could also be handled just by contacting the person. The rest of the discussion goes much over my head, and relate to preventive measures I believe (setup to prevent synflood as an example of ddos etc). I'd like to propose that if there is a capable & trustworthy person within the current CK-community, then he/she to be appointed to lead this development, hopefully with incentives. If not, I'd suggest we seek for external assistance with this matter. In my opinion this is just as important as developing new features, and I believe it could be done in co-operation with PJ without leeching work hours from him.
