41  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: ASIC Miners - The Next Great Bitcoin Vulnerability? on: April 14, 2013, 12:13:47 PM
As long as there is diversity and decentralized people mining, exactly what the post before me said, there should be no issue with network security.
42  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: avl asic on: April 12, 2013, 06:18:36 PM
I don't see any point that you're making, unless this post was just to declare your apathy and frustration (not sure why though).
43  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Was it a mistake to purchase Avalon batch #3? on: April 11, 2013, 12:25:24 AM
It really comes down to the fact that no one can answer this question.  There are simply too many variables, from a massive difficulty rise, to even the full collapse of BTC before that ROI time.  At this point just take a step back, deep breath and wait for some updates, nothing anyone is going to say here will lead you to the closure you are looking for.
44  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: avalon sold nearly 40k $ on: April 11, 2013, 12:22:39 AM
I feel like this must be violating some eBay protocol somewhere, but I guess that never really stopped anyone before..
45  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Single BFL 5 GH/s ASIC worth it? on: April 11, 2013, 12:21:05 AM
You will be order ~#40,000 and your tiny unit will be the lowest of the low priority...  This doesn't seem to stop many people though...  So what do I know.
46  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 2 Avalons on a private pool on: April 11, 2013, 12:19:12 AM
Thanks for the update and congrats on your ASICs, have you run into any significant problems with set-up/firmware or have they been relatively straightforward?  How solid is your internet connection and do they require restarts/maintenance regularly?
47  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASIC Owners (or anyone with lots of FPGA): Cashing out BTC on: April 11, 2013, 12:16:49 AM
That tor2web site looks so shady... Has anyone actually done work with them yet?
48  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASIC Status Thread on: April 11, 2013, 12:13:05 AM
As much as I'd like to believe BFL's claims (for network security purposes).  I still cannot say I am convinced they have a working product yet.  That picture and video isn't enough to convince me.
49  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Get a job at BFL!! on: April 11, 2013, 12:10:46 AM
I can't find where it says "must have access to an Avalon in China" but man, that would indeed be a sign of defeat... and I like it!
50  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASIC Status Thread on: April 11, 2013, 12:08:43 AM
ITT: Everyone except Avalon has not proven the ability to produce ASICs.
51  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mini rig and connectivity issue on: April 11, 2013, 12:06:04 AM
He just told you how that is not possible.  It needs to be close to a multiple of 25 because he has to earn and entire block on his own to earn anything significant.  He is probably not telling you the truth, the whole truth, and certainly something other than the truth.

Sounds legit.  Roll Eyes

Good work, the amount of effort some people put into their scams is disheartening at best.
54  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bfl a scam? on: April 04, 2013, 04:38:02 AM
For the sake of network security I'm hoping it is not a scam, but what you really need to be considering is your place in line when these units start to ship.  Your order will most likely be in the tens of thousands, and I am predicting many hardware revamps and upgrades before all orders are filled which will likely cause a delay of some degree.  The low hanging fruit has been picked, and if you are looking for a quick way to earn BTC and exchange them for fiat, there is much you need to consider.
55  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Have any Canadians received their batch #1 Avalons? on: April 04, 2013, 04:17:54 AM
I wonder if there is some sort of issue with Canadian customs versus US and other countries.  I am wondering about the turnout in South American countries and Eastern Europe as well.  Hope you receive your units in a timely manner, will be following your posts.

I can tell English is not your first language, but thank you very much for posting your experience, it was easy to understand what you were saying. I hope my Avalon units will arrive soon too, happy mining and good luck!

Edit: Corrected, thanks luffy.

Great story!  Grin  Won't be busting out the popcorn yet tho, really hope you recover them.
58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Down to 30 USD? on: April 04, 2013, 02:46:56 AM
I don't see it going below 90 again for a long time to be honest, if ever.  The small bubbles that I have seen have corrected themselves after ~20% spikes in the positive or negative direction.  We shall see though, $30 would provide a massive buying opportunity, and to be honest, with a Mt Gox queue of over 9000 and rising, I don't see demand falling significantly below supply.
59  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Offering PayPal for Bitcoin? You're likely to be labeled a scammer - Read why on: April 04, 2013, 02:43:56 AM
The way that I see it is the next big gold rush in the BTC economy is no longer to directly acquire coins or mine them, but to create useful, quick, and transparent services that will facilitate these transactions.  I am very excited to see what is to come about the current race to create the first BTC credit card Grin
60  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: April 04, 2013, 02:38:31 AM
Hello, I am StringTheory and have been investing and working within the Bitcoin community for over 2 and a half years and am now deciding to become active and get involved on the forums.  I am based out of the Pacific Northwest, and have co-founded the companies newbitmining.com and bit4cash.com which are currently inactive due to the present BTC economic state.  I am the business partner of Dalkore, and we are in the process of starting some important services and making our claim in the community.  I have experience running GPU farms and am currently awaiting becoming a part of the ASIC mining market.  I expect big things from myself and the community and I am very excited, enthusiastic, and happy about the future.

Can't wait to get to know all of you better.  Thanks for reading.
