41  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: butterfly labs is definitely mining with those ASICs at the moment on: September 18, 2012, 08:49:02 PM
there could be a testing phase in a real world situation going on here.
if they do make the money back on the hardware that means they
can order more parts to make more mining equipment.

self replenishment.

So we have all talked about from what this thing might look like, to how much power we think it will consume

The question is what steps are you planning to take when you finally get that tracking number?

Will the preparation efforts be intensified now that its going to be ASIC?

sounds good to me.

Right, and what if that is just a little off lets say by about 40%?
What if next-gen fpgas happen to beat them?

custom or hard copy.. your trying hard to break down the difference between say a turbo and a supercharger..
but come on 40% off., when you have nothing to base this on is really going on speculation.

we can sit here all day and say it might be 50% off the target but right now everyone here
is waiting on 40 Ghash's.. i don't care if its full custom .. hard copy or donuts with a USB cables sticking out of them
40 ghash it is until you come with actual evidence we can go at this till the earth freeze's over.

45  Other / Off-topic / Shipping BFL labs greatest weakness? on: September 03, 2012, 04:35:47 AM
Shipping BFL labs greatest weakness?

I see one big problem with BFL business model., when it takes 8 weeks to ship your product your leaving
a big gap for competition., right now they are their biggest enemy.
Even the way apple does their business they do very large shipping orders
and even when it's sold out high demand of shipping goes into place.

If BFL cant get their shipping production to 2-4 weeks i see this hurting them in the long run.
46  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: [POLL] Will BFL deliver a Bitforce SC ASIC by October 31, 2012 on: September 02, 2012, 09:14:26 PM
This world we are all in is riddled with scams and promise's ., i trade a lot in the stock market and the same rational decisions used to pick out anything i'm investing any money has been used here. first of all any company that used paypal for a form of a payment knows
that if the wall falls through on them paypal will freeze there bank accounts faster then you can say "ASIC"

BFL labs is not new making their product., they have produced functional equipment that is already out and
producing mining capability.. also if you take consideration a VC.

Working with a VC, they are trying to make as much money possible., that's why they have upgrade programs
and are seeking there craft.

Do i think it will come by oct 31.. i hope so

but my answer is no., It still takes a very logistical time for this product to be shipped in 8 weeks.

47  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL ASIC DESIGN? on: August 30, 2012, 11:10:17 PM
Well since butterfly does not post much news at all., instead of kicking rocks all day we might speculate a bit on the design
so much money going into this it wont hurt to imagine.

48  Other / Off-topic / BFL ASIC DESIGN? on: August 30, 2012, 10:53:25 PM
Anyone have any idea what the new BFL ASIC device's will look like?
49  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [Poll]Will you be switching to ASIC? on: August 29, 2012, 12:01:02 AM
I think there's a lot of angle's here but this is the evolution of bitcoins.
ACIS were not made specifically for bit coins
they existed before., bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme
so even if the profit so low for GPU when ASIC drops
it depends on the person if they want to upgrade.

Also one big thing butterfly labs is an american company
and this product at 1333.00 and 30g's we aren't talking cheap
they are helt over a standard and at 6000+ order i don't
think they plan on disappointing they have come through
with there mini rig's in the past., so the logical thing if
your going to keep mining is to go in with ASIC
50  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: how to invest in ASIC on: August 28, 2012, 06:03:54 PM
Same as in the stock world you have bullish and bearish opinion's
I've seen order numbers already into the 6000+
and they are reaching out to asia for faster development
before they picked up to go and get on AISC boat they
reached out to an investor to give them more capital
these guys are already rolling in the cash. nov to dec thats when
i see big production coming.
