41  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Cooling Mining Rigs - AC Installed, Fans On each Rig... What Next? on: February 04, 2014, 09:19:34 PM
Finally managed to add an industrial extractor fan, this made a massive difference and has bought our temperatures under control.

Can even feel the aircon working now Wink

43  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: temp-cutoff - not working? on: January 31, 2014, 06:03:23 PM
OK, so I have resolved that issue, I had set "auto-gpu" : 1 instead of "auto-gpu" : true
However, once CGminer cut's off a card and it drops below the target temp, CGminer doesn't seem to restart the card... any ideas?
44  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / temp-cutoff - not working? on: January 31, 2014, 05:43:54 PM
After having a couple of overheating issues, I have noticed that my cards dont seem to be cutting on when they get to the set temp..?

which is currently set as: "temp-cutoff" : "86",

Any idea, why this would not be kicking in?

I have thought about getting a second aircon unit, however unsure of that will help matters much...
I can also bring in cool air, however trying to get the solution right now so we dont panic in summer Wink

its a headache for sure!
46  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Cooling Mining Rigs - AC Installed, Fans On each Rig... What Next? on: January 31, 2014, 12:13:43 PM
I currently have 5x 5 Card (Asus R9 280X) Mining Rigs Running & have parts to build another 5.
However Temps are creeping up and I'm trying to put something in now that will also work in the summer... so sucking in cold air is not going to cut it.

I had a 7.5kw Aircon unit installed, I have 18" Typhoon fans behind each rig.
The cards are running between 78-80c currently.

Trying to think of ways currently to optimize the layout of the rigs or what we need to do to improve the cooling...

1. Move the aircon to one end of the room, with fans sucking the air from the aircon, through the rigs and have an exhaust fan at the other end of the room to exhaust the hot air.
2. Keep the aircon where it is & change the layout / design of the rigs...
3. Add another aircon unit, however with it this adds more initial and running costs.
4. Other?

Any help would be much appreciated! (Litecoins or Doge's on offer to someone that can come up with a viable solution that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg!)

First off, I would say well done for developing such a site on your own.
However I think you need to reconsider what you are asking from an investor and what you are willing to give back in return.

I'm not saying this to deter investors away as any investor willing to put in close to £40K worth of bitcoins is just not going to risk such as investment for so little return.

You state that your currently making 10+ Bitcoin per month profit. lets just round figures off and say: £500 per bitcoin = £5,000 a month profit.

So you want 75 Bitcoin x £500 = £37,500 for 10%?

At the current rate of income it would take almost 6 1/2 years just to break even.
Your also valuing your site at 750 Bitcoin, £375,000...

I have purchased and sold many websites in my time and the general rule of thumb to buy / sell a website is 12-18 months x revenue.

£90,000 = 180 BTC (100% Purchase Price)
£9,000 = 18 BTC (10% Purchase Price

At the above figures, you may just find someone looking to invest, however if your making 10 BTC a month, do you really need an investor?
Why not just spend some of your profit in the right places for advertising to help grow the site?

Again please don't take my post as negative, I'm just trying to give you a better insight of figures to put things into perspective, no one is going to wait that long for a return on investment.

Deposit:
You are not legally allowed to partially refund a deposit for a pre-order product.

Plus adding in a handling fee of £70.. Really?

Warranty:
You have to legally supply products with a minimum of 12 months warranty in the UK.

Related to this your product has to be CE Approved.

Domain Registration:
Why is the domain registrant identity masked?, your company details should be an open book!

Previously dissolved company:
CHESHIRE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED

What is your relationship to this company as based on your Companies House details this company was your last business.

Based on all of the above, you have a long way to go in business and coming here asking for pre-orders when you do not even have the legal side of things handled is just bad business.

I would happily invest in multiple Scrypt ASIC but I don't think you will meet you Q2, Q3 2014 deadline with what you are looking to achieve.

Prove me wrong..

Over the past couple of months I have been working with jewelry manufacturers to create our own casting machinery to create our own physical bitcoins.

Yesterday we received the casting tool & created our first prototype bitcoin in aluminum.

We are now working towards creating versions in Silver & Gold (9ct / 18ct & 24ct variant's will be available)

The finished coins will also be Assay stamped & certified.

(The images are not great as taken with my phone, but will take better photo's shortly.)

Basing my experience & knowledge of bitcoin on my post count....? lol.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The So Called Bitcoin 'Bubble' on: April 07, 2013, 10:49:07 AM
I have been into bitcoin for sometime now & have successfully turned a little into a lot.

I also have a few things in development for bitcoin as I believe it has a long term future as a mainstream payment option among other things as it advances.

In recent weeks due to the surge in price of bitcoin the media have been focusing on 1 thing and that's when the bubble will burst, when will the price of bitcoin fall to its knees once again?

Although some media coverage has been good for bitcoin, this is the one story they are all waiting for...

As a community we can all work together and show them this is not going to happen, (Don't Panic Sell!) Wink
Or those of your hording thousands.... Don't manipulate the price!

With recent events surrounding instawallet, this has shown that bitcoin is now stronger than ever as previously an event like this will drop the price of bitcoin.

I truly believe that bitcoins price will continue to increase, where will it stop? I don't have that answer.
But I do know that there is no reason for it to drop out.

If the Bubble was to burst, the media would get there story and bitcoin would then maybe never become mainstream as the average joe would always link bitcoin with that event.

Bitcoin is fast losing its reputation as a hackers currency or illegal drugs payment method & is becoming a payment option for legit business.

We need to carry on this trend!
