41  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Just got scammed out of 5BTC on: October 08, 2016, 11:55:33 PM
Sorry for your loss, man.  Not that I don't buy your story, but you have to fill out the correct scam accusation form, which has already been suggested.  As they say, dox or it didn't happen.  People on this forum are pretty skeptical about things like this.  And it happens far too often for anyone's comfort.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Rising and ICOs Falling Away on: October 08, 2016, 11:02:23 PM
Well seeing as how most of the altcoins shouldn't exist in the first place, I'd tend to agree with you.  The problem is that in the short term, anything could happen.  In the long term, the altcoins are pretty much dead meat.  In my opinion.  But bitcoin will survive this and we'll probably see that ATH broken within a year.  My prediction is as good as anyone else's.  lol
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After cold war is it bitcoin war? on: October 08, 2016, 09:46:28 PM
No way man, this is something old and it's not about Bitcoin, it's all about hacker activity and so on... It happens since the cold war. It happens every minute and Bitcoin is a sand grain in this desert. It's just because it involves money and some ordinary angry between rebels in many rival areas, like the one cited. Nothing about war in the strict meaning of the term.

Yeah, hacker doings, nationalistic pride/delusions, politics, etc.  Been going on since man had flippers and flopped out of the sea, will be going on until the sun burns itself out.  My take on it is that there's no bad publicity for bitcoin, whether it's from the dark markets, terrorism, whatever, because bitcoin isn't doing anything wrong in and of itself.  It's the idiots who are using it who are doing wrong.  And in the press reports, bitcoin gets a free plug.
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned? on: October 08, 2016, 09:02:57 PM
Dark markets would still use bitcoin and other currencies,  so none of them would die off.  The price might take a beating though. Can't kill a good idea, so this isn't something I seriously worry about.
45  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling vs Real Gambling on: October 08, 2016, 03:38:24 AM
That kinda sucks, but gambling addiction can be brutal, so it might be a blessing.  Sort of.  You see how bad people get strung out on betting on this forum, and how easy it is to lose everything.  It's the same damn thing with real life gambling, only the house pays for the drinks and you get some human interaction thrown in for good measure.  That could be a good thing or bad thing.  Personally, I'd like to see government keep their hands off of the people's money and their hands off of online and real life casinos.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: European Drug Report: Dark Net Rising in Use, Making Drugs Safer on: October 08, 2016, 03:35:55 AM
Interesting but why are so many people dying lately from drug use linked to the street level?
Dealers mixing fentanyl into all drugs seems to be lighting up the death toll. Have read the reasons for this but not sure I buy the Cartels finding this to be a easier game than cocaine fields. Think it points more towards China but the reason is some what unknown.

On the one hand the internet has made it easier but it also makes one bad person on one of these sites with a screw loose to bring the death toll up. Not every customer knows how to check their drugs or even bothers.

Yeah, it's scary in the U.S. with all the Fentanyl around.  There are a lot of overdoses happening, and the word on the street is that it's coming from China.  Who knows if that's actually true, but this should not reflect poorly on bitcoin.  People have always used government currency to purchase drugs and everything else.  The dark markets have just made it a lot easier than finding a drug dealer on the corner.  Crazy.
47  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a 6$ loan on: October 08, 2016, 03:29:10 AM
Lionidas has given me the loan for both my serve account and Netflix account. This loan will be repaid 80% interest in 48hrs by 9pm eastern time. Thanks Lionidas!!
Loan is due an hour and 20 minutes ago.
Since user has not logged in yet I will wait until morning to see what he has to say and if he pays.

Time to pay the piper. This is the second one that has not paid on time.
I think this is becoming a habit to them. Angry
Lionidas, you are way too trusting of people here.  We'll see if he actually pays up, but you know this happens more often than not, and especially with the problem gambling users on this forum.  There's a lot of them.  It's just way too easy to put up bad collateral and then walk away from the loan.  Be careful.
48  Economy / Digital goods / Re: How Much an Hero Member account worth with bitmixer campaign? on: October 08, 2016, 03:25:40 AM
I do hate to see accounts up for sale, because it seems that so rarely are they purchased by upstanding members who want to contribute to the forum.  They're people who just post to get paid, and that adds zero to the community.  It also instills a false sense of trust/seniority.  My suggestion is to find another way to get $ when in need.  But whatever, OP would be in good company selling a hero account.  There are so many of them nowadays.
49  Other / Off-topic / Re: When and why did you start using Bitcoin? on: October 08, 2016, 12:49:16 AM
Twas before I created an account here, sometime in 2015.  I don't actively buy or sell things for bitcoin, nor do I earn money in bitcoin.  I just HODL.  I'm not exactly an early adopter, but perhaps in 20 years we'll all be considered that.
50  Economy / Lending / Re: $2 loan in Bitcoin. on: October 02, 2016, 10:00:37 PM
These aren't spammers, nor am I.  Anyone would be crazy to lend to you without collateral.   And 100% interest?  Yeah right.
51  Economy / Reputation / Re: Defcon23 is an unstable individual who threatens people with personal info. on: October 02, 2016, 02:39:46 AM
Duly noted,  will keep this in mind though I've not had any dealings with him yet.  That sort of behavior is unfortunately very common around these parts
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoin would you buy to invest a small amount of money? on: October 02, 2016, 01:00:33 AM
I say stay away from the 'low value' coins because they're crappy for the most part.  If you're going to buy any alts, buy the brand name ones, like doge or dash or litecoin.  Less risk I'd say.  You can lose your entire bankroll with some of the other ones a lot quicker.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pros and cons of using new Bitcoin addresses for each transaction? on: October 01, 2016, 11:47:44 PM
basically the advantage of making a new address every time is anonymity.

when you don't want anyone (who knows your old address, typically customers or, if you made it public potentially everyone) to recognize you that is a basic step you have to do.

In my opinion there's no disadvantage except for the minimum raised work for clicking "new address".
The only exception here is if you want to run a static account (like when you post the address to get donations), because afaik you can't reuse an address once you got a new one.
This.  My phone wallet generates a new address for every transaction, which I think is cool but kind of unnecessary.  I'm not doing anything illegal and thus don't need as much anonymity as some might.  You see the wallet address I have posted in my profile, and I'd be just as happy if that was the only one I ever had to use.
54  Economy / Economics / Re: Is gold better than Bitcoin? on: October 01, 2016, 11:45:46 PM
Eh.  I like gold only because it's relatively rare and it's valued by others.  It's nice to make jewelry out of, and gold coins are beautiful.  It's not a requirement that gold (and silver) track inflation, but I suppose they tend to anyway.  As far as whether gold is better than bitcoin...that's a tough one, because I'm a big bitcoin supporter but still like physical things.  I would say no, but I'm open to changing my mind.  Smiley
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The danger of the cyptocurrencies on: October 01, 2016, 01:53:00 PM
This has been brought up before.   If bitcoin was the brainchild of the CIA, it's kinda probably not working out as well as they thought.  Who knows.  But in either case, people don't need the government to institute a cashless society through bitcoin.  Most of the people I know can't stand carrying cash as it is.  We'd be moving toward such a world anyway.  I like carrying cash myself, but cashless is the way of the future.
56  Other / Meta / Re: Question about Ranks on: October 01, 2016, 03:27:52 AM
Just post here constructively and consistently and you'll rank up.  There's no way to push the river faster than it's going to naturally flow, so don't try.  Don't rush it.  It's not like there's a ton of difference between ranks with the signature campaigns, unless you live in an impoverished country where $1 is going to feed your family for a week, and I don't mean that in a disparaging way.  There just isn't that much of a difference...but you're posting this in the lending section...?
57  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Looking for Sears and Kmart on: October 01, 2016, 12:18:36 AM
Just curious, do they even sell gift cards for those stores anymore?  All the Sears & Kmarts in my state have long since closed down, and they're near bankrupt if I'm not mistaken.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone reading this right now will be dead before Bitcoin dies on: September 30, 2016, 07:44:54 PM
Well, I'm totally cool with that.  In fact I would hope bitcoin would live longer than whatever time I have left in this world.  If not, then it'd be a complete waste of time.   I and a lot of other people here are in it for the long haul.
59  Economy / Lending / Re: 0.0376 BTC loan needed [ Have collateral ] on: September 29, 2016, 02:01:57 PM
Um, shouldn't this asshole be flooded in red more so than he is?  The only DT feedback he has is lutpin's, and that's a neutral.   Condoras, maybe you should fill out a scam accusation form and make it official.

Another example of why accounts should not be sold.
60  Economy / Digital goods / Re: i wan to sell this account on: September 29, 2016, 01:55:31 PM
You are a fool.  And you have negative trust from DT, so your account is damn near worthless,  which is probably why you're trying to sell it.
