41  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitpurse client transactions take upto 20 hours to complete on: May 31, 2013, 11:02:01 AM
Yeah BitPurse 2.0.1 and Electrum 1.7.4 on Linux.

I use the "import private key feature" and manually type in the "unencrypted private key" from Settings. Also tried with the format that Electrum uses for exporting and by adding a 5 to the beginning of the private key (as all electrum generated private keys began with it). Electrum just says that it fails to import the private key.

How did you manage to import the key?

And thanks for such a swift bug-fix, can't wait to download the new version. Is QR code scanning for making payments in the works? Let me take a look at the source too Smiley

Yeah the CEO seems to have a very unfortunate name: the same as an alleged kickstarter scammer who ran with almost 200k pledges?

Wish we had a good WOT system, Bitcoin is making me paranoid.

Title changed. I apologize for coming to conclusion too quickly, that's just how by brain is hardwired as some might know.. Reporting the bug to the developer now.
44  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitpurse client transactions take upto 20 hours to complete on: May 30, 2013, 11:02:30 AM
I tested a Maemo Bitcoin wallet called BitPurse. Seemed to work fine, expect when I tried to send out the Bitcoins. The UI is showing balances as it should, but the transaction is still "unconfirmed" after 8 hours. I added a .0005 to the transaction so it should have been picked up fairly quickly.

Now the deposit address still has the Bitcoins in it:
http://blockexplorer.com/address/12JXh476iY7K5Q4fqQtZE5D56Ma8vX5jwh

But Blockchain.info is listing the transaction I made with the client:
https://blockchain.info/address/12JXh476iY7K5Q4fqQtZE5D56Ma8vX5jwh

Also Blockchain.info still says that the said transaction is unconfirmed. Blockexplorer.com is not aware of the transaction id at all. Notice how the transaction is broadcasted by Blockchain.info around Africa. Also the private key the client exports out fails to import at least in electrum client.

I hope I'm wrong, but it seems to me that someone might be holding my BTC hostage. What is unclear to me however is how blockchain.info listing the transaction come into play? Was the the transaction sent only to blockchain.info bitcoind and thus wasn't accepted? Why wouldn't it be accepted, is there something wrong with the transaction? Or is blockchain.info hacked or colluding with scammers?

</tinfoilhat>

Does anyone have any other tools to search to for above address and see if you see the TX that's visible on blockchain.info?

The transaction took almost 24h hours, even with the transaction fee. BitPurse was adding some crap to the TX. Blockchain was working fine.

You are right, you need to base your trust on what we have shown to have done, like purchasing 10,000 Avalon chips with the funds we have raised on Bitfunder just like we said we would.

Agreed. Wish this endeavor all the best, maybe I will turn around and invest in it later.

Laying it on thick and grasping for straws Rikur. Everyone knows you have a stick up your ass about AMC. Apparently registering a company in Delaware should now be invalidated, no?

Ignored

Just trying to help others. I don't know what's wrong in pointing out that having a company in Delaware doesn't really add transparency for an entity.

The regulation of Delaware can also be beneficial for investors here, taxation being one of the benefits. Just wanted to point out that even if there is a company registered in Delaware, it doesn't mean that you should have much more trust in this venture outside what proof they have over at BitFunder.

Legal benefits

Because of the extensive experience of the Delaware courts, Delaware has a more well-developed body of case law than other states, which serves to give corporations and their counsel greater guidance on matters of corporate governance and transaction liability issues. Disputes over the internal affairs of Delaware corporations are usually filed in the Delaware Court of Chancery, which is a separate court of equity[3] (as opposed to a court of law). Because it is a court of equity, there are no juries, and its cases are heard by the judges, called chancellors. Since 1989, the court has consisted of one Chancellor and four Vice Chancellors. The court is a trial court, with one chancellor hearing each case. Litigants may appeal final decisions of the Court of Chancery to the Delaware Supreme Court.

Delaware has also attracted some major credit card banks because of its relaxed rules regarding interest. Many U.S. states have usury laws limiting the amount of interest a lender can charge. Federal law allows a national bank to "import" these laws from the state in which its principal office is located.[4] Delaware (amongst others) has relatively relaxed interest laws, so several national banks have decided to locate their principal office in Delaware. National banks are, however, corporations formed under federal law, not Delaware law. A corporation formed under Delaware state law benefits from the relaxed interest rules to the extent it conducts business in Delaware, but is subject to restrictions of other states' laws if it conducts business in other states.

Pursuant to the "internal affairs doctrine," corporations which act in more than one state are subject only to the laws of their state of incorporation with regard to the regulation of the internal affairs of the corporation.[5] As a result, Delaware corporations are subject almost exclusively to Delaware law, even when they do business in other states. Among other reasons, this contributes to Delaware's attractiveness as a state of incorporation.[6]

While most states require a for-profit corporation to have at least one director and two officers, Delaware laws do not have this restriction. All offices may be held by a single person who also can be the sole shareholder. The person, who does not need to be US citizen or resident, may also operate anonymously with only the Listing Agent with whom the company is registered with Delaware named. This proves advantageous in civil suits as the owner or owners cannot be disclosed under Delaware Law and thus are safe from being sued alongside the company. However, this does not apply if the civil suit is in regards to having committed a criminal act which the business has been found guilty of in court.

AMC/VMC: You mention a decades old business you have. Could you name that please?
49  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] AMC-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: May 28, 2013, 11:36:27 PM
Ok, did some research right now :
I found VMC here : https://delecorp.delaware.gov/tin/GINameSearch.jsp enter file number : 5324096

And if you whois virtualminingcorp.com , you'll find "Kenneth Slaughter" and the address of a house somewhere in Springfield, MO, which is consistant with all the press releases[1] starting with "SPRINGFIELD, MO"

[1] tab "news" on https://bitfunder.com/asset/AMC

Paid the 20$, didn't really get much more information:
http://imgur.com/a/mFCyJ

I don't know what kind of shell companies these "The Company Corporation" are, but but they all point to the same address.. And there seems to be more of companies with the name "corporation" on them and pointing to the same address. They are old companies, which adds a bit of legitimacy, but still smells a bit fishy to me. If anyone wants to chip in, please do the detailed information request for the "The Company Corporation"s (there are two of them, all pointing to the same address). Or better yet, try calling the agent tomorrow during office hours.

They could also be just companies offering company registration services and there might be nothing wrong with it.

AMC: care to explain these similarly named (shell?) companies? Who owns what? Who owns the 1500 shares of VMC? Do you have anything to do with "The Company Corporation" or "Corporation Service Company" or "Corporation Financing Institute"?

Disclaimer: I sold all my shares, too many gaping questions for my taste.

EDIT:

http://corp.delaware.gov/uccauthsrch.shtml

"The Company Corporation" points to https://www.cscglobal.com/global/web/csc/delaware-ucc.html which seems legit.

Short update: Nothing to update yet.. Still waiting for response from BitFunder. I have stated that I would be happy if I was issued more shares to bring down my average share price to .0005.

The price has been stable at .0005 since the IPO issue was brought up on this thread, so maybe calling the IPO misleading wasn't too far-fetched after all?
52  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] AMC-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: May 26, 2013, 12:23:59 AM
Yeah back to something more constructive. AMC is the NDA specifically saying that you can't disclose the name of the semiconductor company? NDAs usually have a whitelist the information to be kept confidental. Hearing the company name and maybe even verifying that the AMC is in the talks with said semiconductor company would increase trust quite a bit and bring AMC more capital.

It is sad to see history so quickly forgotten.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initial_public_offering#Pricing_of_IPO
Historically, some IPOs both globally and in the United States have been underpriced. The effect of "initial underpricing" an IPO is to generate additional interest in the stock when it first becomes publicly traded. Flipping, or quickly selling shares for a profit, can lead to significant gains for investors who have been allocated shares of the IPO at the offering price. However, underpricing an IPO results in lost potential capital for the issuer. One extreme example is theglobe.com IPO which helped fuel the IPO "mania" of the late 90's internet era. Underwritten by Bear Stearns on November 13, 1998, the IPO was priced at $9 per share. The share price quickly increased 1000% after the opening of trading, to a high of $97. Selling pressure from institutional flipping eventually drove the stock back down, and it closed the day at $63. Although the company did raise about $30 million from the offering it is estimated that with the level of demand for the offering and the volume of trading that took place the company might have left upwards of $200 million on the table.

Your point being? I'm not in this to flip anything.
54  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] AMC-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: May 25, 2013, 09:36:56 AM
Hope that the stock would not be delisted, we will all lose big if it happens.
Did try to make him view things differently. You are coming across as educated idiot rikur, and i hope you have thought about the repercussions of your actions.

I highly doubt that it will be delisted. But BitFunder is looking into it and hopefully more clear IPO rules/mechanism will spring up as a result. I'm still holding my shares, just hoping that they get this cleared up.

I will post an update here once I get one from BitFunder. Might take a couple of days though.

Hi Riku,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We will begin investigating this immediately as it could have very serious consequences.

Thank You,
BitFunder Support

Let's see what BitFunder thinks about using IPO shares to pump and dump the market.

Just a note, I'm not so sure that he placed buy orders. I think it was pumping by way of news releases only, but yes, dumping periodically from 0.0008+ all the way down to 0.0005

Possibly not against the rules. Sleazy as hell, absolutely. Proof that he's not trustworthy at all? Absolutely!

Sorry, yes, my pumping here meant witholding IPO shares from the orderbook to increase the price. I thought that the IPO was already over, since the market had no big asks.
58  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] AMC-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: May 25, 2013, 07:08:47 AM
Well I feel like a complete retard buying 10k at .001 after seeing the book... Not to mention short changed

Ouch.. Mine 10k purchase was at 0.0007. The biggest problem I have is that the IPO is supposedly still running, but there are nowhere near 4M+ asks to be seen as there should be according to the IPO/FAQ. It tricked me into thinking that the IPO was already over and paying a higher price for the shares.

I never user BitFloor and thus lost no BTC, so I don't have the time and energy to look into this. Just thought I'd bring it up here if someone is interested.

Edit:

If this is 100% old news with no new twists, let me know and I'll delete the post. I didn't follow the original threads back in the day.
