Currently downloading the Blockchain on a new server we just purchased. Took this down time to upgrade our servers to optimize the sites speed once again & to cope with the recent spike in volume we've been getting.

Rest assured all balances are stored. Please note there will be a quick verification process when returning your balance back, but this should not take longer than 15 minutes from when you send a support email. If it does we will compensate you a percentage of your balance per hour you have to wait!

Sorry for any convenience guys!

What is the verification process for those trying to remain semi anonymous?

---> are Stunna and Tradefortress the same dude?

~ are they both buddies in Australia? >> send me your i.d.? wtf ! ..hmmm this is getting good  Roll Eyes

He said nothing about ID, and neither did I. Others said so. Verification could simply be, click a link in your email. However, he hasn't said what the verification is, so it would be nice to get an idea.

For example?

For having registered 5 days ago, you're pretty stupid. I've got a link for you:

Go read for a bit.

This.

I'm really shocked at the number of people posting in this forum that don't understand bitcoin beyond a superficial level. Maybe the knowledgable ones are just growing weary of trying to help educate the newcomers every time there is a bubble.

Or tired. Or, maybe they are rich now and don't care haha.
44  Economy / Speculation / Re: put on your tinfoil hats. I think I've gone over the edge. on: November 20, 2013, 08:34:11 PM
Money is an item you trade for other items.

So pigs are money? Stocks are money. Securities are money. You're an idiot, shut up. If you're in the USA, then you certainly care what the monkeys are saying. If you're not, the impact won't be as big on you.
Pigs have an inherent value. Money not (at least not as much as the trade value).
I'm not in the USA. But I don't care about the bullshit politicians talk about bitcoins in my country neither.

That's not what you said. You said money is an item you trade for other items. You could trade a pig for other items. You said nothing of inherent value. Now you want to change your super broad definition a little?

Please, mr educator, tell us more of your vague argument.
Did I say, that the only characteristic of money is, that it is an item you trade for another item? No.
Pigs have additional characteristics than just being an "item". Or would you say a stone is the same as a table, just because they are both "items"?
I just wanted you to understand, that you can indeed use everything for money. Thus "money is an item you trade for other items.". But it doesn't mean that everything IS money. But almost everything CAN be money.
Got it?

And guess what, bitcoins have more characteristics than just money! Whodduthunkit

That's one of the many great quotes from Satoshi. He should bundle all his greatness into a book. I'd love to read how he came up with the whole bitcoin idea.

Seeing that we are all posting our addresses..

I need 0.031 so I have a round number in my wallet Grin

*crosses fingers and hopes someone is generous enough to donate*

Now, I do own the private key to this one.

Well he did succeed with his begging plea. The address currently holds 0.0035 BTC.

Or bought, or earned some.

You can always donate some to me. 1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE

I only have 1.6 coins, would like an even 2!

Well with a Bitcoin and a half you will probably become really rich in 10 years time.  Grin

Besides BTC2.1 is a nicer figure to strive for because then you'll have 1/10.000.000th of all Bitcoins that will ever exist.

https://blockchain.info/address/1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE

Only problem, is I don't have the private key and they can never be spent. But please, send the .5 so I can have the 2.1

Bitcoin is not a stock, it's a goddamn currency for gods sake.

During the senate hearing they kept on referring to it as a currency or a security. They weren't sure what to call it.

And why exactly do I care about this senate hearing?

If we agree that I will trade you a random physical Price Tag from a store with numbers on it for a Candy Bar does that make the Price Tag a currency? If we are trading the item for your item?

Don't pay attention to blockchain.info's estimated confirmation time.  It's complete garbage (like the majority of features on blockchain.info).

Well, we got your take on block size. Now, how do you feel about blockchain.info lol
54  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for people to store some of the forum's money on: November 19, 2013, 10:26:25 PM
This is why it is fallacy to allow random people to hold your money, just because they have some positive rating and run some service that holds some good amount of coins.

Obviously I didn't base my decision-making solely on reputation, or I would have accepted TF's offer.

I plan to switch to multisig in the next few months. I didn't do it initially because Bitcoin-Qt didn't support it natively, but it does now. If you're interested in being a treasurer, post here.

What will the multisig treasurer set up look like?
55  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Very urgent need 0.0015 BTC, thank you in advance!!!!! on: November 19, 2013, 10:25:12 PM
What can be so urgent that you need .0015?

I can think of absolutely nothing on this earth that costs so little that is so urgently needed that you go on a bitcoin forum to beg for it.

Some peoples hooker quality is different than others. Be nice.

High:$900.97998
Low:$502.62120

I always though Mt Gox was the high one. But when China uses their play money to pay $1200 each, we have a new group idiot.
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin at the US Senate on: November 19, 2013, 10:06:21 PM
You can see the senator's mind turning. "wow, you can get 0.1% transaction fees?" (in his mind)

Yeah it was almost like he believed it but couldn't believe it can be that cheap.  Likely what he was really thinking was "WTF?  The banks & CC companies have been raping the businesses in my district for decades"

Some think  ... "wow, how much are the banking lobbyists going to donate to me to shut this thing down."

Bingo!

Bitcoin is basically transaction free, and they pay miners etc etc etc

Credit card companies make up their own proprietary networks, and approve all the transactions themselves, and 2% or so is a number they pull out of their ass because there is no alternative.

Visa and MC have to be scared to death of BTC going main stream.

Come on who the hell is this Sarah James Lady?  I mean she is talking without saying anything.
Hilarious!!!  She is totally clueless.  This is what congress bases its action upon.  Idiots.  lol
Taking stored value cards to Switzerland.   hahahahahaha.  Who does that?

That was a very interesting speculation.

The appropriate answer was, with bitcoin, you don't have to move them physically because they aren't physical. End of story. Wow. They should read up on bitcoin before they go testify about it.

Terrorists use USD too...
And they use the Casio F91W

They probably also eat M&M's   Shocked

You think so? I've got to stop buying M&M's now, how sad.
