41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Survey on: August 13, 2013, 07:53:10 PM
Wow that survey must have been done by kids..

The single most important part of a survey is having valid and non-confusing answers.. I mean seriously, they put "Don't know/not at all" as an answer.. Which one is it?! They can't use that survey for jack-shit as I don't even believe high school teachers would approve of the way it was executed..

Guys, don't waste your time. This survey won't be of any help to anyone, anywhere. I hope it gets taken down asap. It's a disgrace against everything bitcoin.

OK Thank you Akka. It is what I feared

Hello Nono, your case was a mistake, you should be having the 3.67 GH/s (as soon as the queue is finished) as the infrastructure you bought is ASIC. However 30% of that hashing power goes to your sponsors, don't forget that Smiley

As I understand the whole network isn't shared, meaning that people who add bitcoins now don't give any hashing to anyone but their sponsors. However when an account is finished the hashing is spread out to the entire network. Right?
43  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Socialism on: August 05, 2013, 07:06:11 PM
I'm a socialist. I do not agree with having a huge state with immense power over the people, but as a way of living I feel socialism is the most rewarding, fuck buying all sorts of necessary crap to make your neighbor jealous. I want a society that praises human interaction and a wonderful community.

From a socialist, my goal for Bitcoin is to rip all the rich countries from their third world oppressing thrones and create a more equal and richer world. If the world could work more as one, then I expect socialism, and in the end communism, would be entirely plausible and preferable for everyone.

Dunno if it will happen that way, my guess is 50/50 on extinction of civilization vs. taking the step towards being a type one civilization. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardashev_scale)

But hey, I'm still young and naive, right?

Good news everyone! The price of BTC is falling! Yay!

As for the people with a ? over their head, this means that hashing power should fall, and thus the infamous 10-year ROI should decrease Cheesy

I for one invested 37 BTC in ASIC infrastructure around late April and I should have 60-70 GH/s in queue! With the lowered price, my chances of full investment payout just increased by quite a bit :>

Bump for our common hope, Pyramining!
45  Economy / Speculation / Re: 140,000 New startups to use bitcoin due to Stanford Uni! on: July 04, 2013, 04:04:49 PM
Are you sure it's one project each person? I'd think that work like this is often done in 3-4 man groups? But still, this seems huge THAT many people getting a very good understanding of bitcoin over a relative short period, who are most likely from many corners of the country/world... This may just be the cause of the "next leg up" in a year or so ! Cheesy

4 digits, hell yeah!

What a great and uplifting story! I hope to be able to do the same a few years down the road with the half bitcoin I'll potentially win Cheesy Hopefully they will be worth enough for me to be seem very generous! :b
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 29, 2013, 07:37:38 PM

I agree it's good news for Bitcoin, if it's sincere.  Now submit to regulations and hope for the best.

Jesus Coinseeker, I hear you use that word all the time, but what exactly do you mean..? How would you go about regulating Bitcoin?

Edit: I mean as in Bitcoin it self, not exchanges or anything that has to do with the transfer of dollars.
48  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 26, 2013, 01:59:48 PM
There we go! Right through 135 ! Cheesy

Hopefully we'll have a run to 140 or something and then another period where we cool off. right know we're around 2% daily growth, which is intense imo.

I have a question that has probably been answered, but haven't seen it in the pages I've read on this topic...

When the new ASIC stuff comes out, will the old deposits/accounts be transferred to it (and start paying out quicker)? Or is it only the new deposits that payout quickly and all of us who got in early have to wait 80 months?

I think I can answer that one.

At first the ASIC deposits will reap the most benefit (Old accounts will not experience an increase in hashing power unless they've referred someone with ASIC deposits) But as soon as the ASIC accounts start to finish the hashing power is given to the top of the pyramid (the old accounts) So in short, the reward time should decrease for everyone Smiley
50  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-05-21 Front page Danish free news paper Metro Express (SR) on: May 21, 2013, 11:41:08 PM
This is quite big. The amount of Bitcoin related news articles in Denmark have been on the low end to say the least! Even though it's through Silk Road that more Danes will get to know Bitcoin, I still believe it's a very good way. You get some bitcoins in order to purchase real goods, which gives a feeling of it having actual value, next thing you know you stray away from Silk Road being the main interest and focus a lot on Bitcoin as the concept Smiley Well, that's at least how things worked out for me Cheesy
51  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 07, 2013, 03:29:52 PM
Whoa, 8000 BTC wall around 105. I wonder if that will scare people back down to double digits.
That wall is as fake as they get..
52  Economy / Speculation / Re: The End Is Near on: May 05, 2013, 10:46:15 AM
More altcoins have appeared, people have started to criticize Bitcoin Foundation, Gox has been sued. Seems I was right...

For the love of Science, please state your sources! All I see are words in a particular order claiming something they don't back.

(Gox being sued is the only one I'm sure is legit)

54  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going to be between $50-$75 US tomorrow. :( on: May 04, 2013, 06:22:54 PM
Prediction: $75, actual $113. Only missed it by *that much*

To be fair, check the date of my OP.

I thought it would go down between 50-75 on may 3rd. It did hit $79 on May 3rd, about 6 hours after my prediction.

All in all I was way closer then most of you think because you all fail to check when the op was posted!

To be fair, the date says May 3rd.
55  Economy / Speculation / Re: LTC/BTC rate after the first 24 hours of trading on Gox. [POLL] on: May 01, 2013, 03:57:04 PM
I hate how it's LTC/BTC, which essentially means (where I'm from) LTC per BTC, which would be the inverse of what it is said on BTC-E.. It confuses me every time..
In other words, the current rate of 0.03179 is the amount of BTC you need to pay per LTC, right? therefore it's BTC/LTC and not LTC/BTC which would be 1/0.03179 or 31.46..
56  Economy / Economics / Re: Will U.S./E.U. Screw This up? on: May 01, 2013, 10:58:21 AM
They already screwed up, by not killing bitcoin while it was still just a seed. They are doomed to watch as bitcoin steals their monetary power and gives it to their greatest enemy, the people.  Grin
57  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1 Trillion Bitcoin on: April 30, 2013, 11:10:19 AM
It's gonna be bitcoin for sure. It cannot be stopped anymore, no way. I think it will reach $1M (per BTC) before Christmas this year, but the long-term value is not so high.

Woah steady there cowboy..

I do not think bitcoin can handle that amount just yet. Sure it might look into 4 digits, but we need a lot wider availability and recognition before we can even talk about 6 let alone 7 digits.. Sure WU could be a big factor if they take the right measures, and I'm pretty sure that the bitcoin ATM will also have quite an impact. That being said, what makes you believe that it will hit the sky so soon? (I'm leaning towards high-end 6 digits in 5-10 years)

Won't break below 100.

Another fine example of what we might be experiencing here Smiley

People waiting for the weekend dip = low volumes

No dip happening = shootup in prices in the end of the weekend

Cheesy
