41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: April 10, 2017, 04:59:29 PM
Hi everyone,

My wallet isn't staking. I get the message: "Not Staking Because You Don't Have Enough Weight." I looked around on this thread for possible answers, and I found out about coin controlling and splitting your coins. I wasn't able to find a description of these terms, but it sounds like they have to do with staking. Could someone please fill me in on this or point me to a source that will help me understand everything more?

Thanks very much.

Thanks for the reply! I was wanting to solomine with a gpu. I can't do that through the wallet. Right?

Thanks Gitju for answering my question!

Does anyone know if a standalone miner will be available for this algorithm?
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAC]Machinecoin - The Steampunk Cryptocurrency - Now With TimeTravel PoW! on: September 18, 2016, 06:13:38 AM
Just figured out how to solo mine with minerd. This is my config file:

minerd.exe -a scrypt -o 127.0.0.1:40332 -u myusername -p mypassword -t 4 --coinbase addr=mywalletaddress

The only issue I have is what do I put for the algorithm? It's not scrypt anymore...right? How do I input it in minerd or is it even supported by minerd?

Thanks!
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / sgminer question on: September 18, 2016, 05:02:24 AM
Hello,

I'm trying to solo mine with sgminer. I can't seem to find the command for the payout address. I know in minerd it's "--coinbase-addr=" but that doesn't work on sgminer. Can someone please help me out? I don't really have to work with sgminer if there isn't such a command for it. I just need something that can mine x11.

I'd appreciate any help. thanks!

Download/start Windows installer, open wallet.

Then
http://fs5.directupload.net/images/160917/zvbifjuv.png
And mining is possible as can be seen.

It works under Windows the same way like under GNU/Linux

The algorithm is TimeTravel not Scrypt, OP must update the Ann-Thread.

A working config can look like this:

Code:
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
dbcache=100
rpcuser=xxxxxxxxxxxxx
rpcpassword=xxxxxxxxxxxxx
addnode=5.230.145.49
addnode=82.211.61.103
addnode=82.211.61.104
addnode=82.211.61.199
addnode=5.230.145.71

I have to type this order everytime from new if a block found?

Greetz
Steve

Yeah, is there a way to have the wallet continuously mining? It keeps on stopping after a while. Better yet, has anyone been able to solo mine using something like cgminer?
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAC]Machinecoin - The Steampunk Cryptocurrency - Now With TimeTravel PoW! on: September 17, 2016, 03:40:38 AM
Thank worked perfectly! Thank you very much. I'm able to mine through the wallet now. I didn't know the command to mine was "generate" so if I put "generate 4" does that specify that I want to use all 4 cores? Is there anyway to check the hashrate?

Thank you again, this totally made my night!  Grin Grin Grin

EDIT:

I think I figured it out, so the number does not refer to the number of cores you want to use, it is the number of blocks you want to generate. Right? So generate 1 means you want to mine until you find one block? What is the 500000 for? Is that the time or duration?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm sure you can tell I'm a total noob.

can you solo mine with a cpu? or is it too late for that kind of stuff?

I started 1 miner on an old Raspberry Pi B yesterday and successfully mined blocks with it, so yeah.

BTW: Anyone interested in a Machinecoin Fullnode on a Raspberry Pi? If so: you can pm me.

Thanks for you reply. Can you help me get started on solo mining? I'm using the windows version of the wallet, but I can't seem to get minerd to talk to the wallet.

this is my .conf file

addnode=5.230.145.49
addnode=82.211.61.103
addnode=82.211.61.104
addnode=82.211.61.199
addnode=5.230.145.71
addnode=82.211.61.129
server=1
rpcuser=****
rpcpassword=****
rpcallowip=192.168.1/24
rpcport=40332
port=40333
daemon=1
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
rpctimeout=30
gen=1

Is this correct?

Is there any way to mine through the wallet? I added gen=1 in the .conf but how can I tell that the wallet is actually mining? I don't see an option to display the hash rate.

Thanks for your help!
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Slimcoin Official thread. First Proof of Burn cryptocurrency. New Bounties 2016 on: September 16, 2016, 04:50:55 PM
Hello, community.
I came here to find working nodes for slimcoin, because my wallet lost connections and I can't mine without network. And anyway wallet found only one working node. If anybody has other nodes, write here, please. For example, what are IPs of BChain.info and Slimcoin.club ?
Now I have over 30k slimcoins and this quantity becomes more and more.
So, I think, we should find cryptocurrency exchange which will work well, not like BTER. I suggest YOBit.net . They can list coin for 0.1 BTC. I can give 0.01 BTC for that. If anyone is ready to donate for that, write here or pm me.
Also, I could make pool, based on opensource (as I remember) MPOS , but I don't have VPS, so if anybody is ready to give VPS for that, I could start.
Coding wallet is too difficult for me, so I will not do it.

Waiting for answers...

Hey Vitala,

thanks for chiming in. Put me down for .02 BTC. So as far as I know, that gives us a total of .03? Anyone else willing to chip in?

Also, if you could get a pool going that would be AWESOME. I can't solo mine anymore because the wallet keeps on crashing.

I'm a total noob, so I have no idea what MPOS or VPS is, but if you don't have VPS can you make a pool based off of MPOS?

Thanks for helping to keep this coin alive!

Also, here are the nodes I have, in my wallet and its been working for me so far:

addnode=37.187.100.75
addnode=112.113.96.138
addnode=123.2.121.70
addnode=188.134.72.213
addnode=5.9.38.137
addnode=178.222.61.137
addnode=81.207.93.95
addnode=146.200.136.172
addnode=212.186.174.90
addnode=5.9.39.9
addnode=86.56.74.0
addnode=213.165.83.122
addnode=217.65.8.75
addnode=46.160.104.75
addnode=5.105.63.14
addnode=195.19.128.122

Let me know if that helps.

Can you solo mine this coin using only a cpu? Can you use the client to mine?

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help!!! Cannot Solo Mine!! on: September 16, 2016, 04:04:33 AM
I think I know what the problem is. Could it be that the newer wallets these days don't support get work? That is, they don't support standalone solo miners?

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Slimcoin Official thread. First Proof of Burn cryptocurrency. New Bounties 2016 on: September 16, 2016, 02:23:18 AM
Anyone there???

Nobody is here they all burned out!  Tongue

There has to be someone out there that is still trying to keep slimcoin alive.I mean is this it? The end of the road?
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What is a p2pool? on: September 16, 2016, 01:59:09 AM
Noob warning....

Can someone please explain to me what a p2pool is? I'm trying to solo mine myriad coin, but apparently the wallet doesn't support solo mining...I was told you could use a p2pool as a way to solo mine. Is this true, and if so, how does this work?

Could someone show me how to setup a p2pool for yescrypt on a windows pc?

I'd appreciate any help anyone is willing to offer.

Does anyone know where to place the conf file.  I put mine in \users\%username%\appdata\roaming\myriadcoin\

I set algo=yescrypt but wallet console says that the pow algo is sha256D

Are you sure you have correctly named the .conf file? It's myriadcoin.conf

I had that problem too, but then I realized the .conf file was named wrong.

Is it possible to realistically solo mine this coin with your cpu? If so, can you do it through the wallet?

Not with a cpu, but with a gpu card possibly.  But you realistically need a lot of MHs to get lucky when solo mining.  For small scale mining your better off using a pool and even then you really need to use GPU's to get enough hash rate.

Thanks for the reply. I know this isn't the best place to ask you this, but I might as well go ahead... do you know of any cpu altcoins that would be suitable for solo mining?

Thanks

Can you solo mine this coin? If so, can you do it through the wallet?

Yes.  A quick rule of thumb is if you have around 10-25% of the Net Hashing power you could successfully solo mine using your wallet.  It would be based on the amount of coins rewarded and the value of the coin.

Looking at the block explorer http://space.midnightminer.net/ I see a Network Hash of ~27 MH/s, so if you have a 5-10 MH/s ASIC Scyrpt miner you could solo mine and win blocks.  Is it profitable... that depends at what you can sell the coin at and your operating costs (cost of equipment + electricity).

thanks for your reply. I guess I should have mentioned that I wanted to cpu solo mine. I'm pretty sure 5-10 MH/s is way above anything that my cpu could produce.... right?
